Reviews for Hotel Rübezahl

Review 1:A very luxurious hotel that may be expensive but it's worth every pfennig. The included spa/sauna is amazing and makes for a very relaxing stay. I'm not too used to spa hotels but this one seemed incredibly well appointed and had all the amenities one could ask for. The breakfast is really something to write home about as it is far more sumptuous than the normal German breakfast with hot dishes of pancakes and sausages as well as champagne to mix with the fresh fruit juice. The location is also amazing with views out some window to the Bavarian royal castles of Hohenschwangau and Neuschwanstein. Easy access to the charming small city of Füssen is also great as there's plenty to do there too.

Review 2:Amazing property, hotel and staff! Offered us a glass of wine upon check-in. The room was so wonderful, comfortable, and room service was perfection. Got the local specialty platter, my husband and I enjoyed it from our room with our amazing view of Neuschwanstein Castle. We also enjoyed our "water tap" from the mountain in our room with mineral rocks. The breakfast was incredible. So sad we only stayed here one night, and will definitely be coming back to take advantage of the spa.

Review 3:Could not accommodate us in the restaurant on evening of arrival.

Review 4:Superb location- great for walks, cycling and visiting the castles. Balcony room great views.

Review 5:This hotel is amazing. I wish we would have booked for two nights, rather than one! The view from the hotel is beautiful and you can see the castles off in the distance. Dinner and breakfast were delicious.

Review 6:Only one small issue - no coffee or tea making facilities in room but minor detail otherwise nothing bad to say about anything to do with our trip to Bavaria & stay at Rubezahl !

Review 7:Loved the view - stunning - we were in junior suite Maximillian ! The location is perfect. Loved the bar staff Josef and Chris are a credit to the hotel - enjoyed the banter and the cocktails were top notch ! The food is outstanding not just best in Bavaria best we have had anywhere - had lovely waitress who helped make evening special for husbands 50th birthday - cant remember enjoying staying somewhere as much as this ! cant wait to return - perfect from start to finish ! Breakfast is amazing so much choice and all excellent - sorry didnt get to use pool but facilities are second to none. Can not praise or thank everyone at Rubezahl enough for making it a truely special and memorable occasion. Thank you all.

Review 8:Unfortunately we had a room overlooking the car park (with lighting) so we had to have the blinds closed all night. The restaurant and staff were very good but we felt crammed in and not very comfortable.

Review 9:The hotel is lovely and the staff were extremely helpful.

Review 10:The breakfast was wonderful...best pancakes ever. The staff were fabulous..welcoming and efficient and very friendly. View from our room was stunning, and the room, although small, was so cosy, comfortable and beautifully designed.. We loved it...so much so that we are planning a return visit hopefully next year.

Review 11:Maybe I'm just not a fan of German cuisine, but the restaurant (which is highly rated) didn't really impress me all that much. Although there probably aren't any better choices in the area.

Review 12:Excellent location, rooms, and facilities.

Review 13:Location! It is 20 mins walking or 5 mins driving from Fussen. We got a room with a view of the castles, and hiked to the castles and back, and it is very close by car. Breakfast is freshly backed, cooked and plenty of variety, superb! The suite we had was very comfortable and spacious.

Review 14:Not happy with the staff. They didnt worn us that you have to book the castle tickets 36h in advance. So we had to find a way to visit the castle by our self. Which was the reason we went there in the first place. They were not really interested to help either.

Review 15:Great little hotel

Review 16:Absolutely nothing!

Review 17:We stayed in a spacious junior suite at the Rubezahl which had a view of the castles! The hotel and our room was spotlessly clean. Our daughter loved the pool! The wifi and parking are excellent. The choice at breakfast was fantastic, our daughter particularly liked the waffles. The staff were very friendly, Rene in the restaurant was a pleasure. The location was fantastic with the castles and Fussen so close. We used our tourist cards and got a free ski lift up Breitenberg Bahn Pfronten, and reduced prices at other locations - The childrens summer toboggan rides are good fun. We found a great asian restaurant in Fussen, 'Asia Garten' in the main high street area, excellent chinese/thai/asian food.

Review 18:Hotel, food, wellness all perfectly fine and nothing to complain. Excellent location and helpful staff. Many other tourists as well - so the staff can sometimes be a little too straight forward, too direct - it's part of the local cultur. But after a few minutes everyone warms up and gets very friendly.

Review 19:The dinner took much time as the kitchen/service was slow. The staff overall was not extremely customer oriented.

Review 20:Nice and warm small hotel. Excellent spa and comfortable lobby. Modern room.

Review 21:Spa closes waaaay too early- 21:00 in summer... Were there for 3 days and did not get even once to the pool. I suggest considering finishing later at least in summer months.

Review 22:Location is excellent, breakfast great, bed very comfortable. Good signage to find the property from the road. Helpful staff(ask them to get you tickets to the Schloss).

Review 23:Separate comforters

Review 24:From the champagne at the arrival to the warm pool after a long day of walking, all was appreciated. The nice note on our wedding anniversary was also a charming touch. Thank you!!!

Review 25:The room was beautiful, staff very helpful and friendly, excellent food and amenities, including a spa and pool, not to mention the incredible views of the castles!

Review 26:The hotel room was cosy, comfortable, very well equipped, plenty of little details to make the stay wonderful - the view form the balcony of the two castles is outstanding.

Review 27:No tea and coffee making facilities n the room.

Review 28:Beautiful hotel with fantastic service from all the staff and great views.

Review 29:Very nice hotel, comfortable room, fantastic dinner, enjoyable staying there.

Review 30:Staff doesn't speak English and not so friendly

Review 31:Beautiful place! Spa, location, food, excellent location to ride bike

Review 32:Excellent location and view.

Review 33:Amazing location and staff

Review 34:Very nice location and view

Review 35:Nothing!

Review 36:The view from the balcony! Worth every penny!

Review 37:Extra bed is not comfortable at all.

Review 38:The view is good and breakfast is fantastic.

Review 39:Nothing

Review 40:Everything is first rate with great attention to detail.

Review 41:There was nothing not to like about this hotel.

Review 42:The view, the menu, the staff... Perfect hotel with a lot going for it. Will definitely be returning.

Review 43:The staff were all very welcoming and helpful. Bicycles are available free of charge.

Review 44:The friendly staff. The warm arrangement (chocolates on our bed and a bottle of champagne to celebrate our wedding) The cozy environment.

Review 45:The hotel is actually a small nice hotel but in no means give you the feeling of a 4 star. Very small garden very small pool area. Has a very nice spa but is closed in the mornings and in evenings, so only open when you are supposed to be out for all the attractions. They don't except check-in after 10 pm which is ridiculous, they don't except check- out later than 11am, which is extremely early, and they have no exceptions. So it would be great if you pay around 100 euros, it's not worth anything above 150. This is not in any means a luxury hotel.

Review 46:We had a junior suite with mountain and castle view, it was very nice, clean and spacious. Breakfast had lots of varieties and was very good. The location is very good being very close to all the attractions and also being far enough to give a good view of the mountains and the two castles.

Review 47:With Euro conversion, very expensive for a view over a field of cows andthe construction happening next door this summer.

Review 48:Amazing breakfast buffet and lovely view of the Neuschwanstein Castle.

Review 49:Nothing much really.

Review 50:Location, facilities, very helpful and friendly staff throughout. We visited as part of a 25th Wedding Anniversary trip, and there were a few nice extra touches provided that made the occasion special. Food in the restaurant was magnificent.

Review 51:Everything is amazing in Schwangau and Füssen. The hotel is a delicious surprise. Comfortable, familiar, cosy. The wellness center is very very good. Restaurante with criative cuisine. Breakfast is excelent. The staff is one of the greatest points.

Review 52:The standard room was very small. There was really no place to sit, and no place to put our suitcases. If you can afford it, get a suite.

Review 53:The spa facilities were excellent. The restaurant was very good. We had two very good dinners there. The location was good for visiting the castles.

Review 54:Restaurant kitchen closed already before 9.30 on day of arrival; restaurant shouldn't take bookings for breakfast tables as this doesn't allow other guests to enjoy the views

Review 55:Staff enormously friendly and making our stay a real pleasure. Deluxe room very well designed and fun to be in. Small but great indoor/outdoor swimming pool. Fantastic Guest Card covering the whole area (beyond Schwangau) offering lots of interesting services which is truly remarkable.

Review 56:No aircon or fans in the rooms/or hotel this made things uncomfortable.

Review 57:I liked the location of the hotel. The food and the hotel staff were amazing.

Review 58:It was nice weather after breakfast, so we spent some time at the pool, but we found at that there were too few sun beds.

Review 59:the dinner was excellent, breakfast as well. Receiving a glass of wine when arriving and sitting down and relaxing was really enjoyable. Loaning bikes was also nice, you don't want to go by car all the time.

Review 60:The prices in the restaurant are too high in comparison to the restaurants in the neighborhoods, where the quality of food is good too.

Review 61:THe staff was very caring and friendly, breakfast with good varity and tasteful, the wellness facility very nice.

Review 62:Generally it was OK, nothing to mention specially. Location is good, real countryside. Buffet eating purchasing is not recommended, since a-la carte menu is much better and cost the same.

Review 63:Our room had a beautiful views of the 2 castles, and decent size for 2 adults and 2 kids. They kindly accomodated our 2 kids (7 and 10 years old) for a 20Euros fee per day. Overall hotal is gorgeous and staff very friendly. We went for a swim in the pool late one afternoon and it felt like paradise. I would love to go back.

Review 64:The hotel is very nice. We had a junior suite which provided a lot of room and a balcony with views of the castles. It was our wedding anniversary and we requested a special meal which the hotel served up for us and it was very enjoyable. I would recommend this hotel for a few nights. There are some nice bike rides in the area. It is a little walk into Schwangau - about 20 mins. The choice of places to eat there is a little limited we only found three places all of them Italian. Nice quiet place to stay though. Hotel provides free bikes.

Review 65:I have been appreciative of the geographical situation of this hotel, well situated in the country side to visit, then, the castles around it. Best regards

Review 66:There is nothing negative I can say about Hotel Ruebezahl. Loved the Sauna's... they are spacious.

Review 67:We are assigned to worse seat for breakfast only because we are not half board quest.

Review 68:They have very good spa, the best we've ever had.

Review 69:Great location and facility! Very pleased we selected this hotel.

Review 70:Should be better value for money re: spa services.

Review 71:Beautiful rooms and grounds, great food.

Review 72:Excellent friendly hotel, super food great location.

Review 73:Nothing to mention, simply perfect in all aspects.
