Reviews for DJH Jugendherberge Prora
Review 1:As the location had been isolated due to the history, activity was limited around the area. Prora was huge for walking. (suitable for biking) Otherwise you must check bus timetable.
Review 2:The free breakfast was nice, almost like a school canteen. (interesting to see all the families were having a big breakfast) A basin in the rooms were convenient though the common bathroom was clean and enough. As the newly refurbished building was originaly a Nazi resort building, can be seen the trace from the long corridor. Located just in front of beach.
Review 5:No free wifi!
Review 6:You can rent bikes. If you ask, they also have some vegan options for breakfast and vegetarian for dinner. (A bit more would be even better :) ) staff super nice and location close to the beach
Review 7:Due to its location, there is nowhere to buy dinner close to the hostel. For that reason, there is a canteen and a café at the hostel. The café had a variety of snacks and drinks and was meant to be open till 10 pm. However, when we were there, the staff neglected to let us know that it closed at 6 pm that night. That left us with only the canteen, which served a horrible looking green pea soup with a sausage (bockwurst). The hostel was unable to open up the café for even a few minutes, despite not having told us about it closing or having posted notes anywhere saying it was closing early that night. We ended up going to Binz in the evening instead. Towel rent is a ridiculous 4 euros... Unless you're dying to see Prora at night (which is a cool experience), I would recommend staying in Binz instead and going to Prora for a day trip.
Review 8:I didn't like that I had to pay for WiFi and that when I did I could only use it in the Lobby and other common areas.
Review 9:Free breakfast, beach, on location bus stop was very convenient.
Review 10:Everything was ok
Review 11:Amazing location, connected quite well with rest of the Rugen island. Setting in the former workers' resort from the pre-WWII period. Very long sandy beach. Sparkling clean. Very comfortable beds. Abundant breakfast.
Review 12:No wifi in the rooms
Review 13:The "historical" atmosphere. You can still see the result of last century's social experiment in eastern europe.
Review 14:Terrible and totally unhalpfull staff/reception desk.
Review 15:Location is good and its only one plus.
Review 16:A little bit off the beaten path.
Review 17:Great food, much of it organic. Nice lavatory setup. A toilet with sink in its own room. Separate shower room. And another sink with hangers, lockers and shelves on both sides. View of the sea.
Review 18:Very friendly staff. Excellent location. Historical buildings - restored with a gentle hand, I think. It's a hostel, sure, but it's definitely a value for money deal.
Review 19:As an English speaking traveller, it didn't matter too much that the staff couldn't speak English but a few more brochures or pamphlets in different languages would be good.
Review 20:The layout, how close it was to the beach, the bus station and train station close by
Review 21:We encountered some locals attending a Fire Brigade festival who werenot exactly welcoming of foreigners and seemed far-right in theirthinking. Along with the black-clad skinhead orderlies who I assume werethe security for the festival it was not welcoming and we had a fewbeers in our room rather than hang around outside. A shame, as thesurroundings are stunning.
Review 22:Brand new, good facilities and great breakfast. We had a great meal in asmall restaurant in Binz called 'Oma's Küche' and swam inthe (cold) sea in the morning.
Review 23:Very modern facilities, great location for exploring the area. Excellent value for money.
Review 24:Breakfast is available only very early morning.
Review 25:Very pretty, confortable, calm place. Great staff.
Review 26:Best Youth Hostel I've ever stayed in. Better, cleaner and more organised than many hotels. Excellent.
