Reviews for Hotel Aranda
Review 1:nothing not to like
Review 2:Traditional hotel, in a wine town with great Tapas and a fantastic choice of outlets for local wines . Historic wine cellars running under the town which you can visit.Friendly people and incredible value for money.
Review 3:Not much to dislike but having driven the best part of 7 hours we were starving however we arrived 2 hours after lunch (served until 4pm) and 3 hours before dinner (which starts at 9pm). I know this is the Spanish way but there was literally nowhere in town serving food so we had to make do with a mediocre pastry bought at the local supermarket until the restaurant opened. Breakfast was disappointing and consisted of lukewarm coffee, packets of cakes and biscuits and bread for toast. Not really worth the price but better than nothing when you have another 7 hour drive ahead of you as we did.
Review 4:Do not be put off by the outside of this hotel which looks a little tired and shabby - the interior is lovely, quite colonial in style and very clean and tidy. Arrived at 6pm on a Saturday to a very busy bar popular with the locals. Great location to the town which is worth a walk round as very pretty with a lovely riverside walk. Beautiful large bedroom, huge bathroom and great wifi! Very dog friendly.
Review 5:Breakfast was mediocre, scrambled egg /bacon in heat tray but it wasn't switched on so it was stone cold, only bread available was Bimbo sliced YUK, had to make do with toast and Jam, fresh bread arrived just as we were leaving
Review 6:Location and friendly staff
Review 7:Nothing
Review 8:Staff was friendly, rooms comfortable Food very good ,just 2minutes into the Town for a little shopping, Bar's etc., Lovely Buildings to look at, opposite the Plaza de Tores
Review 9:No English speaking channel on TV The evening meal we purchased in their restaurant, was very poor quality and not value for money.
Review 10:The room was great, sleep , like a log There is some private parking , And the female receptionist, was excellent, even helped to translate the evening menu in the restaurant,
Review 11:Pillows were so hard. We ordered the young lamb, and although the chef was very expressive we were very disappointed with the quality and therefore the price and it was served with no vegetables although we did ask for some, possibly our requests were lost in translation
Review 12:Friendly and helpful staff
Review 13:nothing to report
Review 14:This is a good welcoming hotel, and I relished its warm heating and hot bath on a cold January afternoon after a long trip. Big bathrooms, good linen, comfy bed and armchairs, a good restaurant too (and big bar snacks). A locked garage nearby, and a free parking area if you want it in front. Helpful people on the front desk. Aranda is a nice little city.
Review 15:The standard of the buffet breakfast did not match the rest of the hotel. Disappointing.
Review 16:Good central location opposite the bullring, although this can be a negative if you happen to stay there on one of the rare nights they hold a bullfight (as we did)! Lovely big bedroom and bathroom with top quality furnishings.
Review 17:Our room was on the first floor at the top of the stairs and the bar was at the bottom so very noisy. Although the room was huge, clean and well furnished it was noisy. It had a lively spa shower, unfortunately the shower didn't work so had too resort to a bath! The breakfast was quite frankly appealing considering we paid extra for it. Cold stewed coffee, empty orange machine, no cereal bowls so basically sliced Bimbo bread toasted with a choice of apricot or apple jam or ham and cheese which looked very dry! Simply disgusting. Wouldn't stay there again. Also had booked parking but despite there being 2 vacant, easily accessible places we were told they were occupied and we had to try to get into a small space which quite frankly was like trying to get a round peg into a square hole. All in all very disappointed!
Review 18:Food is excellent for both quality and value and all the staff are exceptionally friendly. It is always very well maintained with excellent standards of cleanliness.
Review 19:Sunday morning sightseeing, on return to hotel no key at reception. We were informed by the young man on the desk that the key was with the cleaners after informing him that we had not checked out his reply was that it wasn't a problem as the door was locked. I wasn't pleased as our belongings were still in the room. When we went to settle the bill with the credit card he put the transaction through in pounds and I wanted to pay in euros (you are normally asked how you wish to pay) because of his attitude I requested that he cancel the payment and start again. It was extremely embarrassing because of the fuss he made in front of other hotel guests
Review 20:On arrival girls on reception were very friendly and helpful. Restaurant was excellent for evening meal and breakfast.
Review 21:my window/balcony looked out onto a white-painted brick wall

Review 44:=Proximity to town centre, walking distance, just 5 to 10 minutes =The fact we could store our bike inside the hotel at no extra cost =There was free parking opposite the hotel in the bullring car park; I suppose this was possible as there was no bull fight scheduled =the friendly receptionist took our postcards and said she would post them
Review 45:Problem with Wifi in our room.
Review 46:Ideally situated for visiting Aranda de Duero without being in the centre. The hotel was comfortable, clean and provided safe private parking at a reasonable cost. Hotel staff were friendly and helpful.
Review 47:Nothing to comment on
Review 48:A great place to stay with large comfortable rooms. It was ideal for us as it was only 3 hours drive from our UK ferry at Santander and it has garage parking which I prefer for overnight as our car is full of our possessions.
Review 49:Outside of hotel (like many around here) not pretty, but don't be put off.
Review 50:Nice wide bed. Location, perfect for overnight stop from Bilbao going south. Excellent restaurants walking distance (try El Lagar de Isilla). Excellent bathroom. If you don't want to pay 8 euros for average breakfast, there's a good café down the road.
Review 51:Nothing really .
Review 52:The room was very roomy and comfortable . Noise levels we nit a problem at all . Also location was good only a few mins walk into the centre of the town .
Review 53:I think the hotel is just a little under-staffed
Review 54:The room was comfortable and surprisingly quiet given the hotels location on a main road into the city. Dinner was delicious
Review 55:No tea or coffee in room. No safe deposit facilities - even though it says there are. Definitely no soundproofing as you can hear people in next room.
Review 56:Hotel was a lovely traditional Spanish style. Room excellent. 5 mins walk to town centre. Breakfast fine for the continent with some scrambled egg and bacon.
Review 57:We were charged for 2 evening meals which we did not have - only noticedthe following week later.
Review 58:Large room and was quiet even though it was in the centre of town. Goodbreakfast buffet. Hotel parking very secure.
Review 59:It should have been easy to find (right next to the Plaza de Toros) but, even with satnav, I struggled. Also, when I eventually found the bullring, it would have been helpful if they put the hotel's name on the building !!!
Review 60:On the edge of town, a ten minute walk to Plaza Mayor. The room was large, modern, stylish and extremely comfortable with a fabulous bathroom. Friendly efficient staff. Free street parking was available nearby.
Review 61:Staff were very helpful with my Dad's mobility scooter and also recommended places to go wine tasting. Rooms were spacious and the food was good.
Review 62:We have a fish allergy that made our choice off the menu limiting.
Review 63:Friendly staff who went out of their way to be helpful and welcoming. Staff tried very hard to speak good English. Hotel ideally located for a 3 hour journey from Santander.
Review 64:Breakfast was not great all the hot food was luke warm. Also people coming in around 2 am very noisey.
Review 65:The hotel was very central and clean and all the staff very friendly and helpful.
Review 66:i cannot find any fault with the hotel or staff
Review 67:this is A great hotel, we have stayed here before and will be returning again, wonderful rooms and friendly staff. the town is A delight
Review 68:We booked a double bed but were given a twin bedded room and when we asked for another room all were booked. when we came down for breakfast there were no staff around to help make coffee etc. When we came to leave there were no staff around so we had to wait 10 minutes to get our car out of the garage.
Review 69:Town centre location an private garage parking.
Review 70:Everything very freindly lovely reception area very obligeing romms werefantastic great price at the center of a lovely town with plenty ofshops bars and restaurants
Review 71:Our room was overlooking the main roundabout and just above the bar, so was quite noisy. Plus there was no cross-ventilation or air-conditioning so it was hot and uncomfortable in the room.
Review 72:The staff were very friendly and accomodating. The dinner was of excellent quality and service at a very moderate price. The room/bed was very comfortable and clean.
Review 73:No tea or coffee facilities in the room. Did have fridge with softdrinks, but no info on charges.
Review 74:Large room. Great breakfast. Ideal place for a 1 night stay going to orfrom ferry at Bilbao/Santander.
Review 75:The staff could not have been more helpful. We ran into variousdifficulties on our trip, none of them to do with the hotel and thestaff really helped us out. They went far beyond the usual level ofcustomer service.
Review 76:Air con. Rather slow to warm room on a cold night.
Review 77:Very spacious bedroom/bathroom. Secure parking reasonably close to hoteland free parking even closer. Evening meal excellent value for money.
Review 78:Convenient point to stop en route. Pleasant old fashioned but well appointed hotel. Not quite luxury but better than budget. Dog was welcome. We have stayed in the sister hotel in Madrid which is in the luxury category, so thought this would be worth a try and it was.
Review 79:Parking difficult during working day.
Review 80:Large, newly refirbished room and bathroom. Well equipped and wellfurnished with comfotable seating and good lighting. Very good wi-filink, easily connected. Very convenient public parking if you can find aplace. Quick and attentive service at dinner. Plenty of choice atbreakfast.
Review 81:we enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Aranda, the staff were most helpful, the evening meal was excellent, in a beautiful dining room, with superior decor. The bedroom was large and airy with lovely views over the square, the beds were comfortable and a good sized en suite. For breakfast there was plenty of choice with hot or cold food. Car parking was convenient.
Review 82:Very comfortable room and the half board option was ideal for us after a day of travelling.
Review 83:Not much choice if you like cooked breakfast
Review 84:Good location easy to find and secure parking for motorcycle
Review 85:The central location and ease to get to from the motorway. Everything was top class and excellent value for money
