Review 1：Wonderful, polite staff, great food, comfortable rooms, reasonable prices for everything, great beach beautiful grounds. Owner, Juan Morales, takes a personal interest in his guests' comfort. Best family vacation ever! Highly recommend.

Review 2：Nothing was open, it seemed semi derelict, no beach bar, pool bar, Lotus bar all closed, only the Green Jack restaurant open, no water sports equipment and Gym machines not working and spa unattended

Review 4：Due to Puerto Plata's location, and the hotel's secluded area, it's far from other dining and recreational options. The price is fair for the stay, although for the lack of amenities included in the rooms, I would expect the suites to be priced at 150 instead of 180 and the regular rooms at 100 instead of 150.

Review 5：The hotel is a great overnight and golf entusiast stay. With a fair golf course and a great beach, you have the best of both worlds.

Review 6：Almost nothing. The filling of the minibar is a little inconsistent. When I visited the first time it was filled with various beverages, the second time only with water. But they don't charge you, so... Also, some ants in the bathroom, but this is not uncommon in this country, regardless of the place.

Review 8：The full breakfast that was included was superb. I experienced the best fresh, natural fruit juice that I've ever had in my life! Mix the orange and pineapple juice and you'll see why!

Review 9：I loved everything about this resort. Even though it's not all-inclusive, this resort is well worth the stay. The level of service we got was amazing, the staff was attentive and always ready to help. The beds on the beach sold me but the beach itself can't be beat. Private and no more than a few minutes walk from your room. All in all, this is one resort I will be returning to. (A side note, the owners of the hotel also own Brugal Rum so make sure you check out the rum factory. The rum there is excellent and super cheap)

Review 10：If staying in Dorados surrounded by luxurious resorts, Blue Jacktar is the only option you should make. You don't have to book all inclusive (as in all other hotels), good facilities, close to the Dorados area exit and therefore short walk to get guagua to airport and everywhere, super comfy bed and nice staff, good food in restaurant (but as you pay separately, easy to eat also elsewhere), nice beach front and easy to go for a walk in the beach

Review 11：The staff were very pleasant and accommodating, our stay included free breakfast. We ate at the Green Jack restaurant which was a little bit of a letdown due to the food. WiFi was great, overall we enjoyed our stay.

Review 16：Outside of the resort, restaurant choices were limited and the one I tried (Jade Asia) was cheap, but the quality of the dishes was poor. So, either be prepared to eat at the Green Jacktar restaurant every night or to travel a few miles to find something decent to eat.

Review 17：I really enjoyed the location on the beach, while being surrounded by a golf course. The staff were really friendly and helpful and the restaurant offered enough variety to satisfy me for the week.

Review 18：No hot water in the shower - had to use the jetted tub. The pool bar was closed the whole time we were there. The beach bar closed every evening at 5.00 (or was it 6.00?). On our fourth day the pool was closed without warning for maintenance, which was a HUGE disappointment. Nice location close to the sea, but no restaurants/bars nearby. Specialty items on breakfast menu not available every day.

Review 19：The beach beds are unique and a wonderful place to relax and enjoy a beverage from the bar, but closed early. The room (junior suite) was excellent, but lacked hot water. The pool is excellent, but closed half way through our stay. Good breakfast selection (included), but some items not available every day. Good on-site restaurant, but it is the only one in walking distance.

Review 45：Like our own private resort!We just returned from 7nts at Blue Jack Tar and had the most amazing time!My husband and I are late 30s and well traveled all over Latin America, Europe and the Carribean so we have pretty specific things we look for to make a place awesome.Check-in was easy and we were driven by golf cart to our room (King Deluxe). The room was spacious and extremely clean with a king size bed a mini refrigerator, a safe, a bathroom with shower and sliding glass door to the patio. Each day we had twice daily maid service with fresh towels and fresh beach towels.The complementary breakfast each morning was awesome. Fresh fruits of your choice, eggs, bacon, pancakes or whatever other breakfast items you'd enjoy. The coffee was delicious and so were the fruit milkshakes.The pool was extremely deep and clean with a swim up bar although the bar was rarely staffed during our stay. The place to be was the beach and it was amazing.Beautiful white sand, clear water that was the perfect temperature, beach cabanas and chaise lounges that were plentiful and a great music selection made it great but it was the service at the beach that made it so fantastic. We had lunch here almost every day and piña coladas every afternoon.Everything here is extremely inexpensive from the piña coladas to the food at Green Jack (the breakfast is of course complementary).Overall it was the staff that was the best part of our stay at the Blue Jack Tar. Everywhere we went and everything we needed was taken care of immediately. They were friendly, they helped us practice our Spanish and attended to everything that we could think of throughout our stay.We made a trip to La Sirena (big grocery) on day 1 for snacks, sunscreen and sodas and then after that we basically never left the hotel. We ventured into Puerta Plata on one of the days and felt the town left a lot to be desired as far as Latin American tourist spots go.

Review 48：Lovely, quiet hotel. Great location. Food excellent - chose as all a la carte rather than all inclusive. Staff very attentive and service was great. All rooms recently modernised. Free wifi throughout complex, including beach, though was somewhat intermittent. Overall, an excellent hotel and great value for money for both accommodation and the bar/restaurant.
