Reviews for Hotel Haus Morjan

Review 1:Elevator hit between floors

Review 2:Location, view, convenience, parking (even moved another car for us), restaurant, wonderful owner - would definitely go again

Review 3:Lift was out of order. Didn't seem to bother the staff that the guests were put out. Walking up 4 sets of stairs after travelling is not easy.

Review 4:Book a front room over looking the River Rhine to get the feel of the region. Back rooms over look a car park and are darker. Enjoyable stay. Good breakfast.

Review 5:The pillows were terrible

Review 6:The staff was most helpful especially since we made a mistake while booking. Breakfast was delicious and the location was perfect.

Review 7:The bed is very bad. They should change the mattress immediately. Staff who checked me in was not friendly. Did not smile at all. Staff who checked me out couldn't speak English. There was bad smell in bathroom.

Review 8:Location is very good. The view is very good.

Review 9:Location was amazing and breakfast was very good. The personal was not very friendly, specially not in the morning. We got into a small fight because we sat down on a table that was supposed to be reserved, but there was no reservation sign whatsoever. Despite that, it was a very pleasant stay! If you book there, try to get a room with view on the river; we did not have it (not really the hotel's fault) but did regret it!

Review 10:Room not ready on time. It was 2 hours late. Staff not at all concerned with delay. Staff were not willing to communicate in English. No air conditioning. Staff, or lack of. need to learn how to appreciate tourist. Worst staff performance we have ever experienced.

Review 11:Location. Parking on site. Excellent WiFi. Fortunately the router was above our door.

Review 12:Arrived on Monday Restaurant was closed also minimum staff of 1 person on duty at reception and did not seem happy we had arrived at all. Parking area was small ..Breakfast was very basic ...Overall I would not stay at this hotel again it was not a pleasant experience .

Review 13:Location view from windows all facing the Rhine were Fabulous

Review 14:Sour faced receptionist was very off putting. Didn't even welcome us on arrival, and was very reticent to deal with any problems. WiFi did not initially work, but after the system had been restarted it worked.

Review 15:Location and free parking very good

Review 16:There are about 8 parking spots behind the hotel. If you show up late, you are parking at the public lot, paying & walking to the hotel. We also requested a Rhein River view but got the back side building view - yuck. Would've been nice if the hotel clerks had let us know about the fireworks that were scheduled that evening. We heard them but didn't have enough time to get the kids back outside to see them. The hotel provides the bare minimum in terms of amenities - one thing of hand soap for the bathroom. No shampoo, conditioner or lotion. For over 140 euro/night, we expected more amenities in the room. Also, the towels are like sandpaper. Overall, a decent hotel but, for the prices, there are better places in Koblenz.

Review 17:Quaint hotel right on the Rhein River. Short walk to the cable car & Deutsche Eck. Clean rooms, nice size for a family room - 2 separate rooms for parents & kids.

Review 18:The bed was uncomfortable and the sheets extremely rough. The hotel has a run down feel. Breakfast is sparse but adequate. The staff was very brusque and somewhat rude; not welcoming or helpful. We booked a triple room which was actually a double room and a key to open a single room that adjoined; this made us a bit uneasy as the extra bed was for our 4 year old daughter who essentially was in her own bedroom in a room that could be accessed by other people through its own entrance door.

Review 19:The location was very good on the river and close the the cable car and boat docks.

Review 20:no bad experiences

Review 21:excellent location with wonderful view of the Rhine. Staff were very helpful, even moving one of their own cars to enable us to park on site. If we return to Koblenz, we will certainly book this hotel again.

Review 22:While the hotel is served by lifts, there are 6-7 steps from the lift lobby to the rooms. So we had to lug the luggages up the lifts. I didn't think it was right to advertise that there were lifts if travelers still need to go up or down 6-7 steps to reach the rooms. Also, the shower pipe had a crack which they promptly repaired.

Review 23:Great location, good breakfast. The cable car is just steps away.

Review 24:No fan, the room was so hot. I had to pull the matteress off the base and drag it to the open window for a little fresh air. As an early riser, coffee was no option as there were no facilities at all in the room. I had to wait til 8am before breakfast.

Review 25:Great location, bed, breakfast & river view.

Review 26:Railway line across the river carries freight trains all night and is VERY noisy. Small bathroom with no space for your own toiletries. Lift stops halfway between floors, then walk up or down to your level.

Review 27:First class breakfast average evening meal. Good size room (305) with balcony overlooking river, the view is fantastic.

Review 28:The bed was not completely clean. The Wi-Fi did not work completely.

Review 29:The position is really good, a few minutes from the center of Koblenz and 2 minutes from the Deutsches Eck and cable car to the fortress. The price was good.

Review 30:The hotel was right on the river, but not much point when we had the room facing the back (even though there were friver-facing rooms available. The family room was very small, almost cramped. The breakfast was OK, but approaching the bare minimum. In summary, not worth the price paid.

Review 31:Location, right on the river, within 100m of the Deutscher Eck and even closer to cable car. The Altstadt was within 5 mins walking

Review 32:No wifi No reception Breakfast is terrible Low quality Doesn't deserve a 3 stars Price too high or the quality The hotel is currently rennovating so its all a mess

Review 33:No wifi. Well it had but it was down

Review 34:The view makes it a superb location. The hotel had everything you need really. Not the Beverley Wiltshire but good value for money

Review 35:For the people travelling by car the signs indicating the parking are not veasible or clearly direct to the final place.

Review 36:Excellent location, very nice service and really good breakfast. The price/quality ratio is excellent. Hotel really worth recommending.

Review 37:WiFi down for most of stay (3 days) Reception closed by 9pm- unable to get any assistance when returned to hotel later

Review 38:Fantastic location overlooking Rhine Great breakfast in restaurant overlooking river

Review 39:Parking was difficult-we had to back our car into a very tiny spot-had to unload car first.

Review 40:Within steps of Deutsches Ech and Rhine and Mosel Rivers, river cruises, the Ehrenbreitstein Fortress and cable car, old town area.

Review 41:The beds were harder than we're used to and the parking was a bit of an issue.

Review 42:We were very satisfied with the rooms, the location, the staff, the breakfast and the cleanliness.

Review 43:The lift stops between floors, so you either have to walk up or down a half flight of stairs, disabled people please take note. I booked 6 months in advance advising I was disabled and required a reserved parking space, when I arrived they told me they did mot reserve places even for the disabled. They did not reply to my e-mail, they said they get too many e-mails to reply. The room was small and the bathroom very small, too small to swing even a kitten.

Review 44:Lovely location, nice breakfast, and the manager or perhaps the owner carried my bag to my room which was very much appreciated. I would not stay there again because they are not really disabled friendly, but I recommend this place to people who are not disabled.

Review 45:The bedsheets were like rough sandpaper. We asked for them to be changed on the second day but only one normal single sheet materialised. Breakfast was very mediocre. The hotel reviews in the past were over rated. This hotel hadn't changed since the 80's. As 9.00pm the hotel shuts down - everything closed and the only way in to your room is via a back yard. Asked for a view of the Rhein but was placed on the first floor facing a dingy carpark.

Review 46:Location very good. 6 euros to the train station.

Review 47:Very limited car-park space.

Review 48:Approaching from the back of the hotel as guided by Satnav gave a poor first impression, but the Hotel fronts directly on to the Rhine and has a pleasant dining area outside. The manager was most helpful in finding us a car-parking space and in every other way. The room was adequate; we knew it had no aircon so used our own fan to keep cool overnight. Not an exciting view over the car park but we booked late and all river view rooms had gone. Very good breakfast. Excellent value for money but not luxurious. Super location with Cable Car, Deutches Eck, Old Town etc all within easy walking distance

Review 49:Nothing

Review 50:Loved the location on the Rhine river, right on the river walk. We could see the river traffic and the castle on the other side. Location also great with the cable car to the castle a short walk and the boat dock right in front of the hotel. Having a little balcony and open windows to view the Rhine was awesome. Staff very helpful in telling us where to find things in town. Breakfast was good.

Review 51:Doesn't accept pets. Could use updating.

Review 52:Great location

Review 53:No restaurant open on the day we visited.

Review 54:Good bicycle storage room. Great view of Rhine.

Review 70:no wifi- no confortable pillows - no bed sheets - no lights in the stairways by night - price

Review 77:Off hand, curt initial welcome

Review 78:Location overlooking The Rhine

Review 79:No air condition

Review 80:I arrived late for a one night stay-good position for the boat to travel on down the Rhine

Review 81:Wifi is a joke. Food was so-so.

Review 82:Great location, clean well run property. Very popular and handy to all Rhine cruise terminals.

Review 83:Happy crew

Review 84:view of the river, location, food and attention to details in the room.

Review 85:Nice location. Helpful and friendly.

Review 86:The decor is a bit tired and the second bedroom of the family room cramped

Review 87:Excellent location, breakfast was good

Review 88:Location and the attached double room for a family of four

Review 89:Old brown bread served at breakfast !

Review 90:Splendid location, very nice rooms, good beds, friendly staff.

Review 91:The location The friendliness of the staff Large room

Review 92:poor wifi connection at room. in the restaurant it worked.

Review 93:Location was excellent. Parking included. The food at the Hotel Restaurant was also great.

Review 94:Check out time at 10:00 instead of a later time

Review 95:Right down the street from Deutche Eck and the cable car

Review 96:Wifi very bad.Rooms dull and old looking. Book in advance and get a much better hotel at the same rate

Review 97:Breakfast was nice

Review 99:View and it was clean

Review 100:Could use a refurbishing

Review 101:Splendid location along the bank of the Rhine in the center

Review 102:Lack of Parking and noisy trains

Review 103:Breakfast

Review 104:Location . 5 minutes walk to city centre e to pedestrian area

Review 105:AREA AROUND HAD DRINKING AND EATING SELECTIONS. THE BEST TO HOP ON RIVER FOR SHIP TRANSPORT.

Review 106:Free parking was not available, but it was advertised

Review 107:Location, nice breakfast

Review 108:Excellent location. Spacious and clean rooms. Helpful staff.

Review 109:Nothing to complain about.

Review 110:Fantastic location and amazing view from our room.

Review 111:Nothing. All good.

Review 112:Nice room with a balcony overlooking the Rhine. Parking excellent and free. Generous breakfasts included in price. Cable car to castle outside the door and close to everything of interest.

Review 113:Bit away from the hbf, wifi is not strong if you are on the 4th floor, trains run very often but that didn't disturb me,

Review 114:Location, breakfast, free wi fi, close to the pier. good views of the river and the castle

Review 115:Wifi was unreliable, had to walk up steps from elevator to get to room, NO parking. Hotel manager told my husband to park in an area belonging to adjacent hotel.

Review 116:Location on the Rhine would have been more enjoyable had our view not been the back parking lot

Review 117:Though helpful, the staff was a bit aloof and less friendly than other people we encountered on our trip. For example, it took a long time to get beverages at breakfast. We were not successful getting the wifi to work and staff could not help us with this, or were obviously preoccupied with other things.

Review 118:The hotel is located in a picturesque pedestrian walkway overlooking the Rhein. We booked a family room that was four beds in two different rooms and a good value for the money. Room was very quiet and clean. Nice breakfast array with lots of choices. Location was a bit further from the train station that expected, but a cab cost us 7 Euro, which felt like a good deal and we didn't have to bother with the bus or trams.

Review 119:Waited at reception for too long before being greeted. Room was very very small and basic, as was the breakfast offering!

Review 120:Good location and not far from the old town

Review 121:Breakfast Spartan Bathrooms compact

Review 122:Great location on the river Easy walk to centre and to cable car to fort Clean and comfortable Lovely flower clad balconies Parking Efficient staff

Review 123:There is not quite enough parking for all the customers if the Hotel is full; not ideal if you are the last back from a day trip. Otherwise there is nothing to complain about at this price.

Review 124:Terrific location; the slight premium for the Rhine view is worth it. Decent breakfast and well kept if not plush rooms.

Review 125:Their (free) WIFI is a major hassle. It's very slow, you have to sign a release to use it, you have to have 2 logons per person per day to get signed in. Didn't get Rhine view room even though were available.

Review 126:Great breakfast. Great view of the Rhine. Free parking.

Review 127:Noise of goods trains rumbling noisily day and night - though this didn't bother us after the first night. The towelling sheets spoilt sleeping comfort somewhat - were rather rough and hot. In other ways the beds were comfortable. (So these were not major problems and would not prevent our recommending this hotel to others.)

Review 128:The stunning view, interesting and convenient location, friendliness and efficiency of breakfast staff. Great balcony, window and door that could be safely left open for fresh air. Closeness to everything - restaurants, attractions, etc. All in all, an excellent choice of hotel.
