Reviews for Hosteria Dos Chorreras
Review 1:The room they first showed me didn't have all the amenities I had booked. The manager dismissed my inquiry saying that Booking never makes mistakes. I showed him the reservation, he looked surprised and after consulting with staff told me that the room in the pics doesn't exist anymore, so he offered a 15% discount on one that had a fireplace, as I had booked (more expensive than what I previously had), which did not seem fair to me at all. Ultimately, after 15 minutes of haggling with me, he reluctantly gave me a room with the things I had in my booking. I think it was totally unnecessary to make me feel bad about getting what was offered online. He kept stating that he did not know where Booking got those pictures from. I really do not know whose responsability it was, but, What you see is what you get, right?
Review 2:I love the sights, the country feel, how the place is built into showcase nature around it. Super relaxed, and with fun activities
Review 3:The heater in our room didn't work real well and we had a very cold room in the mornings... The rooms and the bathroom are very tiny very little room left after putting our bags in the space.
Review 4:The location is absolutely gorgeous up in the Andes (13,500 feet!) the drive to it from Guayaquil is about 3 hours bit's over very good highways. The bathroom has radiant heat flooring which makes it wonderful to walk on. Plenty of hot water and very nice towels provided. The hotel store had excellent local products at prices that were very reasonable (and in $USD which is also the local currency)
Review 5:Wasn't able to use the Jacuzzi Bathtub. The Hot water would run out well before the tub was starting to fill up. ALSO be prepared to acclimate to high altitude. We brought altitude medication prior to going, and still felt a little woozy for the first night. Other than that our time was fantastic
Review 6:I liked everything about this Hotel. Its Charming and Unique structural style, amazing mountain views. The service was excellent. Their staff was friendly, efficient, and we felt like VIP. Thank you Antonio, he transported us wherever we needed to go. Food was delicious, not to mention there are plenty of activities to do.
Review 7:Radiator took too long to heat up the room. Hot water was inadequate for morning showers.
Review 8:Beautiful hotel that takes advantage of its natural surroundings. Helpful nighttime staff.
Review 9:Walking to waterfalls and encountering a herd of llamas and deer. Beautiful and unique setting with a very attentive staff. We would do this again!
Review 10:Temperature too cold in the room and facility.
Review 11:Built in harmony with the nature around it
Review 12:Noisy, stupid guests, and no one available in the hotel to ask them to quiet down! At 2 AM I finally walked upstairs to the common sitting area (just over our bedroom) and told them in my broken spanish to go to sleep! They weren't even staying in that part of the hotel - they were staying in a separate building, but were taking advantage of the sitting area/fireplace. The next morning, NO hot water, dysfunctional showerhead too.
Review 13:We arrived on Saturday at about 1 pm, and luckily for us the weather was fine. We hiked up the hill way past the historical village, then I took a fabulous whirlpool bath (nice, hot water), and my husband relaxed.
Review 14:In our Room: *Poor wifi *TV does not work *No hot water *Poor water pressure In common areas: *Poor English at front desk *No input on things to do in area *Amenities very expensive *Worst overall value in Ecuador at this price point......we received a better experience for 1/2 $
Review 15:Beautiful vistas Hotel common areas are special Restaurant OK
Review 16:We froze; the many stone fireplaces were lovely, but unlit. Heater in our room was old and inadequate. Hot water was insufficient (ran out mid-shower first morning; had none until late morning next day). Poor service, with some exceptions.
Review 17:The lodge itself and the setting were gorgeous. The restaurant was very good.
