Reviews for Das Schwanstein

Review 1:All surrounding guesthouses looked cosy and inviting but this one looked shut and unoccupied. Wi-fi only worked in reception which is annoying when relying on it to book each nights accommodation when travelling around. Security light kept coming on at night and as the curtains were thin it kept waking us.

Review 2:Location near to the castles

Review 3:Wifi hardly worked in our room. Requested for an extra bed as a special request about a week before we were due to arrive but didn't get a response from the hotel. Had us worried till we got there, (it was arranged, for some costs, of course)

Review 4:Comfortable rooms, not too far from Neuschwanstein, car park available, breakfast was good comparatively.

Review 5:Old bedroom. Toilet sink has cracked. Door frame wood eaten by termites or insects. Place don't looks like it is well maintained. Expensive price for the hotel room

Review 6:Good wifi n breakfast

Review 7:The furniture in the rooms is a bit old..

Review 8:Nice hotel, very good location. Castle is visible from some rooms. There is a bavarian cheese shop right beside the hotel. Bike rental 300m, ideal location. Staff is very friendly.

Review 9:Nothing

Review 10:The setting and area around the hotel was very good and the restaurant up the road was excellent the staff and owner couldn't do enough to help

Review 11:1980’s décor No kettle, no fridge, no hair drier, no hangers, no style, no home comforts. Uncomfortable beds, cracked wash basin and a tiny bath. Go to bed, and the light switch (on the headboard) turns on an off every time you move your pillow. A locked cupboard, in the corner of the room, with a mural of a monk with an axe in his head scared my daughter. Wi-Fi In the main building is okay, but for our room, we had to sit in the corridor to get reception. Worth 130 Euro…. No! Should have chosen somewhere 20km away, which is easy commuting distance without the tourist tax.

Review 12:Friendly staff, good location

Review 13:everything in the room was tired and a bit shabby. there were better standards of hotels in the area charging the same amount.

Review 14:it was clean and staff were helpful. breakfast was reasonable. the location was excellent but a shame a tree blocked the view of the castle from the outdoor seating area.

Review 15:My room was located on the side of the building, with the slanted roof dangerously low above the bed (I am a small girl and hit my head on the roof when I was getting in/out of bed). It was impossible to stand up straight in the shower due to the low roof. The bathroom had large areas of mould in it. The legs of the two chairs in the room were broken and held together with masking tape. The Wifi dropped out every five minutes. I have been traveling for 4 months, primarily in hostels, and all have been in a better condition than this room.

Review 16:Breakfast was a nice buffet, and the location was convenient for getting to the castles.

Review 17:Double bed was 2 singles pushed together with a wooden slat down themiddle which was very uncomfortable for a couple! Very thin walls, I gotwoken up by our neighbours alarm in the morning and couldn't sleepuntil they had stopped talking Expensive for what you get

Review 18:Wifi Breakfast

Review 19:Mattress was soft, not our preference. No fridge or kettle provided or other freebies though. WIFI was largely alright, although there were irritating periods of disruptions, but was fast.

Review 20:Hotel is at the main junction of ths small town Schwangau (the main town in the region is Fussen). Courteous helpful receptionist to attend to our questions. Given a very large rooom at a corner. Sound-proofing not a very big problem as the walls were solid. Room was clean generally. Heating was available as the weather was cold (unlike other hotels which do not provide heating in summer) in this atypical summer. Breakfast was excellent. Pastries and bread came straight from the kitchen, grilled sausages, scrabbled eggs were served. The croissant was superb and fresh and crispy.

Review 21:Way too expensive for what we got. The room was hot, no airconditioning, broken sink small room, no fridge, plus an unfriendly note which told guests that they would be charged if something happened to the setting of the TV, but no explanation was given which of the 2 remote controlls to use!! Breakfast was very simple. We expected more for 105 Eur.

Review 68:Nothingness

Review 69:We like the rooms' furnishing and cleanliness and the dining room is also beautifully furnished. There is nothing to complain. We can't understand the relatively negative reviews, what do these reviewers want? freebies? We're very happy with this hotel and would recommend it to anyone.Of course the hotel can improve it further by providing hair dryer and fridge in every room. We'd rate it 7.2 amongst those hotels in the €75-€100/- range.
