Reviews for Hotel Presidente
Review 1:Ironically the location as well, its next to a fairy large school and you can hear the bell's every hour and a loud speaker and the kids signing the anthem very very early. The opposite side of the hotel might be better, so if you stay you might want to ask for a room on that side.
Review 2:Location was close to the historic downtown area.
Review 3:Room without air conditioning is no good for people from other country like Miami, Florida, and what happen when you open the window for air to mouch noise outside, I don't sleep relax because I love very cool A/C, the rest is okay
Review 4:The staff is amazing. Everything we requested, and we did a lot, they went out of their way to provide graciously. Great bang for the buck! And eggs cooked to order at nice breakfast.
Review 5:Located in the heart of the city, the hotel is a great jumping-off point for seeing all the sights. Staff is great and speaks English. The 9th-floor restaurant has wonderful food and drinks and stunning views of the city. Bed was quite comfortable.
Review 6:The hotel lobby is very modern/contemporary - the rooms are not (the website photos are a bit deceiving). There is no air conditioning - and I needed to open the window at night to get some air. Then you hear all the street noise - so if you're a light sleeper this would be tough. (Actually you hear street noise even with the window closed!) The entire street in front of the hotel is torn up - under construction - making it hard for a taxi to get there (however this is not the hotel's fault). Even though wi-fi was advertised, and I was able to "connect", I never seemed to be able to get to any actual websites. I was, however, able to use the hotel's computers in the lobby.
Review 7:The location is great - close to everything in the historic district. The staff - most of whom spoke some English! - went out of their way to make me feel at home and comfortable! Since I speak very little Spanish they made restaurant reservations for me, arranged for transportation to the airport, etc. They also helped me with printing boarding passes on their hotel computers (in Spanish, of course!) The price was very reasonable - given the location. And they have elevators - most places you have to walk up steps!
Review 8:Thin walls allow in noise from street. OK most of the time, but a party or disco kept us awake until 3am the first night -- a Saturday.
Review 9:Helpful and friendly staff. Decent place in good location for seeing the historic area. Good wifi, hot water. No heat or AC, but these are not needed in Cuenca. Bed was firm but not uncomfortable. Assuming all floors are numbered the same, on high floors rooms numbered 01-4 get some sunrise; 06-09 some sunset. Rooms 01 and 10 should get good sunrise. Breakfast on 9 is good; so is restaurant and bar, same floor.
Review 10:Location for sure is the top motivation, but I realize breakfast it's really completed, rooms very confortable, good and friendly service, the best view in the city, and at the end FREE transportation to the airport was perfect to close my business visit.
Review 11:The staff was amazingly friendly and accommodating and the service was impeccable. For example, when I asked directions to the post office, instead of just giving me the directons, the front desk clerk walked me there.
Review 12:Elevator stopped twice which was freaky. Also (but this can't be helped) the tram line is being built in the front so there was some (not too much) slight construction noice
Review 13:Great service and lovely views from the rooms
Review 14:Would have liked to have a Coffee Maker in the room. Ecuador, strangely enough, is not noted for great coffee that American's are used to. Wish they also had a better way to handle things that needed to go in their safe. We were transferring items in and out in full view of everyone who may be passing by the front window of the hotel. That made us a little uneasy. Maybe an in-room safe would make more sense.
Review 15:Nice room, clean, functional. Nice location. Great staff!! Very professional. They also worked with us on our language barrier.
Review 16:It's not worth this price, at the pictures rooms look brand new, but actually they are old, it's very noisy because the windows and doors are old and bad, also the bathroom wasn't pleasant. If you really want to rest and relax I wouldn't recommend this plase, it's totally overpriced.
Review 17:The hotel's stuff is really nice and helpful, also the view from the window was great.
Review 18:booking a tour to at Ingapirca taxi was not ok but director of the hotel had repair this with a nice credit
Review 19:director Fernando was very nice good English and reception service also the restaurant was very good and service also
Review 20:I felt very welcome from the minute I made the booking until I departed the hotel. We hotel guests are the top priority. The restaurant service and food are very good.
Review 21:We booked with booking.com about 4 weeks in advance with the request of a room on the upper floors. We got one on the fourth floor with the view of a construction zone, mold in the bathroom and stains in the carpet. Then we requested a different room, got one the next day, sounded great. After another day we were told that there is a problem due to overbooking the hotel (festival in Cuenca on the weekend), and they would work on a "solution". Before that we asked to stay for 11 days and they gave us an offer which we accepted. We tried to be helpful and left for the weekend to travel to another town. When we paid the bill we were charged additional fees that we were not informed before. Also, we had to pay for a breakfast that we were also not told to pay extra.
Review 22:Location
Review 23:It would be nice to have some English channels on t.v.
Review 24:Very clean and quiet and the location was excellent. Welcome cocktail and a bottle of water in the room.
Review 25:The beds were too firm, we are not accustomed to mattresses of that nature.
Review 26:The staff were fabulous, smart, helpful, always pleasant & delightful! The hotel as clean, beautiful & the food was very good.
Review 27:Room cleaners needs to pay attention to the number of guests in a room. They are always short one or two sets of towels
Review 28:The location, the breakfast, the staff speaks english
Review 29:The staff was excellent, so helpful. Breakfast was excellent. We had our dog with us and they welcomed her with open arms. We definitely will stay here again, when in Cuenca
Review 30:Hotel was a little dated.
Review 31:Location was great for our needs. Staff were very helpful and welcoming. Food good, price great. Great value for your money.
Review 32:Beds a bit hard.
Review 33:Right across the street from the beach. Big clean rooms. Fantastic A/C. 2 beds. $61/night. In US this would cost at least $350.
Review 34:1. Rooms are noisy, not good sound proofing 2. Lift engine on the roof noisy 3. Lift broke down one evening, but was fixed quite fast 4. Add a safe deposit box to each room, el safe or something along this lines 5. Put proper room locks in each room, current key system extremely old fashioned. 6. Ask someone to design a better city map of Cuenca, currently one very difficult to read
Review 35:1. Loccation of the hotel is good 2. Staff very helpful 3. Breakfast service was fine
Review 36:Same breakfast selection every morning. No air conditioning so opened the window but being near the street and across from the school it was noisy. No refrigerator in room. When hotel was full there wasn't any hot water at 8AM. Not an issue if you get up early or the hotel isn't packed.
Review 37:Staff and restaurant/bar were nice. Breakfast was OK but didn't have dinner there. Room was clean but missing things you would expect in the US. Don't forget where you are :)
Review 38:Bed on low slats with mattress worn thin in middle - Room faced huge school playground with 200 kids there all day - No fan in bathroom so room got humid - Water only warm not hot - Only 1 trash can between room & bath - Breakfast just OK with coffee hard to get - Lobby printer broken - WiFi in room often uselees
Review 39:Friendly staff - Elevators - Woodwork in room - Windows actually opened - Quartz counters in bathroom - View from 6th floor room & 9th floor bar - Location close to historic sites
Review 40:From the moment of booking to leaving, we had a great experience with an American type hotel in the heart of Cuenca. The staff is very friendly, the entire hotel and rooms have been updated to an American type hotel with the Latin friendliness.
Review 41:Breakfast was limited some days and the Internet signal variable in my room.
Review 42:I travel a lot and the attention and help from staff at this hotel was as good as I have had anywhere. The restaurant was also better than renowned restaurants in the centre.
Review 43:Rooms are small. No window insulation so street noise is a problem. Overall its just too much money for what is basically a bare-bones hotel. No lounge or common area whatsoever. WIFI was weak as well.
Review 44:Location.
Review 45:the uniforms of some peopleof the recepcion area are in bad conditions, some of its need to be cleaned are not a table for eat, write, etc. the hot water service are inadequate and insufficient the TV is in bad location very bad panoramic view to a public courtyard interior with very bad and poor conditions of maintenance and cleaning No on-site parking and the service is 4 blocks far of hotel entrance poor Wi Fi connection in rooms the hotel don´t have climatización
