Reviews for Hotel La Cepada

Review 1:Excellent dinner when we arrived and delicious breakfast in the morning. Nice view, easy parking, a few steps from town. Too bad the weather was not so good, but the place was cozy and the bed one of the most confortable I have known.

Review 2:No air-con (though fan provided when asked). Bathroom dated and shower poor. Bar & restaurant lacking in atmosphere. No hot food at breakfast.

Review 3:Large room, great view. Comfy bed.

Review 4:Too expensive... specially considering that it does not offer much in terms of leisure facilities. A swimming pool is definitely missing.

Review 5:Probably one of the best hotels in Cangas. Large rooms, with great views over the city and surrounding mountains.

Review 6:15mins from the village center

Review 7:Nice, clean and very spacious room Helpful and friendly service Wonderful view to Picos de Europa Good location for trips

Review 8:Old hotel with unfriendly staff. Nobody was at reception. Rooms do not have windows. Rooms do not have double beds, only twins. Location is bad as well, as you ca not walk to down town.

Review 9:Nothing. Horrible experience.

Review 10:Allication of room right underneath a suite where a wedding reception was taken place. Unable to open windows due to noise, cigarette and cigar smoke coming into the room, as well as lack of privacy.

Review 11:Location and size of the room. Service by Abdul. Great food

Review 12:The view from our room of the Picos, the lovely terrace, the immaculate bathroom and separate toilet, the spacious room. The covered parking for our motorcycle.

Review 13:There seemed to be a lack of staff which meant a lack of service. There was no one on reception when we arrived. You had to ring a bell to get service at the bar and you had to find someone to get coffee at breakfast not something you would expect from a 4* hotel. Also the path from the hotel to the street below was a steep dirt track with no lighting.

Review 14:The superior rooms were very spacious with a large bathroom. The views over Cangas were fantastic. The staff were friendly when you could find them.

Review 15:A little too far out of town to walk into Cangas. No English spoken.

Review 16:Super-clean room. Modern, well designed hotel. Lovely views from huge window & terraces. Friendly staff.

Review 17:No one at the reception desk as it appears that there is only one staff member for this hotel, and he not only handles the desk, but also works the bar/restaurant and does whatever else is necessary.

Review 18:The location is excellent with georgeous views of Picos and the restaurant is extremely good.

Review 19:We were there when it was hot but there was no air-conditioning in the bedrooms so it was too hot to sleep easily at night The restaurant, whilst being very high quality food, had a very limited menu if one did not want to always have a full 3 course meal

Review 20:Views from bedrooms were fantastic Service was good at all times

Review 21:Location. It's within walking distance of the town center but fairly inconvenient to walk up and down. There wasn't anyone ever in reception, had to call them on the phone every time. Had the impression of the hotel being deserted while in fact it was high season. Not a good value for money during that time.

Review 22:Room was very spacious and breakfast was really enjoyable. View overlooking the town from the hotel is nice. Parking onsite.

Review 23:we got a room, super small. such a contrast from the pictures shown in the advertisement. it is not only smaller than the ones shown in picture, it is indeed the smallest window i ever had in a hotel. hotel is remote on a hill, nothing to do unless you go to the town. very few hotel staff, when help needed, you need to wait.

Review 24:not sure anything special. the owner was kind letting us to shorten the stay, thanks.

Review 25:Location is out of town and may require taking a car to go to town; this creates a complication since it is hard to park in Cangas. Absence of air conditioner is strange for a hotel of this rank.

Review 26:Rooms are spacious and hotel offers parking facilities.

Review 27:There was only 1 member of staff on duty who had only grasp of English, when asked about the restaurant became the cook. the food we had was strange, another family were turned away from the restaurant being told an inspection was taking place. On a Sunday evening ?? The next morning same thing the girl on reception became the waitress, when we tried to check out no-one could be found. Very Poor

Review 28:Room was very good and spotless.

Review 29:Poor breakfast, fruit was well past it's sell by date, not much of a selection Would have expected better from this standard of hotel

Review 30:Large bedrooms Outstanding views Very quiet

Review 31:Specifically, we ordered this hotel because of its magnificent view shown from a huge window in each room ( as was demonstrated in the pictures of the site). To our disappointment, we got a room (probably additional floor) under the roof with smaller and higher window which darken the room. The staff attitude was not fair. They said it is a standard room but no one could understand it from the hotel web site.

Review 32:the hotel in a hill outside the city, must have a car

Review 33:the room is very nice and large, hotel team service was very kind

Review 34:Breakfast was a bit of a disappointment for the money paid.

Review 35:The fabulous view from the very large room.

Review 36:Beds very comfortable. Staff very helpfull and some staff speak English.

Review 37:Inadequate staff, very poor service, poor restaurant and breakfast choices, gloomy decor

Review 38:Large room with view, covenient location for the Picos

Review 39:For a four star hotel no customer service at all no-one in reception no advice really a motel didn't feel special

Review 40:The views are amazing

Review 41:Late opening time for dinner.

Review 42:Great location with wonderful view of the Picos, took option of upgrade at reasonable price. V good facilities.

Review 43:Amazing views

Review 44:Staff at the hotel, Abdou and Pilar were not only professional, but also very helpful and courteous

Review 45:Secluded location but near the town centre

Review 46:The place lacks atmosphere. The reception area looks like a kindergarten rather than one of a 4 star hotel.

Review 47:The spacious room and the view

Review 48:No air conditioning, hardly any staff. I would question the 4 stars. Well designed building but room was a little shabby.

Review 49:View from window.

Review 50:The style of the place

Review 51:Quality of food was good, but very restricted menu at dinner and breakfast.

Review 52:Nothing all very good.

Review 53:The helpful people and the amazing views.

Review 54:Charming interiors, spacious rooms, fantastic views of Picos de Europa, very friendly staff. Lovely restaurant

Review 55:wi-fi works only in lobby

Review 56:Excellent location, fantastic views from rooms. Respectable restaurant.

Review 57:The downside of the hotel location for those people who are less mobile is that it is slightly away from the town centre up an unlit hill. The hotel is a little tired in decor but especially in the unkempt, unplanted flower pots and terrace area. It gives an undeserved bad impression of the hotel.

Review 58:The position of the hotel with a quiet location and fantastic views. The reception staff were pleasant even helping with the selection of our onward hotel. A big room with fantastic views.

Review 59:Everything ok. The hotel is not in the centre, but it's 2 minutes drive.

Review 60:Superb service, great views. Reallye good value for the money we paid. We had dinner there and the restaurant is amazing. Probably one of the best hotel in Cangas Onis and, of course, in the region. We had a great time and would like to thank Jose, the owner, and Abdou, maitre, for their work.

Review 61:Saturday nights can be busy if there is a wedding on but don't let it put you off.

Review 62:Location looking out over the town, only a short walk into town keeps it nice and quiet. Brilliant rooms, great value. This is my second visit never been disappointed, great parking if your going to Cangas de Onis stay here !!

Review 63:1.5 miles from town up a steep hill, not advised on website. Staff were good but not enough of them. Single waiter, receptionist and barman had to be everywhere at the same time!

Review 64:Rooms were large and spacious, had a 4 star feel

Review 65:The situation of this hotel is perfect in that it has a beautiful view of the town and mountains. Car parking is good and its just a 10 minute walk into the very nice town centre. The room was spacious and very comfortable.

Review 66:The hotel seems to be on a down phase.... Seems like it was meant to be a more upscale hotel than it is today.. Maybe because the hospitality market in the region is down this hotel is also suffering from it.

Review 67:Friendly people and nice location if you're planning on visiting this part of the country.

Review 68:Very disappointed that the restaurant was not open for dinner. We had traveled almost nine hours to get here so this was not a great start. The receptionist said that there were restaurants open in the village but didn't make any suggestions. If you are going in the Winter, take a torch as the half kilometre walk to the edge of town is in pitch black darkness.

Review 69:The hotel had the most amazing location with views to die for. The rooms are spacious and modern. The breakfast was very good - not normal buffet service.

Review 70:Pica pica menu was good but over priced and the same with the coffee, breakfast is 9 euros so better to have breakfast and coffee for free. As for the restaurant more explenation about food and wine we ordered 2 glasses of wine the bottle was placed on our table and turned out to be 16 euros, its better to inform guest about prices in advance so they can decide. The chef was very friendly the waitress can be more hospitable it was very quiet 4 couverts so personal attention could be given a lot more than we have received.

Review 71:Service at check in excellent, free upgrade and clear information + a nice xmas gift in the room. Warm clean room with hot shower and a fire place in the living room. pets are welcome for 15 euros a night.

Review 72:The superb service from the owner, beautiful location, big spacious rooms, good food in the restaurant, they acept dogs, easy parking, amazing value for money, will 100% return to this area because of this fantastic hotel!!!!

Review 73:We really had a very pleasant stay here! We discovered a great restaurante, located in the same building, with amazing Asturian style cuisine. Amazing place!

Review 74:Manager did not seem very welcoming or friendly, but did not matter as we did not deal with him. Would not advise walking to the location after dark alone. Ok with two people as very dark, may need a torch.

Review 75:Liked location and good standard of spacious accomodation with clean/fairly modern bathroom facility. Excellent views from hillside location down valley. Busy, touristic town centre about 10 minutes walk away though not advisable at night for vulnerable people travelling alone. Ok with car. Beautiful surroundings and activivity for kids including canoeing, horseriding , walking up mountains. Superb views. breakfast fairly good. Waiter service.

Review 76:I had read the excellent reviews on this hotel and didn't know whatto expect because it is rated as a 3 star. We were very pleased to findthat the reviews were well merited. It is a haven of tranquility in awonderful natural setting in the mountains. We booked 2 double rooms inthe annexe building across the road from the hotel. The decor isbeautiful - like a mountain lodge with a very large elegant sittingroom. We enjoyed a delicious meal on the terrace. There was a lovelyatmosphere in this hotel which could be a 4 if not a 5 star! We alsodiscovered a fully furnished playhouse much to our children'sdelight! We used a mountain bike free of charge. On check-out thereceptionist charged us for one family room and she didn't chargefor the children's breakfast. This was an exceptionally kindgesture. It is obvious that the staff are very proud of this fine hotel. We would love to return some day! The Saint Bernard dog was snoring inthe porch when we left!!

Review 77:I liked especially the good food, the amazing view out of the windows of the dining room, the veranda with its great view, the good manners of the very kind staff .

Review 78:On booking in, was told that they had no booking from Booking.com. After showing ref No. We had to wait over an hour for our rooms.then got the bill wrong on leaving after two nights

Review 79:The view, the restaurant manager spoke good English and seemed to run the hotel

Review 80:Nothing.

Review 81:Splendid location with fantastic views over Cangas and the mountains from the big windows. Very good accommodation. Short walk into town. Very helpful staff and really delicious and interesting food. We would definitely stay there again

Review 82:It's very close to the village center, but it's not in center.Requires a 3 minutes car ride or 20 minutes walking. Everything elsewas great!

Review 83:Picos da Europe are a wonderful place. We were very lucky with the goodweather, taking the advantage of snow in the "picos" andpleasant sunny weather in the Lakes and in the Beach. The hotel is verynice, fantastic landscape, great breakfast on the terrace with view forthe mountains. We ordered a standard room and we were pleased on ourarrival with a big superior room with a great view. We were supposed tostay two nights, but at the end we decide to stay one more night. Highlyrecommended!

Review 84:Nice, scenic wiew. Friendly staff.

Review 85:Half board menu was limited but the food was delicious

Review 86:Location, the attentive staff and the stunning views

Review 87:The location was perfect for our holiday needs, the local town has everything to offer

Review 88:the crazy chicken which woke up at 4 am!!!

Review 89:very well kept with spectacular views from all rooms!

Review 90:Female staff at reception was not very welcoming

Review 91:The view from our room

Review 92:Breakfast was ordinary.

Review 93:The rooms were large, and the view from the room looking over the town and mountains was fantastic.

Review 94:£15 was a bit expensive for the dog!

Review 95:Fantastic hotel in beautiful surroundings - very comfortable and staffextremely helpful.
