Reviews for Hotel Calabahia & SPA
Review 1:the pool is closed after high season
Review 2:After season but good location. Friendly staff. Unique terrace and with car 15 minutes in Malaga. Definitelly will come back :)
Review 3:As we were there in low season there was plenty of car parking space, but I can imagine it would be very limited in the summer. It's €7 extra per night, it might be nice if it was just part of the booking price rather than an extra. Wifi is only available in the lobby.
Review 4:Very friendly staff. I booked a room with a terrace which was very spacious and had a view of the sea. Breakfast selection was good. Lovely rooftop terrace.
Review 5:no coffee facilities in room, no bar, very poor breakfast. We'd have got a better reception in a two star. If their going to reduce facilities then they should have told us
Review 6:room was ok
Review 7:The shower trickled and probably needed a new shower head. The dark lighting of the corridors...sometimes the sensor didn't work and there wasn't any light!
Review 8:The easy access to beach/shops/restaurants. Pool on roof and views. The peace and quiet around the pool.
Review 9:the hotel is located in a quiet typical spanish village. easy access to the beach, within walking distance to Rincon. only a short ride from Malaga city centre.
Review 10:The fridge had been turned off and was empty but the water from it had run out. It was very very hot so we had no water or other drinks during the night so my wife was a little ill by the time we got to breakfast. At breakfast the noise by people scraping their chairs on the floor was overbearing at times, could do with rubber on the bottom of the legs or carpet not ideal first thing in the morning.
Review 11:Easy to find, not far from the autovia and close to the beach.
Review 12:No Wi-Fi. I would expect it in the four star hotel. Additional chargesto use internet in the lobby, just one English language channel intv(CNN for Africa), top floor bar often left unattended.
Review 13:Very clean.
Review 14:Run down, even shabby, very dark 4**** hotel. Personnel varied, some nice, some tough, all working without passion; i really missed 'soul', a feeling of hospitality. WiFi only in lobby. Alas, past glory, which is a pity, because refurbishment of building ánd training hospitality to lobby personnel, might result in a revival of this hotel.
Review 15:Good location near beach and small city centre. Swimming pool at 6th Floor was great.
Review 16:Only an overnight stay so nothing really to say about it. Was exactly what I wanted. Nearby free parking beside a large supermarket, Yards from the beach; Good value. Nice roof top pool and sea view.
Review 17:With more attention paid to little things, like cleaning the outside of the room windows, more choice at breakfast, manning the pool diner & bar etc, - this hotel could be excellent. It just seems in need of TLC !
Review 18:Size of room, king size bed, fantastic rooftop pool
Review 19:No Wifi in the room and TV with only 10 channels and the size of a computer monitor. No spa services available despite photo suggesting massage.
Review 20:Roof deck but spoiled by kids jumping into a bathtub sized pool.
Review 21:Not noted on web page that facillites not available until high season. No tea and coffee in the rooms. Room not refreshed daily. Difficult to find as down a back street.
Review 22:The staff were wonderful especially Conche on reception who went the extra mile for us
Review 23:Fitst, I want to say thank you to staff for helping us. Actually we were beyond excited on our journey in this town so we swimed at the beach and I got jelly-fish shot on my legs(Scars Looked serious and so hurt) I asked staff where should I go to get some medicine (It was christmas day and most of stores are closed) and she searched and taught us the way to get the pharmacy in malaga so I'm still alive... lol thank u so much again. Room and bed were clean, we got a room with great view of the beach so We coule watch the sun rise on bed!!, also hotel is located right near the beach and restaurants area. My trip for this small town is full of good memories!
Review 24:The room was spacious ,a small but nice swimming pool on the top of the hotel. The area was a bit quiet compared to Rincon. The Spa was average. Most of the staff spoke English
Review 25:no wifi no free parking quality of food (none of which were major in the light of what we wanted)
Review 26:location comfort great value close to Malaga city friendly village atmosphere good beach reasonable food / restaurants in the area roof top buffet and small pool a great facilty to have available although we preferred the beach
Review 27:Rooms are a little dreary since they don't have balconies and don't get tons of light. But otherwise very comfortable.
Review 28:The roof top pool is an absolute winner! Views are incredible out over the bay in 3 directions. There is a bar and the pool whilst small is very clean.
Review 29:Noisy street in the morning. WIFI in the lobby only, altough internet by cable available in the rooms.
Review 30:Nice rooms, close to the beach. Nice personal.Good location to reach the highways. Easy to make excursions to Gibraltar, Cordoba, Granada, Sevilla.
Review 31:Awful noise from next door neighbours until 5am!
Review 32:Not really 4 star, but okay.
Review 33:Best value for money, Close to sea. 10min drive to Malaga . Very helpful staff
Review 34:Great hotel, great location, and like the managers of it.
Review 35:-

Review 43:Nice staff, pool area very good.convenient for beach shops restaurants
Review 44:no GYM
Review 45:Near beach
Review 46:No complaints at all.
Review 47:Very nice good locatio . Central for all places and pool on roof top mostly quiet . Bonus Excellent attentive staff
Review 48:Ran out of food at breakfast due to tour groups eating everything in sight.
Review 49:Onsite parking for free.
Review 50:nothing
Review 51:Great location and having a pool in the hotel was a perfect way to grab some sun and relax .
Review 52:Big room, pool and views, staff, location
Review 53:only wifi in public areaes only one pillow
Review 54:sun terrace, location, room size and cleaness
Review 55:no UK TV to watch room with a sea view if you put your head out of the window!
Review 56:people great
Review 57:The spa not open.
Review 58:Restaurant closed. Not able to access "spa".
Review 59:Nice room
Review 60:Big hotel for a small town, felt very impersonal
Review 61:Lovely big room and bathroom. Could just see the sea from bedroom window.
Review 62:Stayed approx ten times now. Great little hotel in a lovely small town which has charm and charecter
Review 63:large room; relatively quite area; close to beach; on site undeground car park; close to main roads; easy access to Malaga by car
Review 64:The staff were excellent
Review 65:Easy to go to beach! Supermarket and restaurant are very close. The room was very clean, quietly and big. Staffs are friendly and kindness.
Review 66:Having to pay extra
Review 67:no balcony
Review 68:staff at reception
Review 69:Rooms very noisy..
Review 70:Location, just outside Malaga in a laidback town and very close to the beach.
Review 71:Location,parking,rooms,staff helpful ,only 15mins from malaga on bus 1.35euro can't beat that .
Review 72:mediocre area outside hotel, nothing to inspire you
Review 73:good breakfast
Review 74:The Staff very friendly. The room was very spacious and clean, the beds were very comfortable. Once we had Breakfast at the Hotel, and they have many choices. My Husband loved the rooftop pool. The beach is just a few steps away from the hotel, and is a very nice beach.
Review 75:We didn't like the restaurant in the bathroom and thought that the pool hours could be extended considerably. There was also mould in our bathroom by the bath. We found the jacuzzi pool in our room disappointing!
Review 76:We loved the terrace pool and found the staff really friendly
Review 77:we were only supplied with four toilet papers for the five days we stayed in the hotel.
Review 78:friendly staff ,family oriented rooftop swimming pool and near the beach.
Review 79:I think the pool should not be so deep at one end as no lifeguard is on duty. If pool was the same 1.2 metre depth throughout, then an adult could rescue any child in difficulty with ease. I think an extra sheet of perspex or glass should cover the outside perimeter of pool area so that no one will get too close to the edge.
Review 80:Friendly staff at reception and at pool. Checked in to hotel within one minute and checking out was just as quick. Very impressed with hotel
Review 81:Just a 1 min walk to the beach. Little supermarket right next to the hotel. Restaurants, bank etc. very close to the hotel. The Pool on the hotel roof. The Spa is not at all expensive.
Review 82:We arrived and the male receptionist was in a bad mood. Not smiling! He was kinda suprised we appeared at the front desk, because he wasasking our booking number in a very arrogant way and was asking whendid we book the hotel etc.. It wasn't a comfortable asking andreplying. The shower towel was dirty, many insects in the bathroom andno WiFi in the room.
Review 83:The view from the room. The female receptionist was kind and gentle.
Review 84:The staff speaks very poor English. We ordered tea in the room and it look us long to explain what we wanted and the staff couldn't tell the price, and we had to pay additional 24 euro for a rubbish cold tea (6 euro per person).
Review 85:Very well located, close to the beach- only 2 minutes away. Well connected to Malaga city by bus which runs every 15 min and takes 15 min to reach city center where most of the attractions are.
Review 86:At 10 in the evening when I went to the restaurant there was notanymore, anything to eat. They don´t have a proper restaurant and thefood even if exists is bad.
Review 87:Outside windows needed a clean. Otherwise all good.
Review 88:Great loaction near sea but also close to main bus routes to Malaga. Most tourists at the hotel and in the local town were Spanish and thelocal restaurtants on the beach were all serving local specialities andthis was what we liked very much.
Review 89:Staff don't have enough English to communicate with guests withquestions.tea/coffee making facilities required.nicer with balcony andsea view.staff could be friendlier.good stay in general.liked the area
Review 90:Asked staff 3 times to open unsafe which was locked upon arrival without success. No Wifi Air Conditioning could only run on 0% or 100%. Spotlight outside room was broken. Crack in staircase No bar staff during midday at pool area. Mixed booking with other visitors Doors closed automatically causing them to slam. Temperature in shower shifting between perfect/ice cold/hot. Uncomfortable bed
Review 91:Well cleaned room Elevators never occupied Friendly Staff
Review 92:Room for 3 persons: 3rd bed small and rather uncomfortable (childrensbed?). Lack of view from room. Reception area totally lackingathmosphere. All in all good value for money, can recommend.
Review 93:Wonderful rooftop view. Hotel near beach/sea. Spacious room. Internet inroom (ask for cable, 2 euro deposit). Very good breakfast for only 7euro P.P. Airconditioned room (very nice in hot summer). Very friendlyand helpful staff. Check out the tapas place on the little squarenearby, great authentic Spanish food (and incredibly low bill).

Review 100:Staff we're hugely accommodating and couldn't do enough for you. Loved the rooftop pool
Review 101:Restaurant - loud echoing room, dry meat and fish
Review 102:Near beach Great service Swimming pool Great beds Spacial rooms
Review 103:Although the room was clean in general, they should dust a bit more
Review 104:Very quite and very close to the beach
Review 105:position service distance from main interesting place
Review 106:room price
Review 107:Bathroom is very old and not clean enough. No terrace/balcony.
