Reviews for City-Hotel Kurfürst Balduin
Review 1:Our room was facing the main street and there is a night club on the other side of the street which was open until 11.00 AM. It was a bit noisy, but it didn't ruin our experience. Tip: ask for a room facing the back street and not the main avenue
Review 2:Perfect location, comfortable and clean room. Friendly staff.
Review 3:- noise from the corridors during the night - thin walls
Review 4:+ very good location near the town centre + very good breakfast with a rich variety + good value for money
Review 5:Noisy street
Review 6:Convenient to old city and start of our boat trip. We were able to leave our car in secure parking ( for a fee) while we did week on boat.
Review 7:Quite noisy surroundings, sleeping with open windows impossible (those, however, are well noise-isolated)
Review 8:Staff provided vegan supplies for breakfast (to request during booking), helped out with restaurant choice for the evening
Review 9:Unfortunately our visit coincided with renovation work, mostly affecting the reception area. The wifi connection was very weak
Review 10:The location was great for us, walkable from the train station, close to the river where we were boardIng our boat trip and ideal for the city centre. Staff friendly and helpful. Great buffet breakfast of hot and cold foods
Review 11:As the hotel is on a busy and rather loud street, it should have some AC so one could close the windows and sleep. Also, while it is okay to lock the doors at 11PM, it is not alright to lock the elevator at the same time, forcing elderly people to climb flights of stairs. They really need to have someone there on the night shift and leave the elevator going.
Review 12:The location by the Altstadt was excellent. The fact that it had parking was also a big plus. The people at the front desk were some of the friendliest I have ever encountered. The room was clean.
Review 13:Room was hot and the bed sheet felt like plastic. Drink machines all turned off on every floor.
Review 14:Nice and helpful staff. Good location for central Koblenz. Very clean
Review 15:the rooms don't have airco and a train station is nearby so leaving the windows open at night can be an issue. For those reasons i would not book this hotel again.
Review 16:location is perfect for a stroll into Koblenz
Review 17:Could have benefitted from some air-conditioning as the weather was very warm, but the fan in the room was very welcome and kept us cool.
Review 18:Central to the city and just walking distance to key sites. very friendly staff. hotel very clean and functional.
Review 19:The street is rather noisy and the absence of aircondition forces one to sleep with earprotection or window closed
Review 20:The bed, the breakfast and the short way to the old town.
Review 21:it was a bit cold in the room, despite the properly working heating, but it wasn't so awful frankly speaking
Review 22:very good location - just in the old city centre, 15 min to the railway station, clean, comfortable room, very good internet connection, fiendly stuff, we were given two blankets at once after complaining about the cold in the room
Review 23:No coffee/tea making facilities in room and had to pay for coffee/tea at machine in reception.
Review 24:Excellent location with the Alstadt starting acroos the road and very easy to access by road. On site tiefgarage with lift access from all floors. Surprised how good and varied the beakfast was, including bacon but no English style orange marmalade! Had to search for English breakfast tea! Staff all spoke excellent English and were very helpful.
Review 25:Latest check-in is 23:00 which restricted my choice of flights.
Review 26:The staff were friendly, the room was spotlessly clean and the bed was comfy. Only a few minutes walk from many bars and restaurants.
Review 27:Not a big deal, but located on busy street across from a late night, "low class "hookah bar - maybe a little noisy from traffic and patrons from bar.
Review 28:Friendly reception staff. Clean room. Simple yet functional. Location.
Review 29:The hotel is located quite well. We stayed at the hotel for one night and it had what we needed. Our window was facing the street with quite a bit traffic, but I sleeped with my earplugs in..Great morning buffet - Value for money.
Review 30:Pleased there was underground parking, but limited number of spaces and cannot reserve. You would have a major problem parking nearby if none left
Review 31:Room comfortable Breakfast good Excellent for walking into city Good access by car even though very near to city centre, although it was weekend
Review 32:Try and get (as with all hotels, really...) to get a room at the back side of the building: the front faces a busy road and can be noisy.
Review 33:Centrally located: not only the Altstadt around the corner, but also easy to reach by car, with ample parking space nearby. Excellent breakfast, with an enormous choice and friendly staff. Great value for money!

Review 64:Proximity to Aldstadt, good breakfast, good value.
Review 65:Staff was amazing
Review 66:The bed was not a twin size one. 2It was composed of 2 small sized beds.
Review 67:Staff very cute and helpfull to foreigners.
Review 68:No issues
Review 69:Good location, secure parking for bike
Review 70:The hotel is easy to find. The room was clean and calm. Located just near the center, we have just to cross one road to be in the pedestrian area.
Review 71:the shower, the breakfast, the quietness in the back room, the lift, everything

Review 80:Good location in the centre of the old town, rooms well maintained and clean. The staff very friendly.
Review 81:The corridor smell
Review 82:Great location, good value/money
Review 83:Hard to find the parking garage
Review 84:Staff were helpful. Close to the AltStadt and Deutsches Eck.
Review 85:We could not use the elevator coming from the street past midnight; breakfast was fine but a bit overpriced; bathroom a tad too small; the place has zero charm or personality.
Review 86:Great location close to old town and train station; very helpful and nice personnel; clean and peaceful. Good option for one or two nights.
Review 87:Room very basic. We had to ask for bigger drinking glassess for the room as you get a one sip glass.
Review 88:Location and great parking. Coffee machine in lobby that caters for 24/7 service.
Review 89:We had a room on the off street side of hotel and the train line is on that side but didn't have a problem sleeping.
Review 90:Great location to the old town. Turn left out of the train station and keep walking on the main road about 20 mins walk.
Review 91:Crowded at breakfast and the staff there were quite stressed.
Review 92:Great location with the city center just across the street. Nothing fancy but clean and functional. Nice staff in the reception. Good breakfast for an acceptable price.
Review 93:it was OK for my stay as it wasn't hot but there is no air con that I could see. of you open the window you get traffic and people noise until fairly late.
Review 94:excellent location right across from the old town. easy walk from the train station, come out of the station, turn left and keep walking. takes 10 - 15 mins. Has what you require, staff are helpful.
Review 95:My husband and I were on a 4 day back packing trip down the Rhine. Started off by flying into Frankfurt, Took the train to Koblenz and the sailed the Rhine for 2 days down to Mainz. We walked from each train station and boat dock to our hotels everywhere we stayed. This hotel was the only one we got lost finding. This could have been the fault of Mapquest as it was not easy to find. We probably walked 30 mins. longer to find the hotel than we would have if the map had been correct. The hotel is situated on a busy street. Beds are uncomfortable.
Review 96:The staff was very helpful and spoke fluent English. Was located very close to all the attractions and easy to walk around. Is quite far to walk from the HBF but close to the KD Rhine dock. The breakfast was good. It included bacon and scrambled eggs.
Review 97:When we stepped onto the first floor there was an awful smell. It continued to the room. I would assume the smell came from the smokers in the building. It was not pleasant...especially since we are not smokers. The facilities were old, but for the most part clean. My biggest inconvenience was the noise at night. Since we stayed during the summer time, the windows were open...BIG MISTAKE. About four fire trucks or ambulances went by the building. It was LOUD. We had a hard time sleep even after closing the windows. I will not be returning to this hotel.
Review 98:The location...
Review 99:room design street voice no garden no relation with Koblenz city concept no AC in the room.
Review 100:location was perfect.. was close to train station and old city center.
Review 101:Uninspiring building and decorations, carpets in the corridors, only sizeable common area is the dining room. (Minor details for the price paid!)
Review 102:Very central, you cross the road and you're in the AltStadt, the old town. Less than 10 mins walk from the confluence of the rivers (Deutsches Eck, the German Corner). Wi-fi in the whole building, nice buffet breakfast (continental, international), helpful staff, clean room.
Review 103:I feel the hotel is a little overpriced. It is like most hotels in Koblenz - was last renovated / the decor is from the late 1980s or early 1990s. While mostly clean (apart from stains on the carpet and a bad smell in the hallway) I don't feel they should be charging more than 40 Euros a night. It needs renovating, but if a clean room and a bed for the night is what you want, you can get it here. You can get a newer version of the same thing for less money if you stay at the B&B Hotel though.
Review 104:Location of the hotel is good, if a little noisy.
Review 105:Nice, clean, comfortable room. The staff on the most part were very helpful and pleasant. The hotels location is a 10-15 min walk to Deutsches Eck monument and Seilbahn through the town and there are near several nice restaurants close by. The secure underground car parking was great, apart from initially be charged for 4 car parking spaces when we had 4 motorcycles in one car parking space but we did get that resolved (+) We were told at check in about the reception being closed between 22.00 an 06.30 and that the lift were switched off but this was not an issue for us.
Review 106:Excellent location close to the old city centre, christmas market and shopping streets. Friendly staff. Parking facilities at the hotel at eur 9 daily. Very good breakfast offering a variety of hot and cold dishes.
Review 107:my room is by the street, someone come back very late, laughing, talking,so it's very noisy.
Review 108:near the downtown, the room is very clean and price is not hign
Review 109:No air conditioning and some street noise at night if you have to leave the windows open.
Review 110:Good location, only minutes from the main shopping area. Free WiFi, good breakfast. Staff wre helpful.
Review 111:The fact that there was no aircon (and it was an amazing 35 - 40 deg when I was there) meant that either you melted in the room, or had the windows open and there was heavy traffic most of the time.
Review 112:The rooms were comfortable and spotless. The free WiFi was very useful. Location to old town was amazing and it was also easy to walk to the station (maybe not with luggage!). Breakfast buffet was excellent but as this was an optional extra you could 'take it or leave it'.
Review 113:Only minus: my room was towards the street, no problem with closedwindow but very loud with open window.
Review 114:Nice hotel, gold service (very uncomplicated).
Review 115:It had a budget-feel to it, basic and functional. We had a room over the very busy and loud street, even with the windows closed it was noisy.
Review 116:We chose it for its proximity to the KD Rhine boat dock AND the train station, as well as town. Decent breakfast buffet for the price.
Review 117:Check in was possible up to 11pm, it needed one call and they told methat. I was tipped on taking the smoker room as it was to the back andnot to the street, which may have been noisy - no smells or stains, sothe only difference I could spot was the ashtray ;-)
Review 118:Unfortunately we noticed in the bed was a lot of short black hairs, welet the staff know and they came up immediately and changed the bedding,
Review 119:We had a 15min walk from the station to our hotel, very close todeutsches Eck, very good breakfast, good Wi Fi, courteous staff, had alovely stay.
Review 120:Average room quality, not the most comfortable beds.
Review 121:Great location, friendly staff.
Review 122:comfortable fairly quiet free garage for bicycles location
Review 123:Nothing to note
Review 124:Great location. Good room and breakfast
Review 125:Breakfast was good
Review 126:Very Good
