Reviews for Gästehaus Marchler

Review 1:Excellent location for a quiet and relaxed break. Surrounded by the towering Alps ideal location for doing some trekking or just getting away from everyday hassle. Because it is well up in the mountains a car is a necessity. Will definitely return.

Review 2:The owners are very helpful and pleasant, rooms are very nice, clean and comfortable, beautiful environment outside, absolutely quiet at night. Our family was very happy to stay in this guesthouse. We absolutely recommend you this place.

Review 3:Walls very thin: hear bathroom sounds from next rooms. They should also provide outside seating breakfast area and should consider evening meals

Review 4:Really friendly family team. Great location

Review 5:Nothing!!

Review 6:Abslolutely splendid and quiet location with spectacular views over the mountains and meadows, extreme friendly owners, excellent breakfast buffet with fresh fruits, comfortable clean room etc.

Review 7:Need to find a spot to connect to the internet.

Review 8:Nice quiet and peaceful location close to Obersalzburg and to Salzburg itself (30 minutes). Nice hosts.

Review 9:Nichts. Gästehaus Marchler ist die beste!

Review 10:+ Incredibly welcoming staff - I believe they're all family + Secluded location nestled right into the mountains + Breakfast is extremely fresh and local + Look out your window, enjoy your view of the Alps. + Town is not nearby, so you must be sure to enjoy the steep mountain roads and be careful not of the free-roaming cattle.

Review 11:The owners at Gasthaus Marchler were very helpful and accommodating. Very comfortable rooms with a beautiful, breathtaking views of the Alps. A convenient starting point for our car trips to Salzburg, Konigsee, and Berctesgaden. A trampoline and small swing set helped keep the children entertained. Breakfast was fresh and plentiful. Nice bar area, a lot of fun watching with the other guests Germany win the World Cup!

Review 12:A bit difficult to find, especially in light of a recent road closure due to construction. Wifi is too weak to penetrate the outer reaches of the hotel.

Review 13:This family-run hotel is everything you'd expect in a Bavarian guest house. The owners were flawlessly gracious in showing us around and getting us situated. The setting, high up on the mountain above Bischofswiesen offers a panoramic view of the mountains surrounding Berchtesgaden and Königssee. Excellent choice of restaurants all within a ten minute drive.

Review 14:I booked a triple room but when I checked-in, I was given a simple room with a double bed and an extra bed, much inferior to the one I have booked that should be around 37 m² with seating area and balcony. Not until I approached the host the next day, she admitted that there was overbook and agreed to charge me for a double room. However, at the end, she charged me a double room plus 18 Euro per day for the breakfast of the 3rd person (just an ordinary cold breakfast), resulting in not much reduction over the triple room price. It was a rip off, if not treachery.

Review 15:Beautiful location!

Review 16:Wi-Fi was a little bit weak

Review 17:No kettle for drinks no food

Review 18:Views are great

Review 19:Only drawback was a weak WIFI in many areas of the building.

Review 20:Fantastic location with wonderful views. Great hostess. Laundry for only 3 Euros.

Review 21:I couldn't stay longer

Review 22:Nothing not to like. Hosts excellent. Facility clean and welcoming. Good breakfast and great overall atmosphere.

Review 23:Everything was amazing.

Review 24:Breakfast was good, but rather standard (no boiled or scrambled eggs, no fresh veggies etc.) Closest restaurant is 20-minute walk from the Hotel

Review 25:Large, clean and comfortable rooms Spacious balcony offering great mountain views Small, but cosy bar with friendly staff Very good value for money (but mind the 20€ per night surcharge for stays <3 nights!)

Review 26:Extra charge for Wi Fi. A free tea or coffee would have been nice on arrival. Lots of invasive noise coming from other guests.

Review 27:Location and hospitality.

Review 28:Can't think of anything.

Review 29:Views of the Alps were breathtaking. Room was quite comfortable with asit down bath tub - the only one I've experienced in Europe.Contrary to other reviews, we did not find the hotel hard to find.

Review 30:The unbelievable heat of the day remained during the night and it was unbearable to sleep on the first night in the room on the 2nd floor, which I specifically requested. AC would usually not be necessary, so maybe an electric fan would help.

Review 31:Very cozy warm atmosphere created from the hosts of the house and the house building itself. Very nice breakfast buffet and very nice room settings. I would have loved to stay a whole month!

Review 32:It was all great. You do need your own transport to get here since it is out in the country.

Review 33:Beautiful guesthouse in fantastic country location with great views. Host was friendly & helpful. Breakfast was great. Close to many attractions in the area.

Review 34:There really wasn't anything not to like except that the light overmy side of the bed didn't work. The week we were there some folkswho come several times a year arrived and kind of took over the place, but not a big deal. Assuming one is driving, go to the Tourist Infooffice in town to get a map & directions to the place. Otherwiseyou're going to be at a loss.

Review 35:Almost everything. The setting is fabulous. The room is nice. Heimatbendin Bischofswiesen was great. Had a chance to wear my dirdnl, hear someold-fashioned German music, see some dancers and the HolzhackerBu'an. Convenient to the train to Berchtesgaden. Excellentinnkeepers.Good breakfast. Kitchen available to put together your ownevening meal if you choose to do so. Good restaurants in the area.

Review 36:Internet was spotty, bed headboard recessed, difficult to sit up in bed, sofabed uncomfortable.

Review 37:Welcoming hosts, isolated mountain view location, peace and quiet, balcony, breakfasts, beer, value.

Review 38:The extra cot wasn't comfortable for an adult. Third adult should get a twin bed not a cot with a bar under the mattress.

Review 39:Great comfortable mattress on bed. Great decor. Friendly owners and beautiful home and setting.

Review 40:Wish we could have stayed longer.

Review 41:Alexandra and Markus were great hosts. The accommodations were very comfortable. We especially liked the quiet surroundings of the country-side with beautiful views of the surrounding Bavarian mountains. A great way to start a vacation.
