Reviews for Hotel Boutique Santa Lucia

Review 1:No hair dryer in room and no coffee pot

Review 2:Staff was great, friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good and in a regular dining room as opposed all getting in a line like cattle

Review 3:My room was 102, right next to the kitchen and service areas and was very noisy around 6 am! They woke me up everyday....

Review 4:I loved the central courtyard and the music they played at breakfast. It was a nice detail the chocolate they leave every day in my room.

Review 5:The maid. Cleaning near the mirror in the bathroom was shocking. The maid mixed used towels with cleaning towels. I think she cannot read, because I wrote a note to her to not open the window curtain and she did not follow my instructions; among other incredible things. I think that lady has some mental problems. I had to complain twice with the front desk clerk. The maid supervisor did nothing to correct the situation. Amazing!

Review 6:The location and the kindness of the lady who has short hair graying. Also, the kindness and help of the front desk clerks.

Review 7:Beautiful hotel with a great location and tons of charm - we were upgraded so had s huge room with every comfort. We ate in the restaurant twice and loved it. Would definitely recommend it and would stay there again.

Review 8:The bathroom tube wasn't proper designed, it had a door which opened towards the interior making it a splash zone all over when you open or close it, the breakfast wasn't that good or with a variety of selections.

Review 9:The attention and service! They let us a late check out at almost 2 30 pm with no extra cost, and on a Sunday afternoon on a terrible rainy storm one of the members of the staff went out to the streets to get us a cab so we wouldn't missed our flight. The staff and service of the hotel is without a doubt excellent!

Review 10:The main man in the breakfast room. To me he was somewhat oppositional. If I attempted Spanish, he repeated or responded in English. If I spoke English, he used Spanish. It took him 9 consecutive days out of 13 for him to understand that I don't eat the yogurt mixture served at breakfast. Each day he would bring it to me and I'd say, "no thanks!" North Americans don't like to have to ask to get a second cup of coffee. To me, that was the worst part of breakfast. Most inattentive of the staff. Phone connection to the room from Germany was terrible. One day, it took about 8-10 calls to have half a conversation with my daughter. In fact, I'd have to use the lobby phone to have an uninterrupted conversation.

Review 11:The room. The decorative appointments. The flower arrangements. The old-style candles. The hard work of the cleaners. The magnolia grandiflora in what was once the courtyard. A very nice touch.

Review 12:The room was large, the bathroom clean and the bed very comfortable. Location across from a gelato place helped as well. The staff were very attentive and the breakfast was good and varied.

Review 13:Since this is an historical hotel with the rooms opening onto an enclosed central courtyard, my second floor room lacked natural light... And did not have access to fresh Air directly from the outside.

Review 14:The ambience of the hotel and the location.

Review 15:Staff is extremely nice, friendly and helpful. Restaurant (and breakfast) is 5 star. Hotel is a gorgeous historic building, around the corner of the main plaza in old town. My suite (211) with balcony was worthy of kings.

Review 16:The hotel does not have an elevator. If your room is above ground level, hotel personnel will bring your luggage to your room. If you are in Cuenca on business and you forgot your laptop and your tablet, this may not be the place for you, as there is no business center there.

Review 17:The hotel is a converted palacio. The staff does a superb job in meeting the needs of the guests. Cornelio, Giovany, Genero, Felix, Marco were kind, gracious, and helpful. I highly recommend Hotel Santa Lucia to anyone staying in Cuenca.

Review 18:lack of ventilation of the room. the only window of the room is to the inside corredor. the pillows are hard

Review 19:location is excellent, facilities are very good

Review 20:The room was a bit dark.

Review 21:The central location of the hotel makes this a great place from which to explore the city. Also the hotel itself offers a very nice central atrium courtyard which provides a great setting for resting and recovering from walking and touring the city.

Review 22:can't complain about anything

Review 23:lovely, grand, opulent old world hotel breakfast was good, fresh squeezed orange juice! well priced, great location in the heart of Cuenca wifi was decent i think staff were top notch, even the maids addressed me by name in passing

Review 24:No smoking area

Review 25:We Loved our spacious room and very comfortable bed. The staff was very helpful and the location was great. I highly recommend this hotel it is one of the finest hotel in Cuenca

Review 26:The wi-fi was not always reliable, but it usually got the job done.

Review 27:The staff were excellent. They were all very friendly and helpful. The maids, doormen, waiters and desk attendants are all outstanding. The hotel is beautiful, well maintained, and very clean. The breakfast has a variety of food, including fresh fruits and juices. You can also have eggs made to order. The location is excellent, being right in the heart of El Centro, and a block away from Parque Calderon.

Review 28:Room Located next to admin. office very noisy

Review 29:excellent service!

Review 30:room is smaller than the pictures, breakfast could be better

Review 31:location is the best, near the center and bars

Review 32:Noisy because they organize alomost every day seminars or evening parties

Review 33:Location close to the cathedral and all monuments

Review 34:staff is below the usual Equatorian care

Review 35:location is great

Review 36:Great location. Older but well kept hotel with the "old times" feeling. Fantastic breakfast.

Review 37:Sound traveled thru walls Not very sound proof

Review 38:Spanish Colonial decor was excellent

Review 39:The wifi was not satisfactory. Too slow.

Review 40:The decoration, the location, and the service they provated in general.

Review 41:very nice historical building, very central, good parking. Lovely room with the best possible bed! Fast wifi, good restaurant. Very friendly staff

Review 42:el hotel es lindo, las habitaciones cómodas, el servicio es muy bueno.

Review 43:I have to say that didn't have nothing that I didn't like

Review 44:Friendly staff, bedroom very clean and bed amazing comfortable :))

Review 45:room was rather dark, needed more light

Review 46:Staff very cordial and happy to offer advise. They gave us excellent restaurant recommendations.

Review 47:They where to small, the pictures shown on the web are bigger than it looks

Review 48:The staff......the location.......the whole atmosphere....

Review 49:The staff was always nice and helpful. The restaurant was very good for dinner also. Good location and beautiful inside rooms.

Review 50:first class in every respect

Review 51:We weren't able to stay longer!

Review 52:This hotel is fantastic! The staff is over the top with exceptionally, outstanding service

Review 53:room with no view poor breakfast

Review 54:great restaurant with delicious food and good service try their ceviche - one of the best in town

Review 55:Internet is terrible!

Review 56:Good restaurant and service

Review 57:fantastic central location beautiful building with style helpful staff prompt answer to our emails great food

Review 58:Street noise in front rooms Food and food service needs improvement . Cold in courtyard. Breakfast selections poor.

Review 59:I didn't like that we were provided with two beds instead of one bed as a married couple. I also did not like that they did not make you aware that when you booked online, you card is not charged until you check out, which is fine, I just wish that was stated when the booking was done

Review 60:Very nice location. Hotel was very pretty and well decorated. It was very clean and the chocolates provided to the room everyday were delicious. It was very close to everything we wanted to see and Calle Larga was an easy walk from the hotel

Review 61:There wasn't really anything that I didn't like. I hate to sound like a broken record, but if there was a problem, the staff responded and the problem disappeared.

Review 62:The staff. For me what makes a hotel is the staff and ones interaction with that staff. At this property it was obvious that the staff had a calling, not just a job. So while the location cannot be beat, the food and facilities are excellent, none of that makes a great deal of difference if you don't have a dedicated staff.

Review 63:It was the end of my trip, and I was a bit tired of the older spanishstyle by then. Lighting was a little too dim as the room was on an innercourtyard and people in the hallways could see in if the privacycurtains weren't drawn. Not enough air circulation

Review 64:Really beautiful and well maintained with a great staff. Reallycomfortable beds and pillows

Review 65:Single beds too short for tall foreigners but I was moved and upgraded to a better room as soon as it was available. Large double bed very comfortable. Bar could offer fashionable gins such as Hendricks with Fever Tree Tonic.

Review 66:Staff extremely helpful and courteous. The internal patio was a delight, whether to eat or sit and relax or check emails. Gorgeous sitting room on the first floor. Comfortable bar. Excellent Italian restaurant. Top floor rooms the quietest. Conveniently located in the centre.

Review 67:The quiet rooms are at the rear of the hotel, so try and book one of those rooms.

Review 68:Wonderful staff, excellent town centre location. Food is very good. You won't go wrong if you choose this hotel.

Review 69:Service was poor as we ordered room service and never received it. Waiters at the morning breakfast were slow and pompous. Service at dinner was ok I might add. Upon checkout the clerk tried to sell us little models of the hotel which we found odd.

Review 70:Very good location to downtown and off street parking.

Review 71:The only thing I didn't like is that they didn't have air conditioning, we did have a fan in our room but it was a bit warm.

Review 72:The staff was very helpful, the place was very clean and comfortable and in a great location.

Review 73:Because I came so early the cleaning staff forgot to replace the soap. The stopper would not stay up.

Review 74:This is a diamond! A beautiful spot, close to everything! I checked in early. I arranged be be picked up. I wonderful old home converted with grand charm. Staff very helpful!! I will be back!

Review 75:nothing

Review 76:quaint, beautiful and almost elegant. the staff was great. food fabulous and the dining room romantic. very polite staff and people. would highly reccomend. close to central square. close to airport. i would stay there again, absolutely

Review 77:Can't think of a thing. Highly recommend.

Review 78:This hotel provides outstanding service. Due to passport issues, we needed to change our dates by a week. The hotel agreed to this despite non-refundable room bookings! Staff without exception, were friendly and helpful. Many speak very good English. Beautiful public areas, well-appointed rooms, very good WiFi, good food.

Review 79:The second night the hotel had a convention so it was a little loud about 11pm but not for long so that was good. If the hotel was full I think it might be too loud for me.

Review 80:The staff was incredible. Helpful and professional.

Review 81:That we didn't have the time to stay 2-3 days rather than our one day.

Review 82:very friendly and helpful with an umbrella during the rain-perfect location in Cuenca.

Review 83:third floor bathrooms a bit small

Review 84:Staff, restaraunt, location were all fantastic. Im now staying at Mansion Alcazar but I wish I would have stayed there instead.

Review 85:Bedrooms don´t fit with social areas and restaurant. Bedrooms need to beupdated. Also they are very hot and there are not air conditioned

Review 86:Food is excelent

Review 87:First day they did not provide the expected breakfast The reason was they did not have many guests! The rooms were lovely but they had no access to fresh air...truly needed a van in order to be comfortable

Review 88:Ambiance, charm, location, staff and dinners were simply superb

Review 89:Not much of anything and that's unusual for me to say. I normally do not give A Plusses, but this place is the exception.

Review 90:excellent service, great location, super breakfasts, good value for your money.

Review 91:The room is the only negative. The hotel is a old colonial restored andit is beautiful. Our room however was very small and the bed to small ifyou are tall. When you had a shower the water leaked onto the carpet.

Review 92:The staff at the Hotel were excellent, service could't ask forbetter. Food in both Restaurants was very good. No problems commuciatingif you do not speak Spanish Great location right in the centre of theHistorical District of Cuenca. Walking distance to attractions

Review 93:Some noise even though we were at the second floor. There should try to improve on this.

Review 94:Nice hotel that has been remodeled.. Breakfast is really good. Location is the best

Review 95:Staff were very helpful - thank you Victor and Giovanni!! Hotel very pretty and rooms comfortable. Great service.

Review 96:A window in the room would have been a bonus, but air conditioning was fine.

Review 97:Almost everything. Very good staff, very good food.highly recommended.

Review 98:Evening meals are not good. Poor prepration

Review 99:Everything except the food

Review 100:Nothing!

Review 101:Everything!

Review 102:Everything was perfect!!! Best hotel I have ever stayed in. Service was better than the Ritz,

Review 103:Very friendly and service oriented staff

Review 104:bad wifi, to expensive for no facilities, small beds, to much noise, not really nice staff

Review 105:old place renovated, good location

Review 106:Room carpets were smelly and dirty. Extensive use of chemical room deoderants instead of cleaning and replacing carpets.

Review 107:Luxurious public rooms

Review 108:airless room and noise from carpark

Review 109:helpful staff, beautiful building and good location

Review 110:Friendly, beautiful, excellent service. Has a great restaurant in the premises.

Review 111:The location was perfect and the service excellent.

Review 112:Fabulous restaurant. Great location
