Reviews for Landhotel Huberhof
Review 1:Only had a problem with the front desk. We paid with cash for the room and dinner before checking out. When we went to turn in the keys the next morning, we were told our bill hadn't been closed. We're still waiting to see if they charge us again on our credit card. I should have asked for some sort of receipt. Incredibly disappointed that the front desk didn't close our bill when we paid.
Review 2:Location is great.
Review 3:On outskirts of Schwangau in countryside setting overlooking the lake which was sadly lacking in water. Comfortable large sized ensuite room with bath (slightly dated but nonetheless functional which is more important).
Review 4:As the hotel had very few guests at the beginning of December, it could have been good if they had cleaned the mosquitos off the walls and the shower drain.
Review 5:It was along a beautiful lake and the scenery was just breathtaking. It was the most enjoyable places I have stayed because of the atmosphere. I would highly recommend staying at this place if you are traveling in this area of Germany.
Review 6:Smell of cigarettes everywhere. Even if somebody smokes on a balcony while hotel has a smell in the rooms. A lot of people smoking around. You can not even open a window in a night.
Review 7:The hotel is located close to a lake and camping area, but a little bit far from city centre. A little more attention need to b paid to the cleanliness of the rooms.
Review 8:Cozy and family owned hotel, with helpful employees and a good restaurant. Rooms had a pleasant size and a small balcony.
Review 9:Weather was warm in the Summer and there is no air conditioning. Wireless internet was weak.
Review 10:Unique country hotel. Cows in pasture not far from hotel. Nice scenery. Nice break from big cities. 5 min away from Neu Schwanstein Castle. Located directly next to a nice lake with a walking and bike trail around it. Good food in the morning and also from the restaurant for Dinner. Loved the beergarden outside the hotel. Ate dinner outside our first night there. Plenty of parking for your car directly outside. Friendly staff.
Review 11:1.- We arrived at the hotel at 19.30 hours, at 19.45 we were sitting at a table to have dinner. Minutes later came the waiter to inform us that the kitchen was closed!!!! That was very disappointing as after a long journey we felt tired and wanted to eat something at the hotel. 2.- Breakfast time begins too late, at 8 o'clock!. My son and his fiancée had to collect the tickets to visit the castle at 8.30, so they could not enjoy their breakfast.
Review 12:Beautiful views, close to a lake, the decoration of the rooms.
Review 13:Poor wifi signal. Annoying flies everywhere, especially in the breakfast room.
Review 14:The location - a view of the lake, pretty quiet and yet a short drive from Schwangau and Fuessen. Friendly English speaking staff. They provided us with a Koenigscard for discounts for many attractions in the area.
Review 15:The place looks like a post card. Down a road off of the highway into a small cluster of homes and hotels. Small lake to walk along and only 15 minutes from Fussen. The two Castles are very close to this hotel.
Review 16:The only drawback was breakfast which was included wasn't until 9 am. We had to be at Neuschwanstein to pick up our tickets at 8:20.
Review 17:We enjoyed the location and the outdoor eating and beer garden.
Review 18:Flies in the breakfest room (flies on food!) No wi-fi signal in the rooms and very slow internet (almost impossible to use) near the reception.
Review 19:Great location, vicinity of the castle, closeness of the lake, nice garden, relaxing atmpsphere, good parking (and free), big and clean rooms with balcony, tea/coffee fascilities in the room.
Review 20:The Wi-Fi was almost nonexistent, we asked for a ground level room if there wasn't an elevator, there wasn't and the room was on the 2nd floor. There were a lot of flies everywhere and as there are no screens on the windows the only way we could use the room was to leave the lights off.
Review 21:The management helped us with our luggage to the second floor. The room was large and comfortable for 3. It was nice to have 2 English language TV stations. The dinners in their restaurant were very good.
Review 22:Bad decision to stay, restaurant service very slow, many flies due close to cow and horse farm, smelly as well. Staff is not helpful and rude, some insects in the room
Review 23:A lot of flies in the room, anywhere in the hotel. Noisy tractor next to hotel. Balcony without any separation, no privacy. Noisy drunk people in next room in the night gathering at balcony.
Review 24:Ordinary restaurant available in the hotel. Staffs are all fine.
Review 25:Our room was very roomy and comfortable. The setting was peaceful and just right for relaxing walks. We enjoyed the convenience of the on site restaurant and our waiter was fantastic.
Review 26:Wifi was spotty. Farm setting - which means flies.
Review 27:Very reasonable rate for the traveler not expecting the everything. Family owned for a few hundred years! Friendly lodging. Country setting. Nice complementary breakfast. Booked very late and received good instructions in English for arrival after hours.
Review 28:Finding a letter sellotaped to the door saying "welcome, it's our day off - your key is on the windowsill, see you at breakfast". So, no use of sauna or wifi.
Review 29:Location close to Hohenschwangau & Neuschwanstein palaces, as well as great restaurant close to the nearby lake
Review 30:There is nothing I do not like this hotel
Review 31:We lived in The south apartments in the hotel. It was excellent! The room is very clean and tidy with a small kitchen. The restaurant in the hotel provide excellent food for breakfast and dinner.
Review 32:The wifi was terrible, but it did not matter because you don't need it here!
Review 33:The location was wonderful with great views! The staff was so friendly and easy check-in. The room was clean, neat, and spacious for the 3 of us.
Review 34:WIFI non existent in the room (1st floor above restaurant) and temperamental even within the restaurant and reception areas. Room was close to the stairs and it was generally quite noisy in the evenings and early morning, as sound carried easily through the walls and floor. None of the staff mentioned sauna or steam bath so we missed that completely.
Review 35:Location was great for visiting castles and surrounding area. Parking was easy even though we stayed over a busy Easter weekend. Breakfast was good with plenty of options and the bed was comfy. Also would like to mention the boy serving in the restaurant who was very helpful and friendly.
Review 36:the Hotel is listed as being in Schwangau. It is in fact in a nearby village
Review 37:Very friendly staff nice, traditional decorations comfortable, quiet good breakfast Worth the money there was a card included in the hotel price, with which we got free entrance to some places or at least discount.
Review 38:Just a few steps from Forggen lake. The scenery is just amazing. Room is very spacious and comfortable. Delicious breakfast. A good place to relax and be with the one you love :)
Review 39:1) Pretty expensive, as every other hotel there. 2) Wifi is very bad. Should be expected, being in the heart of eco-tourism area. 3) Damn chandelier in 3-people room. We hit it with our heads no less than a dozen times.
Review 40:1) Big, free and safe parking lot. 2) Very charismatic hotel. Half of it is almost 500 years old. 3) Friendly and helpful staff. 4) Beatiful and quiet location. You can't get any closer to the lake than this. 5) Restaurant in the hotel, which means really tasty and not that expensive dinner and supper. 6) Breakfast was pretty good (not the best though)
Review 41:Unfortunately, the wifi connection was spotty at best. The staff were a bit aloof by American standards.
Review 42:The setting is a bit difficult for those without a car, but we loved being in the small settlement of Brunnen and near the farms and lake. The staff were very helpful, the rooms were nicely appointed, and the restaurant was excellent.
Review 43:We travelled with my mother and step father. When they entered their room the toilet had not been flushed. Not too big of a deal so they flushed it. Next they saw kids candies on the floor. Not too big a deal the picked them up and threw them in the trash. When it came time to go to bed they threw back the sheets to find long black hairs in the bed and multiple "stains". At that point they went to the front desk to complain. The man at the front desk came to the room. He apparently did not believe them about the toilet and the hair as the " evidence" was gone!!!! He did however change the bed for my parents. The part where the poor customer service comes in is the mans attitude. He calls himself the manager. The whole time the following morning when we went to the front desk to pay and check out he just has a very rude grin on his face smiling whilst we were complaining. He basically called my 71 year old mother a liar and said she was rude!!!!!! He is the rude one in this situation and when we check into a hotel we expect to be given a room which has been cleaned!!!!!! That is the minimum you should expect and when someone complains treat them with respect. The man refused to give my mother and reduction in room rate saying that she was rude!!!! Sir, you are the rude one!!!!!
Review 44:The hotel is actually nice. We have stayed here before. The rooms are comfortable. Nice restaurant and breakfast buffet was very nice with many choices. Rural location with views of the farm and fields, cows and horses
Review 45:Our room was in the third floor and there were no ordinary windows but only windows were to the roof and very high.
Review 46:Good breakfast. We had nice and clean apartment with kitchen. Hotel has a good position.
Review 47:Wifi is slow, but to be fair the poor owners have the same problem, but you can have a wonderful holiday without wifi!!
Review 48:Staff, quiet location, scenic, food was excellent,. Close to fussen and surrounds without the tourist bustle
Review 49:Breakfast buffet was good, except for a few flies.
Review 50:Great location for visiting Neuschwanstein castle, and by a lovely lake. Good value, and nice restaurant.
Review 51:no elevator, so had to carry suitcase up 2 floors.
Review 52:the hotel restaurant is great! dishes are very tasty and at reasonable cost! hotel staff are helpful; we have to check out early before 8am (normal breakfast time), they accommodated by opening up breakfast 20mins early!
Review 53:If you are looking for a castle view, this isn't quite it... But you can see the castles across the pastures immediately next to the hotel (from its parking lot, basically).
Review 54:Good location, about 5 minutes drive to the parking lots to visit the castles. Located on a small road with cattle grazing with cowbells alongside. So charming! The room was very spacious with a large terrace (we were on the ground floor). We had both breakfast and dinner at the hotel restaurant, and both were fantastic. Great atmosphere, service, and food. Highly recommend!
Review 55:Everything: from location, to professional and friendly staff, to comfortable and pleasantly decorated interiors, to the excellent breakfast everything contributes to the unique and unforgettable experience that Landhotel Huberhof offers to its guests. Congratulations!
Review 56:You need to get logon details from the receptionist which for some devices expire everytime you leave the hotel and device lights out. Reception and hotel closes at 8pm which is a bit early.
Review 57:Situated just right about 10mins drive from the Castles and in the middle of fields, next to some other small hotels and a big lake which is good for swimming. Parking is not a problem.
Review 58:Wifi was not available (though promised). With the poor cell reception, I had issues working on one of my client's issues while I was away from office.
Review 59:for WiFi you get a code and that didn't really want to work very well, but when you're in a place like that, who needs to be online :)
Review 60:We arrived at the hotel soaking wet from rain earlier that day and the staff immediately offered to use the 'hot' room in the basement to help us dry our clothes. We also dined at the hotel in the evening and both enjoyed our dishes a lot. The breakfast catered to all tastes - whether you eat light and just choose muesli and yoghurt, or want eggs, or just something sweet - the hotel had it all. Room clean, bed comfortable. Also got great directions when we checked out in the morning (+ the hotel is a partner of the Königs card system, so you can also enjoy a lot of free stuff while staying there).
Review 61:The internet was very hit and miss and got fed up of hitting my head on the low light in the room.
Review 62:The room was a good size for three adults and in a good location for the castles. Very clean and friendly staff. We would stay here again.
Review 63:Wi-Fi was slow.
Review 64:This was a great little hotel! The location was excellent and the staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. Their restaurant served excellent food. We would definitely stay here again.
Review 65:Wi-Fi was a bit iffy, but honestly, it didn't really matter.
Review 66:We loved this hotel. What an unexpected surprise! Quintissentially german, but clean, modern, cosy, and very helpful staff. If we could have stayed another night, we would happily have done so. Restaurant was great, as was the proximity to the lake for swimming, and the castles. :-) Highly recommended!
Review 67:Poor Wifi, more or less useless.
Review 68:Very genuine Bavarian countryside hotel, still close to lots of sporting and family activities. Spacious apartment with separated bedrooms and balcony, with view over a farm and the lake. Nice personnel.
Review 69:No conditioner. The hotel closes it's doors after 10 pm and you have to have your keys with you. It's not like there's something to do in the town after this time, so its not a big of an issue.
Review 70:The hotel is located in the village of Schwangau within 5 minutes walking distant from the lake Forrgensee. The location is very buitiful with mountains on the background, cows and horses in the fields. The walk to Neuschwanstein Castle takes about an hour, but it worth it, because of scenery. The hotel rooms have a nice village feeling, WiFi is working fine and the hotel has a big parking lot. Nothing more to wish.
Review 71:We had to take Breakfast in a very cold room.
Review 72:Powder milk in room....

Review 101:Very hot days so lots of flies in the dinning room and in the kitchen. This can be avoided by having a flies-killer machine in the kitchen.
