Reviews for Gasthaus Jakober

Review 1:Reasonable amount of traffic on very narrow streets incl. big buses. Church bells can be loud, but hotel provides ear plugs

Review 2:Super friendly staff, excellent restaurants with high quality food.

Review 3:Very noisy from traffic with bus fumes below window. But had to be here as a jazz band held forth on Friday night and I had travelled overnight.

Review 4:Very characterful as a 15 century inn now refurbished but remaining old wood and decor in p,aces

Review 5:Alpbach is remote and very small.

Review 6:Located right in the middle of Alpbach directly across the street from the church. Be aware that the bells do ring loudly (but that's reality in small villages). I just use my sound app on my cell phone and sleep with a noise that drowns everything else out. Breakfast was not as robust as others places I've stayed.

Review 7:Wi Fi was a little hit or miss. If you don't like to be awoken by church bells then this might not be the place for you as the church is right across the street.

Review 8:Great location right in the middle of town! Could walk to everything in the small village. Great Food!!

Review 9:The sofabed which was provided as third bed for my kid was unconfortable, even for kids standards.

Review 10:Appartment was in nearby guesthouse, "Kramer". Was basic, but OK for the night. Breakfast was in a third building, in the Pizzeria, but with a wide choice of breads and sides, great coffee, service and athmosphere.

Review 11:Was booked in this hotel but check-in, breakfast & check- out was in the adjacent pizzeria. We were given a room in a building nearby so we never got inside the hotel we booked!

Review 12:No idea as was not given a room in the Gasthof Jakober

Review 13:The wifi was very slow, but we did not bother so much about it.

Review 14:Nice big rooms Comfortable beds Good breakfast buffet Friendly staff Centrally located in Alpbach. Next to the church.

Review 15:That it doesn't provide with other meals than breakfast after the skiing season is over.

Review 16:The clean and quite room And excellent location. Friendly host and helpful.

Review 17:Arrival wasn't very well organised- coming into a busy bar with no obvious hotel staff on hand, not shown to room (which was in another building) and left to work out where everything was yourself. Hotel bar in high winter season might be a bit too lively for some people, and probably not suited to families, although for us it was fine. View from the room wasn't great although the resort has stunning views.

Review 18:Good breakfast and well located in Alpbach next to ski bus stops. Good pizza restaurant. A couple of lively bars and restaurants nearby although room didn't suffer from noise. Room large, comfortable and clean. Staff were helpful in returning some lost property.

Review 19:The property has a great location in the middle of the village, but the downside is there is potential for noise - I was glad we were in an annex rather than the main building or above the pizza restaurant. Wifi signal in the annex wasn't super-reliable. My only comment on the room is the skylight could do with a blind, as it gets very light in the morning.

Review 20:The property is right in the middle of the village, super-close to the ski bus stop. The owner and his daughter were really friendly and helpful, booking taxis and looking up bus and train times for us, and even gave me a glass of bubbly on my birthday! The room was clean and spacious, and the Gasthaus Jakober restaurant was great too, highly recommended!

Review 21:Rooms were a bit cool in temperature when we came in from skiing. WiFi clumsy: had to log in each time used.

Review 22:Location is great for getting up the mountain and for exploring the village. Rooms clean and fresh.

Review 23:Had to get ski bus to slopes, on the up side. its free, you can also get the post bus (free) if you have a lift pass. Always on time

Review 24:Lovely Gasthaus, Staff excellent and attentive. Food great loads of choice for breakfast and the evening meal was well presented and very tasty. Thanks for having everyone.

Review 25:A bit cold in the night - couldn't turn up the heat Parking can be a bit tight, but wasn't a problem for us

Review 26:Super friendly staff, great access to Alpbach ski lift, great restaurant

Review 27:Brilliant property. Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. Opp the ski bus drop off point. 2 mins from the bus stop. 3 min walk from town nursery slope. Opp ski school office. Great food, comfy beds. Perfect!

Review 28:wifi code needed to be re-entered each time device re-connected to wifi after exiting/reentering building - a very minor gripe! smoky bar, but that seems to be the case all over Austria still

Review 29:excellent breakfast served at next door cafe/pizzeria; individually-prepared coffees (e.g. latte, cappucino etc) served instead of typical jug of filter coffee. location ideal. both in-house restaurant and next-door pizzeria (same owners I think) very good

Review 30:No reception as such Very thin curtains - would wake me up early in the summer Quite village but some traffic noise due to hotel location on a corner

Review 31:Very friendly restaurant staff Good quality and value food

Review 32:Rooms were in a different building to the breakfast area. Would not normally be a problem but one of our party had an injury which affected mobility. This layout could prove challenging for any person with mobility issues.

Review 33:Staff were extremely welcoming and their english was excellent. Food was delicious and represented good value for money. Breakfast was very well presented, with a variety of food that would suit most tastes.

Review 34:I thought we'd be staying in the main house, not the annex, which was very disappointing. There should be twin bed options.

Review 35:The food and service were great, and the location is perfect.

Review 36:Everything - Devine service and atmosphere

Review 37:For such a beautiful , quiet village, we couldn't sleep because it was so noisy all night!

Review 38:No lift to the upstair. Not enough offerings in the room. There are a lot of flies in breakfast room.

Review 39:Gourgeus gluten free bread, asking for it in advanced

Review 40:Pod oknom jediná krčma v obci otvorená do tretej ráno. Neskutočne veľký hluk, partying in the street under the window to 3.00 am

Review 41:luxus

Review 42:staff and No AC or good ventilation

Review 43:Nice area for one day

Review 44:Nothing bad, just a plain functional hotel room.

Review 45:Loved staying at Alpbach! Lovely time, great mountain hikes, friendly people.

Review 46:No wifi

Review 47:Car park place.

Review 48:- location - view from the room

Review 49:- surrounding

Review 50:Spacious room, enough light, grand view. Few steps away from main restaurants and shops.

Review 51:Food lacked a little finesse, as though the chef wasn't quite on the ball. Unusual for the hotel not to be open in the mornings

Review 52:As above

Review 53:Wifi didn't work properly.

Review 54:Cosy and comfortable room. Good breakfast.

Review 55:Quoted one price then charged more as I was given a bigger room which I did not ask for, without my knowledge.

Review 56:Location. View of church and mountains.

Review 57:Right in the centre of Alpbach, best views of romantic chalets and mountains around from your balcony..

Review 58:Non-existant wifi in the room.

Review 59:Lively, friendly atmosphere at night.

Review 60:Just about all of it, good food, great staff and great atmosphere

Review 61:The wifi reception is poor.

Review 62:Clean room, comfortable bed and good breakfast.

Review 63:Slightly noisy as in centre of the village.

Review 64:Fantastic breakfast and service. Very convenient location.

Review 65:Location and the atmosphere at the hotel

Review 66:clean, tidy, spacious,great food.

Review 67:Everything worked (as it should) Hot shower - night and day Surprisingly quiet Centre of Alpbach

Review 68:Location was beautiful and the room was huge.

Review 69:Very nice breakfast served in a pizzeria next to the gasthaus. Situated right in the middle of the village.

Review 70:Good clean, property professionally run in a very special part of the world. Scenic location high in the Alps of the Tyrol region. Would definately return and certainly recommend to friends and family. Good breakfast included and the costing is very reasonable. Restaurants in walking distance. Don't hesitate to book this property as you will be absolutely pleased with your choice after arrival. Regards, Ross and Denise from downunder.

Review 71:Bit warm with the windows closed - bit noisy at times with the windows open as close to a bar

Review 72:superbly located for the ski bus and nights out Nice balcony Clean, comfortable and spacious

Review 73:Great location translates into right opposite the church whose bells ring at 6AM, but that's not really a big worry.

Review 74:GREAT location, right in the centre of Alpbach. Lovely breakfast and a good apres ski bar in the hotel.

Review 75:Internet a little slow/intermittent but not a problem when there to ski! A little noisy at pub closing time on Friday night but again not a problem for us.

Review 76:Breakfast was excellent, very central location, staff helpful, rooms very clean. Ski room handy at front door.

Review 77:The Jakober bar was scruffy and smokie, and there was no reception area. Also our room in the sperate building was adjacent to the only late night 'pub' and the noise from 11:00pm to 04:00am was unbelievable!! A glass pain in the entrance door to our apartment block was smashed on our arrival and was left with jagged glass hanging from it for the full week.

Review 78:The room was spacious and kept very clean. Breakfast was good, although the hot food did not get served for the 1st hour!

Review 79:Was not what I booked !! Did not have a room in the Guesthaus Jakober, spoke to the owner who could not help as fully booked,,, very disappointed expensive for a standard guest house room where we had to walk up the hill to breakfast.

Review 80:Breakfast very good plenty of choice.

Review 81:Location was perfect right in the centre of the village. Breakfast was good with a variety of choices and the pizzeria owned by the hotel had plenty to chose from not just pizza all at good value, located right next to the hotel. The room was spacious and clean. Bus stop is right next to the building running every 10 minutes and takes less than 5 minutes to get to the main lift.

Review 82:The only minor complaint would be that the ski room was always untidy with cleaning equipment etc. and it was located at the front entrance so that the first thing to greet you was the smell of boots and shoes.

Review 83:The staff were very friendly and accomodating. The breakfast was plentiful. Whilst being a central location it was quiet in the room.

Review 84:The hotel buidling is different from what is shown on the website. Ourroom had no view other than the side street.

Review 85:Hotel manager was very helpful. The room was clean.

Review 86:Booking.com states guests at the Jakober can use the sauna in a nearbyhotel- this is not true. I asked everywhere and only found one hotel inthe village who would let us use their sauna for a fee and it was notvery near and they didnt allow children.

Review 87:The Jakober had an amazing location, right in the center of the village, next to the ski hire and bus stop. There was a room for ski equipmentwith heated boot rack and a place to dry gloves and clothes in our room.We had a two-room suite, it was a good size and very clean with abalcony all the way around and wonderful views of the village andmountains. The breakfast was excellent with fresh pastries andcroissants every day. The staff were all helpful and friendly, therestaurant was traditional and cosy and did us a fabulous fondue onenight. Overall it was brilliant value for the five of us and I would nothesitate to recommend the Jakober.

Review 88:Some road traffic noise but not too bad but probably depends on which side of hotel you are on.

Review 89:Room were spacious and exceptionally clean. Towels changed daily without being asked. Bathroom excellent especially shower - loads of hot water. Breakfast was brilliant - loads to choose from and staff very friendly.

Review 90:No bath, small ski room.

Review 91:Good sized and very clean and modern triple room, varied eating options and menu, excellent breakfast room. Very attentive waitresses. Lively bar area, but not intrusive on the quiet in the rest of the accommodation.

Review 92:Clean rooms, good breakfast, beautiful location

Review 93:The fondue was amazing - need to order it 3 hours early.

Review 94:Perfect location in the centre of Alpbach, good sized rooms and very comfortable beds in the new annex

Review 95:Can be a bit noisy outside later at night due to central location

Review 96:Friendly,central location, good restaurant

Review 97:Centre of village friendly staff lovely rooms nice breakfast

Review 98:Pertect for what we needed, great location and great value.

Review 99:Can be very noisy. Next time we would prefer a room away from the main road and pizza restaurant.

Review 100:Great location, lovely room and very helpful staff.

Review 101:Location is very central - excellent buffet breakfast and good restaurant offering wide variety of good food.

Review 102:Great location nice breakfast lovely rooms
