Reviews for Isabel Hotel
Review 1:Everybody smokes in front of their childs .even at kids pool where is sign that it s prohibited. In my country it s strictly prohibited , and you can call police if you see someone smoking in front of child. It s almost everywhere in tenerife ,and i believe in spain-everybody smokes. Dear parents - you dont give the chance to your child to choose. You dont ask. So egoistic . It s your childs health. I think if isabel is family hotel there should be much more 'smoking prohibited'signs . Or even better -prohibited in all hotel. If you want it so badly -go and smoke outside.
Review 2:Good location ,5 min walk to playa fanabe ,shops ,pharmacy . 15 min walk to yacht port (port de colon),where u can buy a yacht trip. Food veryyy veryy rich,i m vegetarian &had a lot options. Kids pool is great ,and is built in place where is not very bright sun in day time ,to protect kids.Near the pool there are wc with small water closets. There is also bike rental spot in front of the hotel, with kids seats ,and costs very cheap .2 hours = 12 eur /for 2 adult bikes with 2 child seats.
Review 3:The rooms could do with a bit of updating and the towels by the pool while clean are shabby
Review 4:Facilities are great for families, complex is spotless and has everything you need and food is pretty good.
Review 5:Could not fault anythink
Review 6:Can not fault this hotel Brilliant stay lovely staff can't do enough for you The best animation team outstanding entertainment by far Lovely food spoilt for choice Brilliant location centre of beach shops bars restaurants A soloutly loved it highly recommend
Review 7:Enjoyed our lovely short stay. Plenty to do in the hotel the pool area was very good for children and adults, staff very friendly and helpful. Good room service.
Review 8:bathroom a little tired with shower head blocked with needle sharp jets of water out of a few holes, no welcome pack explaining what the hotel had to offer (we found a lot of things about 4 days into our stay), hotel food expensive. No oven in kitchen so we cooked camping type food. Wifi only in lobby.
Review 9:good location, well managed pool, ability to self cater.
Review 10:Beds too soft and still use sheets and blankets so the whole sleeping experience was the biggest let down
Review 11:Nice "village" style hotel, good amenities, lovely pool, good location, great and flexible kids club.
Review 12:Fantastic place with always heated pool, high quality buffets, nice staff and great value for money. Wonderful hotel area made like a village. Nice activities for the full family.
Review 13:Too much alcohol in mixed drinks!! One serving of gin was more like a double gin, but i ve experienced this in spain before so i should have asked server to pour less ( it was done in front of me)
Review 14:Staff, cleanliness, family oriented
Review 15:Beds on wheels.. and the bed was too singles pushed together. No wireless in the rooms. Not a hotel for couples looking for a quite week in the sun, a lot of children. Also, not 4 star standard. Expensive for what it was.
Review 16:Location
Review 17:Internet access is very poor; slow and not available in rooms, only the main reception area. Bed very creaky every time you turn over. Coffee undrinkable, so we switched to warm milk or tea, such poor quality. Staff - some helpful, some rude at Reception, but room cleaning staff very nice.
Review 18:The size of the rooms, plenty of space. The amenities, swimming pools and cleanliness of the estate and rooms. Breakfast choice excellent
Review 19:The hotel is desperately needing decorated and needs decorated to maintain its 4 star as my last visit felt like more 3star. Went all inclusive yet again as I have done all 3 times over 2 years yet food never changes bit disappointing.
Review 20:3rd time visiting this hotel staff absolutely brilliant and hotel very clean along with the grounds
Review 21:1. One of the receptionists was unwelcoming and ineffective. Fortunately, a colleague of hers made of for it with excellent service. 2. The quality of breakfast buffet. Plenty of variety, but generally low quality. 3. Location was close to a supermarket, and within walking of beach, but the shops and restaurants in the area were quite unattractive. 4. There was a cockroach in our bathroom and some mould in the shower. While the cleaning staff appears to do a good job of maintaining an aging premises, there are certainly flaws.
Review 22:The facilities for children (wading pool, playground, bouncy castle, ball pit castle) were very good. Despite showing their age, they were well maintained.
Review 23:Hotel was over priced for what it is, needs upgrading, pool area too small, no air conditioning in rooms. More like a 3 star than a 4 *. Food same every day overpriced for what you got.
Review 24:Good location, rooms were clean.
Review 25:Needs renovation Can be called a 4 star hotel for cleanliness and great staff but not facilities. Advise, look into the small things witch need to be fixed.
Review 26:Great staff Clean
Review 27:Nothing
Review 28:The restaurant, especially the staff, but also the wide selection of buffet food. The relaxed atmosphere not forgetting the blue skies and warm sunshine.
Review 29:Only a small gripe our bathroom had a smell of dampness due to leak above. Room 539.
Review 30:Good for all ages . Good kids programme. All inclusive was good although local drinks and cocktails not great.
Review 31:Room interior is suitable for 3 star hotel, specially beds on whells are horrible, while you sleep you move around the room. Bungalow position to the road, stuck beetwen walls with no sun. Towels and bed linen were also suitable for lower star hotel.
Review 32:Tjasa - Animation staff
Review 33:Wifi only in lobby and bar. Food wasn't good at poolside bar. Didn't like layout of back garden, a wall separated the dinning area from the hot tub, wasn't a problem but would be nice if you could see the hot tub while sitting in dinning area however presume it was there for privacy as there apt blocks behind.
Review 34:Very friendly staff. Lovely pool. Enthusiastic staff at kids club. Nice bungalow, spacious rooms. Cleaned very well. Nice bar. Good location just up the hill from the beach and restaurants. Supermarket next door.
Review 35:Poor WiFi. Worst Sangria and Mojitos ever in pool bar and also in the main bar. Rental bikes could be better.
Review 36:Most of the staff really nice! Especially the guy in the reception. Great location, good pool for children, breakfast, dinner, etc. Had everything we really needed
Review 37:We had a problem with hot water, which somehow was persistent. It was on-off. We had to pay for hiring an old iron, ironing board quality was simply appalling. Scarce shampoo and shower gel - bring your own conditioner. Lack of wi-fi in the rooms - it should be a standard nowadays. Parking is a nightmare, there are places around the hotel, but it is hard to get one, even in the low season. To be fair - they advise that there is no parking.
Review 38:Location is fantastic and closeness of a beach and shopping centre is a bonus, especially for the self catering guests. The swimming pool is great!
Review 39:The ambience of the whole place makes you happy to be there. We went self catering because we love the restaurants at the front so cannot comment on the food at the hotel. It may be a little too big for some peoples taste, but we think it's like living in a lovely peaceful village.
Review 40:Food at the pool bar was not good!! Lots of room for improvement!! Prices fine and staff very friendly. Because of central location some rooms like ours 801 can be noisy up to midnight (hotel behind us) but it didn't bother us.
Review 41:Great location, within walking distance of beach, restaurants and shops in Adeje, cab ride to Las Americas although no need to go there at all. Hotel itself is nice, very friendly staff, nice pool. Great kids club. Fantastic fun at the foam party!!
Review 42:The kitchen was clean & well maintained but with no oven or even a toaster, it was difficult to cook a proper meal for two adults and two small children.
Review 43:The complex had lots of amenities for small children plus a varied selection of places to eat.
Review 44:Allocated an upper bungalow which was a good distance from the reception area manoeuvring luggage on cobbled pathways and then carry it up 18 steps not ideal problems with key card and turning handle for access.
Review 45:Good location easy access to other areas and local amenities
Review 46:Very nice hotel with plenty of things to do. Super swimming pool for the smallest guests. Children liked mini disco and evening shows. Fanabe and el Duque beaches are not far, we went there by feet with a small children. Supermarket is near.
Review 47:A little confusion upon checking in and the main reception man got his heckles up straight away. My mum was willing to cancel booking and go somewhere else due to his attitude. There is a lot of steps that my mum found quite difficult.
Review 48:Lovely clean spacious hotel. With all kitchen facilities in the room. COLD fridge. Polite happy staff everywhere. Entertainment every evening and something going on at the pool every day. 2nd time Ive been here and it wont be the last
Review 49:The distance of the appartment to the hotel was a little bit far. We've seen cats around the swimming pool. Wifi was not working in the apartment.
Review 50:Breakfast was very good. People of the hotel were very friendly. We were helped in our mother language ( in netherlands)
Review 51:Wifi is very pure. Shampoo and shower gel are low quality. Room cleaning is at different time every day, so you never know when they come. Breakfast and dinner are almost similar every day.
Review 52:Location is good, beach and supermarket next door. animation is really great both for kids and adults! Hotel territory is huge but really comfortable. Great kids entertainment!
Review 53:1.The service is extremely slow. We asked for a a cart or help with the luggage when we were checking out and waited for 45 minutes and no one came. We called the lobby twice and they said both times "we are on our way to your room". We ended up going three times from the room to the lobby (which was far away) to carry the luggage ourselves. 2. I would definitely not recommend this hotel for people with babies that use strollers. There are 10-30 steps to each apartment and it is hard to get the stroller and baby inside, especially if the baby is sleeping. 3. Our bed was broken. It took 2 calls and one visit to the lobby to get that fixed. 4. Internet is only in the lobby. Not in rooms or pool area. 5. The furniture are very old and look very used. If you like 80's style, this might be something for you. 6. Gym is very poor and literally had one machine with weights.
Review 54:Good location (close to supermarket and restaurants). Good pool area. Great cocktails at a reasonable price.
Review 55:Took an 18mth old baby with us(so did many guests) feel there should be a 15cm deep baby pool within the main pool area. The Pool Infantil busy with 5yr olds up and that pool's child play very dated with metal, not plastic steps and ledges-scary for little tots.
Review 56:Location superb. Catering superb. Villa superb. 9/10 !
Review 57:Unfortunately the only negative I have would be the fact that my bed although a superking size it had 2 singles pushed together so I found it difficult to sleep without waking up during the night but apart from that I don't have a bad word to say about Isabel hotel or it's staff. In fact I would say that they are a credit to their manager and deserve a lot of praise!
Review 58:The staff were always very helpful and courteous. In particular I found Simone and Oscar at the front desk absolutely fantastic in helping me with a particular request I had early during my stay - they were both very speedy and efficient in carrying out my request, absolutely top-notch and i would like to say a special thank you to both of them as they helped make my holiday all that bit more special. I also loved the way the hotel embraced the children and the fact that there was always something for them to do and all within the hotels complex because it is so big. The bar staff were also excellent providing a very professional and warm service and greatly enjoyed some of my evenings there. And last but not least I just loved the variety and quality of the food served each morning for breakfast. The breakfast staff were absolutely fantastic and the food was delicious. They truly deserve recognition and praise and I'm sure that there manager is very proud and lucky to have them.
Review 59:Bad beds with wheels under. Poor eqipment in the kitchen. Very noisy at the pool, loud techno music even though its just familie and very noise at the reception and the resturant.
Review 60:We loved the food, lovely surroundings and friendly staff.
Review 61:The noise from evening shows should be reduced. The bathroom needs to be renovated, especially bath tap. Wifi didn't work at our room (433).
Review 62:The location is perfect, far enough from bars, 10 min walk rom the beaches, close to bus stops. The hotel is clean and comfortable. Staff is polite and helpful. The food was amazing! Great choice of everything. Fresh juices every morning, soups for dinner (we had HB). Swimming pools are nice, animation team was good.
Review 63:the only drawback is the lack of parking at the hotel, but around it you can park on the streets for free. Sometimes it was a bit difficult to find a close enough parking space, but finally it worked out very well.
Review 64:everything - the staff, food, location is excellent, clean and tidy apartments and the facilities for children are amazing! You can spend the whole day at the hotel and not get bored.
Review 65:Initially we were placed in room 660 which was next to a loud ?generator, ?pool pump. After we were moved, our new room was fine.
Review 66:Excellent food. Would recommend half board.
Review 67:Probably just that little bit too far away from the bars and main resort centre and a steep walk back up hill to the hotel.
Review 68:Staff were great. Couldn't fault the entertainment for the children. Good facilities.
Review 69:Double beds are on wheels, impossible to keep them together. No coffe at lunch. These are minor things of course
Review 70:Excellent location steps from beaches and with wonderful amenities for children
Review 71:Personel could speak better english. Rooms were litle bit oldish for this price, need renovation a bit. Ocean quit far. Wifi exists almost only virtualy. Ddnt work most of the time or work extremely slow.
Review 72:All things for kids included kindergarden were great. Pool was cool also.
Review 73:The hotel is beautiful! Very clean and a great location. Family hotel with lots to do. The staff are excellent very friendly and helpful! Already planning next years trip there
Review 74:Front office staff (day shift) is not very responsive, although they are professional. It always felt as if I was bothering them asking questions and requesting things. This is 4star hotel and there is no room service?? They don't provide towels for the pool sunloungers? There was all the time noise from the pool, music, songs for kids, yes it is called "Family hotel" but that doesn't mean there are only families in the hotel. I think once a day for an hour or so should be enough of kids activities, not throughout the day, every single day. Not recommended for solo travelers or couples, this hotel is clearly for families only!
Review 75:The entire hotel, rooms, corridors, paths, every single corner is spotlessly clean! Housekeeping staff are amazing, friendly and hardworking. They hardly speak English, but that is not an obstacle to help you and respond immediately! Great can-do attitude, well done for housekeeping! Also the gentleman in front office night shift - very helpful, forthcoming and understanding - thank you for the action after my complaint! I received a chocolate and champagne the next morning, really nice action from the management.
Review 76:There were two single beds together instead of double one. Both beds were on small wheels and I nearly had an accident they went apart.
Review 77:Hotel architecture and layout of buildings are amazing ones. The apartment was very clean and nice arranged. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
Review 78:The pool's very early closing time, no WiFi in the rooms, the lack of power sockets, the somewhat broken state of the air hockey table and gaming stations.
Review 79:The enormous size and variety of the buffet, the hotel's layout and design, the many entertainment options.
Review 80:The room had so many trivial problems, such as internal doors that would not close, loose supports in the bath, curtains that did not meet and so on.
Review 81:The staff were extremely pleasant and genuinely interested in your wellbeing.
Review 82:The only addition we would have liked to see would be an oven in the self catering facilities.
Review 83:Very welcoming and helpful staff. The facilities on site offer everything you could require and the option of a private rooftop sun deck is great for people travelling without kids.
Review 84:Pretty far from the sea. When the weather is nice, its a nice walking, but we stayed at very hot weather and it was difficult to walk to/from the sea during afternoon. Animation program is pretty stupid, but I guess its everywhere. Hotel is huge, you need a lot of time to reach swimming pool or restaurant from your room. Check -in procedure at midnight was awfully unfriendly and slow.
Review 85:Good food. Clean room (although towels were dirty at the first day). No insects and no smell of chemicals. Free Wifi at lobby (not in rooms). Price/quality ratio was Ok (except in the end of July, so we moved to another hotel closer to sea at this period).
Review 86:The layout of the complex is very nice, with a village type feel. The pools are perfect for families with small children and the accommodation quite spacious and private.
Review 87:The breakfast food?? Proper saugages and omlets required Repetitive dinners same nearly every night
Review 88:Style of hotel The staff Adult roof terrace Pool bar
Review 89:The food was poor, the head waiter was rude and the restaurant was like a working man's canteen.
Review 90:The lobby and pool were fairly nice and the lobby staff were friendly and helpful.
Review 91:Some small maintenance needed in the rooms would improve the experience. wifi available only in common areas and quite slow.
Review 92:kids pool with playground - BIG HIT, best thing ever! Staff was very friendly, evening entrainment was great for families with kids.
Review 93:The air conditioning was very loud. Keeping it on during the night was like sleeping with your head next to the washing machine. And the matresses in the beds were not good, they were way to hard.
Review 94:Isabel Hotel is a wonderful family hotel that had everything we needed and wanted travelling with young children. The staff was friendly and helpful, the bungalow was nice and clean and the pool area was great. Our kids loved staying there and we would highly recommend it to all families.
Review 95:Wifi slightly slow but we were away so didn't really need it!
Review 96:There wasn't anything I didn't like. So clean, so friendly, so affordable and incredibly safe
Review 97:Almost the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. It’s suppose to be a family hotel. I stayed there for 7 days with my wife and baby of 10 months old. The worst thing – our room was dirty. I asked to clean at least floor properly as our daughter couldn't walk yet and was spending all her time on the floor. And in 30 minutes her feet, clothes and toys became grey because of dirty floor. I asked 2 times on reception and 2 times they promised me to clean my room. But that never happened. There are other things which make your stay there "unforgettable" in a bad sense: - noisy. During the day there is loud music from the pool and until midnight on the stage. - breakfasts are not good. The only good food there was bread, butter and fruits. - the worst coffee I've ever tried - kitchen in the apartment is poorly equipped with very old appliances - bath is damaged - there is no ventilation in the bathroom - twin beds are standing on wheels and moving (family apartment?!) - sofa is also consists of 2 parts which are not tied - there are just 2 electrical plugs in the apartment: one is in the kitchen, another one is in the bathroom
Review 98:location
Review 99:A bit far from the beach, about 10-15 min on foot,I al ways looked for an other exit. Some restauration would be useful for example in the bathroom.
Review 100:We were in abungalow 542. The location was perfect, close zo the pool, not too far from the restaurant. Our place was silent, the children enjoy the feeling its like a Village. The food and the animation was excellent. I really like that the apartmant was completely clean up every Day. Anyway the staff was very nice especially with the children.
Review 101:Breakfast and dinner are outstanding. Hotel is very clean, but it was strange that the dirty glasses were not washed in the room, just the staff put back to the bin
Review 102:Lack of street parking near to hotel. Receptionist unsupported when we arrived to check in. Unwelcoming. Asked to take a seat and wait whilst she processed other guests check ins (also seated waiting) whilst receptionist also dealt with other guests adhoc enquiries/requests. Not a great start.
Review 103:Location of hotel and that it was only for a few days (3). Booked elsewhere for remaining 16 days.
Review 104:No Internet in the room but the lobby had it and I never had a problem with it. If you're a very light sleeper try to request a room on a higher floor, sometimes we could hear people outside or above us moving around.
Review 105:Very nice pool. The beach was only a few minute walk, there were free buses for the major attractions that picked up a few blocks From the hotel . The staff was very friendly and would help in any way they could. We had breakfast and dinner there and both were very good.
Review 106:Been Indian Vegetarian family, we had real trouble during Dinner (we booked half board) as other than pizza there was no other hot meal with no egg/meat/fish/beef. But no complaint about hotel, expecting pure veg in Spainish Island is too big as an ask anyway. The shop inside is also a bit pricy. But you have lots of shops around the corner to buy your goods.
Review 107:Every thing... Location Facilities Pool Kids pool Kids club......special mention Parking around the hotel Bottle, chocolate and card on my birthday Staff....including at the reception, in restaurant, cleaning Variety in breakfast, also quantity Variety of drinks during the evening entertainment Evening entertainment for kids Evening entertainment for families till 11ish 5hours daily kids activity during the day Ample pool and table tennis tables Thursday and Saturday market nearby
Review 108:The pool had stones some places, never cleaned. Was disappointed withentertainments: a lot of German language, not enough live music, walkingwith fire for children was absolute nonsense (selling torches andcandles threw the performance when was not enough for everyone also badidea). Towels were too much chlorided.
Review 109:Spacious rooms, great stuff, great food
Review 110:The rooms need update, everything is working, but looks very old (not in a charming way :)). On the arrival we were not offered any help with our luggage. It was not nice to look for our room with all the stuff and two tired kids. This has spoiled the first impression completely.
Review 111:Helpful and friendly staff, especially in the restaurant, at the reception and the animation team. Nice pool, beautiful territory.
Review 112:A bit of confusion at check in, but was resolved by manager, took ages.Excellent hotel resort, will definitely be returning.
Review 113:This hotel is one of the best we've stayed in, from the staff to thefood and facilities were great too, highly recommended.
Review 114:The mall, which was the closest place to go out to eat, only had very few options of restaurants.
Review 115:The hotel is amazing for childrens, lots of activities, pool for small children and relatively close to the beach..We only had breakfast which was really good, a huge diversity of foods!
Review 116:We had no bad experience!
Review 117:we liked the design and layout. The other clients were respectful of our space. The cleaning staff were friendly and efficient. The desk staff were helpful. We appreciated the car parking facilities especially.
Review 118:did not like the beds around the pool...too close together and underneath the beds wasn't very clean. the beds are old.
Review 119:loved the spacious apartment, and the restaurant, food excellent.
Review 120:Drunken guest at the pool who wanted to take our stuff. Unfortunately, bystanders did nothing! Reported it to reception and they walked to the drunken guest. They said to hem that he was allowed to lie by the pool, in a drunken state !! Not a good feeling for me and my child. Reported this also to the reception and again nothing done. Very bad! It was noted in the log at the reception but that was all.
Review 121:Pleasant atmosphere (exept for drunken badgast by swimmingpool), many activities (if you want), nice evening program!
Review 122:My preference would be not heated pool as not refreshing when 29degrees outside! However I can understand why families with small children would like it
Review 123:Villagey style of hotel, staff always friendly and always cleaning!
Review 124:The hotel was beautifully decorated, very clean, very well run, the foodis brilliant (even for fussy eaters like myself) can't recommendthis hotel enough
Review 125:Hotel staff speak poor english even at front desk. One of the receptionist directed me with my 3 year old son to different direction when I ask her where is bus stop for Tenerife pearl shop . You have to rent ( pay 14EU) for the safe box, something that already in the room and should be included in room rate.I read in reviews that rooms there are outdated but still I was wery suprised how outdated they are... Breakfast is just OK,(Coffee Terrible) Had half board first time and was very suprised that drinks are not inclided not even water or tea or juice or coffee at dinner time. Overall experience - feel like you just another ''room number ''for staff.Staff looked tiered , overworked and not interested.. Were planning on traveling there back in September with more family members but not any more.
Review 126:Good location, good children's facilities.
Review 127:Family bungalow has twin beds instead of a single matrimony bed
Review 128:We couldn't get a late check out but could stay by the pool till later and given a courtesy room for a hot shower
Review 129:Self catering without a kettle to make a cup of tea in the morning as self catering as not everybody uses a coffee maker....
Review 130:Location and swimming pool with plenty of sun loungers. Stayed in apartment at hotel apartment was nice with view looking over the sea. Helpful staff at reception. Nice to be able to use the hospitality suite as we had late night flight.
Review 131:Cats outside our accommodation Had to change original bungalow offered Hobs in kitchen only one worked but changed immediately on request
Review 132:How good the service was from all of the hotel staff The design of the hotel accommodation building The best swimming pool I have ever been in
Review 133:Shower dated but didn't affect my holiday still had a great to time
Review 134:Really enjoyed my holiday here will visit again! Supermarkets shops and beaches all within short walking distance and adeje market over the road on a thurs and sat. Siam free bus over the road and little road train run on the hour. We had a bungalow it was very nice only thing I could fault was the shower was a bit dated but on whole great holiday with very helpful friendly staff
Review 135:Apartments are dated, bathroom needs redecorating. It says there is a hairdryer but it shouldn't be called that, it barely creates warm air!
Review 136:Pleasant staff, size of apartments is good
Review 137:Although the food was good it got a bit boring after the first week. The animation team were fab but it's very German orientated.
Review 138:Location and facilities great for everyone.
Review 139:Over the years the bathrooms have got a bit tired looking, and the 2 ring electric cooker only had 1 ring working, but we will return soon.
Review 140:The staff are very friendly and efficient. The Hotel is in a great location. Very pretty exterior - looks like a little village.
Review 141:Noise from neighboring room through the thin door which was used for connecting two bungalows together.
Review 142:Travelled with 2 kids and wife. Had bungalow for 4 nights. Clean area and room, Hotel is within walking distance to Fanabe beach.
The Fine Print
Please note that the hotel's restaurant has a dress code for dinner. Men must wear trousers.
