Reviews for Trierer Hof

Review 1:The hotel is next to a buzy street with busses and cars. During the evening and morning rush-hour traffic it can get a bit noisy. Better to get a room on the back side of the hotel if you dleep early in the evening or late in the morning.

Review 2:The hotel is a characteristic 16th century building, although relatively modern on the inside. We were in a very spacious 3 person room with nice view, plenty of room for us and our daughter and a clean bathroom. The breakfast buffet was extensive with good quality food. The hotel facilitates parking in a nearby garage (2 min walk) at a realistic daily rate. It is located in the middle of Koblenz near most sights. Shopping, both good and cheap restaurants & groceries are also nearby (1 min walj). I can really reconmend this hotel.

Review 3:Two months in advance,we had asked for a quiet room, had it been possible. On arrival, we were given room 101 which overlooked the main road and were told that "if you close the window and insert the ear plugs provided, you should get to sleep". We then asked receptionist for a quieter room for the second night and were kindly allocated room 107. For the 1st night in 101, the curtains were in no way up to the job of cutting out the bright street lighting, as there was no black-out curtain lining, however, instead of listening sympathetically to our well-meant suggestions upon departure, the receptionist became relatively uncompromising over the issues raised.

Review 4:Definitely, the breakfast. That was excellent and service in the dining room was too. The rooms were clean and functional, apart from the matter of curtains on the road side and the poor double glazing.

Review 5:The staff on arrival did not make us feel welcome and any advice we asked for was provided reluctantly during our stay

Review 6:We liked the location and breakfast

Review 7:An outstanding little gem, close to shops, Moselle and Rhine and not too far from statio. .Friendly and very helpful staff made this a treat to stay at.

Review 8:I didn't find any negatives; it was a nice place to stay.

Review 9:This hotel was very nice, and even still had a clock in the room. There is a lift. The breakfast is okay, nothing special. There is a coffee maker in the lobby, as well as a computer for guest use. The receptionist even has soda available for purchase!

Review 10:The location is good. Only the old man reception is very hot temper and a bit negative when you ask about how to go to the train station?! The female receptions are good ! I was on the first floor and the breakfast maids started talking loudly when they were preparing food from 6:30 am in the morning! The step between the bath room and the room is so big. You have to take note when you stepped down from bathroom back to your bed! The breakfast food is good!

Review 11:This hotel is ideally placed for the Altstadt, and the rivers Rhine and Moselle. The underground car parking was close-by and you can unload and load your luggage outside the hotel with no difficulty. A very pleasant stay in Koblenz.

Review 12:Some street noise at night as I had to have the window open for coolness. No air-con and it was Summer.

Review 13:HOTEL is a short walk from the Rhein River boat cruises and nice restaurants.

Review 14:The hotel bedrooms do not have air conditioning and as it was 37degrees outside it would definitely have been a plus to have it in the rooms.

Review 15:very convenient location to explore Koblenz. very good welcome and large clean room.

Review 16:Only because of the unusually hot 38¤ outside temperature, the rooms do not have air conditioning.

Review 17:The Trierer Hoff hotel is exactly as advertised. Clean, friendly, great breakfast, central location with free wifi.

Review 18:Rooms facing a very busy road. Nighttime traffic was keeping us from opening the windows. With closed windows, there was no problem though.

Review 19:Friendly staff, nice, sunny breakfast room and very good breakfast

Review 20:Had to sleep with windows closed during a very warm spell because of traffic noise from the street. This was exacerbated by the proximity of traffic lights which seemed to encourage all the drivers to floor the loud pedal when they changed to green. Because of this the fan was a necessity, not a luxury. Triple glazing & a/c in the street side rooms would help.

Review 21:Central location, breakfasts, helpful staff, having a fan in the bedroom, powerful shower.

Review 22:We had stayed here several years ago and had been super comforable in a large room overlooking the back. Our room this time faced the front and was extremely noisy -- they even furnish earplugs -- had limited space for putting anything down, and featured the smallest hotel bathroom I've ever seen. In short, this stay was a disappointment. Will request a back room next time. At €97/night quite overpriced.

Review 23:Regarding room 106, nothing. Staff however was great -- mannerly and very helpful. Breakfast was overwhelming!

Review 24:On street parking for motorcycle approx. 100yds away from Hotel

Review 25:Hotel is very clean and staff are very helpful. It is located an easy walking distance from the Historic town centre and Rivers.

Review 26:A bit noisy when sleeping with window open. Bathroom rather tiny, especially the basin!

Review 27:Extremely friendly and helpful reception staff. Great breakfast with good choice, fresh fruit... Very close to Rhine, old town and new shopping centre.

Review 28:The parking garage was two blocks away and the use of the entrance ticket wasn't exactly "intuitive".

Review 29:Very good location close to most things.

Review 30:The place gave a bit "dusty" feeling. It must have been a while since the rooms and bed were renovated.

Review 31:This is a Place with traditions. The location is OK. Restaurants and shops are close.

Review 32:The location, was short walk to the rivers. Liked the idea of free coffee and water in the foyer of the hotel. It had comfy seats and you could buy wine beer and other drinks off the receptionist and was nice to have a nightcap in the hotel before retiring to bed.

Review 33:If was noisy when the window was open. As we were there during a period of heatwave, although a fan was provided, the cooling of the building was inadequate.

Review 34:The staff were very friendly, polite and helpful. They looked happy in their job.

Review 35:The only cons were that the elevators were far from the room and we had to lug our large suitcases up a short flight of stairs. Also, one of the bedrooms faced a noisy rooftop that didn't help us deal with jet lag. There is no A/C so we had our windows opened. The other room faced the street and had a lovely view.

Review 36:We really enjoyed our stay at the Trierer Hof. Check in was effortless and staff were friendly. We were upgraded to the Family Suite. My kids were in heaven as we saw our rooms and they picked their beds with the gummy bears on the pillow. The room was clean and modern. Parking was conveniently located at the park across the street. The location was close to everything. We only wished we stayed longer.

Review 37:The hotel is on a busy road so it was noisy even at night. It was quite a long walk from the station with cases but there was a bus right outside which we discovered for our return journey!

Review 38:Close to the old town and the river boats.

Review 39:It is possible that, in mid-summer, guests would have to choose between the noise from the street (very loud) or a hot room. We were fortunate that it was never so hot that we regretted having to seal the windows.

Review 40:Super-friendly staff, good coffee and cold water available at all times in the reception area, bowl of sweets on the counter, brilliant choices at breakfast... overall quality high. Good soundproofing with double-glazing.

Review 41:A bit noisy, though the management was extremely helpful, compounded by some noisy construction nearby.

Review 42:The location was great - walking distance from the river-front, old city and city center. Some great restaurants nearby.

Review 43:Booking.com advertised on site hotel parking which we wanted for our motorcycles. When we arrived we were informed that motorcycles could not use the hotel car park but would have to use public facilities instead. In the event this proved safe and secure but had we known this we would not have chosen this particular hotel.

Review 44:Location, location, location.

Review 45:Quite a lot of noise at night, but I was tired enough not to mind! I don't think there was a kettle in the room, but I think there was a drinks machine in the foyer.

Review 46:Very good facilities, and well decorated room. I liked the fact there even was a clock/radio - no longer present in most hotels, but still as good as umpteen unwatched cable channels! Laptop available in the foyer, useful for me as I don't carry too much technology! Great breakfast.

Review 47:We liked the location which was near central attractions. Also the estethic of the dining room and the bedroom. The breakfast was excellent. The staff was polite and efficient. The bathroom was large enough and well equipped.

Review 48:My top floor had no view (just walls and sky) but I was only in it to sleep, so it didn't really matter.

Review 49:Good location near Altstadt, about 20 minutes' walk from main station. Friendly, helpful staff with good English. Comfortable bed, everything very clean. Good breakfast variety & good value for money.

Review 50:Parking at the public car park nearby is bit expensive for 12 euros a day. It seems on street parking next to the hotel is ok for weekends. The bed is making squeaking noise, bit annoying.

Review 51:Location is good. Hotel staff is helpful.

Review 52:No English Chanel on TV. Limited tourist information from staff. Generally directed to tourist office closeby.

Review 53:Clean hotel, comfortable room, amenities. Wi-Fi works in the rooms along with lobby area. Excellent breakfast. Proximity to Rhine and the old city and shopping are.as.

Review 54:staff are less than satisfactorily trained. The receptionist keeps making calls while guests wait to be checked in.

Review 55:location is great. Rooms are comfy.

Review 56:The room was on the top floor at the rear of the building and in the eaves of the roof, the slope of which took up a large part of the room, giving it a claustrophobic feel. The small dormer window in the room looked out at a roof. The curtains were not wide enough to cover the window. i had made a special request for a room overlooking the street, but that was not taken any notice of. The little light above the bed didn't work. The room was very cold when I arrived and when I went to draw the curtains later I discovered the window had been left open and radiator, which was below the window and hidden by the curtains, turned down. The bathroom had a heater on the wall which you had to turn on if you wanted anything other than a freezing bathroom (actually the sink was in the room and only the shower and toilet in .bathroom). But the heater made quite a loud noise as it turned itself on and off once it was activated. The room was booked as a double, but the bed was not very wide and was up against the wall, which would have proved a challenge for two people.

Review 57:Although it was a 20 minute walk from the station, the location for Christmas markets and sightseeing around the old town area was great. I arrived very early but they made my room ready within half an hour. There were no tea of coffee facilities in the room but there were two bottles of water free. There was a good selection of free toiletries, a sewing kit and even some earplugs - did they know the person in the next room snored extremely loudly all night just the other side of the wall and until at least 8.30am! There was no bedside table but there was a ledge above the bedhead to place objects. Good breakfast selection. Wifi was quite good but you could only use one device at a time, so had to log one off to use the other.

Review 58:As said previously, drink making facilities in the room would have been useful but I have not stopped anywhere on the Rhine or Mainz that provides it. However, besides coffee in the lounge, the staff were very willing to get a pot of hot water and tea bags. Breakfast could have had more variety and missing a toaster. No Breakfast Variety Tea bags, only Ceylon, Darjeeling, etc.

Review 59:We came to Koblenz as our mid way stopping point to Passau and to view the Christmas Markets. Excellent location as easy to walk to the Rhine as well. Also easy to get into by car and out again straight across the river and up to the A3. The reception staff were most helpful and spoke good english.

Review 60:There was nothing to fault - except perhaps that we did not stay long enough to sample all the breakfast options!!

Review 61:The hotel facilities were excellent. If travelling in this area again I would definitely stay here and would have no hesitation in recommending it to other travellers. Excellent value for money!

Review 62:Parking lot 150 m from the hotel. No area to stop the car to carry luggage in and out (you have to stop the car in the street). Breakfast tax not related in reservation, which indicated breakfast included.

Review 63:Location. Frontdesk staff.

Review 64:We were spoken to in English and the staff were extremely courteous. We were given lots of advice and help and even got given a speciality Koblenz bottle of wine to wish us bon voyage. The rooms were clean and comfortabe and the breakfasts were plentiful. We will definitely be back.

Review 65:Can't think of anything significant -would return there next time that Koblenz is our Reiseziel. We didn't realise we could have left the train at Stadtmitte -a bit closer to the hotel! The high season finished the day of our arrival, but that may have been an advantage! - apart from shortage of boat trips.

Review 66:My last visit was on a bicycle in 1959! No illusions were destroyed. Memories were greatly enhanced. The location is excellent - both of the city and of the hotel. Good to be close to Forum Confluentes, the two rivers, the theatre, shops and restaurants. Good choice for breakfast. Very comfortable room and bed, with a room temperature so much more congenial than in most hotels. Good sound-proofing.

Review 67:Curtains not quite cover windows letting light on, nylon stretch bed sheet

Review 68:Location, friendly and helpful staff, breakfast, size of room, ease of parking off site with ability to park outside hotel for bag drop

Review 69:Fairly modest hotel with average rooms. I booked this since it advertised private parking; when we arrived we were directed to a public underground car park 200m from the hotel. Our rooms on the third floor were basic for the price. Staff were OK.

Review 70:Location in the centre; breakfast.

Review 71:It was right in the middle of the old part of Koblenz. Walking distance. Breakfeast was excellent. WiFi was free plus they sold drinks in the foyer ie wine beer.

Review 72:It would have been nice to have a coffee maker in the room, but there was complimentary coffee available in the lobby made fresh to order on request.

Review 73:The location was fantastic, walking distance to everything. Taxi from the train station to Trierer Hof was about 7 Euros. Our room was very comfortable and pretty, with plenty of space. Breakfast buffet was included in our room price, it was a great value with good variety of choices. The staff was friendly and warm, truly lovely people. Absolutely loved Trierer Hof!

Review 74:Room was a bit stuffy and bed squeaked.

Review 75:Both managers couldn't do enough for us, they were fantastic-so warm and welcoming. Breakfast was terrific.

Review 76:Good location for old town and river. Lovely breakfast with plenty of choice and good quality ingredients. Friendly and helpful staff especially the gentleman who made enquiries on our behalf when the airline went on strike! Took all the angst out of the situation then went on to sort out train times and taxi. Thank you again.

Review 77:the noise coming from the kitchen as the sky light was open and all the noise was coming out next to our room. Once kitchen closed OK, but started up early for breakfast. The kitchen whizz was the worst noise.

Review 78:closeness to the KD ferry wharf.

Review 79:The hotel is just across from the old town and a few minutes walk from the river. There is a large car park just across the road, and the hotel provides a pass to the underground parking for the duration of your stay. You can pull up outside the hotel door to unload your bags. The breakfast room is very nice a good variety available. Room was comfy with a large bathroom. A very pleasant stay.

Review 80:Our room was at the top of the building, quite small and the bed could only be accessed from one side. Not good for people who are not fairly mobile

Review 81:Ideally situated for the old part of Koblenz and the shopping centre. Only 5 minutes walk away from the Rheine and Mosel rivers.

Review 82:Could not park our motorcycles in the hotel car park. Not sure why. Secure public garage parking was available about a block away and cost €15 for overnight.

Review 83:Location, comfort, value for money.

Review 84:parking is remote from hotel and a little awkward to offload luggage.

Review 85:Hotel lovely. Receptionist was extremely helpful during a moment of luggage crisis. Very professional.

Review 86:nothing

Review 87:Very good location, the staff was really attentive, the room was very clean and comfortable, breakfast was very good and wi-fi was really fast.

Review 88:Great location near the shops, the altstadt, the sights-it could not be better placed. It is just 15 minutes walk from main station too. The staff are so friendly and breakfast is very good.

Review 89:Even though there were noise reducing windows, every time a truck went by during the night, the whole floor vibrated and rattled. And the bathroom was typically small.

Review 90:Location and price

Review 91:Friendly efficient reception Safe area close to the old part of the city Short taxi ride from the Central Railway Station Good breakfast Good value for money

Review 92:Very helpful staff I could leave my bikes overnight in the spare room, I've got discount for the parking place, everything worked fine, good food, I could leave the hotel at 5 in the morning and got lunch packet.

Review 93:No tea/coffee making facilities in bedroom. However the receptionist did boil water for us to have tea when requested. Room was so hot we couldn't sleep, and the street was very noisy. The pillows were uncomfortable.

Review 94:The receptionist was charming. Location of hotel was good for river, shops etc. and the price was very reasonable.

Review 95:- Bed quality. The bed made a lot of noise while turning in sleep. - The bed was crooked and was almost broken - One blanket wasn't big enough for two people

Review 96:Location very close to city center.

Review 97:Good location - short walk to Deutches Eck and the Koenigsbacher Bier Garten. Very helpful staff - let us store our luggage at the hotel after check out. Staff spoke fantastic English when our German wasn't quite up to the job. Nice clean, spacious rooms. Free Wi-Fi. Excellent breakfast buffet with a good choice of food.

Review 98:No A/C room was warm but did provide a fan .paid for Hotspot for wifi first time we had to in Europe .

Review 99:Liked the location ,staff friendly .liked that a restaurant was available at front of hotel and had beautiful food .. Breakfast provided and was lovely .

Review 100:Very nice hotel in a good location in Koblenz. Nice room with no view but on the back of the hotel. This made it very quiet at night with no traffic or church bells in the morning

Review 101:We were provided with a fan in the room but as the weather was very hot, air conditioning would have been appreciated.

Review 102:Staff were very helpful & location is excellent

Review 103:noisy because the hotel location (on a main road in Koblenz)

Review 104:the staffs are very nice and willing to provide helps. they are all generous, friendly, and takable persons :)

Review 105:The close proximity to all the tourist spots also means more traffic noise in the room.

Review 106:A very clean, well maintained hotel, the staff were helpful and charming at all times.the close proximity to all the tourist attractions are a real plus.

Review 107:Nothing to worry about

Review 108:We stayed here after reading good reports. The hotel is positioned right near both the shopping area and the old town (altstadt). it is also just a short walk to the river Mosel and nearby, the famous place where the Mosel and Rhine rivers meet. From here you can take a cable car up to a castle at the top of the hill and get great views over both rivers. You cannot park outside the hotel in the street and I am pleased that I booked a parking space which turned out to be in an underground car park round the corner. Don't forget to get all your luggage out of your car before parking. The hotel give you a card which opens the car park barrier and also let's you go in and out whenever you wish. They then add the cost onto the bill. We had a warm welcome from the lady at reception who we thought might be the owner. They have a lift but no one to help with the luggage. She said in no uncertain terms that "this is only a 3 star hotel" I didn't reply that the other 3 star hotels for the past 7 nights did offer to help. Our room (209) was basic and very clean but only had one window whereas our friends room (211) had 2 windows which brightened up their room. We thought our room was quite dark even in daylight. The bed was comfortable and we slept well once the opera singers had finished next door in the theatre at about 10pm. It was the very noisy from midnight till 2am after Germany won their match. However you are unlikely to have this problem unless you come here during the next couple of weeks and Germany is still winning. Otherwise we thought that the hotel was in an acceptably quiet position. The bathroom had a shower and WC which was OK. Breakfast was really excellent and had everything you could wish for including eggs, fruit, cheese, ham, yoghourts etc etc. You won't leave here hungry. This hotel is fine for a one night stay but I don't think I would want to stay longer than that.

Review 109:Nothing. I would recommend this hotel if you are in Koblenz. It is close to the river and convenient if you would like to take a river cruise.

Review 110:We chose this hotel for its location to the Rhine. It is a short 5-10 minute walk to the river. There is a small square near the hotel that had an assortment of restaurants. The hotel also let us park our car in their lot the day we checked out as we had tickets for an all day cruise down the Rhine. Breakfast was fantastic...there was a huge buffet that provided many choices.

Review 111:Ideally situated as shops, restaurants and local attractions nearby. Breakfast was very good with plenty of choice.

Review 112:Bed was comfy but could have been a little higher for my liking.

Review 113:Easy access to center of town. Nice and close to shops bars and resturants.

Review 114:expensive parking

Review 115:Excellent location and breakfast

Review 116:Rooms were comfortable & warm. Breakfast was really good. Staff helpful.

Review 117:the room is a little noisy

Review 118:good location and breakfast very nice staff

Review 119:Very friendly and helpful staff. My room was small but very clean. Breakfast was a good selection of everything.

Review 120:Excellent location near old town. The room was simple, but clean and shower was great. Good breakfast. Great value overall.

Review 121:Very noisy

Review 122:Location. Good breakfast

Review 123:extremely noisy and hot room, supplied fan was ineffective

Review 124:central location to all landmarks, reception staff

Review 125:Maybe a little too much city traffic sounds

Review 126:No air con, we had two fans but room still like an oven, but it was 30c.

Review 127:Good value stay.

Review 128:Nice 1786 built hotel but nice to stay

Review 129:Locationl
