Reviews for First Hotel Copenhagen
Review 1:Bathroom did have a bad smell, which I've seen in other reviews and have to agree with. And although friendly staff I've marked positively (which it was for the most part) one time we had to wait at reception for a while because the staff member working was playing with her dog. Also, now that I have checked out I see there are 2 separate charges to my Credit card, one for the amount stated by staff at checkout but the other I am having to query with the hotel as I do not recall being told about another amount to be paid such as for a deposit etc. Which just adds a bit of stress and could deter me from returning And the double bed is two singles which easily part in the middle and has two single duvets which I haven't encountered before.
Review 2:Friendly and helpful staff, particularly one of the male members working on reception he was very helpful. We had asked him to unlock the dividing door between two rooms and when we got back to the room he was already there to help us.
Review 3:the room didn't offer any slipper and robes, it was cold and the bed wasn't good for couples.
Review 4:Spa was what we needed after a cold day and breakfast was really good
Review 5:Lot of noise in night by drunken guests and hotel staff doesn't do anything about it. Hotel bar closed due to renovation without notification on website. For the noise I demanded discount when checked out and I received it
Review 6:Nothing
Review 7:Spa set up seemed a little odd (no robes or flipflops available that we could tell) - very minor point though!
Review 8:Very comfortable room, friendly and very helpful staff, good food in the restaurant and for the breakfasts.
Review 9:The room I was staying in looked a bit dirty, but the bed and bathroom seemed fine.
Review 10:Regardless some say the location if the hotel is a bit secluded, I liked the location. It's only 10 minutes by car/taxi and the bus stop is right outside the hotel. The hotel has plentiful facilities and a great breakfast buffet, healthy even.
Review 11:Hotel a bit isolated so nothing to do in the evenings unless you get a bus into the centre. However the bus stop is directly outside the hotel
Review 12:Staff were very helpful and pleasant. Hotel was close to the Bella Centre so good location for business
Review 13:Our 1st night stay room fliided as the shower drain was blocked and water poured out in to main bed area. Receptionist fixed this and told us they have no other spare rooms. So we put down 7-8 towels as carpet was soaking wet. He said we could be moved to another room the following night. In the morning receptionist called to say other room was ready although would be 100DKK upgrade fee per night. We declined and stayed where we where. We where upset and angry at this as shots have been free upgrade to other room and refunded our 1st night stay.
Review 14:No near by alternative so you have to eat in the hotel and it's expensive. Also because I used booking.com to book the hotel and breakfast as I had to leave early and wanted to cancel breakfast I was told that I still had to pay for it! I was told "there's nothing we can do because you booked with booking.com" yet I was paying the hotel and not booking.com, stupid!
Review 15:Easy access to the airport, 10 minutes in a taxi.
Review 16:They would improve by having solutions instead of "Sorries" No USA electric adapters (was told I could walk to a gas station ten minutes away and they "might" have them), bathroom filthy (dried feces on side of sink), shower design ridiculous (water all over floor), road noise, no room service except by DL'ing an app. Sarah the manager was not defensive and offered free breakfast; room should have been comped instead for all our trouble.! Never again in Copenhagen!
Review 17:Breakfast buffet was nice but way overpriced.
Review 18:No queen size bed. Just two singles which was annoying as a couple. Couldn't sleep next to each other without laying in the crack.
Review 19:Breakfast buffet was really good. Lots of choice and good quality. Rooms were standard and clean.
Review 20:The rooms had no AC, so I had to have my window open. The decking for the bar was under my window so it was very noisy until 2am. At 3-30am trains started running also just outside my window and then the delivery lorries started to deliver at 5am, also just under my window, so as it was open to cool my roomdown, I had 2 nights of very bad sleep.
Review 21:My money was stolen in my room when I was eating breakfast. It was not the first time guests lost their valuables in this hotel. I will not book this hotel again because I don't want be on alert every minute
Review 22:When asking for directions, to keep in mind that tourists do not know anything. What would help are clear and specific descriptions. "Walk down the street " is not clear. "Walk towards the left of such and such street" is better.
Review 23:The breakfast was excellent!
Review 24:This hotel is not located in the center of Copenhagen, however it has easy access to Copenhagen and is close to the Airport. The room (Junior Suite) has a good size and great view, the room was clean and nice. There is easy parking at the hotel. Staff is friendly and helpfull. We did not try the restaurant. Can recommend this hotel unless you want to visit the Copenhagen center many times.
Review 25:- Even though outside the city, the boat buses and bus are right outside the door. - Price was ore reasonable than alot of places in Copenhagen - Staff were excellent
Review 26:Reception was lightly manned with only one person managing practically everything or so it seemed. Location is a boring and if you have a room to the road which is the cheaper option the view is not good and noise significant. Location is a little far out of the city to bike especially when it is evening and cold (beginning April) Bikes cannot be rented on hourly basis which is rubbish.
Review 27:The beds are really good and the Internet setup automatically. They have bikes for rent.
Review 28:I had searched the web for a reasonably priced hotel that I could return to after a hard days work to relax in a hot bath... But the water never got hot enough.. Disappointed..
Review 29:Good free parking.
Review 30:Alltogether, the price/value ratio was not top, even though I know Copenhagen is an expensive city I'd expect more for a 160€/night.
Review 31:The hotel is nice, modern, conveniently placed for business trips to the area, but a 30min bus drive from the center. Very friendly staff, good confort, nice breakfast...
Review 32:As directed from the Information in the Copenhagen airport, I tried to reach hotel throm Orestad by 4A. Which information did not tell is, that 4A is not going after 18 (I landed after 18).
Review 33:Closeness to Aalborg University, so I was able to walk to the conference. Very good breakfast in the hotel. Good connection with the downtown by bus 30 and boat. Good isolation of street noise (my windows were to the highway). Possibility to have dinner when I arrived (around 21.00), choice of food which was possible to buy in the reception (good juice and chocolate).
Review 34:No aircondition in the rooms, so during hot days it's very hard to get a decent temperature.
Review 35:Nice breakfast with lots of choices. Easy access from highway and free parking compared to pricy parking in the city centre.
Review 36:Wish there was Air conditioning in room. But they gave me a fan Wich was not to bad.
Review 37:Everything in hotel was clean, great breakfast. Spacious and very modern.
Review 38:front rooms face the avenue which is extremely noisy, so windows need to be kept closed. the hotel does not provide fans, when at 2 AM we woke up dry in our throats and boiling hot covered in sweat, we called the front desk and were told "the problem is in fact that is very hot in copenhagen these days", as if they never had a summer before in the country or if it were the first time they hear about the heat in the rooms facing the avenue. There is NO ventilation in the room, no fans provided by the hotel (which would cost them at 5 euro a piece, tops), bottom line, they know they have a problem and some guests ind it impossible to enjoy their stay due to the heat, but they just could not care less. funniest of all, the next day I called front desk again, at around 5 pm, told them the heat in town was not excuse, and that they surely had hot summers before (I checked on internet and the temperature those days was exactly as in previous years), and then I was told off by the concierge for not having brought this up "with the big boss" earlier that day, I told him that for us he and his colleagues at the front desk are the company, and if escalation was needed he needed to bring it up with his manager. In vain, we expected something to happen the next day, but it never did as obviously the concierge did not escalate to his manager our complains...
Review 39:The room was huge and had great windows but there were semen stains allover the sofa. I didn't sit on it or place any of my belongings onit. When they came to clean my room the only thing they did wasrearrange the duvet. They had left towels outside if my room in a bagand didn't even bother to take them out of the bag. There was no airconditioning and there were huge spiders all over the outside of mywindow so I was afraid to have it open. Also indicates that it is ashort walk to the city centre....NOT. The location is horrible as it itno close to anything!!!
Review 40:The staff was excellent but that is about the best thing I cansay about it.
Review 41:the bath was rather high for someone walking with a crutch
Review 42:nice breakfast buffet and a quiet room, close to bus stop
Review 43:No view, bed old and uncomfortable, no coffee making facilities
Review 44:Personnel very helpful, decor moderne, great shower
Review 45:My room was on the second floor and was to noisy because af the four lane road outside.
Review 46:confrence room and the food
Review 47:Nice food!
Review 48:The window had a loud draft that kept me awake most of the night .
Review 49:Very helpful staff
Review 50:Hotel's bar were closed at 10 o'clock, at the evening. There were nothing open at that area anymore.
Review 51:Nothing.
Review 52:The spa was an amazing place to watch the sunset from.
Review 53:Too far from citycentrum.
Review 54:Very good and clean room. Good parking place. Very good brekfast.
Review 55:no restaurant in the weekend restaurant close at 10 pm
Review 56:modern building
Review 57:The comfortable bed. Clean. Nice staff. Good breakfast. Free parking lot. Easy to go to downtown by bus (the drivers are very kind too).
Review 58:Friendly staff and always looking to help you. Did show a genuine interest in you and spoke very good English.
Review 59:Bath smells like a sewer, loud noise from the street
Review 60:Staff was not helpful at all!! Faraway from city centre!!
Review 61:Good Breakfast! Room was clean!!
Review 62:Staff were really friendly. Shout out to Andreas on reception and Sonny who worked in the bar. Great fellas.
Review 63:Very good, friendly staff, big clean rooms. Only positive things to say.
Review 64:The bed was incredibly comfortable!
Review 65:Strange smell in the room
Review 66:2 Single beds, long distance to restaurants
Review 67:Good value for money
Review 68:Clean, comfy beds, lavish breakfast, excellent sound-proofing.
Review 69:Breakfast
Review 70:It has good location for business great bed
Review 71:Hotel was very nice and I loved staying there.
Review 72:Poor breakfast, small rooms. NO AIR CONDITION!, n extremely loud train nearby that goes nearby every 30 minutes. Very expensive.
Review 73:Very nice hotel
Review 74:Two elevators for the whole five story hotel. One of them was broken during my stay. No safe box in the room.
Review 75:Food was good.
Review 76:nice spacious room, comfortable bed, though close to a very frequented 4-6 line street it was very quiet.
Review 77:Every thing
Review 78:Yo be honest nothing
Review 79:Convenient location, confortable, functional, roomy and good value.
Review 80:One of the best in Copenhagn and yet, great price
Review 81:Check in is not until 15.00hrs unless you want to pay extra. The rooms are very basic. It is a very soulless, sad place.
Review 82:It was quite clean.
Review 83:Easy to go evry where
Review 84:Behaind market
Review 85:long check in time
Review 86:location
Review 87:shower drainage a full blown catastrophe
Review 88:location and breakfast
Review 89:Localizations - some industrial estate with trains come few times at nights awaking you.not great connections with city centre /taxi or one bus every 20 min. / not direct connection with airport and metro . Very expensive compare to standard .
Review 90:Room,breakfast however they strictly close door at 9,30.
Review 91:location is terrible. It is literally in the middle of nowhere. You need to get a taxi to get anywhere. There are local buses but far from metro and city trains. Design of the hotel is very basic and feels more like a 3 star and not a 4 star hotel. Perhaps OK for a quick business trip.
Review 92:fair price
Review 93:Impossible to sleep because of car noise from the 4 lane street!! Isolation is minimal so you hear the cars all through the night (especially from 3 am when not so many cars and loud motors plus police with sirens go by). No more for me!!!!
Review 94:Clean
Review 95:Hotel fare is expensive for not being in the center and not being around anywhere. There are not many restaurants near by for lunch/dinner.
Review 96:Nice rooms, well insulated, the place has a gym, the breakfast is abundant (but expensive if it's not included). Easy access to the airport and city centre by car or public transport. Free parking.
Review 97:Way out of central Cph. in the middle of no where on a busy road. Regret that I booked the room and didn't even show up...
Review 98:Never used the reservation as I realized how far from the center the hotel is...
Review 99:noisy room on street side. shower heads not working properly.. far from city center - long commute time
Review 100:nice pillows :-) Wonderful breakfast.. Friendly staff next to the bus stop
Review 101:Would have appreciated a kettle and a couple of instant coffee pouches/tea bags in the bedroom. (maybe available at the front desk ? I didn't ask)
Review 102:Good value for the money. Far from downtown, need a car, but very convenient for a business trip. Very clean room, good wi-fi connection. Quiet bedrooms (even though mine was facing the main road). Very friendly Staff, fast and efficient. Really enjoyable.
Review 103:The cost of the room was extremely high. It would have been good to have basic tea/coffee making facilities in the room.
Review 104:Room was comfortable and clean and well laid out. Staff were very welcoming. Quality of food was very good also.
Review 105:We definitely liked the room, it was just as expected. The bed was very comfortable and we really liked the hotel. Tv was excellent so was the wifi connection in the room. We also liked the iron & ironing board which was available to use. Overall we had a very good time staying at the hotel. Good value for money and highly recommended. (The lounge by the reception was also very beautiful and clean)
Review 106:Relatively far from the center. One bus stop situated in the main road next to the hotel with buses running every 15 minutes. Restaurant of the hotel was small and very limited menu.
Review 107:The hotel was clean and well taken care of. Staff were friendly and ready to help.
Review 108:Not walking distance from the city centre, but for me that's not a problem.
Review 109:This hotel is perfectly new, perfectly maintained, a real pleasure to stay here. I'll definitely be back.
Review 110:Extortionate breakfast price - get your morning coffee/sandwich at a nearby petrol station instead. Cheaper and tastier. Street noise - if you're unlucky and get a room facing Sjaellandsbroen. Locating the parking/entrance is tricky - small side street with almost unrecognizable hotel sign.
Review 111:Location Cleanliness Very nice bar Efficient and cheerful staff
Review 112:No aircon Right next to the freight train line and yes they run all night In the middle of nowhere, so unless you have transport you are stuck Restaurant service v.slow
Review 113:Room was clean spacious and comfortable Ate in the restaurant both nights, and the food was very good. But be patient it does take time. it is also good value Staff all very friendly
Review 114:You have to pay for toaleties at reception (tooth brush). 'Relax room' is small, could be nice, if sauna was not just 30 degree inside. Very simple hotel for this money.
Review 115:The main reason why we chose this hotel was it's proximity to the airport. However, it's not easy to access it from/to the airport as there's no metro or direct bus. You need to take one bus, that will take you to the metro and then make once change of lines. Great if you are travelling with a backpack and have time, not so awesome if you have heavy luggage and would like to take the most out of your day in the city. The city center is not at a walking distance and you either take the bus or rent-a-car. Given it's location and access, we found it a bit expensive.
Review 116:The hotel is very comfortable with a spacious entrance hall, great beds and nice deco. The wi-fi works perfectly (we stayed on the second floor) and the breakfast was overwhelming with a wide variaty of foods. The hotel offers a cheap rent-a-bike option which makes it easier to reach the city center. The Taxi drive from the airport costs ~190 DKK and there's a bus stop right off the hotel with two busses that will take you the city center. The staff was very helpful and we were able to leave our luggage for the entire day on a safe room after the checkout and before leaving to the airport.
Review 117:The first night we had room faced against the main road. That was too noisy. After complaining, we got another room on the opposite side of the building - more convenient.
Review 118:I will bring forward the breakfast
Review 119:Wifi connection was ridiculously slow. Food was ridiculously expensive - 30 Euros for a very limited evening buffet, 5 euros for 0.25l bottle of water. Breakfast 20 euros, but it was good. None of the relaxation facilities - jacuzzi or sauna - worked for the duration of our stay. We would have appreciated better information from the staff about the buses and time-tables, and getting in to the centre of town.
Review 120:The hotel was easy to find and near to the airport. There was free parking at the hotel - a big plus for Copenhagen. The rooms were pleasant. Design was modern. A bus to the centre of town goes from very near the hotel.
Review 121:It's a bit far from the city center but there is a good bus connection and the nearby waterbus is a fun way to go to the center.
Review 122:It seemed like an brand new hotel, comfortable, spacious and very quiet. Breakfast is excellent.
The Fine Print
