Reviews for Hotel AM MEER & Spa
Review 1:By far the worst experience so far in a 5 week journey through Germany.Originally booked for 2 nights but changed to 1 night as it wasdifficult finding alternates in a foreign country with a foreignlanguage. The original booking messed up by either booking.com or thehotel yet I was made to feel inferior for this mistake! Children aredefinitely not welcome with the pool accessible only for 2 hours (10amto 12pm). Essentially locking parents out too unless you want to justleave your children alone!!!! When queried, the reception staff werenothing short of belligerent and patronising. Bordering on blatant rudediscrimination, perhaps because I was Jewish I began to think for thefirst time in Germany ??!!?? Then when we returned from dinner we foundwe were locked out of our room. Simply because we queried the ridiculouspolicy in restricting access for children (again, perhaps hinting of apolicy for discriminating against anyone not white, German, childless orold???). The saunas were not on during the children's hours either.Avoid this property!!!! By far the worst hotel experience I've everhad. Opt instead for Badehaus Goor which is sublime. In addition. Wifi is similar to the speed of dial up & drops out more than typically experienced with hotel wifi. The bathroom perpetually smelt of sewer and the rooms were far too hot and stuffy.
Review 2:Nothing
Review 3:I found the prices of the massages a little too high.
Review 4:Everathing was very nice, the toilet in the room was a little bit too small, but the rest of the hotel was excellent.
Review 5:Small bathroom.
Review 6:I stayed in the attic single room, which was lovely. The bed and pillows were fabulous and the room was beautifully presented. Hotel location right on the sea was lovely and restaurant was great.
Review 7:I like having a cup of tea several times during day and evening. No hot water kettle available for use, so you have to go to restaurant or spa during open hours, which is inconvenient if you're not dressed
Review 8:Location, breakfast, cleanliness- housekeeping staff very friendly Spa staff excellent No complaints
Review 9:... nice rooms but kind of tight / small. The breakfast is good, but 30 € per person is a little bit much. 25 € would be justiified. 16 € for parking is also a liitle bit much. But also together, the positive sides are much more important.
Review 10:Very friendly, attentive staff in reception, restaurant and bar. Attentive welcome. Good food, good drinks, good recommendatiions. Very nice Spa. Nice rooms ...
Review 11:The only things I'd criticise are that we weren't told that there was a separate charge for parking and that the saunas and steam rooms only opened at 1 pm. I guess that's normal but we only had a chance to properly use the spa area & pool on our departure day and were a bit disappointed that we couldn't try those features. Also, some of the staff weren't entirely comfortable speaking english, which made it a little awkward for my partner whose German is limited to 3 words.
Review 12:The staff at reception was very friendly and even gave us an upgrade on arrival - a great start to our trip. We stayed in one of the split level studios with ocean views. The spa area and gym were well equipped and very clean. The breakfast buffet was delicious with lots of different things to choose from and eggs cooked to order. The location is perfect, directly at the promenade only a few steps from the beach and just around the corner from the main strip.
Review 13:Great location, nice clean room though a little small. Had room with partial sea view down the side of the hotel which was perfect as it got the evening sun.
Review 14:2 Nights a week, DJ below our room. That's why we left one day earlier...
Review 15:Good Breakfast, Nice training-, spa facilities. Nice location in the nicest town of Rugen: Binz.
Review 16:- small Rooms for a so called 4* superior - 230 EUR / night totally overprized - were before in Grandhotel Heiligendamm, that was real luxury for less Money!
Review 17:- Location directly at the beach
Review 18:Water in the pool is quite cold.
Review 19:Spa,rooms,food,staff
Review 20:The Finnish sauna was out of action and we weren't warned about it or offered a discount.
Review 21:Excellent location, good breakfast, comfortable room.
Review 22:lack of comfortable lounge with sofas to relax in.
Review 23:bedroom, breakfast, spa, beach location
Review 24:Tea and coffee making facilities in the room
Review 25:Simply wonderful
Review 26:nothing
Review 27:everything, from breakfast to spa superb fitness room!
Review 28:Stayed during Ironman race at Rugen. Spent wonderful time:)
Review 29:- Room
Review 30:- Restaurant - Breakfast - Spa - Beach
Review 31:Wifi was little bit slow, but in this beatufil place you dont need internet…
Review 32:Everything was fine!
Review 33:Black mould in the shower.
Review 34:Don't worry about ocean view, room at the back gets the sunset! Great staff, fabulous breakfast. Good ala carte.
Review 35:Very hot to sleep upstairs , we had sitting group downstairs
Review 36:The balcony to the sea
Review 37:Rooms are somewhat smaller than normal which, in summer, makes them feel a bit oppressive, even with the balcony window open. Beware, everything is chargeable, especially car parking. The car park is very small (about 20 cars) with an overflow a few minutes' walk away down the street; be preared to drive up what looks like a pedestrian street to get to the main door to drop off any luggage. As usual in Germany, the buffet breakfast is substantial but the layout of the dining room/bar area means there are bottlenecks where you are continually side-stepping other diners on the way to and from the buffet. And on one night, the sound on the only English TV channel stopped working, for no apparent reason. Although one of the receptionists came up to have a look at it, she obviously hadn't a clue and there was no maintenance man on duty at the weekend. Finally, no tea/coffee facilities in the room, a bit of a prerequisite for 4 stars, in my opinion!
Review 38:THe hotel couldn't be better placed - directly across the (pedestrian-only) promenade from the beach, its own Strandcorben available to rent by the day/half-day and only a 5-minute walk to the pier, where most things seem to happen. Very helpful staff were quick to respond to requests, the bed was one of the most comfortable I've slept in at a hotel and the breakfast choice was enormous.
Review 39:Checking in was slow owing to a continuing phone call but thereafter thereceptionist was welcoming.
Review 40:Excellent dining room ambience and great breakfast offering withpleasant service. So handy to all surrounding facilities.
Review 41:We booked in a non smocking hotel, unfortunately on the balcony any onecould smoke, so I paid extra to have a balcony but I was unable to enjoysitting out there, the smoke from the balcony,s in front where allaround us and at night we had to keep the outside door closed becausethe smoke drifted into our room. We had a heatwave while we were thereso sleeping with a closed door was not an option. The smoking reallybothered us. We could not sit on the outside terrace because that wasalso smoking territory.
Review 42:We were directly on the boardwalk. The bathroom very comfortable.Thelocation was the best.
Review 43:Lack of menu in English for the evening restaurant or the apparent un willingness of the staff to meet our specific needs. So we went out to eat every night.
Review 44:Location. Atmosphere of the hotel and immediate area. Breakfast excellent.
Review 45:Very stylish place with direct beach access. Rooms not large, but everything at it`s place, modern technology and recently decorated in good taste. Kind of Long Beach style. Food was good...but no room service and when traveling alone your not always up for dinner in the restaurant. Everyone was friendly and helpful.
Review 46:The service at the hotel restaurant was very slow and disorganised. We had just a main course and dessert. This took two and a half hours which is way to long. Also, the desserts didn't arrive at the same time which resulted in some of us finnished before the others even got theirs. On the plus side, it all tasted delicious.
Review 47:Very modern hotel at a very good location. Clean rooms and nice, helpful staff.
Review 48:Internet access only for 1 devise pro person! The girl at the recepion was rude when I asked for the second internet access to another computer.
Review 49:small rooms
Review 50:Good cocktail at the hotel bar, but very slow since only one bar-man works there.
Review 51:Friendly, helpful and competent staff.
Review 52:Spa, Breakfast
