Reviews for Villa Margaretha
Review 1:This is suppose to be an old fashion decoration but is, in fact, only immitations very kitch. The entrance of our building had a very unwelcoming smell. Wifi doesn t work in the rooms. Breakfast is in a sad room, with no window. The bed is the most unconfortable bed I slept in.
Review 2:the team is nice
Review 3:None
Review 4:Beautifully decorated in period style with particular attention to detail. Spotlessly clean and neat, very friendly and helpful at reception. Ant visit to Estonia must include a visit to charming Tartuffe.
Review 5:Unfortunately the breakfast was cold, but good instead. There was quite many visitors and one staff member was too few.
Review 6:Staff was very friendly and helpful. We got upgraded room and as this was our wedding weekend, it was very good suprise. We liked the history of the house and the quality was very high as well. Food was good.
Review 7:The wifi didn't work in our room, but that wasn't a big deal for us. It worked in the main building.
Review 8:Lovely and unusual building about ten minutes walk into centre. Our room was split level, so we had a 'lounge' (not a real kitchen) downstairs and bedroom upstairs. It was quite spacious. The area was peaceful as well. Pleasant stay overall.
Review 9:Breakfast was a joke, no coffee, no juice. Had to go to ask for it. In 5 minutes it was gone again. Horrible service.
Review 10:Very nicely renovated wooden building.
Review 11:No bad comments. House is old but cosy.
Review 12:Friendly and helpful service. Good breakfast. No probleem with car parking. Nice and clean rooms. Comfortable beds. Sõbralik ja vastutulelik teenindus. Hea hommikusöök. Auto parkimise võimalus hoovis. Ilusad puhtad toad. Mugavad voodid.
Review 13:Rooms are placed in sections with their own entrances, like in apartment buildings. To visit restaurant and reception we had also to go out fully dressed (not very convenient in winter)
Review 14:The personnel was very user-friendly. Convenient parking just near hotel. Very good breakfasts and good food in restaurant. Warm floor in bathrooms!!
Review 15:The only problem in our room was the bathroom floor. Needs redesigning.
Review 16:Everything felt just right. Staff very friendly and not posh. Tastefully kitschy place.
Review 17:Room lighting was a bit poor. There was one quite small window and no view from the window.
Review 18:Friendly staff, good breakfast, soft and spacious bed, fairly good location, free parking.
Review 19:Due to old architechture, is not suitable for movement restrected persons.
Review 20:I liked everything, becouse I like old and small hotels, when they are well renovated.
Review 21:Beautiful old wooden building. Not boring like most hotels. Nice and peacefull athmosphere. Simple but delicious breakfast with some estonian specialities. Friendly staff. Nice location.
Review 22:The breakfast could be a bit more diverse.
Review 23:The art nouveau style might seem a bit kitsch to some, but we liked it. We had a good night sleep in comfy beds.
Review 24:The room on the ground floor is a bit darker than the one upstairs, so if you have a choice - choose the higher room.
Review 25:The building, the room, the stuff - everything were the way we expected! And we expected a lot. Charming art-nouveau villa looked like it was magically moved to modern city from the beginning of the last century! The de Lux room is spacious and equipped with with the authentic (at least it looked like one) furniture! The front-desk ladies are all nice and attentive! We also liked the breakfast and the breakfast-room.
Review 26:Staff didn't ask us anything like how was our stay when we were checking out. They didn't either wished us welcome when checking in.
Review 27:Lovely old building, comfortable beds, beautiful furniture. The breakfast was ok.

Review 33:There wasn't a hand shower in the toilet at all and fitted carpet is not this days.
Review 34:Quiet and good location. Free parking in the courtyard.
Review 35:Good breakfast, 7-8m to city center
Review 36:Thin walls A bit of walk to city center Mould in breakfast bread
Review 37:Peacefull Nice place
Review 38:No bad experiences.
Review 39:Good location in the city. And yet quiet place.
Review 40:Parim hommikusöök ja ilus avar tuba :) super!
Review 41:All was very exelent.
Review 42:WLAN did work for 4 days in room no 4 without any problems
Review 43:Only 6 Channels on TV. No beer in the hotel mini bar
Review 44:very nice "ambiente".. excellent breakfast
Review 45:darkness in the room
Review 46:old interesting house
Review 47:We were hoping to get double bed, instead we had two single bed put together.
Review 48:lovely place, good breakfast and staff
Review 49:Nice apartment and staff
Review 50:The food was very good. Nice location.
Review 51:Could be better breakfast
Review 52:Nicely located hotel little bit outside old town, but still close to historical center attractions
Review 53:Heating wasnt able to be used
Review 54:Staff were very obliging to all requests Lovely rooms Great food at the hotel restaurant
Review 55:One car alarm made noise all night, we would have liked hotel staff to do something about it
Review 56:Breakfast was good, room was beautiful
Review 57:None really
Review 58:Friendly and efficient personnel, beautiful rooms and interesting authentic house.
Review 59:no air condition, poor breakfast
Review 60:location, car parking
Review 61:In a pleasant park, safe area but a good walk to old town. Seeming a bit long after dinner in town.Wifi difficult in room. Easily available in lobby or dining room.Signs detailing no smoking fire hazard..not comfortable for smokers or visitors with fear of that sort of thing. All remodeled for safety so did not bother us
Review 62:This is a charming bread and breakfast type hotel dating from the art nouveau era a hundred years ago. It's original wood structure and dining room complements the old sections of tartu wher we enjoyed walking, we stayed in the original section but beautiful new annex features secure parking lot. Staff in simple outfits of the era, helpful with nice breakfast in pleasant surroundings.,a unique experience restaurant available for evening dining we did not try.
Review 63:Bathroom floor gets very wet and slippery after you have a shower. Quite bad ventilation either...
Review 64:nice hotel.. very clean and tidy.. would highly recommend
Review 65:Strange to go out of a front door in rain to get to room. Also if you struggle with stairs and luggage could be a problem as no lift available
Review 66:Very nice room and helpful staff. Excellent to be able to park on site too. Restaurant offer and breakfast both very good.
Review 67:Facilities a bit out-dated, biggest issue is the thin wall which makes it noisy if you have a loud neighbour.
Review 68:Fair in general, a little bit further from the city centre though definitely walkable to most of the places in 10-15 minutes. Good breakfast.
Review 69:The shower curtain was too short and the water was splashing all over. The sink in the bathroom was just too small to wash face properly. The battery cover of the safety box was broken.
Review 70:Nice decoration, lovely details. Beautiful old wooden house. 10 minutes walk to the center. Good breakfast in a nice atmosphere.
Review 71:The owner has made a serious effort to furnish the whole hotel with authentic art nouveaux furniture. Also the wall papers and other decorations were very true to the era of 20's and 30's. Including the staff's costumes. Excellent restaurant and cafe! Good location, 10 minutes walk from the townhall square. Highly recommended place for those who value the art nouveaux/ aft deco era.
Review 72:Bit too far away from center (~15 minutes walk)
Review 73:Lodging in a separated building with our own exit to the street; having two floors; nice breakfast in a moody brick cellar. Neighbourhood was quiet in the night. Co-located restaurant was fairly priced; menu was simple but even staples had some twists.
Review 74:Wooden walls do not provide enough sound isolation, we could hear people talking next door. Choose your neighbors carefully ;)
Review 75:* Nicely restored wooden house from mid 1930s (?) * Spacious clean room, decent breakfast * Parking in the backyard
Review 76:I didn`t like that shampoo and body wash was as one unit. After showering all bathroom floor was wet. So if somebody needed to use bathroom after shower they legs would get wet.
Review 77:The styling and design.
Review 78:a hotel located near the centre of town and situated in a ancient house with an 19th century atmosphere. The rooms are comfortable, diner and breakfast are ok and the staff is helpful.
Review 79:Hotel personnel is very uneven. The receptionist on the first night was unpleasant: snooty and rude. Didn't make us feel welcome even slightest. The receptionist moved around with deliberate slowness and clenched her jaws and pursed her lips to show how annoyed she was that we bothered her late at night (plump figure, dark haired). The next day receptionist (blond lady) was very warm and accomodating. But that has always been my experience with Villa Margaretha - the service is very random.
Review 80:Very pleasant and authentic decor, nice neighbourhood (slightly off central city)
Review 81:No cleaning or bed making..... Even though we asked for it. Lucky we as we only stayed for two days
Review 82:The building and rrom were ver nice. Old building was remarkable. We were really impressed by the room.
Review 83:The room was too hot in the warm weather and the fan which was provided was not enough to make things much better, plus it was quite noisy. Could not sleep with open windows either, because the sporadic traffic was disruptive.
Review 84:The location is great and easy access to city centre and shopping. Loved the art nouveau decor. Room was large and spacious. Good value for money. Staff was very friendsly and dinner in the cafe was delicious.
Review 85:no air-condition, no tea/coffee maker (however room equipped with small kitchen-like room), separate entrances to different parts of the hotel (in the winter you need to dress well enough to go for braekfast)
Review 86:No elevator. You had to leave the reception area and enter another building - only a couple of steps away - to get to the building with our room.
Review 87:Good looking building in and out. Excellent breakfast. Very large room. Free parking
Review 88:Staff do not speak russian, not so good english, only estonian. May bethis hotel just for local tourists? No menu in Russian. Small tv mainlywith local programs. Fill like in the village, not like in theuniversity educated town.
Review 89:Breakfast good, free parking, nice place, not far from center.
Review 90:Too small bathrooms. Chilly during night.
Review 91:Seperate entries for suites which arewide 2-level apartments in a new building. Standart double rooms are very small but cosy. All connection rooms in a row (good for families)
Review 92:It is a bit uphill from town to hotel; no problem unless walking is difficult.
Review 93:Friendly staff, pleasant room, good breakfast. The hotel is in a fascinating old house with a lot of character and quirkiness, but the facilities are modern and comfortable. The town centre and bus station are about 10 minutes walk away.
Review 94:Charming people running it, and a charming art nouveau building. Very nice breakfast. Good food in the restaurant. Nice large room (I was in Helene).
Review 95:Bathroom needs fixing - toilet flashing was getting stuck, no protectionfrom shower water in bathroom, so floor is wet.
Review 96:Friendly personal, very quiet place, interesting design & history of theplace, free and fast WiFi, on-premises parking.
Review 97:The house and it's rooms are really beautiful. First I did not know it is an estonian monument! The staff is really friendly and the traditional old fashion 'uniform' of the women looks quite sexy ;) You can be sure to enjoy the stay in every room, it's really great! Oh, and go hungry to the breakfast...it's delicious!
Review 98:Something happened. One time light was switched off about one hour, next wi-fi connection disappeared. Shower is not comfortable, floor in bathroom was under water every time.
Review 99:Staff was very friendly. Common impression is good.
Review 100:I did not like a bath because of the lack of inner door. I mean in thebathroom there is not any glass door in order to keep water. When youtake a shower, the bathroom is full of water. And later going to visitwc it is not very pleasant to put your legs into the water.
Review 101:Hotel staff is very polite and friendly. The hotel is very smart andprice is not big. So, I will recommend it as a cosy and silent place tospent some days.
Review 102:Our beds were really comfortable, the staff was helpful and friendly. Location within walking distance to downtown. Our room was huge. I would stay here again.
Review 103:breakfast is a bit of a disappointment
Review 104:good restaurant, cozy and nicely set up, great food, nice staff, the accommodation is great, and very private, parking very convenient
Review 105:No water boiler. So it's impossible for you to make coffee or tea in the room. But you can get hot water from the reception.
Review 106:Large room with 3 beds which fits three of us perfectly. The building is very beautiful and special. It's said that this is a national monument.
Review 107:It was really nice that we could take our dog with us (20€/day). Place is really nice and everything worked perfectly!
Review 108:Beautiful historic house with a special character, quite close to City centre.
Review 109:was a bit chilly in the rooms, but with good help from staff we have solved it quickly
Review 110:Parking just in front of the window, diverse breakfast buffet
Review 111:good service very beautiful rooms
Review 112:Small room
Review 113:Good location
Review 114:Very good pillows and blankets, nice breakfast
Review 115:Nice small place just outside the town center. Breakfast was very good.
Review 116:Nice rooms , good size
Review 117:Empty soapbottles in the Bathroom during three nights stay. So bring your own..;)
Review 118:Great Location, Good price.
Review 119:Rooms could be cleaned better. You can hear noice from other rooms.
Review 120:Nice, well renovated buildings in a quiet area close to city centre.
Review 121:Great Breakfast and nice Staff.
Review 122:Romantic
Review 123:For 5 days they cleaned up floor in the room only 1 time!
Review 124:Location is very good. Very comfortable rooms. no noise. Food in restaurant is ok.
Review 125:In hotel like at home. Everything. :)
Review 126:As went to the breakfast quite late, there was not much food left...
