Reviews for Cortijo los Iberos "Casa Ibero"

Review 1:Dogs entering the kitchen area. I like dogs quite a lot but not in places where I eat. Parking in front of the house is a bit extreme.

Review 2:Well equipped kitchen, nice garden, beautiful views, excellent breakfast. Area around Bubion full of places for short single day trips, you are going to love it. Gorge is very beautiful too.

Review 3:The location and view over the mountains was great and the buildings were quirky and charming - no cookie cuter hotel. There was also a nice walking bath right by the propery. Host bery nice

Review 4:Breakfast consist of local hand made marmelades and tomato pate, which are very delicious. However for those looking some local cheese or meat products - better buy your own food and bring it to the breakfast.

Review 5:Very nice and friendly host. Beatiful neighbourhood - very calm and nice view over the mountains. You can visit Bubion and restaurant there by going 10-15 min over a nice trial down the house (no necessity to move your car!). You can chill out and relax lying on the terasse, sipping a glas of wine or beer, and admiring the landscape. The kitchen is a separate house, open 24h, you can enter anytime, make tee, coffe, grab some beer from the fridge - a great advantage!

Review 6:Nothing. It is great

Review 7:Location is truely fantastic! Montse, the owner welcomes you as a part of the family. This place is quirky but so so full of character.

Review 8:Difficult to state any miscomings

Review 9:Magnificent rural countryside; excellent local cuisine in Bubion. Self catering and excellent culinary skills of the hostess, "Moncy"

Review 10:Takes time to reach the place (30km from higway ~50mins), I would suggest to do this in day time because of view and the road itself. Car parking is not very convenient with very little space to turn around, the weakest point of this hotel. TV was not showing channels, view was falling apart (DVBT), not much use of it.

Review 11:Place is amazing, view is perfect, calm and quiet. Room was big. City Bubion is a bit far ~10min by foot but thats why it's so calm. Bubion is not very big, food in restaurants is realy good. Good place to stay for short mountine walks

Review 12:This property is amazing and gorgeous. It literally looks out onto the Sierra mountains and valley. The room was quite large, with a hallway to the bathroom. Breakfast in the morning was delicious. The pool is great. If I'm ever in the bubion area I will absolutely stay here!

Review 13:having to leave this lovely oasis!!

Review 14:everything, from the location of the Casa, to the Casa itself - wonderful views, beautiful garden and the swimming pool is a godsend after a hot day in the mountains. A very quirky place, but one of the loveliest we have stayed in. We'll definitely be going back.

Review 15:The worst experience about Casa Ibera is leaving, but the memory will stay with you. My friends who came with me said that Granada is the best city they have ever visited and that Casa Ibera is the best place they have ever stayed.

Review 16:The views are exceptional and it is probably the wackiest place you will ever stay. This was my second visit and it hopefully will not be my last. From the time you arrive to the time you leave you are treated like friends or even family.

Review 17:Basic but authentic with all the needed comfort, large room, great pool, nice view, breakfast with home-made spreads, walking tour between Bubion/Pampaneira/Capillera starts in the garden of the house.

Review 18:The place is very pretty: nice furniture inside and excellent views outside. The owner Montse was very kind and helpful. The breakfast was local and original, standing out from the local fare. I would certainly come back for more.

Review 19:Nothing, everything was perfect.

Review 20:The position of the property overlooking the Poqueira valley was stunning. The host was friendly and very helpful. The room was decorated with ethnic wall hangings and had everything we needed. The gardens were terraced with a variety of sitting areas in sun and shade, all with amazing views. Breakfast was fabulous, with strawberries and conserves made with produce from the garden. The value for money is incredible! Thank you for a wonderful few days.

Review 21:Nothing at all but strong colours may not suit everyone

Review 22:Gardens and space of this property combined with the outstanding views from the various terraces great outdoor room with kitchen facilities and more Landlady so welcoming thank you for our stay it I done we shall always remember

Review 23:The owner, Montse, couldn't have been more helpful. Lovely place to relax after a busy day walking. Good local restaurants in Bubion, our favourite being Teide.

Review 24:It's a great location but not very easy to find. It's a good idea to get clear directions beforehand and a better sign on the road would be a good idea too.

Review 25:This is a lovely quirky place to stay, with a relaxed welcoming atmosphere. The room was clean and warm.

Review 26:The view was great, our host very friendly and helpful. She makes lots of tasty home made jams and other products from her garden which you can have for breakfast or buy. I love the communal kitchen space where we met other guests and had interesting chats with them. The atmosphere was great and we really enjoyed the beautiful surroundings. Also near a great tapas bar/restaurant:)

Review 27:Very friendly welcome. Great kitchen facilities. Good warm heating during colder weather. Wonderful garden with lots of places to sit in the sunshine.

Review 28:Relax! Ahhh that's better. If you're stressed out and really want to unwind the serenity here is what you need. The views across the valley and the walks either on the road or the walking tracks to the neighbouring villages will put you at ease. The hosts were friendly and unflustered and made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. The facilities were great. We had a cottage (with a full sized fridge) and made use of the well equipped kitchen/dining area. Great Value! Loved it.

Review 29:I have no complaints

Review 30:The owner, Monserret, was so lovely and accommodating. The room where we stayed was clean and cozy with heaters and plenty of heavy blankets and hot water. The hotel is just north of the main downtown so it was quiet and peaceful, but an easy walk for food and shopping.

Review 31:Too cold at night in the room. Even with a heater, we were cold in bed. Maybe they're not prepared yet for the cold weather. We appreciate the nice host. But we consider it to be a bit expensive.

Review 32:The host is very nice and friendly. She showed us around when we arrived and gave us useful information about the surrounding area. Our room has a very nice view. The house is surrounded by an organic garden. Unfortunately, it's winter, so we didn't get to visit it. Kitchen is equipped but it's a cabin detached from the house. We used it to make 2 simple meals. Should be very nice in warmer weather.

Review 33:it was set high up in the mountains and we were able to watch the light change over the hills and valleys. The host was so warm and happy and keen to share information and advise us about where to hike.

Review 34:Such a warm welcome from the Spanish sisters. In an amazing position with great views from the pool and terrace. Lovely fresh vegetables from the garden every day.

Review 35:Superb location with amazing views in very pretty village. Lovely surroundings with many peaceful areas to relax. Very friendly and helpful host who had freshly picked some fruit and veg from her garden. Would definitely stay again.

Review 36:Breakfast with beautiful home made toppings, but could be improved by serving cheeses for those who like a savoury breakfast.

Review 37:Excellent location, very pretty and quiet. Refreshingly different. Excellent value for money.

Review 38:This is place to truly relax and so different for the usual run of the mill hotel. Everytnhing you need is there but's it's really funky. The grounds are wonderful with a good pool and a view that you won't better

Review 39:Very helpful staff. Always available for help. Nice swimming pool with view on the mountains. Fresh vegetables available from own garden. Great garden to relax and take a drink or meal.

Review 40:Fabulous quiet place just on outskirts of Bubion with wonderful views, a lovely garden (from which we ate), and a cute little pool. The owner was really lovely. We also ate dinner one night which was excellent. A lovely place to relax and a good base for walking.

Review 41:I guess the best of Cortijo Los Iberos is that Montse, the host, really makes you feel at home. After several days in the busy and crowded Costa del Sol, being at el cortijo was like being in a spa. We felt like we were staying in our own little place in the country side, with a swimming pool and a nice garden to enjoy breakfasts & dinners with a view. Don't expect a luxurious room, but a cosy, relaxed and beautiful place where you'll feel at home and you'll sure want to go back to.

Review 42:You shold be quite fit to climb down and up, the 28 steps in the entrence, everytime you go somewhere. It was difficult for me travelling with a 2 y old son.

Review 43:We had a wonderful time and are likely to come back. Familjiar feeling, the garden, the view... and the cool nights.

Review 44:The view from the terrace and pool was fantastic. And the tiny garden sections too. We had a small cabin for ourselves, complete with bath and fridgeroom and a terrace. The pool was a great for hangout during midday siesta.

Review 45:Nada.

Review 46:Everything. Montse is lovely and will do anything to make your stay perfect. Great kitchen, rooms, hot shower.

Review 47:Wonderful, beautiful place in lovely setting. We fell ill, and Montse took care of us like family. Great local food.

Review 48:This place is unique such a lovely welcome too

Review 49:nothing

Review 50:The lovely, friendly welcome and smiles of Monte, unforgettable hospitality, openness and warmth.

Review 51:The rooms were very comfortable, and Monse was very welcoming.A very peaceful relaxing few days away.

Review 52:The casual atmosfere.

Review 53:It's the best place to venture into the alpujarras

Review 54:The view and the pool

Review 55:small bathroom

Review 56:The way of welcome and treating us a real visitors. Very warm and friendly

Review 57:A bit cold in bathroom.

Review 58:Peaceful and cosy country house with beautiful view to mountains. Breakfast with home-made marmelade.

Review 59:The lady of the huis! The views and the surroundings, priceless!

Review 60:Very welcoming, full guided tour on arrival, lovely gardens and terraces. Beautifully decorated rooms.

Review 61:Everything

Review 62:Steep steps down to Cabin. Parking very tight.

Review 63:Excellent Location. Martse very friendly and helpfull.

Review 64:The best 'casa' ever. very friendly and helpful owner. we can enjoy the fruits and vegetable the owner grow and it is wonderful.

Review 65:Nothing.

Review 66:Eclectic nature of bedroom and breakfast/kitchen area. Great helpful staff. Edge of village but close enough to walk to great restaurant in town. Great views and access to walks.

Review 67:Montse was a very friendly and helpful hostess, and gave us information on walking trails and local buses. The room was quaint and very cosy, and the communal kitchen a great place to cook a meal to enjoy on the terrace.

Review 68:about 6 individual units set on various levels with several outdoor areas and a fantastic new rustic outdoor kitchen where breakfast is shared and where guests and the hosts tend to mingle. Montse is always available and generous with her help and advice. the village is in a fantastic position with opportunities to walk or drive.

Review 69:Nothing not to like, but be warned, the GR7 path up from Pampaneira is a hard slog and takes longer than the 20 mins mentioned in some guides, especially at the end of a hard day.

Review 70:Location is stunning and the atmosphere very relaxing. Would return again without question.

Review 71:We were disappointed that the swimming pool was not cleaned and ready, as the weather was hot and we were looking forward to it. Usually it is ready from May onwards and we arrived in April. Otherwise, it would have been perfect!

Review 72:In an incredible setting - the view from the terrace area is stunning! The room was comfortable and well equipped and the lady was very helpful - able to communicate fairly well, even though she struggles with English. The kitchen areas are great, with a fridge where you can get drinks from and a library of books to read. This area is wonderful for walking and scenery and this guest house is well placed in a quiet area, although a reasonably short walk gets you into the centre of Bubion where there are a few restaurants. If you want a peaceful place to stay with good access to walking trails, this is it!

Review 73:The owner was very friendly and helpful, and so we felt as if we stayed at our relative's house. The house was old but very clean and pretty. The location was excellent.

Review 74:Lovely room and very welcoming and helpful owner. The views from the hotel are wonderful and it's great for walking. We also liked that it was possible to cook your own meals. Montse was wonderful, we loved the breakfasts with homemade bread and jam, she gave us lots of useful information and could not do enough for us.

Review 75:We chosed the little hotel for the first night in andalucia and it was the best choice of all hotels. The view is great and the location also: very clean, pleasent and tastefully decorated. You get very high qualitiy for the money (including home made yoghurt and fresh fruit salad for breakfast) and with Sandra and Esteban nice hosts, who are eager to give their guests a very comfortable stay. The little village Comares is also worth to visit. We enjoyed it very much.

Review 76:My dog and I had an excellent stay. The room was a good size and had a fridge and microwave. The owner was helpful and made me dinner which was quite good. There are walking trails accessible directly from the house. This guest house is very dog friendly.

Review 77:Missing water boiler. Parking very small!

Review 78:Great location and view. Nice size room. Warm and oven in room. Nicehost. Cozy. Probably even better in summertime!

Review 79:one of our rooms is kinda small .. GPS cannot find the place. yet the owner lady came out to show us the way to the premises.

Review 80:Nice house. cute deco. helpful and nice owner lady ... facing the valley ... there is a swim poor (must be superb in summer) and you may practice yoga there : )

Review 81:There was nothing We didnt like.

Review 82:Everything. The owner was fantastic- she could not do enough to make our stay very enjoyable. It was a rustic place with great character and was probably our highlight for accommodation during our month in Spain. Great walks, beautiful scenery, pretty villages. Great setting and wonderful host.

Review 83:Nothing, absolutely amazing.

Review 84:Wow! Absolutely amazing views. Most of the other hotels were on the other side of the road so would not have had access to the views. The lady who runs the place is so accommodating, very informative and hospitable. The breakfast for €3 is a bargain! The lady has a great book on local walks. We did an 'easy' 3 hour trek. Wasn't what I would call easy but very enjoyable and breathtaking views. So far my favourite place on our trip around Andalusia.

Review 85:There was nothing that we didn't like. It was just beautiful in every way.

Review 86:Beautiful accommodation with terraces, gardens and a pool. Very nice owner who advised on walks and gave us lettuces, strawberries and berries from the garden. It was so beautiful and peaceful.

Review 87:Liked everything, but not the place for anybody with mobility problems as lots of steps everywhere.

Review 88:Loved it! Quirky, laid back, relaxing atmosphere, stunning views. Montse was a lovely hostess and a brilliant cook. Would definitely return.

Review 89:We had a great time at Case Ibero! The location is beautiful, with agreat view over the valley. The owner is a lovely woman, very friendlyand an excelent cook! Many beautiful walks directly from theaccomodation. We wished we had time to stay longer!

Review 90:the room was quite small and dark cause there was only a small window. the bathroom was sooo small it would have been impossible for a tall or big person to sit on the toilet. it was also way too close to the bed for my liking.....

Review 91:we really liked the location and the casa ibero.staff was very friendly and the setting is incredibly beautiful and i am sure if the weather would have been better we would have loved to be sitting out in the garden or by the pool. its in walking distance to the village as well, which is quite handy.

Review 92:nothing it was perfect.

Review 93:The cottage perched on the side of a mountain was cozy, clean and unique. It is designed for you to be outside to sip a coffee, watch the birds or have a meal. The hostess cooks wonderful cous-cous if you want to book dinner. It is on the trail between the three major towns in this area.

Review 94:Casa Ibero was a great place to stay. The room was clean and comfortable, with a small outdoor sitting area. There are also a number of small terraces with tables and chairs, and nooks and crannies where one can hide away with a book. The views of the mountains are spectacular. There was also well-equipped common kitchen we could use, though there was a small fee for the gas hob.

Review 95:Nothing, it was great, we'll be back!

Review 96:We got an apartment, even though we only booked a room! The atmospherewas extremely relaxed and friendly, the spot was the best, great view!

Review 97:Very friendly owner. The place is made for a long comfortable stay.

Review 98:The view of the mountains is lovely from up there. The owner is the best host you can imagine.

Review 99:good place in the mountains, very kindly and helpfull owner.we felt very familiar.there is everything you need for a relaxed holiday.

Review 100:It was raining. :)

Review 101:2 sisters who ownes the place were very nice, sweet, helpful. Breakfast was amazing, everything home made.

Review 102:The owner was welcoming and very helpful. Wonderful woman. Beautiful surroundings, got the best nights sleep there and delicious food.

Review 103:Nothing

Review 104:Location

Review 105:The fact is was welcoming and geographically remote. The home comforts of the rooms. The outdoor kitchen

Review 106:Lovely gardens, pool, very quiet, gorgeous views, very friendly owner, excellent value for money.
