Reviews for Michel Hotel Wetzlar
Review 1:It was a terrible cigar smell in the room even if the whole hotel is non-smoking one.. pool was out of order. missing hand soap. Internet wasn't free.
Review 2:Breakfast was really good and variate. Location close to center. Free parking.
Review 3:View from room. Restaurant was closed. Could constantly smell smoke when window was open. Even though I requested extra pillows and towels, did not receive them until I asked for them
Review 4:Wetzlar Mercure Hotel recently became Michel Hotel. The new management obviously cut down services in order to save money. The breakfast buffet was magnificent, the best I ever experienced. Now, it is quite basic. In a standard room, none of the usual small item is now provided in bathroom. Soap only at the basin, not in the shower. A "double bed room" turned out to be a twin bed one. Compared to Mercure staff, the style has noticebly changed : Mercure's was helpful and smiling. Michel's is rather severe. I will not book anymore in this place.
Review 5:Nothing.
Review 6:The rooms are nice and recently remodeled. The breakfast buffer is excellent. It is very convenient that the Michel has an integral restaurant and bierstube.
Review 7:Rooms look outdated. Paid wifi is a total rip off. No speed what so ever. Don't accept a room with number x08 or x09. The noisy elevators will prevent you from sleeping. Shower has insufficient water pressure. No ironing rod and board in the room. Parking spots are quickly taken.
Review 8:Breakfast was good
Review 9:Paid W-Fi as in other hotels is included in the price for room. Expensive breakfast. No fridge in the room unfortunately :(
Review 10:Location is excellent, room is clean, quiet place. The staff is helpful and polite.
Review 11:booked king room, but this is just supplied with two small beds! Paid Wifi is not good. Breakfast hot meals were not hot.. sorry it was just an average hotel
Review 12:wifi cost 9 Euro for 24 hours and breakfast cost 15 Euro. need to look at these prices again because these were the highest prices i paid while travel in Germany.
Review 13:The hotel have a parking place and the breakfast was good. The hotel is 5 min drive from the shopping center.
Review 14:Paid internet Very outdated decor Bathroom smelled like smoke Hairdryer didn't work Unfriendly receptionists No bathroom ventilation
Review 15:Free parking on the premises Television in our room
Review 16:Door did not close well; Noise of the elevator (old building, not very well isolated); Expensive breakfast; Paid Wifi (3,- per hour/9,- per day...)
Review 17:Travelling as a family: we requested and got two rooms with a door between the two rooms; Pool (a bit cold, which was not a problem in combination with the sauna); Very well located (10 min walk from the city centre); Big room; coffee making facilities.
Review 18:I booked a superior room. There was no coffee/tea maker on the room. no fridge, no water....nothing to drink... For a queen size bed, only one small blancket. One towl only... And a very dark room........ Breakfast 19 euro is expensive... Disappointed
Review 19:Free parking.
Review 20:Location very close to the old town, the stuff are very friendly and the hotel was clean and nice
Review 21:wifi service is terrible, and expensive
Review 22:The mattress was really bad.
Review 23:Paid wifi???!!In 2015???!! And very slow wifi!!! And water presure was so weak that i could't take a shower, so i am disapointed.
Review 24:nice pool
Review 25:Wifi should be included.
Review 26:The hotel restaurant is not open for lunch and dinner
Review 27:Excellent breakfast buffet, one of the best available in a *** hotel
Review 28:Limited car parking
Review 29:Nice swimming pool
Review 30:standard has dropped since the change of ownership
Review 31:great location
Review 32:A bit old structure especially the bathroom. It will soon need a refurbishing...anyway overall ok
Review 33:Good Breakfast, free (limited) parking, swimming pool, good location to the town centre
Review 34:the hotel is a little bit old ; the noise from the street, we were lucky that is was cold and we stayed with the window closed
Review 35:the parking place, the pool, the city
Review 36:Ugly building, strange layout.
Review 37:Free parking and located close to town centre. Good breakfast, but only if you chose the "breakfast included" option (an extra 14 euros would be too much).
Review 38:The ban on smoking throughout the hotel. This is understandable, but not that good for old smoker.
Review 39:I liked everything. Comfortable room, excellent housekeeping, friendly staff, hearty breakfast. The city center is 5 minutes walk.
Review 40:Lumpy pillows. 18 € for b-fast is way too much, particularly if you justwant something light. A conference hotel where you have to pay for wifiin this day and age?!? Come on, not at these prices. Staff amiable butnot forthcoming with info about hotel (pool, sauna, restaurant, bar).Next to zero info about the hotel or city in the room. Only one coffecup in double room, coffee capsules not refilled.
Review 41:Extra toiletries in bathroom, robes & slippers. Bierstübe. Room wasclean and spacious, bed comfy.
Review 42:The staf was not friendly. I asked him to put the invoice into an envelope .He gave me the envolepe and he told me that this is my job to put the invoice in. I have never seen such actions in my life .
Review 43:Onlly location
Review 44:Our gps didn't find the adress of the hotel, so we took the 'hotelroute' in Wetzlar and so we found the hotel. The walls were very thin so we could hear everything from our neighbours! And because they were arguing during the night we didn't sleep very well. Also the matresses were too soft and not good for my back. We didn't used the facilities because we arrived at night and checked out early in the morning.
Review 45:We had a large room and it was very clean. You can park your car for free near by the hotel.
Review 46:This is definetly not 4 **** hotel. I would say that maximum 3 stars. All around old and scrathched equipment. Elevator from 1983.
Review 47:Quiet and calm place.
Review 48:Very old looking rooms, corridors, lifts, and general appearance of the hotel. Cold water in the swimming pool.
Review 49:Great heating in the room! Cosy bar, food was ok(ish) but not could have been much better.
Review 50:Room fittings are a bit outdated, additional fees for breakfast (€17.50)and wifi (€9) are excessive.
Review 51:Good value for money, nice swimming pool & sauna
Review 52:The walls are not sound-proof, so my neighbors were having sex and I could listen to everything... so disgusting and annoying. Also I don't like that the internet is not free.
Review 53:The staff were very nice people.
Review 54:The Mercure’s Charlotte restaurant- closed The Bierstube Mälzerei bar-closed too. In the description of the hotel there is a restaurant andbar. They exist but are closed and do not work.
Review 55:Rooms were big and clean
Review 56:I have stayed several time at Mercure Hotel Wetzlar. romms near by the lift are uncomfortable because of noise. Even the staff at the desk did not want to help me, she said that she may help tomorrow.and she was a bit rude which I did not like. Anyway they are big hotel chain and the do what ever they want.
Review 57:Very close to city center.
Review 58:rooms were big and clean, we found a really good price for a four stars hotel.. The receptionist was very polite and we could use the sauna and swimming pool even after the check out time.
Review 59:Impersonal, service not too nice. There's quite high extra charge for everything (breakfast, internet).
Review 60:Good location, 10 min. walk from the pretty town of Wetzlar. Free parking available.
Review 61:It is rather spread out - so there can be some long walks between the carpark, rooms, reception if you have luggage.
Review 62:Good location near motorways for an overnight stop. A comfortable and good value business style hotel. The room including the bathroom was bright and well furnished and equipped. It was spacious with a generous desk and a separate sitting area. It was a short walk into the historic town centre, which is quite pleasant with half-timbered buildings (but not one pf Germany's must-sees). Staff were friendly and helpful - and sent on an item of lost property a few days after with no hassle.
Review 63:In room tea and coffee facilities were not available and the duvet wasquite small to provide full cover of the bed.
Review 64:The hotel totally suited my requirements as a business traveller, location, comfort, cleanliness, staff, facilities. The food offered wasvery good, both restaurant, and breakfast was very good.
Review 65:Everything was lovely.
Review 66:I stayed there 2 nights. second day when i returned back to room, i have seen that the room was not made up.
