Reviews for Hotel Mercedes
Review 1:Hotel very drab and basic on a noisy road. Room very hot and airless.
Review 2:The town of Aranjuez is very nice, we found a lively tapas bar. Room size good, clean with. good shower.
Review 3:Unfortunately, a group of teenage children were there on our 2nd night resulting in us still being awake at 2am in the morning with all the running around above our room. However, this was probably a one-off but it would have been nice if the staff had tried to quieten them down.
Review 4:Everyone was so helpful and friendly. The room was excellent and very comfortable.
Review 5:The breakfast definitely isn't worth buying. The whole hotel seems vast and empty, last time I stayed at the Hostal Real which is not only much better and has a good basic cafe where you can sit on the street or inside, but it's cheaper too. And it's in a better position. I'll stay at the Hostal Real next time.
Review 6:Good parking right outside the hotel
Review 7:The air conditioning was not very effective and the continental breakfast selection was set out on a table on cling film covered plates.
Review 8:Very friendly staff and spotlessly clean in a beautiful location.
Review 9:We thought the breakfast was very poor considering the overnight cost, ham hard on the corners as was the cheese. I would score the breakfast 2 from 10
Review 10:Overall the hotel was very good, evening meal was good value and the waiter service was excellent
Review 11:Good location within short walking distance of the Royal Palace and shops, bars, restaurants in the town. The hotel also offers very good reasonably priced meals from set menu's to Ala Carte.
Review 12:Nothing
Review 13:The member of staff on reception, who also served us dinner and breakfast, was delightful. Nice to walk the dog along the river in the morning.
Review 14:The location is great, within easy walking distance ot the Palace and the town centre with all the restaurants and bars. There is also plenty of parking, which is free.
Review 15:Spotlessly clean. Very comfortable beds. Well equipped bathroom with bath and separate shower. Calm environment within walking distance of town. Made to feel welcome.
Review 16:No bad experience - but the water trap in the bathroom leaked over the floor when the bath water was running away. A small maintenance job.
Review 17:A warm welcome from reception and the cleanliness of the hotel. Although a central location it was very quiet.
Review 18:Excellent place to stop on our way from the Costa del Sol to Bilbao Ferry. Free Parking and close to the town with all its historic palaces. Very helpful receptionist.
Review 19:Lots of bars suitable for young people but not many restaurants. The few there were were not open until 9pm. Suitable for Spaniards who eat late but not for visitors.
Review 20:Aranquez was a very dirty town
Review 21:Nothing.
Review 22:This was our second stay at the Hotel Mercedes and we will continue to stay here en route between UK and Andalucia because it is perfect for our needs. The rooms are spacious for a city hotel (much bigger than another we stayed in) and even the bathroom was huge. Everything was spotless and the welcome to our pets was lovely.
Review 23:This hotel is a great place to stay if you are driving from South to North of Spain. Itis on a major route and in an interesting place. Free on site parking is a bonus too.
Review 24:The man on the desk when we arrived and who served us at breakfast the next day never smiled once and was perfunctory, almost mono syllabic when speaking to us. Seemed to be from the Basil Fawlty school of hospitality !
Review 25:The food in the restaurant on the evening we stayed was good. The waiter was very friendly and attentive (but we were the only ones in.....). The hotel has very nice pubic areas upstairs. Although our confirmation said only wired internet in public areas there was in fact wi fi which was fine in our room. Our room was a good size and nice but some very bad attempts at 'repair' of the sealant in the bathroom spoiled the otherwise good decoration in there.
Review 26:Time for water to run hot in shower and pressure was low. Beds were very firm
Review 27:Easy to find opposite Shell garage traveling South from Madrid, with parking for 20 cars (more at rear on road TO Madrid). Very helpful at reception providing map and info about visits (and how to get out of the town!). Short walk to Palace, Gardens, Tourist Office, Cafes and Restaurants. Breakfast was acceptable but not exceptional.
Review 28:On two of our three mornings the shower water was rather lukewarm and the hair dryer did not work.
Review 29:This modern hotel is very well situated in an oasis of greenery, between two main roads, very near to the beautiful royal palace in Aranjuez and 20 minutes walk from the station with frequent trains into the centre of Madrid, an ideal way to visit the capital, a journey of about 40 minutes. We got a warm welcome on arrival and the hotel staff were very helpful with maps and information for sight seeing in both Aranjuez and Madrid. Very clean rooms and a good breakfast.
Review 30:Didn't have breakfast as it looked pretty basic
Review 31:No charge for dogs or parking. Let them know in advance you have a dog so they can allocate a room with wooden floor rather than one with carpet. Friendly staff, restaurant for dinner but plenty restaurants in the area. Walks along river close by. Spacious, clean room.
Review 32:The Hotel was a little old fashioned by some Hotel standards but really it had everything you needed so nothing to complain about.
Review 33:The location was good just a few minutes from the Palace. Although on a busy road well glazed so we did not hear traffic. The receptionist was so helpfull. Told us the Palace was free at 5pm also wanted to go to Madrid next day so told us how to catch the train and even printed a timetable from the internet. Set menu was good and wine very reasonable. Waiter in the evening was very friendly. The internet was free and out of the 3 Hotels I stayed at enroute the only where I could actually connect to it. Plenty of free secure parking. I would say stay here its well priced for a pleasant stopover.
Review 34:a little out the village life zone breakfast was modest
Review 35:Quiet, out of the village life zone Great staff, extremely helpful Walking distance to the main attraction
Review 36:Crikey it is hot outside in summer!
Review 37:Very friendly, helpful staff. Very dog friendly. Effective air conditioning. Swimming pool and shaded garden. Well located close to the sights. Very pleasant town.
Review 38:Just a tad tired. Hairdyers in rooms not working. But cleanliness and location and staff more than made up for this. We would use this hotel again in a heartbeat.
Review 39:Location - very easy to get to and also easy parking (great after a stressful drive from Madrid centre!). Very friendly and helpful staff. Very clean. Short walk to beautiful town centre and monuments. Outdoor pool. Wifi.

Review 90:What did we like? Everything, otherwise we wouldn't keep returning each year. Location, parking, dog friendly, quiet, peaceful nights sleep. Everything about this hotel works in a very quiet understated efficient way. Please note: they have a lift.
Review 91:The road works in Aranjuez, but that wasn't the fault of the hotel!
Review 92:The location was very good. We took our dog who was warmly welcomed. The room was spacious and spotlessly clean. We would stay there again.
Review 93:nothing to dislike.
Review 94:In a good location close to the town and the royal palace. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Free on site parking and good breakfast. the room was large comfortable and clean with a big bathroom..
Review 95:Its not so much what I didn't like as a suggestion! There was no information in the room about breakfast times or dinner times. That would have been helpful.
Review 96:The staff were very friendly, especially the waiter in the restaurant in the evening. Jose, made our meal time very enjoyable, thank you! The room was comfort and very clean and a very nice surprise was the free Wi-Fi, fantastic! Definitely recommend this to hotel to anyone!
Review 97:Although bath provided there was only shower hose to fill it. This would have meant standing over the bath waiting for ages. Water not hot enough anyway. No bar.
Review 98:Staff very friendly & helpful.
Review 99:Hard uncomfortable beds. No paperwork in the dormatorio - hotel details. No tea /coffee making equipement. Air conditioning very noisy - we had to switch it off and ask for a portable radiator.
Review 100:The location.
Review 101:Parking on-site. Rooms were were comfortable and clean including the bathroom. At night there was no bar service, but the receptionist served us wine on the terrace which was very welcome. Self service breakfast was good value. Ideal if you are breaking a journey going from the north coast to the south coast.
Review 102:Stayed one night only. Hotel seemed a bit tired looking but was clean and comfortable. Excellent location for a short walk to the river, restaurants and bars. Nice dinner and basic breakfast.
Review 103:Soundproofing of walls between rooms is not the best, we did not experience any problem but could be unlucky - but hotel is excellent and would stay again
Review 104:Delightful hotel with an old world charm but all mod.cons. and very nice and helpful staff Great location - easy walk into town which is full of interest and grandeur. Parking on site and good breakfast. Ate in town in evening but facilities at hotel and looked nice as tables set outside and had we stayed second night would have tried the food there. All in a great hotel wellplaced for overnight or as base for Aranjuez and with buses and train into Madrid
Review 105:location for easy walking to small town which deserved a two night stay for wandering the palace, gardens and river, and wide variety of bars/restaurant. good stop over when heading south.
Review 106:Although the bathroom was large, the doors of the impressive looking shower cubicle would not close thus making it unusable.

Review 110:This was our second stay at this hotel and we really went back toretrieve my husband's jacket that he left the first time! As soon asI checked in I was handed his jacket in a plastic bag even though nearly6 months had passed. Very friendly staff and a good location from whichto walk into the town and view the castle. Plenty of eating places inthe town which is much larger than you think. Secure car parking at thehotel and an adequate buffet breakfast. A good place to rest on the tripfrom the Costa del Sol to Santander.
