Reviews for Hotel La Era de Aracena
Review 1:Some of the kitchen appliances were a bit old and tired. The house was a bit dirty although the bedding and towels were very clean
Review 2:Loved the rural setting. We stayed in the cottages which were large with outside space, great for our dog.
Review 3:There was no wi-fi excpt in the reception area. Maybe a good thing to be away from it all for a few days.
Review 4:Tranquil location and hotel. Beautiful views over Sierra Aracena. Birdwatching from terraces possible. The two receptionists/waitresses were charming, hardworking and helpful - despite my minimal Spanish. The dining room was surprisingly large with a good menu of plain Spanish food - portions were often enormous.
Review 5:It's not a 'didn't like' as there was board games in the room and we had fun, but the kids didn't like no wifi during our visit
Review 6:The view is excellent as was the dinner.would be great for a romantic getaway for 2
Review 7:Could do with a bigger signpost at main road as others have said. Also some new chairs and tables on terrace would be welcome. They are a bit wobbly!
Review 8:Staff friendly and helpful Location Delicious simple local food
Review 9:The off-road-like street to reach the hotel. Wifi not working in the bedrooms.
Review 10:The location is absolutely wonderful! The staff was extremely gentle. The great care at the details, like fresh flowers in the bedroom. The rural style of the hotel, but very elegant
Review 11:The hotel was extremely difficult to find and badly signposted.
Review 12:The staff were extremely friendly and the service was excellent. The hotel was modern and set in lovely countryside. Despite the heatwave the room stayed cool without the need for aircon,
Review 13:The long wait for food in the evenings and some meagre proportions. No choice for breakfasts- a selection of cereals and a boiled egg would have been very welcome.
Review 14:Location is superb and interesting area to visit.Friendly helpful couple who ran the hotel- did their best to please in spite of minimal help at this time of year.Obviously better in many respects in -Aug/Sept when fully staffed!
Review 15:Parking was a bit tight close to the building but was plentiful further away provided one could cope with the climb back up the hill (we had a minor age problem with that). The hotel is well off the main road and not visible from it. It is along a narrow rough track- with the roadside sign road not clearly obvious. A very small pool which we did not use but at least it was away from the building.
Review 16:Location is several Kms out of Aracena city which was very congested in mid August. Staff all very pleasant and most had a little English & our lack of Spanish was never a problem. Great Chef and an excellent choice of wines. Wonderful views from rooms and verandas. Will definitel stay again
Review 17:Nothing to do with the hotel but you can hear the road sometimes even though it is a very quiet place. When we were there the hotel itself it was very quiet but I can imagine it could be noisier in the rooms when there are more people.
Review 18:We stayed here beginning of June and though we don't speak much Spanish (a little) we could communicate easily with the owner as he is so nice, hospitable, attentive and knows how to offer great service! We had a nice dinner at the patio and the wine was great! Breakfast the next morning which was also lovely. But the best was just sitting by the pool, enjoying the view, a few tapas and wine...Very relaxing place. Also, Aracena is a nice town with some good and fairly priced restaurants and the grutas are worth visiting. Definitely recommended!
Review 19:Wifi is only available in the small reception area. It does work, though.
Review 20:The view. The beautifully situated, just large enough swimming pool). The first class customised cooking by the hotel owner (he discusses with you your wishes for the next day; hardly possible with full occupancy, I guess). Breakfast on the upper floor terrace balcony.
Review 21:Disapointing breakfast. Heating system was not very efficient.
Review 22:Lovely countryside place.
Review 23:Understand it's a rural hotel but the access road could be resurfaced.
Review 24:Excellent hotel facilities, large rooms, very clean and great food.
Review 25:Not that clean and a bit run down
Review 26:Beautiful countryside
Review 27:Complete lack of signposting from main road (it's up a dirt track, and almost impossible to find in the dark)
Review 28:Location
Review 29:get a decent sign up for the hotel-casa rural please ,drive past it if you do anymore than 20kph!!!
Review 30:nice area but an adventure to find !
Review 31:Nice pool, very friendly staff!! Beautiful views
Review 32:the location, the staff, the food
Review 33:Pool area was very small, but early days we think
Review 34:Beautiful scenery, lovely room. Lots of walks from the hotel
Review 35:No wifi
Review 36:Quiet if not secluded. Comfortable rooms and all rooms have open views over the mountains and valleys.
Review 37:The mountain view from the rooms and dining areas. Friendly and efficient staff. Great simple food.
Review 38:Everything,great food comfortable rooms cleanliness and the friendly staff. Highly Recommended
Review 39:Great location, comfortable rooms, cleanliness, friendly staff and great food. Highly recommended !!!!
Review 40:Delightful staff team - very friendly, caring and helpful. Good sense of humour too
Review 41:Everything. Friendly staff, even if language was not shared, excellent meals, great and quiet views. Parking at door.
Review 42:Out little two sweater convertible wasn't too keen on the unmade drive!
Review 43:Rural Spain at it's best. The views from the window were stunning. The meals and hospitality were excellent.
Review 44:The restaurant was appointed to at least 3 star standard, but the foodwas limited and very expensive. Just two very personable people appearedto run everything. Something that could easily be addressed and then youhave here something extraordinary at the price.
Review 45:For a hostal rating, it was stunning! The appointment was much betterthan many rated hotels in Spain that I have stayed in - even a small butadequate swimming pool. The views were beautiful - down across the treestudded vale and away toward distant vistas of the Sierra Morena.
Review 46:Look for a sign which says simply Hotel Restaurante rather than the actual name of the hotel when you are turning off the main road. It didn't matter that our casa rural wasn't ready when we arrived at 2.30pm, we went straight on to nearby Minas de Rio Tinto for our train ride. When we got back at 8pm we checked straight in. A delay in receiving the booking from Booking.Com was given as the reason. Breakfast was basic, but it was Easter and shops would have been closed.
Review 47:La Era de Aracena is well off the road, qualifying it as rural accommodation and our two rooms, kitchen and lounge were well equipped. The staff were friendly. We could drive into the Aracena village in minutes and it was a good place to stay for our two day visit to the Rio Tinto mine about 20 minutes down the road and the grotto in Aracena.
Review 48:The design of the rooms doesn't allow much privacy and they are a little on the small side. It would be nice to have some sort of seating area in front of each room to enjoy the views. Signage: Quite difficult to find as there is no sign on the main road. We had to drive into right into Aracena and ask. Better signage for the reception, bar, etc. on and within the building would also help on arrival.
Review 49:Great location and super views. Nice dining hall with the bar and the open fireplace.
Review 50:Absolutely fantastic view. Excellent breakfast. One of my best stay in entire Spain ...
Review 51:The rooms where very noisy.
Review 52:Beautiful rooms with a great view and great breakfast
Review 53:lovely friendly owners.great views calm good place to relax.
Review 54:The road to the hotel was very bad and the staff could only speakspanish
Review 55:Nice view Friendly staff
