Review 1：This "guesthouse" was a non-cosy, dark dwelling. The lights were comparable to candle-lights. No cleaning services, unfriendly, unhelpful staff (exception Gerhard). Impossible to agree or understand the rating of 8.2.

Review 2：There is no swimming pool like on photos, but you have a sea nearby so you probably will not need it, howewer they haven't got it.

Review 6：We booked a small appartment with a pool! When we booked there were photos and comments about the pool!! During the day they sent me a message to say that they didnt have any more apparments only a room... but infact the pool doesn't exist!! Anywhere... when l spoke to owner he was embaressed and during that day the photos were taken off the site... he also want us to pay more for the bedroom then the appartment!!

Review 8：Juan Dolio is pretty boring. Suit good families. There're no big supermarkets, some bars & restaurants are close by.

Review 9：The location is good,the beach is just a few min walk, the room is quite small, but with all you need, even safe box and air-condition, there's also a kitchen and free wi-fi.

Review 11：What we need it was only steps away like: Groceries shopping, dinner, beach. We only stayed 2 days, and keep going to Jarabacoa.

Review 12：The location is a bit far away from the public beach. I have been coming to Juan Dolio for the past 3 years and the place seems to become more and more sketchy. I would go a bit east to bayahibe instead.

Review 13：apartment was really spacious (bed space for 5 people) and at a great price. The owner is an incredibly nice person and will help you with anything.

Review 14：Internet at my location was off and on and never fast. However this appeared to be a widespread problem at other properties, restaurants, etc. No hot water but no great loss.

Review 15：I stayed at an overflow property, which to me was a superior location, so had little interaction with the host Wilfrid, who speaks good english, spanish, and presumably german. When I did deal with him he was more than accomodating and quite friendly.

Review 16：The hostel is great, near to the beach, you've got everything, the room is conformable and clean, and the owner is very nice. He drove me to the airport for a reasonable price and he is always asking if everything is okay. My stay in the Guesthouse Juan Dolio was amazing and very recommendable for all kind of travellers.

Review 19：*The ''hot'' water of the shower was more warm then hot, sometimes a bit cold. *The TV service was suspended in the 3rd of my 7 days stay and never came back.

Review 20：*I stayed in one of the biggest room of the Guesthouse with all the conveniences I needed and the air-conditioning. I only had to pay a small additonnal amount for the air-conditioning. *The owner is great! For a very good price, he gave me lifts from and to the airport, brought me to a supermarket, to the bank and to Bayahibe for a nice trip to Saona island and his employee made my laundry. *The beach is very near, only a few steps away.

Review 21：My only complaint would be that the water pressure for the shower was low. Takes a little longer to rinse off. Everything else was fine. :)

Review 24：We only needed a room until 1am following morning to catch our flight. The owner is very friendly & helpful, he even took us to the airport at 1am for a reasonable price. The room had a fan, bathroom and one double bed. It was very clean. The pool was great, our son loved it. It also was a nice size and very clean. For $20 dollars USD it was excellent value.
