Reviews for Birkenhof

Review 1:Not so easy to find. As a tip- You have to check green signs " Birkenhof" on the street poles. A bit far from the highway

Review 2:Location is very beautiful. The owner was very friendly And helpful. Nice dinner. Very clear rooms.

Review 3:the location was difficult to find, at the meanwhile when we arrived the main road towards the hotel was closed, we had to drive from another road( or muddy path) The shower was weak

Review 4:the views from our balcony was absolutely gorgeous. Nice and quiet at night Room is clean and comfy Breakfast was really good, a lot to choose from

Review 5:Nothing, going to stay there again.

Review 6:Very quiet. Very good restaurant, with very good service, i.e. you may ask for another kind of salad and the chef prepares it according to your wishes.

Review 7:I wish the breakfast buffet had fresh, not canned, fruit. The surrounding property was abundant with pears,Apple's and plums. ....

Review 8:The location was delightful. Although there was minimal English spoken, smiles were abundant. The room was large and comfortable with s private sitting balcony.

Review 9:It is a little out of the way, but a quiet, charming place. The rooms were large and clean and you are right next to a horse pasture or you can watch the deer frolic in the field in front of the hotel. It is also a short walk to town.

Review 10:Building is shabby and not very neat and tidy around it.

Review 11:Very average.

Review 12:nope.

Review 13:Good breakfast and viewing.

Review 14:Extremely friendly management.

Review 15:It was 34 °C outside,but 45° in the room.

Review 21:nothing

Review 22:the view from from my room and fr breakfast room also ❤️

Review 23:They did not provide any fresh fruit or salad for breakfast however for such a good price it is not so surprising.

Review 24:Friendly and relaxed. Helpful but left you in peace. Lovely country view from room. Could walk directly out into the countryside.

Review 25:All the people are very nice, the rooms are clean and spacious and the location is quiet and just wonderful. We've had a great dinner and I only wish we could stay longer.

Review 26:We stay only for one night and I think that is a hotel for oldest people or a couple and not for children.

Review 27:The owner was friendly and the restaurant was good.

Review 28:Cheap and cheerful, not spophisticated, but local and used by local people. Basic but meets all essentials and very friendly, welcoming and great for a local experience in the Bavarian countryside.

Review 29:- Nobody was there at 2.30pm. We had to wait untill 4pm. It does say checking in between 11am and 8pm. -The beds are very lousy. We came back with pain on our back. - The breakfast is not bad for 1 day but not for 4 days? You have to be quick to choose from everything. It could be more variable.

Review 30:-The staff was very friendly and kind - very quiet - spacy rooms with balcony - restaurant is good

Review 31:Tacky decour, louzy beer shandy, long dark passage on the 2nd floor otherwise I like the place.

Review 32:Country side, value for money, location to Stoewer Museum

Review 33:the fact that the staff didn't speak english. the biggest quirky thing that really got us the most....may 1 was a the may day holiday. and as the hotel is situated on the outskirts of the town Wald-Michelbach there aren't any amenities close at hand and the hotel pretty much shut down at around 17:00 or there abouts. we were wanting to go for dinner at 19:00 and found out that the restarant was closed and actually the whole place was shut down and nothing was said to us that this was going to happen. we managed but would have been disasterous for a family staying there. i asked the owner the next day and she responded that they needed a rest. not even so much as it was a holiday. answered in very broken english mind you. the staff was very respondant when we arrived but just fizzled out after that. and on the day of our departure not even a 'how was your stay?' or 'thankyou for staying'. very impersonable. we went for breakfast which was probably the worst we have ever had. not much effort put into it. and believe me we have stayed in many hotels throughout europe. getting back to our day of departure. an envelope was layed on a table and my wife said to me this must be our table and as it turned out...was. our receipt. we are glad we went to Wald-Michelbach but will not stay at that hotel. but as anyone will see when they arrive.... there isn't alot to choose from. if, for whatever reason we decide to travel to that area again, we will stay in weinheim. much bigger and more hotels to choose from. and if we decide to venture out to Wald-Michelbach we will take the transit bus for the day trip. much better.

Review 34:very interesting. nice location although difficult to find. very poor directions as no one spoke english and we ended up taking a taxi from weinheim and even the driver wasn't sure where to go. but once there we enjoyed most of our stay.

Review 35:We stayed at the Birkenhof due to its country location and its proximity to Heidelberg. It was a wonderful place with friendly staff and great food. I highly recommned it.
