Reviews for Hotel Rural Senderos de Abona

Review 1:it is like a family house... you can hear everything in the room next door... my neighbour snouring....

Review 2:very friendly staff. and cosy stay. perfectly clean and good breakfast. A way from the crowed and nice village. Central location if you have a car.

Review 3:The wi-fi is a bit temperamental and not available in the rooms which is a shame. Noise seemed to travel easily from the next room which could be a problem depending on who is in there!

Review 4:A lovely old Canarian house, full of rustic charm. This is a family run hotel so very homely. The staff were helpful when arranging a taxi to the airport etc. Fantastic breakfasts with a lot of choice and local produce too. There is a beautiful garden too with an inviting plunge pool, when the weather is a little warmer!

Review 5:Although the hotel is very handy for an overnight stop after an evening flight, it's quite difficult to find - especially in the dark. Info on parking would have been useful in advance (ie on the main road by the church) to avoid an unnecessary excursion round narrow streets! Speaking some Spanish was useful as I don't think the staff spoke any English. Also, it might be worth noting that there's no lift, so negotiating large bags up and down the winding stairs could be tricky for some. However these are minor points - overall the hotel is lovely and highly recommended!

Review 6:We received a very friendly and helpful welcome to this lovely old hotel. The building and its gardens were a maze of interesting artifacts and our rooms were comfortable and clean. The evening meal was delicious and breakfast very good too. A great place to stay, just a short drive from the airport so very handy as a first port of call.

Review 7:It was a shame that the Owner could not speak a word of English and there was one small misundertanding because of this which was regretful. Also I waited at the bus stop outside for a long while only to be told by the owner's daughter (who could speak English) that I was at the wrong stop! I think an information sheet in English informing guests where the station is and which number/times of buses to take etc. and tips about say, the 'bono' ticket would have helped enormously. The only other problem was the dividing wall between my room and the next. It was very thin and I could hear the guest next door very easily so I tended to 'tip-toe' around my room, mindful of making no noise!

Review 8:The hotel had a traditional feel and in that regard I did like it. The buffet breakfast was very good as well.

Review 9:Although we requested it, they did't have a room with double bed available. Everything looks a bit old

Review 10:Breakfast was good, rooms are clean

Review 11:An authentic hotel with a soul. Nice gardens/terrasses and very welcoming staff.

Review 12:Location was awful. No bars, restaurants. Wasn't friendly.

Review 13:Lovely hotel. Good breakfast. Friendly staff.

Review 14:Not suited for people with mobility issues. Lots of ups and downs.

Review 15:Everything.

Review 16:Wifi isn't working all the time

Review 17:Hotel and the lovely gardens Very good bed Magnificient and very large room Nice Staff

Review 18:Nothing to not like..

Review 19:Peace and quite. Beautiful location. Breakfast buffet first class. Beautiful room and all the hotel has lots of character. Garden area's were really beautiful. Beach only 20 minutes by bus cheap travel.

Review 20:While the quality of the food in the restaurant on site was fair, it was certainly not gourmet-like.

Review 21:Charming rural hotel with very comfortable beds, high rise ceilings and heated outdoor swimming pool. The hotel is centrally located, very well kept with lots of plants and flowers everywhere and antique furniture to give it a very distinctive trait. Staff deserves a special commendation for their availability, helpfulness and friendliness. Some reviewers have complained about the church bells tolling and while it is true that you can hear them distinctly, there is a very special quality to them: they add to the charm of staying in a small rural town on the hills where life is less frenetic and hours are signified by the the bell's toll. There is even a pattern to the way the bell tolls. We enjoyed our stay here a lot and would recommend it to those who are after a more authentic experience, less globilisation-induced beach-resort like.

Review 22:I could have done without the rooster in the early am.

Review 23:It was very intimate, complete with pet cats, a nice pool and many orange trees to enjoy. Good breakfast selections.

Review 24:The rooms are damp and cold. There is a risk for fire. The restaurant is too full, you can not go freely to the buffet. If you do not have your own transport, you are stuck.

Review 25:The house is special, very romantic, like a dollhouse

Review 26:Closes at 10 pm so best to plan to arrive before then.

Review 27:Tranquil hotel, close to airport. In quiet town (with no tourist attractions but close to many). Good breakfast, good atmosphere, attractive old building with rooms in character

Review 28:Excellent Restaurant, very attractive gardens and patio areas, nice location a little away from the main tourist areas but close enough for easy access by car or bus

Review 29:Bed a little uneven, no safe, no other restaurant in walking distance.

Review 30:Excellent, very friendly and helpful staff, very good food, heated small pool, good location for walking, easy parking.

Review 31:The staff were not friendly. No Internet no tv working left very much toour own devices. Sun beds old one collapsed when I sat on it.

Review 32:Furnisher, quiet, garden. Kittens.

Review 33:Beautiful old building, run by three generations of the same family. Gardens lovely, museum packed full of unsual things. Breakfast had large choices, but no cooked items (eg , eggs). Great coffee, nice people. Nice, small HEATED pool.

Review 34:Nothing!?!

Review 35:Owner operated atmosphere, friendly, clean, with a lovely garden, perfect location half the way between mountains (hiking) and beach life in the south! Orange juice, platanos! Has it's own owner operated small restaurant with sort of personal cooking for the guest! Historical, authentic! Nice garden to hang out and relax, with a small pool! beautiful small church nearby!

Review 36:At some times during the day parking can be difficult.

Review 37:In a very convenient position for Tenerife South airport only twentyminute drive. Situated in a typical Spanish town but the grounds arevery attractive with a small pool to relax by, The restuarante ischarming but the food a little unadventurous.

Review 38:Room number 2 has only 1 very small window that has no view. The room israther damp. Other rooms are better in that respect.

Review 39:Location very good in small village less than 30 min drive from theairport Tenerife Sur Beautiful garden Good restaurant and wonderfulbreakfast buffet

Review 40:Cold in January

Review 41:Near to the coast and the hills.

Review 42:Car essential

Review 43:Lovely old building in a small town away from the coastal party towns. Friendly service, good restaurant. Fast access to airport
