Reviews for Hotel Villa de Bubion

Review 1:The room was very vold a very difficult to heat up. The dinner was not very good. the vegetables came from a tin.

Review 2:Location was great and staff was friendly. Breakfast was ok.

Review 3:There a few small things that can be improved to make the hotel even better. The breakfast was almost the same every day. The bed was a bit too soft. There is A.C. in the bedroom and living room, but not in the bathroom - is was a bit cold in the bathroom.

Review 4:Almost everything. It was our second stay in Villa de Bubion and we enjoyed it very much. Villa de Bubion is an idyllic hotel from which you can start the Sierra Nevada treks. The personnel is very friendly. The design of hotel is really nice and our villa was specious. We enjoyed the restaurant as well.

Review 5:Friendly welcome. Lovely villa with mountain views. Good parking facilities which is a bonus for the area. Overall a good relaxed atmosphere. We had half board the meal was excellent.

Review 6:The attractive village layout was let down by rather unkempt grounds. As advertised wifi was only available in reception. It didn't bother us but some older visitors may find the stairs inconvenient.

Review 7:Helpful attentive staff. Reception staff spoke good english, although the booking.com website suggested that only spanish was spoken. We stayed in a spacious villa with sleeping/bathroom upstairs and living room downstairs. Easy parking was available on-site.

Review 8:Really uncomfortable bed, spent second night on sofa, creaking springsthat would wake you every time you moved.Biggest WARNING do not follow the directions from here!!! The hotel is not on the left as you enter the village, we got stuck in narrow streets in our car and now have minor damage. It's on the right as you leave and easy to access. This must be changed and the staff know! Difficult to get a drink at the bar, but excellent bar opposite...

Review 9:For a typical white village miles from anywhere it is an excellentchoice of hotel for those that want more than the basics. 2 bedroomapartment is excellent and ours had a great view.

Review 10:The pool needs maintenance, tiles are missing and the filter cover was broken. More meat choices on the a la carte menu would have been nice. But this is nit-picking.

Review 11:The apartment we had was superb with a large lounge and bedroom. The views were fantastic from the balcony. The food for breakfast and dinner was excellent. Information on the area was good.

Review 12:We wanted to go hiking and asked for advice. We were given very poor advice and almost missed out on some amazing opportunities.

Review 13:The location was amazing. The town was lovely and close to hiking trails. The rooms were very spacious and private. The pool was very nice, especially as it was surprisingly warm.

Review 14:bed too soft, fountain in center is pretty but loud for sleeping.

Review 15:lovely villas, great views, nice pool (but walls too high), nice patio, charming design, good food

Review 16:A fridge in the apartment would be nice, swimming pool had some bugs in it.

Review 17:The aparment we lived in was big with great view to the valley and inner yard fountain. In the villa area there are many of these apartments, surrounded by stone wall, making the area a small isolated village. Free parking was available, breakfast was good. Bubion is lovely place for hiking and for exploring the quiet little town.

Review 18:Wifi strength was poor. Breakfast was just Ok. Bed was a bit too hard, even for my taste. The village cut down the water supply (planned) in the morning we stayed, but no warning from staff, no hotel water reserve to cover these scenarios, and no compensation neither!

Review 19:Big space, even with garden. Nice new bathrooms. Good value for money. Nice village

Review 20:Restaurant closed two nights of the week. One member of staff begrudged providing fresh coffee at breakfast. WiFi only in public areas. Would have liked a kettle.

Review 21:Breakfast buffet. room with a view, sitting room.

Review 22:The beds were really bad. The breakfast organization wasn't very good: everything on an small corner, the toaster was really slow and small, it takes too long since something runs out until it is replaced.

Review 23:The villas atmosphere, like a little town.

Review 24:Only 2 small things could be improved. The coffee was awful. We had to stop for a second cup at a local bar and that coffee was great ( like most Spanish coffee). The second is since the restaurant is closed on Sunday's that should be mentioned in the online information and at least soft drinks and beer should be for sale to take up to the room.

Review 25:beautiful suite, great price, very nice breakfast ( except the coffee) in excellent location Dining room was closed but they recommended a great restaurant 5 minutes a way (walking).

Review 26:The hot water (heater) doesn't last for two people use (you should be quick); Wifi only in the lobby.

Review 27:It's well located; The rooms are spacious em well decorated; Good breakfast; Free parking; I really liked it!

Review 28:As the receptionist was helping other guests to find a hotel in Granada, we had to wait about 20 minutes to check out. Would be nicer if she helped us and the continued with the hotel search.

Review 29:Nice little house, with living room and bedroom. Comfortable bathroom. Private outer space, facing south. Unfortunately the swimming pool was not in use anymore, though we were allowed to use it. But the water was freezingly cold (they warned us about that!). Nevertheless, we spent an hour on the deckchairs next to the swimmingpool, enjoying the autumn sun. Breakfast buffet was ok, reasonable choice (yoghurt, cheeses, sausages, muesli, bread, croisants, tomatospread, ham, coffee, tea, juices). Easy parking nearby the hotel.

Review 30:Nothing

Review 31:Everything (standard of apartments/villas, comfortable beds, facilities in room, great swimming pool, various and tasty breakfast, great views)

Review 32:Incorrect GPS coordinates given by booking.com despite staff's best efforts to correct them, it hasn't been rectified. This sent us down some very narrow and steep streets that we didn't need to drive on.

Review 33:If you intend to walk in the Alpujaras region, the Villa de Bubion is an excellent place to use as a base. At the top of the village, it is within 10 min walking distance to Capileira where most of the trails start and offers a modern accomodation in a fairly traditional building. Our little villa was on two floors with the living room at the first floor and the bathroom and bedroom at the lower level. There was also a nice little patio in front of the bedroom. As we visited at the beginning of October the underfloor heating in the bathroom was a nice little touch on an otherwise cold stone floor. Friendly staff Excellent breakfast Excellent value Secure parking Swimming pool

Review 34:While we only stayed the one night. The staff treated us as if we were old friends, always friendly yet very polite, and nothing we asked for was too much trouble

Review 35:Nothing.

Review 36:Very quiet spot. Clean, comfortable rooms. We had a patio and small private garden area, for quiet afternoon. Staff very helpful when we arrived so late.

Review 37:value for money was right at the time of our visit but I think the regular price tends to be a bit over.

Review 38:nice environment, good furniture, good breakfast option

Review 39:The food was very poor and rather disappointing.

Review 40:Map on booking.com shows wrong location.

Review 41:Excellent rooms. Good bar and restaurante.

Review 42:Food was ok, no more

Review 43:Very nice staff. Comfortable and quiet hotel.

Review 44:None

Review 45:Great apartments that were brilliantly located Staff made everything easy and were very helpful

Review 46:Most helpful receptionist who gave us lots of good advice on local hikes.

Review 47:The air conditioning was incapable of reducing the nigh time heat

Review 48:location

Review 49:- It's the right place for relaxing vacation, in a small lovely town, in the middle of nature.

Review 50:Helpful in every way

Review 51:Lovely location, nice room. Idea base for our 24km walk up Mulhacen and back.

Review 52:Accommodation and food excellent. Staff very friendly and helpful.

Review 53:No WiFi in the room

Review 54:would be nice with two toilets in the two bedroom villas

Review 55:The location in the mountains, very high quality house and furniture

Review 56:Wish they had more information and maps on the area. Otherwise very good.

Review 57:Great position for walking the three villages.

Review 58:Wifi only available in common areas and not working very well.

Review 59:Location, very clean and nice hotel.

Review 60:Can you please put a kettle and tea/coffee cups in the rooms?

Review 61:Friendly staff who were very helpful!

Review 62:Accommodation was excellent,we arrived later than expected so we were unable to look around the town. The evening meal was good

Review 63:The only think I can complain about is the coffee it could be better

Review 64:This is a great hotel in superb location and surroundings. This is the second time in less than a year I and my wife stayed there and we really appreciate this hotel. The personnel is very friendly and helpful. If my friends intend to visit this area I certainly recommend Villa Bubion to them

Review 65:Nothing significant - Note It may be difficult to park in High season.

Review 66:Lovely Place, lovely accommodation, just ideal for a couple of days break walking to the top of the Highest Peak in Mainland Spain

Review 67:Breakfast basic and the same every day but still fine. Pool not heated so still too cold to use at the end of May.

Review 68:Very helpful and thoughtful staff. Good size rooms with great views from the balcony. Powerful shower which is great after a hot day in the dusty hills. Lovely location within easy walk of other bars and restaurants.

Review 69:Surprising lack of views from probably most of the rooms, which doesn't compare to the other hotels in the same chain at Cazorla and Laujar. No tourist information of the area at reception or in the room. Breakfast basic.

Review 70:Enjoyed having separate sitting room.

Review 71:Wifi not available in the villa, only in the main hotel. Pool apparently out of use while we were there. Evening meal pretty average. Much better to eat at Tiende, the bar about 200 metres away. Lovely terrace there too.

Review 72:Excellent accommodation: comfortable beds, good bathroom with excellent shower and bath. Spacious sitting room. V cool even without using air con. Excellent breakfast.

Review 73:Restaurant closed except for Breakfast which meant having to find other places for evening meals.

Review 74:Rooms were warm and comfortable, ideal location for sightseeing. Central heating and underfloor heating in the bathroom a real treat at this time of year.

Review 75:Having the hairdryer hanging just above and very close to the bath seemnot to be a good idea. I think it might even be illegal, potentiallylife danger. This was the only negative point, else 10/10.

Review 76:Our villa was very nicely furnished, everything had a touch andharmonizing design, certainly not cheap as you usually come across inunder 100 euro accommodations. Good quality bathroom. Breakfast wasincluded in the price and was a nice surprise. The parking options wereok, but it was off season time. Good internet only around reception areawhich made me quite happy as I prefer to sleep with no wi-fi around. Iam definitely returning back again.

Review 77:The breakfast was not very impressive and the food in the restaurant could be of higher quality.

Review 78:I liked the hotel very much, it was very clean and nice, The apartment we staid in was very nice, everything in very good conditions and the beds comfortable. The surrounding were spectacular.

Review 79:We had a wonderful night and day: silence nature and relax! Everything cleaned and very comfortable. Complete continental breakfast, very tasty! You have a wonderful swimmingpool, very comfortable bed. We payed half price, but it values also full price. It has small white Apartments. it is much more a 4 stras hotel than 3 stars.

Review 80:The staff didnt know to help us with information about trecks in thearea around the vilige

Review 81:Very nice and clean apartment ,one bedroom and living room. Execelenttoilet and shower. Very nice view from the room.

Review 82:We thought the food in the restaurant could have been better in the evening, though the breakfasts were excellent.

Review 83:Beautiful setting, loved the pool, especially for a 'before breakfast' swim! Immaculate room and very spacious and clean, loved the bathroom. Excellent two night stay.

Review 84:This is a very friendly and comfortable hotel and excellent value for money. There is an a la carte menu but the 3 course fixed price dinner menu is only 10 euros , excellent value. Our waitress for our 3 night stay was Mari and she too gave us an excellent service. Also full marks to the reception staff. This is the second year running we have stayed here and it is now our hotel of choice in the Alpujarras.

Review 85:These are excellent villas with bathroom, bedroom, lounge &patio.Superb views.Excellent breakfast, wide selection to choose from and all fresh. We ate at El Tiede which is to the left of the entrance on the main road.Wide selection, excellent food, good service & friendly staff. We will go back.

Review 86:Dinner was cheap (10€ p.p. for a three course menu) but nothing extraordinary. Wifi is only available in the reception area and the signal is weak.

Review 87:It was a clean and modern compound of villas. The price (65€ for an economy double room with breakfast for two) was absolutely honest for the service that we got. Breakfast is good with a decent choice of sweet and salty dishes. I highly recommend this hotel.

Review 88:Everything about this hotel. The comfort of the rooms and as mentioned the underfloor bathroom heating was a real bonus in an unseasonally cold May. We dined in the restaurant one night. The fixed price, choice of courses menu was good value at 10€. The choice from the bar menu was also good value and on both occasions well presented and freshly prepared. We were celebrating a birthday whilst there and on the day returned to find a nicely presented bottle of wine and note had been left in the room, a very thoughtful touch. This is an excellent base to visit villages in the Alpujarras. There is limited free parking at the hotel, no problem off season but not sure what it may be like in the busy months

Review 89:staff were unwelcoming. Breakfast was unimaginative, towels were not changed daily.

Review 90:the view

Review 91:There was no kettle to boil water for tea.

Review 92:Most everything!

Review 93:Lovely situation. Charming staff.

Review 94:nothing

Review 97:Friendly service, & great breakfast also great for the off-season!

Review 98:Lovely location in a high village in the Sierra Nevada. Hotel just right for a short stay for walking or exploring the area

Review 99:Very poor maintenance of grounds.

Review 100:Helpful staff. Good location for walks.

Review 101:Bed very springy. Limited parking on site.

Review 102:Good situation for walking , bfst continental and plentiful. In the centre of he village.

Review 103:not secure

Review 104:old bed which sagged in the middle.
