Reviews for City Hotel Nebo
Review 1:Shared bathrooms a slight inconvenience. More shower gel, shampoo etc. would be nice.
Review 2:Excellent location next to central station, Tivoli gardens, shopping, restaurants etc. Clean quiet hotel, warm and comfortable. Plenty of showers, wc, hot water & towels etc.
Review 3:Thin walls, therefore you could hear noice..and bit cold in the room
Review 4:Showers and toilets fine. Room was normal size but it was not double bed but 2 beds put together.
Review 5:The water pressure was really poor.
Review 6:The location is perfect, just next to the central station. The bed was comfortable and the facilities were pleasant.
Review 7:the bathrooms were a mess. Sometimes some of them were impossible to use and I had to look after the cleanest one.
Review 8:The room was very clean, and the bed was good. The staff was nice and the location is excellent. There were quite both days and nights.
Review 9:Budget acomodation but a Great location close to the central station and tivoli. We booked a budget room with shared bathroom and showers but we were impressed how clean it was in comparison with similar hotels we stayed in during the years. Also very good breakfast, basic choises but good and plenty. Great value for money would stay again.
Review 10:Strong smell, Dirty, Twin bed instead of Double, Uncomfortable, Broken and empty soap dispenser, Window cannot be closed completely, Loud, Small, Old and loud water pipes
Review 11:Location, price
Review 12:Facilities. No coffee machine, hot drinking water, microwave. We wanted one cup of hot water. The vending machine was not working so the receptionist got it from the kitchen. We were surprised when she asked us to pay for the water, equivalent to the vending machine's rate (10 DKK for one small cup).
Review 13:Location
Review 14:Our double bed en suite room was very warm and cozy, perfect escape from the freezing weather. Train station pretty much right next to the street of the hotel and just a few minutes from Tivoli and Stroget
Review 15:No kettle in the room was the only disappoint
Review 16:Nice basic hotel, had everything I needed, was clean, friendly staff, nice breakfast with fresh still hot bread. Good value
Review 17:Nothing is particularly good or bad. The hotel is average in every aspect, except for the already mentioned location. Some rooms can be quiet noisy at night. There is a strange smell in the hallway. Toilette seat was broken.
Review 18:The location next to the Central Station and, of course, the Tivoli.
Review 19:Location, low price, smiling staff and clean rooms. Some of the furniture were old, but that is not a problem to me when i only need a place to rest. I had great bed and clean sheets along with clean towels. * I´m staying there again for sure.
Review 20:The staff was helpful, however the facility and the bathroom was terrible, we even didn´t dare to take a shower. a terrible smell was coming from the pipes, the floor was squeaking... I would prefer next time to stay in another place.
Review 21:The location is the only plus
Review 22:The room description said it is an 11 m2 room with a double bed (size: 130-150 cm). At arrival they gave us a very small room (room 214) on the 2nd floor, furniture was old, and had a very strong, old smell. Also it had 2 twin beds. Since we are a couple, we wanted to have a double bed, I went back and asked the receptionist. I showed her our booking confirmation on my laptop. She was nice but first she told me that they only had rooms with twin beds and I should have pushed them together (the room was too small to do that...), then she told me that I should have requested the double bed earlier. After I explained her that there was no checkbox or any other field to request that also it was originally advertised specifically as a room with double bed (size 130- 150 cm!) therefore it was obvious to me that is going to be like that. Then she told me that I should have not waited approx. 20 minutes to go back to the reception desk (it took me that much time to get in the room and to go online to check the booking and go back). So after she tried to blame me for not requesting the double bed and going back to late, I got really pissed off. I insisted even more, then she finally gave us someone else's room on the 1st floor. It was a huge difference. It looked the room on the pictures, nice, clean, new ikea style furniture, huge bed, 11 m2...etc. We only then realized how they tried to fool us with that tiny smelly twin bedded room. It had nothing to do with the room we later got. We enjoyed our stay after this incident. Hotel has a nice lobby, helpful staff, and fantastic location.
Review 23:Location is perfect. Staff was helpful, the room we finally got was really nice, clean and quiet. Bathrooms are clean too.
Review 24:Shared bathroom, but this is the main reason why it is relatively cheap. If you cannot live with this, choose another hotel. I have stayed here a couple of times, and I have never experienced any queue for the toilets/showers. Also, the area (right behind the main station) is arguably not the nicest part of Copenhagen, so if you are travelling with children this is probably not the best choice.
Review 25:Excellent location; good value for money; room was clean.
Review 26:Most staff were friendly and helpful but when I needed to take lemsip cold remedy at breakfast-time, they made me pay for each hot water, which I thought was a bit mean.
Review 27:My room was quiet, warm and comfortable. The basin was so clean that I thought it looked new! There was always a good hot shower available, so it was no trouble not having ensuite.
Review 28:I'd suggest to split the common toilets at least between men and women.
Review 29:Location is quite comfortable , very close to the central station. The room was pretty clean and the common bathroom as well.
Review 30:Single rooms are really small. The hotel has bad acoustics - you can hear TV from the next room and when someone shuts a door it can wake you up.
Review 31:Location, location, location. Staff was very helpful. It is a cheap hotel by Copengahen prices.
Review 32:Veeeery small room but expensive. They did not accept euros and did not check me in until I have their currency. Why, do I escape without paying??
Review 33:Very convenient, easy to find, central location next to train station. (10 min train ride from airport). Small, spotless room; good value; some good restaurants/bars within a block.
Review 34:Room very hot and couldn't find way to turn heating down. But that might have been my fault.
Review 35:Staff very friendly and location excellent. Also good value for money.
Review 36:My room wasn't that clean and smelt very bad. My room was small and felt a bit run down.
Review 37:Staff were friendly and the hotel was very close to the train station. My bed was comfortable and the shared toilet area was clean.
Review 38:Thought for the cost you couldn't really fault anything. Could possibly do with tea facilities.
Review 39:liked the location, staff were friendly. Rooms were adequate but value for money. Very clean.
Review 40:facility is outdated. Bathroom needs to be properly renewed. Small room.
Review 41:location! Right beside to the train station, within walking distance to many other things and places of interest. Quiet.
Review 42:Thin pillow - probably thinner than the blanket.
Review 43:Excellent location - in the city center, a stone's throw from the central station. Small but cozy room with a sink, a comfortable bed. Toilet and shower on the floor are clean.
Review 44:Great location - right next to the central train station. Great value for money. The hotel itself is a bit older, a little run down, you have to let the water run for a bit before the shower is hot, but hey - you won't be uncomfortable. The staff is helpful, you'll have everything you need, and it's clean. The Danes don't consider this to be the best part of town, but if you're from anywhere outside of Scandinavia you'll laugh - there's no visible homelessness or crime. It's great! the centrality of the location and value make this perfect for a short stay.
Review 45:The staff at hotel are not very friendly but correct. the property looks like hostel and no 2 star hotel. the bed very very uncomfortable, carpet really dirty, bathroom was clean.
Review 46:For only 3 days is not so bad. The location is really convenient together central station and can walk by foot all important places of Copenhague.
Review 47:Stuff were not really friendly; open space to leave your luggages with your own risk; room was serious lack of facilities (basically nothing in the room, and I even had to plug out a lamp to charge my phone); no boiler in the room; bathroom was tiny considering the room was for 3 persons. It was not worth the money even in Denmark.
Review 48:location is convent for short stay travelling by train.
Review 49:they claim to have wifi in all area but the connection in room is very poor. You can't get online half of the time.
Review 50:Clean and tidy Reasonably priced Good location
Review 51:Walls are paper thin, lots of noise from neighboring rooms. Housekeeping did not change towel, even if we left it on floor.
Review 52:The location is perfect, and place is certainly affordable.
Review 53:It was a little noisy at night, because there are several night clubs in the area. The breakfast was average, nothing special.
Review 54:The hotel is located in central Copenhagen, right next to the train station. From there you can walk to all tourist attractions etc. We got an upgrade: our room was nice and pretty big, we also had stable internet.
Review 55:The acoustic insulation was completely bad. It should be fixed properly.
Review 56:The location, the price of the room, the cleanliness of the room, the staff's assistance.
Review 57:Room was too little but I expected it. Floor was in stains, some other stains on walls, furniture, etc. No hairdryer a in common bath. Only one plastic glass in the room, no personal hygiene kit.
Review 58:Common showers were clean, nothing bad to sy
Review 59:Very close to train station and walking distance to all the main attractions. The staff are very helpful. Breakfast was good. The room was small but clean
Review 60:Not the cheapest at my time of booking for what comes rather close to hostel accommodation at least in the single room lets.
Review 61:Location very central. Contribution of profits to homeless community.
Review 62:Decor was bit dated, area may have been a bit seedy but felt safe. Had to share bathroom facilities.
Review 63:Hotel was ideally located right beside train station. Hotel was basic but clean.
Review 64:Great location, right next to Central Station. Really easy to get around, either walking or by public transport. Basic hotel, but has all the essentials and good value for money.
Review 65:Basic but, clean, comfortable & very central. I was expecting to pay for wifi in my room but it turned out to be free. Lovely helpful staff, I would stay there again.
Review 66:Minus - don't have a kettle in the room. For the hot water we had to pay 10 DKK!!. Minius - it Was a little noise in the night. They slamming the doors. The neighbors leave the dirty bathroom .
Review 67:The location is very good. The Staff too - because they are very friendly and one of the receptionist was from Poland. They have a good bicycles to rent.
Review 68:Hot water for instant noodle cost 10 dkk.
Review 69:Near central station and can walk to the sightseeing place. Clean and comfortable bed. Breakfast 65 dkk but not much varieties.
Review 70:Very expensive for very little more than a shoe box, but I'm fine with that. What is unacceptable, is when the sink backwashes without warning and fills up and spills on the floor. It would be unacceptable for free, let alone the almost prohibitive price I actually paid.
Review 71:Very close to the train station. Very practical.
Review 72:Only accept Internet booking.I came one day earlier than schedule but they refused to accept in spite of rooms still available.
Review 73:Best located.Just opposite the central station and near to many tourist attractions.clean with good securities.
Review 74:Always enjoy staying at the Nebo Hotel and looking forward to going back again in December. It wasn't possible for me to get a late check out which was disappointing but overall it was a nice stay.
Review 75:The people staying in the room next door had a party in the room on two nights. Had to phone reception to get receptionist to bang on the door.
Review 76:Location was good. Right by the railway station.
Review 77:Shared toilets are not properly maintained in terms of hygiene, cleaning and facilities.. Only one towel for the room.
Review 78:- This hotel is 2/3 mins walking distance from the central train station. - Lots of restaurants and shops nearby. - Wifi coverage was excellent - Plenty of English TV channels options in your room TV.
Review 79:It is very bad smell in the hotel and room. inside the room is very poor, everything is old, should be changed for long time ago. And the bed is absolutely not good to offer any guest.
Review 80:Nothing, totally nothing at all.
Review 81:It was not very clean, the desk in my room had a lot of dust. Walls are too thin, I could hear the guest next door snore!
Review 82:The position, close to the central station. The staff was very helpful.
Review 83:There was no kettle of coffee/tea in the room.I didn't like the seediness of the area, especially with young children. We witnessed some aggressive people and it was difficult to walk up Istegade without passing some very open adult entertainment venues. This doesn't negate my view of the otherwise good hotel, but I probably wouldn't have picked the location, due to my kids, if I had known.
Review 84:I liked the proximity to the station and the breakfast was good.
Review 85:This was a surreal place... I don't even know where to start :)- strong cigarette smoke odor in the room - thin walls - the couple enjoying their time together in the adjacent room clearly didn't mind having an audience (for which I do not blame the hotel. I only blame the hotel for the thin walls :-) ) - OLD furniture and carpet - no wonder the room smells funny I gave a rather good ranking to the hotel staff despite the fact that the young gentleman at the reception didn't do anything about my complaint regarding the smell of the room. He was clearly concerned by the complaint but just didn't know how to act because the hotel was fully booked. And this isn't the kind of place that would provide an alternative accommodation in one of the hotels in the neighbourhood if something goes wrong ;)
Review 86:- The shared bathroom and toilet were clean for which I give a super big plus
Review 87:- An (hotel) alert/alarm (door was open or something similar) was continuous on from 6:50-7:20 (morning). - Afterwards cleaner start doing noise. They really wanted to through us out of the room before checkout time. - There were 2 toilets for shared rooms. One was out of order, the other was blocked. - Bed was uncomfortable. - All those things happened in 10 hours. This was the duration of my stay.
Review 88:location
Review 89:No toilet + shower in rooms. Hotel is located on a street that was very busy at least on Friday evening and street noises could be very easily heard from the room (3rd floor). So if you are very light sleeper, make sure that you get a room from the side of the courtyard (not from the side of the street).
Review 90:Located very close to the central railway station, hotel itself is quiet.
Review 91:I disliked the shared toilet/shower facility. The receptionist was not friendly. There was no air conditioning and the walls were paper-thin. The TV did not work either.
Review 92:The 24-hour reception, vending machines and water cooler were well received by me and my partner who were staying here for one night on a connecting flight from Venice to Dublin.
Review 93:Two shared toilet per floor not adequate for rush our. Not very family friendly, drunk old couples going in and out toilet - some in their underwear. No AC make room feel little stuffy.
Review 94:Great location. Helpful staff, luggage storage, elevator. Across the street from station's back exit.
Review 95:The size of the room, communal shower and toilet. The room when I arrived was so musty. I opened the window then when the room was "cleaned" the next day they would close it again.
Review 96:Only the location.
Review 97:the drapes didn't really keep out the light, a bit noisy
Review 98:good location right outside the train station, townhouse square and shopping street about 10 mins walk, friendly staff, clean room, free wifi, good value if you're on a budget and are looking for a place with a central location
Review 99:The double bed was composed by two separate single beds with an enormous gap in the middle. The sheets were covering just the mattress protection and not the whole mattress.
Review 100:Position, just a few steps from Copenaghen central. Staff. The receptionist has kindly offered to print my boarding pass.
Review 101:noisy from the street (tivoli garden)
Review 102:very good location near to train station and centre of the city, rich breakfast, possibility borrow bike, room is little, suitable for few days during visit copenhagen
Review 103:A towel was not provided on the first night; and went I asked the staff about it they advised they did not have towels available at this hotel (I was given one the second night).
Review 104:Superb location adjacent the central train station.
Review 105:I didn't eat breakfast because it costs. The hotel is very near from central station, you have other choice in the station. They keep the baggage after check out, but the space didn't seem so safe.
Review 106:The location was great. 3 minutes walk from central station.
Review 107:It was noisy at night but to be expected as near the central railway station.
Review 108:Breakfast was simple but adequate and compared with the hotel I am staying in at Skagen much more comfortable.
Review 109:I was told breakfast was included on arrival, only to be charged a significant fee at the end of the week. If Id have known I was to be charged extra, I would have eaten better food elsewhere for a fraction of the price. The staff were unfriendly and unhelpful in dealing with this mess up. Otherwise they were good. The road was also extremely noisy with motorbike gangs going by through the night
Review 110:you get what you pay for
Review 111:You get what you pay for - very basic, no kettle or tea/coffee making facilities in room or hairdryer. The shower curtain in the 'ensuite' basically made it into a wetroom. Mattress not very supportive and pillows were strange - small square shaped! Wouldn't recommend stay longer than a couple of nights.
Review 112:Great location, just a couple of minutes from Central station. Clean, bedding & towels clean & fresh, pleasant staff. TV in room. Shower had excellent pressure. Suited us for a couple of nights as a base for sightseeing after a Baltic cruise. Good lift.
Review 113:Breakfast quality and variety is really poor, and costs too much!! The room is too small. There is no aircondition and the room was to hot. There is no fridge in the room. Too many drug additcts outside the hotel. They will not harm you , but if you travel with your kids , it is better to avoid the train station area .
Review 114:It is really close to the train station . You can visit all main Copenhagens attractions on foot.
Review 115:I generally think that tiny rooms with shared bathroom should not get a good rating in the 'facilities' and 'comfort' categories, and the overall rating should be lower than the rating of a proper hotel. We also stayed in another hotel in Copenhagen which was much more central, with rooms twice the size (still only 11m2) and private bathroom, but almost the same rating (7.6) as the Nebo. And it is a bit weird that the currently best rated hotel in Copenhagen (9.4) is a guesthouse two km from the centre, with 8m2 rooms and shared bathroom. The hotel Nebo gave me what they advertised and what I expected: low quality for a low price. I don't have anything to complain, but if I give 10 points it makes the whole system of rating useless.
Review 116:Good location for the purpose of staying only one night with a late arrival and an early departure. The hotel is directly behind the main train station. Tiny room with only about 4x1.5 metres, but quite well equipped and functional in spite of the narrow space (wardrobe, small desk, chair, washbasin, several electricity outlets). Very thin walls and therefore a bit noisy. Wi-Fi available in the room, but slow (about 1 Mbps). Shared bathroom facilities with several showers and toilets near the room. The room was clean, the shared bathroom facilities okay - as you can expect with shared bathrooms. Considering the prices of other hotels in Copenhagen, the City Hotel Nebo provides good value for money. However, I would not book such a tiny room for longer than a single night.
Review 117:The hotel is at perfect location, close to the main railway station. Nearby lot of nice restaurants. I am not big fan of shared bathrooms, but I must say that these facilities were very clean so everything looked like bathroom is only yours. The hotel is for very good price taking in account prices for accommodation in Cobenhagen.
Review 118:Location is the best, 2 minutes from the central railway station. but you get the feeling it´s a pay-by-the hour hotell. The clientel on the street outside is Copenhagens "finest". Lots of activity during the night but it´s cheap and you get what you pay for, but to sleep for a few hours before hitting the road again it´s definitely ok. It´s clean and the room is what you can expect for that price.
Review 119:Room was very noisy, and noise from street echoed, in hot weather you had to have windows open as no air con. Free Wifi didn't work, I couldn't log in with given username and password, and staff couldn't help. I had lots of work to do, and couldn't... Had to book a lounge at airport before I left to get caught up.
Review 120:Location was great.
Review 121:The hotel has poor soundproofing and since my window was to the noisy street side I couldn't much sleep. The pillow was also quite thin and poor.
Review 122:The location of the hotel is perfect. Free wi-fi.
Review 123:Right beside the train station which was really convenient. Super fast check in and they let you leave your bags with them when you check out in case your flight is later in the day. The cleanliness of the shared bathrooms and showers was a real plus.
Review 124:For the price of the room, breakfast should have been included. The extra price for the breakfast was very high. I was charged for toll free calls even though the front desk staff told I wouldn't be charged
Review 125:overall the staff was friendly and helpful. The gentleman at the front desk when I checked out was the exception. had he been at the desk for more of my stay I would have lowered my rating.
Review 126:There were some undesirable people hanging around the front door, but they moved on quickly.
Review 127:Location!! Was close to everything and we were able to walk to most sites. Staff were friendly and very helpful.
Review 128:Old and run-down place, stains and holes in the walls, room so narrow I couldn't stretch out my arms all the way standing in the center, desk and closet were pretty old and missing some of their wood trim, shared bathroom, no breakfast included in price
Review 129:The location of the hotel really couldn't be better. Literally across the street from the train station and close to various attractions downtown, nice for a weary traveler.
Review 130:Wifi was a bit hit-and-miss Shower could be better
Review 131:Had a shared bathroom but was never waiting to use Excellent location to the city centre Staff were friendly
Review 132:perhaps i'm given the 2nd floor so it is near street level and is very noisy. The guests also make alot of noise talking loudly and banging the doors
Review 133:good location to popular places such as Tivoli, main shopping district. also i left a bag with them for 1 week to go greenland and they safe-
Review 134:Street facing rooms very noisy at night. Walls very thin, could hear every noise in adjoining rooms, however others in our party had rooms off street and theirs were quiet.
Review 135:Good location for central station, tivoli etc. good value for location
Review 136:I paid $126 - if I paid that in the US I would expect a lot more. This is about Motel 6 level but I wouldn't hesitate staying there again.
Review 137:Location, location, location! The hotel is absolutely nothing to write home about but it is in the BEST location. The facilities were adequate. We were there for only 12 hours. I even went downstairs in my robe to borrow the hair dryer. I asked about the "red light" district. The young man told me not to turn right out of the hotel and he was correct. I mean it was right across the street from the train station, Big Red Bus, and Tivolli Gardens - you can't get better than that for the price I paid. I would stay there again with my grandson.
