Reviews for Hotel Tximista
Review 1:Noise from the wedding.
Review 2:Staff very friendly and helpful. There was a wedding the first night and it was very noisy until 3:30 am. Since we were on the Camino, we were there to sleep. The location on the river was great and beds very comfortable. Internet worked well.
Review 3:We did not expect & did not like the open plan bathroom area in the main room, complete with huge mirror to give even less privacy. Also lighting could only be candle dim or searchlight bright! Somebody's brilliant idea of design.
Review 4:It was convenient location for driving with free parking& also walking into town.
Review 5:Dinners in the hotel's gourmet restaurant were outstanding! The food is simply exquisite - beautifully prepared and presented - and totally delicious.
Review 6:Nothing to complain about.
Review 7:Modern hotel with large suites, wifi worked well, good off street parking, very friendly helpful staff, quite room overlooking the river and with a very good restaurant.
Review 8:It was a bit off the Camino route but it was well worth the taxi drive from town!
Review 9:It was wonderful to find such a modern place but which had incorporated the old flour mill into the rooms.
Review 10:Restaurant was a little on the expensive side but food was delicious.
Review 11:Modern, quiet hotel with beautiful architecture and grounds. Great for relaxation. Really friendly staff. A little of the beaten track if walking the Camino.
Review 12:Parking a little difficult.
Review 13:Very nice and quiet place. A converted old mill, with relaxed atmosphere and friendly staff...the room was very spacious with excellent facilities.
Review 14:No meals of any kind offered on Sunday evening. Had to leave the hotel to find anything to eat. It was very incovenient since the hotel is on the outskirts of town. Shower leaked into toilet room.
Review 15:Esperanza, at reception, was super. She helped us in every way possible and was extremely friendly.
Review 16:We didn't stay to sample the restaurant cuisine. The basement location had hardly any windows, felt claustrophic as a result and no-one was there,so no atmosphere.Very pleasant waiter showed us the menu but there was incredibly loud music blaring which put us off.It is in the Michelin Guide but we weren't persuaded to spend an evening there.
Review 17:Lovely,helpful,welcoming receptionist.Garden by the river with seats and loungers.Very clean and quiet room.
Review 18:I did NOT like the long walk from the Camino route to get to it- did'nt like the atmosphere in dining room - so we ate at the bar ( Spanish omlette) which was Not good - we told the staff& were Not charged for same--
Review 19:It was a wonderful 16 hrs away from Camino - we So enjoyed the wonderful shower ( although a bath would have being better!!) the sound of running water from nearby river relaxed our mind & soul! Breakfast was good. The staff at reception were very helpfull & pleasant.
Review 20:Our only quibble was that our stay was over the weekend and the restaurant was closed Sunday night.
Review 21:The hotel was just out of the town and its exterior was not particularly appealing but once inside we were very impressed. The service was excellent ,the rooms simple but comfortable, and we found the food in the underground restaurant to be exceptional both in quality and value. We enjoyed our stay immensely.
Review 22:The hotel was very far from the camino - 3k or more - not its fault, but just a warning to other camino travelers. I think the hotel is trying too hard to be modern--the sharp minimalist decoration was not designed for comfort. The wifi did not work in the rooms. When we arrived, we discovered that there was only one staff member at the hotel providing service at the bar, front desk and laundry. The hotel needs to provide more staff for guest services. As part of the camino, we asked the hotel to send one of our bags via a transport service, but apparently they forgot, and we had to make arrangements with the transport service for the next day. Location is pretty on the river, but you are far away from other businesses/restaurants, making it inconvenient. Altogether disappointing, for too much money.
Review 23:The hotel clerk, Esperanza, tried very hard to provide whatever we needed, but there was only one of her. The dinner in the restaurant (chef Jose) was excellent and breakfast was good too.
Review 24:Nothing
Review 25:The room was large, the bathroom functional, very clean. We were greeted by a very helpful receptionist (Señora Motse) who assisted us with the forwarding of our luggage (we were Camino pilgrims) and the following morning with taxi booking and directions. The garden is spectacular, with easy chairs to enjoy a drink by the riverside. The hotel is interesting also for its unique modern design and although not close to the Camino route, well worth the taxi ride. The restaurant was excellent.
Review 26:Everything was good.
Review 27:I loved the riverside location. We enjoyed sitting in the comfy garden chairs watching the bird life on the river. Beautifully designed modern rooms and lots of very attractive and comfortable communal places to sit.
Review 28:I personally was not a fan of the shower being part of main room.
Review 29:Hotel was modern and clean however it was a reasonable walk Into centre of town and eateries.
Review 30:One of the best hotels during my Camino de Santiago. The room is really big with all amenities you could want. The restaurant is amazing.
Review 31:Beautiful room in a lovley old mill by a river.
Review 32:We liked the spacious rooms and the garden.
Review 33:Wifi not working
Review 34:too far from estella centre. restaurant is not managed by same company as the hotel so could not access menus from hotel bar
Review 35:restaurant and free wi fi
Review 36:No breakfast before 10am . Restuarant closed
Review 37:Modern style in renovated building . Clean. Good value. Close to town centre with good restaurants
Review 38:Location and comfort
Review 39:So convenient to the Camino. A nice break from hostels.
Review 40:nand clean practical hotel
Review 41:No wifi in room. Room were office like and not very comfortable
Review 42:Exterior looked a bit unpromising
Review 43:Interior of hotel - converted mill, octagonal room and riverside location
Review 44:Very friendly welcome. Lovely rooms, very comfortable.
Review 45:Strange glass entrance.
Review 46:Modern room almost a suite light and airy.
Review 47:What a great stay with wonderful front desk staff!
Review 48:The staff were very helpfull and warm
Review 49:Traveling with 5 friends. Fabulous hotel. Converted mill, lovely grounds, great rooms, quite, 5 minute walk from the centre of the town. Great value
Review 50:The restaurant was closed for the day when we arrived extremely tired and hungry. We could not even get a cup of coffee. We were told to go up the road three minutes to a restaurant but this was also closed. Appalling service!!
Review 51:Decor was edging on cold as it was too modern and not homely. 10% charge not included until we were paying our bill. Staff were dour and not interested. Location too far from camino.
Review 52:The food was fabulous and the outdoor terrace and garden were relaxing. Breakfast was very good.
Review 53:Great room layouts incorporating old mill equipment. Beautiful and peaceful lawn overlooking river - had a delightful afternoon relaxing on the lawn.
Review 54:I thought it was not good value for money- it was far out of town and breakfast was expensive. Hotel was v noisy - my husband had to get up after midnight to complain bout noise. I would not recommend hotel
Review 55:Bleak dining room Indifferent food No hot water first morning Shower head could not be fixed to holder Big gap between shower door and glass panel which caused a flood into the lavatory and basin area. Telephone not working properly: I could not hear the receptionist when I called. For a 4star hotel I am used to finding tissues, face cloths, bath robes. Room was bleak - no pictures or anything to soften it up. Maybe in Spain the star classification is different to France or the UK but this hotel does not warrant more than three stars.
Review 56:Location by the river Staff Comfortable bed
Review 57:My friend and I were hiking the Camino and this hotel is about a mileoff the trail. We were not psyched to add a mile to our walk on eachend but it was totally worth it. Such a lovely place. Only otherdownside is the open bathroom - toilet has a door but sink and glass-walled shower did not, so no privacy whatsoever when showering. Westill loved this place.
Review 58:We loved this Hotel. Staff seemed small but very friendly. Our room wasspotless and had a great view of the back garden (lawn with chairs and aview of the river) - extremely quiet, clean and comfortable.
Review 59:As we were walking the Camino , the extra little walk out of the towncenter . But I will know next time :)
Review 60:Superb hotel.luxury with excellent staff and great value. A family ofthree paid less than two hundred euros for top quality conditions. InAustralia you would have to pay three times that.
Review 61:The decor, design and ambience resulted in a soulless hotel - the redand black theme was not restful or welcoming. It seemed as if design hadtaken precedence over comfort. The bar area felt and looked like a barnand was so dimly lit as to be almost dark. No comfortable seating in thebar and staff, except for one person, were dour and unsmiling. My son's towel rail was dirty and obviously had not been cleaned for a while.
