Reviews for Rheinperle
Review 1:Our room was lovely, large and very comfortable with the wonderful view of the Rhine. It was only a 5 minute walk away from the centre of St Goar. The breakfast was delicious and beautifully displayed.
Review 2:We had a close and remarkable view of the Rhine and the castle on the opposite side(Katz) Room was large and airy. The woman manager was excellent, and responsive .breakfast was good.
Review 3:too noisy due to trains passing by all night. Credit cards are not accepted although it is a touristic area
Review 4:location is good, value for money for room is quite OK. Breakfast is nice
Review 5:The road directly in front of hotel was being re-paved. The workers began working very early in the morning. It looks almost done. We were there Sept-10,11,12-14.
Review 6:Very nice breakfast included. Comfortable place, family owned small hotel. No elevator, bring your bags up to second floor. Clean and friendly.
Review 7:Right behind the hotel is a high speed trainline and they go even during the night and early morning. Couldn't sleep. Even though our room also had Rhine view , it was also on the main road. So it was either the train or the cars. Room wise , we paid Eur 145 for the family room it did not have a small refrigerator or kettle and the beds were only temporary and rickety. The decor was from 1980s( which was not exactly exciting but I can live with) The wifi was Eur 1 per hour per device! Seriously ?? And even then it did not work. At all!! The breakfast was simple , all cold but no change in the menu on any day and by day3 we were bored beyond and kids wanted to eat out. How hard would it be to get some croissants from the nearby bakery? The owners leave the hotel at night and you have to let yourselves in. The wife opens the hotel in the morning and does not speak a word of English and you cannot talk to her. I later realised that the room we were given was different from the pictures on booking.com. On snooping a bit I found the room in the picture at the back of the hotel. On questioning the owner, he said he was giving us the Rhine view room as a surprise !! He accidentally let out that the charge for the room we were staying in was Eur 119( it looked like a triple room with an extra bed) but he still charged us Eur 145 per night and we did not have the energy to fight. In the end we decided to leave the hotel a night early, (it was spoiling our holiday for all the reasons above). The owner did not care !! All in all, a bad experience. We stayed at Marriott in Paris on our way back at a cheaper price and all facilities included. That says it all. In short, AVOID this hotel .
Review 8:The room was fairly clean.
Review 9:The so called terrace is basically a 3 foot concrete foot path between your room and the train tracks. Lots of heavy train traffic all night long. The shower is part of the room and has no door but also with the special feature of no exterior window curtain to the outside terrrace where your neighbors walk right by and get a free peek. Hall toilet. Smells like bug spray and Fabreeze. WiFi signal does not reach room on any of our four devices. Not worth $200 a night. This is basically a 20 year old one star establishment (More like a Pension to me) and the rooms should be priced accordingly.
Review 10:The towels are good. The breakfast rolls are also good.
Review 11:The hallway had a stale smell of beer from the pool hall next door. Thankfully the room was very clean and fresh with a great view.
Review 12:The main road immediately outs ide the hotel which phots don't show - it was not noisy however
Review 13:No wifi Had to pay in cash after two nights
Review 14:Nice clean room
Review 15:Wifi, cash payment
Review 16:Location, bed, breakfast
The Fine Print
Please note the hotel does not have a lift.
