Reviews for Pensión Arbidel
Review 1:Not a problem for us but guests should now that the pension is built into the hill (access from old town which is flat). There are stairs to get to all rooms (number varies depending on which room you are in) so need to be ok with these and carrying luggage up stairs.
Review 2:Great location, and clean and comfortable room. Great shower with good pressure and hot water. Fast wi-fi. Easy parking nearby in carpark by bridge on water (free).
Review 3:Our small room had no window except for a skylight! So, no view and we felt quite shut in. The lighting was also very poor, just 2 60w bulbs beside the bed - no main light. It was very difficult even to see what was in our bags.
Review 4:Right in the middle of the old town near cafes and bars.
Review 5:My husband was concerned about security. There was an unlocked gate at the top of the terraced garden and our chalet was the first accommodation entering the garden from there. In the ensuite the basin was minute and there were no hooks to hang clothes or towels on.
Review 6:I liked the quaint detached wooden 'alpine style' chalet in the terraced hillside garden. The accommodation was clean, the bed was comfortable and we had clean towels every day. Own picnic table outside the chalet. Only 10 minutes walk from FEVE station. Ribadesella is a beautiful location.
Review 7:noise from restaurant below went on until 1 am , this is probably only a problem in the hotter times of year when the windows need to be open .
Review 8:good location and very clean
Review 9:Unbelievably noisy. We had excellent weather with hot days and nights. The room had no A/C and we were on top of a restaurant. As it was extremely hot, we had to keep windows open. Could not sleep at all with all noise from restaurant kitchen directly below us and all the noise from the street. Always managed to get to sleep at around 1:30 am and then at 6:30 am cleaning trucks and rubbish collectors started all the noise again! Room would be ok if we shut windows but completely impossible due to heat (26-28 degrees C). Would return of they had A/C, but otherwise never!
Review 10:Nice small hostel but lots of stairs friendly staff
Review 11:GPS didn't find the exact spot, but luckily we had printed a map before. Otherwise would have been a bit hard to find as it was located in a small alley.
Review 12:Great location for Ribadesella bars and restaurants, not too far from the beach either. Nicely decorated rooms. Free parking lot was about 500 meters from the hotels. Good location to visit the mountains as well.
Review 13:Decor was lovely, very traditional but good modern bathroom. Outside space was great, picnic benches and umbrellas so we could have breakfast outside from local bread shop at a reasonable cost. Would strongly recoimmend, great value.
Review 14:Our room (9) overlooked the street and a very noisy restaurant. If you are in town to party it probably would be OK, but if you are walking the Camino and need sleep, then perhaps this is not the hotel for you.
Review 15:A charming and eccentric pension tucked into the back streets. Although the room was small it was very clean. The owner was extremely helpful.
Review 16:Didn't like having to track down someone to let me in. Staff never there. Restaurant downstairs, but no breakfast offered. A real pet peeve--cheap, ugly, poly sheets.
Review 17:The place was clean, in a good location, above a Michelin-starred restaurant. Good size and nicely decorated.
Review 18:Quite a bit of noise late into the night as room was over the Dining area for the attached hotel.
Review 19:Owner very kind and helpful. Wonderful facilities. Central location Free Parking adjacent to Pension
Review 20:I missed a feet towel in the shower and shower gel/shampoo would have been more than welcome as we took a flight to Asturias and did not bring any with us, we needed to use hand soap. I would not recommend it for people with troubles using stairs, baby chairs...
Review 21:location and staff
Review 22:Friendly and helpful staff.
Review 23:Fantastic location, lovely big rooms. Clean and new very comfortable.
Review 24:This hotel is in a great location all the amenities in the town are right on top of you. Very clean and represents great value for money.
Review 25:Awful staff, really makes you feel uncomfortable.
Review 26:In the heart of the town, gives a discount to Pilgrims
Review 27:Clean, characterful room in excellent location
Review 28:Noisy and dark
Review 29:No bad experience. Lots of stairs, no lifts. Some might need to know that.
Review 30:Location, cleanliness, well maintained.
Review 31:Visiting the caves and the market.
Review 32:Very good positioned in the Center of the City. Very friendly. :-)
Review 33:Location was great, receptionist was very helpful, excellent restaurant attached.
Review 34:Location is within town. Easy walking to any area. Room was clean and simple. Several excellent restaurants nearby. Staff was helpful.
Review 35:everything was nice
Review 36:The location is idylic and central. The room and bathroom nice, clean and big. A very nice place
Review 37:Beautifully decorated
Review 38:Really lovely room and bathroom. Very clean. Comfortable bed. Very close to good restaurants and the sea front.
Review 39:a lovely cosy room. very comfortable bed. Friendly helpful staff
Review 40:The night guardian was unnecessarily rude and the 30 Euro room for a single was of poor value, given lack of toiletries, size of bed, and noise from other guests due to thin walls.
Review 41:Juan, the proprietor was very welcoming.
Review 42:Had to wait over an hour to check in as no staff in reception at 1800. Be aware no lift. Not stated in hotel description.
Review 43:Perfect location in the village. Walking distance to train and bus stations. Nice decor and modern bathroom.
Review 44:Wifi does not extend to rooms. Owner said he is working on expanding coverage.
Review 45:Most comfortable bed I've slept in since starting my trip over a month ago! Perfect location yet just off the busy roads so quiet once bedtime. Clean. Gorgeous rooms. Ambiance of several clustered buildings with private patio areas for guests is fabulous.
Review 46:The layout of the two buildings is on a very steep slope. The steps could have been difficult for some. The pension is on a pedestrian street, so the taxi had a bit of trouble finding and accessing it.
Review 47:The manager was extremely helpful, and the room was very comfortable. Because Pension Arbidel was above the Arbidel Restaurant, we had dinner there, and found the cuisine and service outstanding, really not to be missed. Location is close to shops, beach, and Tito Bustillo cave/museum.
Review 48:Not every room has private bathroom! Make sure you confirm this inadvance. We were lucky to have been given a room with bathroom, alsobecause we went in January, off peak season. Noise can eventually be aproblem, as bedrooms are very close together.
Review 49:Excellent accommodation; for the price, you would expect much less. Itsurprises for the decor, ambience and staff friendliness. The photos onthe site don't really make justice to the very nice bedroom andpublic areas design and decor. The owner is very very nice and friendly.Amazing mattress! Free wifi works perfectly. We will certainly come backin another visit to Ribadesella.
Review 50:Climate change has made the city quite warm, there are no fans but at night you don't need them (to my surprise)
Review 51:Very nice people, very helpful and friendly. Also very honest (the restaurant next door is awesome, being a bit tipsy left too much tip and they told me that later on, returning my money!!!!). Beautiful place, full of things to do. Plan for a several days trip, because there is so much to see/do
Review 52:Very noisy, this is a hotel used by the Pilgrims on the Santiago de Compostela route. Their rooms aren't ensuite, therefore woken at 6.00 AM and listened to them traipsing in and out of the bathroom for an hour and a half. Had to wait an hour for someone to open the door to the hotel. Not a great reception
Review 53:Situated in the centre of town close to the beach.
Review 54:The building is charming and the owners very friendly, helpful andknowledgeable regarding the sights. It was close to citycenter/beaches and the bus station. In spite of the central locationit was quiet at night.
Review 55:The noise from the kitchen of the restaurant was very loud as was other guests going up and down the metal stairwell outside my room.
Review 56:I liked the room, very homely and welcoming, also a little lounge area for guests was nice.
Review 57:We found somebody from the staff not at once. Не сразу нашли кого-нибудь из персонала.
Review 58:Nicely designed rooms, each one in its own style. We booked two double rooms half an hour before arrival without any problems. The hotel is in the pedestrian part of the city. Чудесно оформленные номера, каждый в своем стиле. Забронировали за полчаса до заселения без проблем. Гостиница в пешеходной части города.
Review 59:The pillows and beds in general need a little improvement. The cold water was weak coming out, needs some fixing.
Review 60:The place was very clean and cozy. Perfect location close to the beach walk and to bars and restaurants.
Review 61:As much as I enjoyed my stay, there were a few details lacking: only onesmall thin towel, no shampoo, less than half a roll of toilet paper, andthe inconsistency of the wifi was very frustrating.
Review 62:Something "solid" about the room - difficult to explain, butmany places I've stayed at in Spain tend to be either outdated, orelse too "new" (with flimsy, bad quality fittings); whereasthis place was in a stone building with solid wood furnishings, simpletasteful decor, oak floorboards...
Review 63:Very friendly staff.
Review 64:We couldn't find any staff in the morning when we left and needed to hand in our key.
Review 65:Excellent value for money and very clean
Review 66:everything about the place was excellent, i would certainly reccomend it to freinds
Review 67:The stairs
Review 68:Nothing.
Review 69:Really nice hotel with very helpful staff. Very close to the beach, bars and restaurants.
