Reviews for Schloss Beuggen
Review 1:Breathtaking historical buildings and wonderful, peaceful location right on the Rhine. Extraordinary friendliness and trust shown when we arrived after the close of reception hours: we were given our key and a letter which invited us to help ourselves from the bar, cash box and bottle opener were left ready for us, plus the french windows that opened onto a little terrace overlooking the Rhine were also left open for us, so we could have our wine in the most beautiful location as dusk fell. Room was simple but adequate, part of the old Schloss, again directly looking out onto the Rhine. Wonderful value for money.
Review 2:There were flies everywhere. At the reception, breakfast area etc. Hotel was listed with cycling facilities, but they had none. I had to travel 4 stations away to rent a bike. Felt misrepresented. Bedsheet had dried blood stain on first day, and it wasn't changed on the second day. There was no safe deposit box. It was hot during summer and there wasn't even a fan. There were flying insects in the room. They don't bite but very annoying when they buzzed near your ear while you are trying to sleep.
Review 3:Staff was friendly. It's near to a train station and the view of the Rhein was beautiful. Took a swim and was delightful.
Review 4:There were lots of mosquitoes and flies in our room and no mosquito nets or screens on the windows. It was over 30 Celsius during the day so we had to keep our windows open at night just to get a little bit of cooler air. We asked to cancel our reservation for the second of our two night reservation because we had hardly sleep due to the buzzing of mosquitoes. And in day light there were about 10 flies in the room. We were not permitted to cancel our second night, and were told mosquito netting would be placed on the windows. Sadly, that was not done. We asked to be moved to a room with netting and were told that none of those rooms was available. So we slept horribly and ended up with mosquito bites on any part of our bodies that did not stay covered during the night. We were very disappointed.
Review 5:Nice view of the Rhein River. Interesting buildings.
Review 6:The toilet is outside the room and need to share with others, no drinking water and electric kettle provided, no TV also, and the exchange rate in the Hotel is really low.
Review 7:The environment is beautiful, and the breakfast is good also!
Review 8:basic rooms. No tv set / no accessories.
Review 9:Location is wonderful. The place has a big charme on Rhein river and it is not so common to find such structures at this price (rooms are into a castle complex). Basic, small rooms but comfortable. Price is ok .
Review 10:a bit a challenge to find the right door to enter the (right) building (because of a very late arrival outside of office hours I did need to use the side door with the entry code); very noisy (screeching) wooden floors/felt sorry about other guests (especially when I was walking through the building in the middle of the night); shared toilet on the floor (even though very tidy & clean)
Review 11:Calm and inspiring location and atmosphere; a perfect stroll along the rhine river banks in the morning to my business meeting at evonik; saw the first storks of this year arriving at their nest at Beuggen
Review 12:The hotel gave the impression that it offered the very valuable KONUS card........it didnt , and it ruined my stay in BW
Review 13:The outside of the complex was attractive.....I took pics
Review 14:Brekfast was good. Lovely buildings and generous room with 2 fold diwn beds for kids in a separate area. Very friendly. Bike lock up had tools and a good stirrup pump:)
Review 15:is an business set up as a convent retreat. no television, WIFI or any entertainment present in the evening
Review 16:Location is beautiful, but no staff present after 5.00pm
Review 17:The floors and beds were very squicky. Lots of mosquitos too.
Review 18:The atmosphere was very nice, and the location could not be beat. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was also very nice.
Review 19:Actually it's a more a Christian conference centre (also very suitable for non- Christians however); not a traditional business hotel. Very peacefull. No TV in your hotel room.
Review 20:Very peaceful area and hotel. Relaxed. Easy to park. Big / spaceous rooms.
Review 21:Dining and drink facilities weren't explained so we didn't realise there was a bar with an honesty box; we followed others in getting our food - no staff in the dining room to explain how it all worked.
