Reviews for Hostal Rural Las Terrazas de la Alpujarra
Review 1:No TV in your room, but a big one in the living room.
Review 2:Very nice common area with lots of books and info about the area. The family who runs the place is very friendly and makes you feel like at home. We had a lot of fun with their talking parrot Fito!!
Review 3:There was slight confusion about the booking until I produced the booking reference. Poor sound insulation.
Review 4:The terrace does have a wonderful view and the hostel is in a quiet location. The village of Bubion is pretty. Breakfast was great, coffee, pan con tomate and fresh oranges.
Review 5:Sound insulation not great, so might be quite noisy when more fully occupied.
Review 6:Stunning location, easy parking, helpful manager in suggesting fantastic local walks, good value room rate and breakfast. Great base for walks in the area and good information and maps etc.
Review 7:Hotel owner Francisco went above & beyond with providing maps & info about hiking in the area - much appreciated! Loved the cozy main floor lounge and the great view from the 2nd floor balcony.
Review 8:Don't pit your finger in the parrot cage, it bites.
Review 9:Lovely family run hotel, so friendly and welcoming. Lovely views over the mountains on terrace. Beautiful rooms
Review 10:Terrific terrace views of the valley Super friendly host family running the hotel Quiet tranquil surroundings Great hiking walking trail maps provided by the hosts
Review 11:Not a bad experience but the Hostal has no food or drink facilities other than simple but adequate breakfast arrangements. This requirement is well covered by other nearby facilities/
Review 12:Position, locality, friendly reception and attendance, helpful guidance/ loan of walking maps, walking canes. Excellent local bars and restaurants after ardours mountain walking.
Review 13:Not really anything except the WIFI only has range in the reception area and not to the rooms - if you need this.
Review 14:Very helpful owners, feels like a home away. Great location for daytrips to Mulhacen or Veleta or other hikes.
Review 15:Really nice staff, location in bubion is excellent, our room was not very big but more than enough for us. Very clean and tidy. We had a very nice 3-day stay. Francisco and Mariangeles the managers of the hotel are lovely. They also gave us plenty of information to walk around the village and the mountains, the know every corner of the region.
Review 16:I can't believe the low cost of this place. It's comfortable, great location, lovely couple, very tasty Spanish breakfast. A relaxing stay, thank you!!
Review 17:Reaching the Alto Barrio requires negotiating a steep uphill acute left hairpin turn over cobbles from the plaza Medio Barrio. My car got stuck and required the assistance of a local, who was surprised that I did not know to reverse up as if going to the right then it is a simple task to drive forwards to the left. The owner emailed a nice sketch map of how to reach the property but there was no mention of this local knowledge. Occasionally we were unable to get the hot water in the shower working..
Review 18:Fantastic position,Trevelez is the highest village in Spain and the Alto Barrio towers above the rest of Trevelez. with very friendly neighbours in the Alto Barrio. Watching the campesinos going to work in their Campos up above. Setting out on walks up the mountains with great height already attained. Clean and tidy barrio, with communal bins emptied every day (instead of once a week as they are back home) Having the whole house with a great kitchen..
Review 19:There's no wifi connection upstairs in the room, you can use the wifi in the living room. it's fine for me, afterall, we're here for vacation and to enjoy the natural environment instead of stick to the smart phone as usual. :)
Review 20:Clean and tidy; cozy environment; a cute parrot; welcoming staff; good location for hiking; very relaxing; easy to find (very close to the bus station); love their balcony
Review 21:A double bed is a bit small.
Review 22:The people who run it are absolutely marvellous, always ready to help and extremely attentive. Cozy salon with a fireplace, lots of table games, all info about Alpujarras walking tours and an amazing talking loro parrot (the kids just did not get away from him). Wonderful mountain view from the windows. Fast wi-fi. Very nice restaurant 50 m away. Great place to have a quiet and picturesque weekend.

Review 59:Sound echos easily and you can hear the next rooms.
Review 60:There were at least 2 terraces available so you could easily find a private spot. Tremendous views down the valley to the Med, and looking the other way up the valley to the snowy caps of the Sierra Nevada. Very tranquil place, lovely patient owners who spoke clearly and slowly in Spanish. Cosy dining and lounge area, and good Spanish breakfasts (tostada y tomate o mermelada). Good walking info. Great value for money.

Review 62:Superb location, exceptional staff, superb value for money. Better than 5/5 (top 20%), more like 10/10 (top 10%). Well deserves the high rating from users.
Review 63:Nothing!
Review 64:The staff were very friendly and gave us good advice about the area. The hotel was very Spanish and popular with them at Fiesta times. It was in a great location. We loved it!
Review 65:A perfect place to stay with the most amazing views of the mountains. The walks right from the doorstep was great and the owner was really helpful in suggesting walks for us. we loved the parrot who would chatter away at breakfast. The terrace out the back was perfect for an afternoon sunbathe or read. It is right in the village and close to several good restaurants.
Review 66:No real negatives about "Las Terrazas" - minor issues: it's bit hard to find though near the main road and parking (free) is a bit of a walk. But Bubion is quite hard to get to and not really worth the effort. It's a cute village, but not extraordinary, and there's not much to do. Limited options for eating, shopping, hiking, or exploring unless you get back in the car.
Review 67:Nice, comfortable, clean, and very affordable hostal near the center of a pleasant, rural town. If you're going to Bubion, this is a great place to stay.
Review 68:The fact that we chose to stay there for only two days - a week would have been better!
Review 69:The owner/manager is a great bloke, very friendly and helpful. He has lots of info on local walks and can photocopy descriptions of walks (in English or Spanish).
Review 70:Small room and bathroom even for just one person. Fine for summer but would be tight if you had wet clothing, coats and boots. Staff seemed preoccupied when I arrived. Was handed key and given room number and then the person disappeared rapidly without telling me that I didn't need to drag my cases upstairs but could access the room from a street level entrace. Luckily my car was near the entrance and I worked out what the second key was for!
Review 71:Lovely terrace. Rustic feel.
Review 72:I loved the place itself with fantastic terrace overlooking surrounding countryside. It was summer when we visited but I imagine it would be great in winter as well, with it's large open fireplace and cosy comfortable loungeroom. I also loved the location. The owner was extremely helpful and although he didn't speak english, he'd gone to the trouble of printing walking track information etc in english. We were greeted with a plate of cherries and apricots upon our arrival. It was great.
Review 73:No complaints
Review 74:A simple but special place. Very tranquil.Although we could not speakspanish and the owners couldnt speak english, they tried very hard tomake us comfortable and there was a good restuarant nearby
Review 75:This is a wonderful hostal in the mountains. The room was quiet and warm. The couple running it are most friendly and helpful - the can´t do enough for you. Everyone in the village is friendly - would particularly recommend Restaurant Artesan - great value!

Review 78:The breakfast was quite simple.
Review 79:The staff was really nice to us, despite speaking no other language thanSpanish they tried so hard to make us feel comfortable :) The views fromthe hostel are amazing and the rooms are clean and comfortable.
Review 80:There was nothing I didn't like.
Review 81:I have stayed at this hostal many times over the last 20 years. Francisco and Mari-Angeles are extremely friendly and the rooms are basic but beautifully clean with abundant hot water; just what is needed after long walks. The oranges at breakfast were superb!
Review 82:Parking could be difficult in the summer with more tourists around in the village.
Review 83:We had a very good welcome despite not being able to communicate fully with each other. Our room was small but comfortable and very clean. The breakfast was simple but very good (with the family parrot chirping volubly in the background!) and other meals could be had two minutes along the street in a couple of good restaurants serving local food at very reasonable prices. Francisco was very helpful with photocopies of super walks in the area. There is a tiny well stocked supermarket just across from the hostal which sells an amazing range of things and serves also as the post office. Parking is either on the tiny square or the road along to the hostal. Maggie and Peter.
Review 84:Absolutely great. The host and his family are wonderful, warm people. They have several hiking routes available and are very helpful. Highlyrecommended!
