Reviews for Hotel Sol Azul

Review 1:The music is a bit loud around the pool and the bar.And sometimes there are loud noises from motor bikes(public transport to the hotel) its a little annoying.....(not the Hotels problem though).

Review 2:The owner of the hotel is friendly, understanding, kind and always happy to help.He also speaks 4 to 5 different languages including English which makes it easy to communicate. The food is delicious and affordable for all budget types and the rooms are self contained almost (fridge,TV,toilet and bathroom, air conditioning and a back up fun that can run all night or when there is a power cut). The hotel is at least 60 to 70m away from a place where you can easily get public transport to the nearest city.

Review 3:The location of the hotel is cool enough, 2min to the beach and 10min by car to the city. Also the owner is really nice, give us some advice about where we can go and what we can do ! His staff is nice also. Finally about the room, our was big enough for two with the air conditioner.

Review 4:really nice place, simple but clean rooms-great pool and bar area. local and italia kitchen good price quality, very friendly host ,the beach is walking distance it's a local beach but nice fresh fried fish with plantains for only 5$. Booked for only 1 day wish i cold have stayed longer, coming back next year!!!thanks all staff

Review 5:This is not a hotel. The apartments are located in a local cafe. Pool shared with visitors cafe. Quality cooking is terrible. The house has air conditioning does not work, often disconnected electricity. The local beach is not equipped, no umbrellas, sunbeds, to get to the normal beach expensive and inconvenient. After two days' stay we decided to leave, but they did not back the money to us.

Review 6:- Friendly personal

Review 7:The location is terrible. Staff does not speak English. There were no other foreign tourists except me. The beach is rocky and ugly, and there is nothing to do in the area, except visit Isla Saona, which is not that close anyway. The area is really poor and does not feel safe. Many beggars and stray dogs. Wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

Review 8:There was nothing to like in this place. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. Inside the room, you can see big fat dead cockroaches on the floor. They were there for the last two days I stayed which means no one cleaned the room. I went out and came back and the room exactly the way I left it, messy.

Review 9:Nothing. This is a complete desaster. I meant to stay for a week. But, when I arrived and saw the condition of this place which is damp, and since I am a new country and didn't know where to go, I braced myself and paid for 2 days with meal included with intention to find a new place to go. A new friend took me out looking for a place. I came at round 8:30-9:00pm. When I came back, the little grocery store on the property was closed. I couldn't get anything to eat. There was a small refrigerator in the room. Since I paid for all included, I thought that I might find some sort of refreshment or water in the fridge, it was completely empty. There was no where else I could get even a little water. In the middle in the night, I got so thirsty, to quench my thirst, i got a cup of tap water in the bathroom. In this country, no one drinks water straight from the tap. I could have been sick from this water. The door of the has only on deadbolt lock on it which can only opened with a key. So, if there a fire in the facility and you can't find the key to exit the room, you will like be perished. This is an experience I don't want to repeat or wish on anyone to have. My vacation was ruined going to this place. There's no even a telephone in the room to call for help if one needs help. After the first day, I asked for a refund for the final day and they refused to give it to me and I had to stay for one more day in that place.

Review 10:good location, secure, nice pool, friendly staff and the owner helped me with everthing. I would definatley return!

Review 11:Room in not good condition

Review 12:Owner John helpful and very caindly
