Reviews for Beguta Guest House
Review 1:poor Wifi reception in the room where we stayed
Review 2:very cute location with flower shop and small café at the ground floor, warm and friendly staff, healthy food available, a beautiful discovery
Review 3:wifi connection was not so good in my room, but that would really be my only 'complaint'
Review 4:Beautifully decorated rooms, friendly staff, a cute little flower shop and on top of all that, a cosy vegetarian cafe. It is a little heaven in Haapsalu and without a doubt the best place to stay.
Review 5:An old door is not an appropriate replacement for a bed frame. Consequently our backs hurt the next day. The soap was a mixture of cereals with soap formed to a ball and thus both misuse of food and not a usable soap.
Review 6:Good location.
Review 7:No real curtains - room lightens early in the morning. No spot lamps, no curtain in the showeroom, dust and sand under beds.
Review 8:Good quiet neighbourhood, rooms with character, nice old building. Clean and fresh bed sheet, comfortable bed.
Review 9:we booked the room with two SEPARATE beds, several months before arriving, the room was, however, with a double bed. Thanks to the nice straff we got an extra bed
Review 10:the atmosphere
Review 11:We could hear constant loud stomping/running from another room and the nearby Haapsalu Episcopal castle is often used as a concert venue in the summer, the events are well audible in the rooms at night.
Review 12:This guesthouse is in a good central location. The room was comfortable, clean, with country house decor. Nice café on the ground floor for a tasty and healthy breakfast. The restaurants and shops of the main street are a short stroll away. Easy access to seaside and promenade. Friendly staff.
Review 13:(In our room nro 1)Wifi didn't work during our stay. Hottest time of the year room might get hot but windows open and the area is quiet at night.
Review 14:Room and the bathroom were very nice.
Review 15:Throw rug provided in bathroom
Review 16:Very helpful owner/staff. Nicely ressurected 100+ year old building thoughtful interior design and decoration for a basic room. /
Review 17:The place is optimally located, just around the corner from the castle. Rooms are very simple and offer few amenities but are elegantly decorated by the owner who was very helpful and kind. There is no breakfast included but you can use the kitchen on the ground floor or choose from the nearby cafes.
Review 18:no chair in single room, no external signs
Review 19:excellent location, very cozy & quiet place, FUN to be without TV, friendly & helpful staff, unexampled interior.
Review 20:Nice and cosy old house. There is a flower and giftshop downstairs. You can grab beautiful rose or bouquet any time and pay later... I did it in midnight :)
Review 21:There wasn't a shower curtain, so the bathroom was quite wet, but other than that everything else was okay.
Review 22:I liked the whole design and interior in the building. It was very cozy and made me feel like I was far away from the city. Our room was quiet and perfect for two of us. Bed was comfortable, but 2 separate blankets were a bit annoying. I liked that there was no TV in the room, it's a bit different from the regular hotels, but it was a nice experience. I would recommend staying there for sure, you won't be disappointed. It really does look as cozy as it is in the pictures!
Review 23:No coffee or tea facilities for guests. Poor wifi in room.
Review 24:Loved the location. Room comfy with nice window to watch the passersby on street below. Tasteful simple decor.
Review 25:The house is not at all isolated and therefore you hear every noise (walking, snoring from above, left and right). The equipment is extremely basic – bed, chair, table (no night curtains and the sunrise is very early, one chair for two persons, one nightlight for two persons, no coat hook, no bedside table, a used soap in the bathroom, no shower gel).
Review 26:The café/restaurant in the same building (not part of the Guest House) is very nice and has delicious food. After a terrible night we enjoyed a very good breakfast.
Review 27:I arrived a bit too early, and didn't feel welcome at all. Although a very pretty staircase, difficult to climb with suitcases wearing no shoes. (you have to take of your shoes, which I didn't mind as such)
Review 28:Basic room (no TV, no wardrobe) but nicely done, nice floors, great bed. Overall very nice stay in a lovely coastal town. Breakfast, coffee in downstairs café.
Review 29:* The matress is much too thin. Its the same like sleeping on the floor. * Our bathroom smelled mildewy * No light next to the bed
Review 30:* Nice staff * Simple but good rooms
Review 31:There is a cafe on the first floor, which is offering perfect breakfest, different every morning. You can just go downstairs from your room, not changing those cosy slippers they are offering to make you feel exactly like you are at home! City center is right around the corner(although city is so tiny, there is a city center almost around every corner :) ) If you are allergic to cats keep in mind there is one very friendly cat living downstairs, who, I am sure, wont bother you if you ask her to leave)
Review 32:Bathroom missed shower curtains - can not go afterwards to toilet so that feet remain dry , floors could be more clean ( dust rolls near walls), no stands for towels in the bathroom. Window Curtains have big stains and do not offer shade for morning sun (early wake up by light).
Review 33:Big room, quiet region, good beds, cafe downstairs, big towels.
Review 34:We could hear the footsteps on the floor from the room above us, but luckily the small child went to bed reasonably early. Also (small thing but) no bedside lights which for a family room with 3 people made bedtime reading problematic.
Review 35:Great location in Haapsalu and close to excellent restaurants with good value food and al fresco eating. Very comfortable beds, clean rooms and a good shower.
Review 36:The room is quite minimalistic and simple but it's clean and comfortable. We really enjoyed that downstairs there was a very nice cafe with nice simple foods. Good place to have pancakes for breakfast. A homely place!
Review 37:Very sweet place with really nice atmosphere, friendly staff and perfect location
Review 38:Peaceful location, simple but beautiful rooms, friendly staff.
Review 39:We arrived late, but were arranged to get the keys within minutes, even though the staff had already left.
Review 40:Lovely staff, beautiful building, comfortable bed.
Review 41:This is the best place to be in Haapsalu <3
Review 42:Comfort bed
Review 43:House, location, breakfast, free wifi
Review 44:Rooms very simple and bare.
Review 45:Downstairs cafe had small but delicious selection for breakfast: e.g., pancakes, omelets and porridge with berry sauce.
Review 46:Coffee downstairs very friendly
Review 47:no WiFi signal
Review 48:breakfast was not included, but they had a little café in the hotel where you could get a good breakfast
Review 49:Suurepärane koht!
Review 50:No breakfast available before 0900 hrs.
Review 51:Good location. Fair price.
Review 52:Quiet place in the old town
Review 53:Difficult to criticise anything.
Review 54:Good, well priced, simple accommodation in a good location.
Review 55:The rug on the bathroom floor had not been cleaned for a while.
Review 56:The atmosphere and interior design is wonderful. The location is perfect.
Review 57:Floor of the shower area was really cold
Review 58:Atmosphere was superb, and service.
Review 59:Big noise from upstairs
Review 60:Location, cozy room
Review 61:nothing I can think of
Review 62:everything was great
Review 63:No shower curtain
Review 64:Very good location. Organic cafe at ground floor serves e.g. quiche and pancakes for breakfast.
Review 65:Wifi pasword didn't work
Review 66:Beautiful interior, friendly staff, cafee, free parking all around the hotel, clean
Review 67:Clean and comfortable rooms. Excellent location (next to main street).
Review 68:No shower curtain, rain noise due to steel window bank
Review 69:Lovely decorated, in the heart of the town, comfortable beds
Review 70:The noise. Family that runs the place, lives in the same building, and sleeping was impossible before midnight. Also, complimentary WIFI was not working, not in the rooms, and not in the lobby. There was no breakfast, and the cafe downstars was closed due holidays.
Review 71:Location was good. Room was big enough.
Review 72:If you beg your guests to put down their shoes, the floor should be cleaner; But the really dirty bathroom rug and the filthy table cloth is a absolutely NO-GO! Additional to that we got no sleep because of a children was running up and down a room above us until after midnight.
Review 73:Basically a good concept, nice renovation works, but still in progress. Cafe and Florist shop on the ground floor, rooms upstairs. Big towels and clean linen. Excellent WiFi; If you like to put off you shoes before you can go upstairs, if you like futon-style beds, and if you don't need a shower curtain - than it is positive.
Review 74:Distractions from the third floor but fortunately this did not effect my sleeping.
Review 75:The owner allowed me to use her kitchen as her cafe was not ready. She was delightful and I appreciated her suggestions on shopping for shawls. One must go to the Guild of Master Knitters. Beautiful shop.
Review 76:Would really need a bedside lamp for reading!
Review 77:Lovely athmosphere in the renovated old house. Specially liked the simple style. All the details were really thought of. Beguta is situated right by the corner of the main street Karja, next to the castle.
Review 78:Wifi did not work properly, got stuck occasionally.
Review 79:Wery nice decor, simple but functional. The location was in the middle of town, but it was still peaceful inside.
Review 80:The curtains did not block the sunshine in the morning. So we woke up very early when the sun came up. We're used to sleeping in dark rooms. Otherwise it was very nice!
Review 81:Location. Cozy place
Review 82:Noise from upstairs during the night, lack of shower curtain and hangers in the bathroom. There could be also a wardrobe or more hangers for the clothes.
Review 83:Central location, nice old building, roomes were very clean and recently renovated, interesting interior, welcoming and helpful staff, possibility to use kitchen and prepare meal, very good value for money.
Review 84:Cozy, homely. Stylish room in Old Town. Common: hall with fireplace downstairs. Coffee and tea in the kitchen. There is no reception and family members are meeting guests. Owners daugther was extremely helpful and nice.
Review 85:Basic accomodation: no TV. A bit noisy upstairs (but I was warned: very dinamic toddler toddling upstairs :-))
Review 86:Excellent value for money. Very nice and helpful owner. Cozy place, good free wifi. Free use of kitchen. Charming village!
Review 87:Owners child kept running all the time above our room...stoped some time after 23. Little bit annoying. There was no shower curtain(but there was curtain hanger in place...), toilet and toilet carpet got wet because of that. Soap was old and not one time use soap. Very small trash can only in toilet.
Review 88:Small comfy place for the value. Everithing to see is close by.
Review 89:Like any guest house I suppose, you get quirks and dings - here it was some noise from "nearby" (in home) construction and rambunctious children. I had an abutting room to the home / apartment on the other side, so I couldn't tell if the noise was host's or another family's. However, did not distract from my sleep so was a minor issue for me.
Review 90:Felt at home; shared kitchen; host provided warm welcome and helpful advice; location central to my interests; my bicycle felt safe; and last, but not least, extremely economical (possibly due to off-season). Great place for me - delighted to have stayed there!
Review 91:The furniture in the bedroom was minimal and we did feel that the addition of 2 bedside tables (or even one between the 2 single beds) would be a good idea.
Review 92:We were very impressed by this guest house and its friendly owner. She has customised many of the rooms with her own art work, which was pretty impressive. The bedroom was clean and the beds were comfortable, with an excellent bathroom. We used the kitchen and dining room to prepare our own breakfast and this gave us a chance to socialise with some of the other guests staying there. The position of the guesthouse is excellent, very near the centre of this small town.
Review 93:Amazing to stay at a place where everything runs smoothly without any staff being visible and where you are asked to leave money for the room on the window sill before you depart. No check-in, no check-out, absolute trust! Truly remarkablr!
Review 94:Still to finish last touches with the refurbishment in the kitchen area and maybe bedside table would be good. This is not bad however as we were basically first guests.
Review 95:Close to town, walking distance. Lovely decor and eco design. Lovely host and relaxing environment.
Review 96:we couldn't really fault this place at all for the price paid.
Review 97:We liked pretty much everything about this new guesthouse. It is well located in the centre of town and the rooms are spacious. We've been on the road for a month and our room had one of the best budget-level bathrooms we've seen. It even included proper sized towels (rather than the usual hanky-size efforts!), chocolate soap and Dove shower gel. A rare treat! The owner was very pleasant and there is a brand new kitchen and dining room if you want to cook for yourself. we thought this was good value for money.
Review 98:Nothing
Review 99:Very cosy place! If u are going to stay there,be sure it will be like at home!
Review 100:Great value in a lovely small historical town.
Review 101:Siisti, pieni hotelli keskustassa.
Review 102:Staff is friendly and room was really nice .
Review 103:Nice, clean, minimalistic room with wc and shower. Wifi. Excellent for short stay.
