Reviews for Edenstar Saigon Hotel
Review 1:poor wifi, contruction works next to pool area
Review 2:Very good service --> nice and polite staff, cleanliness, spacious and cozy room, good location, nice roof-top swimming pool, all in all very good price-quality ratio!
Review 3:View from room at back Do not accept room at right side of building as you look at it from road. It is next to horrendously LOUD rooftop disco! Little short of tables at rooftop pool bar
Review 4:Position 15 walk Ben Than market Roof pool Breakfast buffet Happy hour 5 to 7 Fair price Good free Internet
Review 5:It is what you expect from a 4 star hotel. Clean comfortable with attentive staff. Nothing bad to say about our stay. Breakfast buffet has a great variety of food.
Review 6:Leaky shower flooded the bathroom each time we used it and (small) pool could do with a clean.
Review 7:Spacious and clean rooms with helpful reception/pool bar staff.
Review 8:Massage is relatively bad compared to outside places in terms of expertise and price
Review 9:Location is really central and convenient. The hotel has many services and offers all comforts. Staff is extremely friendly and available.
Review 10:Forgot fruit for turn down service, charged for ice and the bathtub was nice but on a slant, would not be good for older folks.
Review 11:Great location, quiet rooms, great breakfast, friendly staff.
Review 12:Not anything really but the 9am finish for breakfast was a bit early - especially on New Year's Day.
Review 13:Room really spacious, roof top bar a winner. Reception staff lovely and helpful. Breakfast was great too.
Review 14:Pool area could be bigger with more chairs and sun beds. Breakfast only till 9:30 am is not enough especially after long haul flight.
Review 15:Very nice and fairly modern hotel with a pool on the roof and good breakfast. The location is so-so, but we still walked almost everywhere.
Review 16:Nothing.
Review 17:Excellent hotel with spacious and clean room with a nice bubble bath in the bathroom, nice pool. Good breakfast with plenty of variety. It was no problem to use pool facilities and shower after check-out.
Review 18:The room was not clean, toilet paper in the bath tube and Under the sink. Around the swimming pool there are only few sun chairs so we had to wait one hour to get one.
Review 19:Only downside is the (mildly high) cost of laundry service.
Review 20:Easily the best place we stayed during our three week vacation! I just wish we had been able to stay more than two nights. Room and bathroom were both super clean, bed was very comfortable, service staff was friendly and helpful.
Review 21:One set of pillow cases used by last guests was not replaced! Very annoying. Could be an oversight but did leave bad impressions on an otherwise good experience.
Review 22:Reasonable cost. Good facilities
Review 23:We had booked a premium room with city views through booking.com and ended up with a room facing another office building with rooftop bar that was playing loud music until 2 am. The staff were not very accomodating. They also had some renovations and had to have breakfast at the skypool bar which was too small a venue and always packed. No where to seat for long periods of time, and whenever seats became available they gave those to larger groups rather than first come first served. So you end up waiting for upto half an hour to be seated at a table. On my last day before checking out I had a sentimental price of jewelry stolen from my bag. I left my bags in the room to go for breakfast and I didn't realize until I checked out of the room an hour later as I went through my bag. I called to complain to management but very poor response to the issue, very rude and unconcerned. No follow up even though I had contacted then within a reasonable time frame. Very disappointed!
Review 24:Due to reconstruction, overcrowded restaurant rooftop during breakfast. A bit noisy, although I had a suite , I could hear room next to me flushing toilet, as it was in my own bathroom
Review 25:There was a wedding on the rooftop on our last day there so we had no access to the pool until the next day which was a little annoying because that was all we wanted to do after a long few weeks of travelling but all in all it was a fantastic stay
Review 26:Rooftop pool was incredible and the staff have good English and are very helpful
Review 27:Breakfast only available until 9.30am was a bit annoying - sometimes you want a bit of a lie in on holiday!
Review 28:Good breakfast choice, amazing roof top pool, great location, friendly & helpful staff
Review 29:Not a big problem but in our room we had a small plate of fruit with a note on it saying "complimentary". We didn't eat the fruit the first night and next morning it was removed. However the empty plate and its note were left there for the next 2 nights. No more fruit was added to it! Better to remove the plate!
Review 30:The room was well equipped and comfortable. Nice modern bathroom with shower over the bath.
Review 31:Traffic of the city is really annoying and disturbing anytime.
Review 32:The hotel is beautiful, clean and brand new. Staff was very friendly and the concierge guys always looking forward to help you. Rooftop pool is great after a day doing sightseeing, great views of the city.
Review 33:Just the view not much to look at, but you'd be out most of the time anyway
Review 34:The staff at the hotel were extremely helpful and accommodating. Everyone was very welcoming and ready to assist and provide guidance and information especially the front desk and bell boys. The restaurant managers were also very accommodating and arranged to prepare separate halal meals for us. It's a very comfortable hotel with up to date facilities and very clean. We loved our stay! Thank you to the hotel and their staff :) highly recommend for anyone wanting to stay at Ho Chi Minh, close proximity to Ben Thanh Market and the museums, also many coffee shops and cafes.
Review 35:Lighting in the bathroom was poor. They have an energy saving LED fitting which is quite dim. A small Fluorescent over the mirror was next to useless. Fortunately I had a small torch which assisted. Room was at the rear of the hotel overlooking smaller buildings and yard spaces.
Review 36:Booked and stayed for two nights in the Executive double room at the end my trip in Vietnam. The room was large, nicely decorated and clean. The room had a view facing the street, and it was not too noisy. The staff were excellent, knowledgeable and spoke English. The breakfast was plentiful and dining room service staff were attentive. Most importantly the bed was comfortable and I slept really well. The Hotel Location is central to everything but not on a really busy street for HCMC, and it was easy to get anywhere. The Rooftop pool and skybar was refreshing. Would definitely stay here again and recommend to others.
Review 37:A construction site near the roof top pool was very annoying: It Impacts the upper floor rooms (loud noises early in the morning) and, of course, the pool (it is not very relaxing to take a sun bath while someone with a drilling machine works next to you). It was not announced by the hotel in advance and no appology was made...
Review 38:Good location and nice breakfast.
Review 39:The hotel is lovely and the room is clean, a good size and decent bathrr. The reception staff can be a bit stand off-ish and cold, but maybe we felt like that as we just arrived from Hoi An, where the staff were extremely accomadating! Other than that. Good stay for a night in Ho Chi Minh
Review 40:The wifi was slow, sometimes unbearable. But overall a very very good hotel. Would stay here again.
Review 41:Fantastic location, wonderful breakfast, and very friendly staff.
Review 42:Fantastic 2 day stay here. Rooms are comfortable and staff are very helpful, attentive and professional. The pool on the top floor was a nice way to take a break from the hussel and bussel of the ground floor. Will definitely stay again.
Review 43:They were doing renovations on the rooftop pool which made it hard to relax when swimming or by the pool.
Review 44:The staff were extremely helpful and friendly. We enjoyed our 2 night stay and were spoilt with an upgrade to our room too.
Review 45:Hotel is really nice. Has good location and there is a nice big park just nearby so you can have a getaway from hectic city. Staff is really friendly and helpful. Nice pool at the roof, good drinks in the bar.
Review 46:Restaurant disappointing, although we couldn't fault the six breakfasts which were consistently very good and well managed. Sports channel a bonus for watching the All Blacks final.
Review 47:Located in the centre near the important sights to walk to. Reception staff extremely helpful.
Review 48:The pictures on the homepage look a bit better than reality...but as said....compared to other 4*hotels in Vietnam it is very fine.
Review 49:I usually travel just in 5*star hotels - so Im a bit spoiled ;-) So for vietnamese 4* Standard its an ok hotel. The staff is helpful, attentive and friendly - their english is not great but sufficient (but thats Vietnam). Its in an ok distance to attractions. The rooms were ok clean. Breakfast was fine - nothing to complain....its just not the Sofitel, Lotte or Caravelle ;-)
Review 50:nothing
Review 51:the hotel is close to the main spots in walking distance. the hotel staff is very very friendly, the hotel is clean and the breakfast is rich and tasty
Review 52:The Hotel was very well located in a fairly quiet area but still within walking distance to what we wanted to see. The staff were very courteous and friendly and very helpful. The breakfast area was excellent and such a huge variety of food. Very good value for money and highly recommend it.
Review 53:The receptionist was very bad about behavior because i booked through booking.com i/o direct to Eden star. I dont want to be back this hotel
Review 54:room is good
Review 55:The hotel is located in a great area. It is easy to get to all the attractions in Ho Chi Minh city. The staff were helpful and friendly and made us feel very welcome.
Review 56:Charged $45 for late check out. Work around pool area very noisy. Breakfast was ok but not fantastic. Massage was a bit amateurish.
Review 57:Location. Pool. Restaurant. Being moved from room with no view to better room.
Review 58:not much view from hotel they forgot my welcome fruit basket need refurbishment as the hotel rooms is showing signs of getting really old
Review 59:very nice Jacuzzi bathtub in the room impressive lobby fast internet
Review 60:great view from the room, a stunning skyline of the city, it is worth the money to rent a room in the upper floors. The breakfast buffet is very good. roof swimming pool was also nice.
Review 61:Lack of English spoken by front desk staff. No explanation of facilities offered. After we ordered and were served drinks in the downstairs lounge during happy hour we were told that the 2 for 1 was only for the roof top lounge.
Review 62:Good location for walking distance to Independence Palace, War Museum, Market and park. Good breakfast. Clean rooms. Helpful, attentive bellboys.
Review 63:Loved the location, the friendly and very helpful English speaking staff, the rooftop pool, the breakfast range, the menu, the whole atmosphere. The reception staff and porters are the best. Great rooms and great value for money. Staff knew where I could shop for goods I wanted and where to eat out.
Review 64:Not enough light on the room and on the bathroom, too modern but inconvenient. No iron and iron board available which I found it quite weird
Review 65:Nice stay, good lobby to meet customers.
Review 66:Great location, good facilities (gym, pool, spa), decent breakfast selection. Fantastic, helpful and friendly staff, However I feel that the hotel was lacking character... Don't get me wrong, it was comfortable and you get what you pay for...It just needs some more personality...
Review 67:We had to ask for an alternative room as the bathroom flooded when you used the shower in the first room we had
Review 68:Very clean. Friendly, helpful staff. Great variety of food at breakfast
Review 69:unlike other hotels that I stayed , I feel is better for hotel to provide a note for customers of the taxi details . Frontdesk : Poor - information staff should least have some knowledge of HCMC . Queenbed suppose to be a one bed not 2 bedded. beside one breakfast Pho broth was too salty .
Review 70:room was clean and well maintained , fantastic rooftop , comfortable bed ,nice breakfast .
Review 71:Our pre arranged airport pick up driver kept us waiting for 20 minutes . Disappointing start, as we had to call hotel to chase him up. Staff less than enthusiastic at reception and tour desk personnel diffident . We are not difficult to please but we found this hotel lacked the lovely care factor we had found in other hotels across Vietnam.
Review 72:Location was good. Lobby very impressive. Rooms perfectly fine. Breakfast satisfactory although tables cramped
Review 73:I asked for a smoking room and they charged me more money for another non smoking room that was exactly what I ordered minus a Jacuzzi. Many thanks for 30 usd per night extra for nothing. Lobby was not clean and had many Mcdonald wrappers in bins. Also road is a bit rough and the noise of a morning with drilling and housekeepers on loud walkie talkies was too much. Should have gone back to 5 star hotel same price in the end. Alot of dust around sils in room
Review 74:Room was comfortable and location was good
Review 75:Staff were not very helpful. They could have been more helpful in assisting us navigate the city and avoid unnecessary hassle with dodgy taxi drivers etc.
Review 76:Lovely location. Fantastic pool area. Good facilities.
Review 77:curtains didn't close all the way letting in a lot of light
Review 78:great location with cool rooftop pool. breakfast buffet was good start to the day. large room with good views and comfortable bed.
Review 79:The bed was too hard for my liking
Review 80:The pool was good though pool staff not always attentive, 10 minute walk to the main markets was great. Breakfast was good, liked the ice milk coffee
Review 81:Reception could have been more helpful in giving welcome advise and directions. Not much equipment was working in the gym. Our room stunk of cigarette smoke, it was so strong my throat became sore at night. Booking policy could be reviewed, most places take one night security and pay balance on check out. Not all prior to arrival.
Review 82:The breakfasts were amazing. We were upgraded to executive, nice spacious room. Lovely welcome fruit. Doorman helpful.
Review 83:that it was raining a lot so you couldnt really enjoy the pool . I think that they need to put some sort of cover out there so you can still sit outside with out getting wet.
Review 84:it was clean and tidy and the staff where helpful.
Review 85:It's not the newest hotel and you can see it in the rooms here and there.
Review 86:Nice hotel near a beautiful park, longer walking distance to the center, but no problem.
Review 87:Our massive king bed was actually two doubles pushed together subtracting from the overall comfort. Design of the shower makes it difficult to shower without getting water all over the bathroom.
Review 88:Pool was fabulous- they provide free towels and you can order drinks from the bar. Room was HUGE. The omelet and pho station are the breakfast highlights-- saving otherwise bland offerings.
Review 89:Airport pickup provided by this hotel is too expensive considering the short distance between it and the airport. It's about 15 - 20 min ride but charged for $25. So we took a taxi upon departure.
Review 90:Friendly staff, good location, safe overall, good paid day tour programs available, good value, just not impressive.
Review 91:Drinks were expensive. They took money from my account before arrival which I didn't expect.
Review 92:Make sure to enjoy the rooftop bar and pool. It's small but a great view point.
Review 93:The mattress was quite hard. Seriously the only thing I could fault...
Review 94:Buffet breakfast was amazing! And the rooftop pool was unreal. Staff were super friendly and always helpful.
Review 95:Dining area is not big enough to accommodate all guest. Every morning, we need to wait for a table or share it with others. We booked a VIP massage. Suppose to be body, feet & facial. But missed the facial. Tried to give me packets of seaweed & told me to do it myself. The receptionist there was rude. The girls who massage us were wearing very short outfit, looked like prostitutes.
Review 96:Great hotel, friendly staff, very clean facility. Value for money.
Review 97:Excellent hotel for a short stay in Ho Chi Minh. Room was spacious and clean, beds were perfect to help us get over jet lag. Location was good (not great) and the staff was helpful pointing us in the right direction. Pool seemed nice if it wasn't for the rain! 9/10 breakfast
Review 98:Brown dull rooms and expected to pay for a small saucer when it got accidentally cracked. Definitely not a 4 star hotel! With a price list for every single thing in the room! Better places to stay for this money.
Review 99:Pool was good
Review 100:Bar and mini bsr prices 3 times more expensive than any where ive stayed before in vietnam and the room for the prices was small
Review 101:The pool was fantastic with wonderful views .the breakfast was good
Review 102:Nothing
Review 103:This was a very nice hotel in the centre of Ho Chi Minh, the roof top pool was amazing and the staff were excellent. The jacuzzi bath was great too. If you want a bit more luxury from your hotel, stay here, if you just want somewhere to crash at the end of a long hot day, there are better value places to stay.
Review 104:Its location actually quite far from attractive places. Got little bit smell in the room.
Review 105:Excellent customer service. Spacious room. Breakfast not bad.
Review 106:Pool and bathroom towels were threadbare. Breakfast did not cater for vegetarians much (no soya milk) and rice always had pork in it for example.
Review 107:Nice hotel in District 3. Located next to shops and local and western restaurants and cafes. Hotel double bed was enormous and very comfortable. Pool area was nice and also ate in the restaurant looking over the pool one evening. Great views of the city at night. Not far from War Museum and great vegetarian restaurant called Hum. Only cost 30 VND to get there.
Review 108:Offer of trips that are not very professional and too expensive of what they offer. We did the city tour which was primary a taxi guide that stopped at the site and waited for us.
Review 109:The Edenstar gave us a perfect place to relax after hectic days exploring Saigon. Wonderful roof top pool with views over the city. Happy hour cocktails were most welcome at the end of the day. Excellent service and helpful staff.
Review 110:Absolutely beautiful hotel. Staff were extremely helpful with everything. We were upgraded to a suite which was one of the most spectacular views over Ho Chi Minh. Breakfast was delicious with food prepared in front of you. Highly recommend this hotel to everybody.
Review 111:Breakfast can be too busy, one morning we were unable to get a table as they were all full and told to come back in 10minutes
Review 112:Location, staff assisted with close by restaurants and bars marking on a map for us.
Review 113:Bathroom floor was not too clean. No T bags in room. No drink on arrival yet other guests were served a cool drink. Requested late check out advised fully booked yet online there were vacancies. I have stayed at many hotels in Vietnam, did not find the staff as friendly here. Towels could have been bigger. Only one type of coffee served at breakfast .
Review 114:Was able to leave luggage and have a shower after check out.
Review 115:Can only think of one thing, massage staff asking for tips at the end of the message should be left to the customer to decide if they want ti tip the staff.
Review 116:The staff was very helpful and friendly and went out of their way to help. Location was central. Facilities are great.
Review 117:The staff were very helpful and friendly. They assisted us in recovering our baggage from the airport which was delayed in transit. The rooftop pool was excellent with fantastic views and sunsets.
Review 118:the Room was dirty and not very clean, the staff were very unfriendly, we had to argue for a couple of tea bags which was not kept in the room in the first place, not everyone will have green tea which was kept in the room. Overall, would not recommend this hotel to anyone. The Bath Towel had strands of hair inside the folds and were horrified to see it
Review 119:Nothing really except it is centrally located
Review 120:Wi-fi in room is not stable.
Review 121:Walking distance to sites like Independence Palce, Notre Dame Cathedral. Cheap by cab to further places too. Several convenience stores and cafes near hotel.
Review 122:I had no bad experience staying at the hotel and would recommend this hotel to relatives and friends.
Review 123:The location of the hotel, very close to all the amenties. Easy to catch a cab.
Review 124:The area is a little noisy, so sometimes wakes you up early - but this is very much outside the hotel's control.
Review 125:At the end of a manic day walking round the city this hotel gave us a great respite. The room was very comfortable, with a lovely bathroom and having free use of the rooftop pool with views of the city was fantastic. The breakfast was very good also setting you up for a day's exploring.
Review 126:We did request an upper storey room which we didn't get and all the rooms should also be non smoking which wasn't the case. The whole second floor smelled like cigarette smoke and our remote for the tv had a burn mark... The room looked and smelled like painted recently, but wasn't executed very well. You could see that they didn't paint the whole walls and ceilings and they also didn't tape off the corners, really sloppy work. The floor looked also very used. We also had to ask twice for the included late check out, since the first time we asked they told us we would have had to pay half the room price.
Review 127:Breakfast was really good. A varity if different food for every taste. We apparently got an upgrade from a premium deluxe to an executive room.
Review 128:The mixer tap on the bathroom sink is badly positioned which makes the surrounding area very wet.
Review 129:The staff were fantastic: attentive, considerate and very keen to please
Review 130:Can't fault them, perfect stay :)
Review 131:Excellent hospitality, clean, beautiful rooftop pool, best breakfast, comfy rooms, beautiful views and everything! We would definitely stay here again, we enjoyed our time here immensely and highly recommend that you try Edenstar.
