Reviews for Hotel Baeren

Review 1:Wifi worked only intermittently, which wasn't a big deal for us.

Review 2:Good sized, clean rooms in a nice historic building in a charming town outside of Heidelberg. Staff was friendly and helpful. Easy drive into the city. Would highly recommend.

Review 3:The room was not a family room as I booked. It was a normal single room and took the furniture our to place an extra bed. So no table nor chair. Very Uncomfortable. On top of that the wifi signal was inexistent in the room. .

Review 4:Easy access to tram to Heidelberg city ( 25 mins journey)

Review 5:My room looked out on to the road and was a little noisy at times. Nonetheless it wasn't a real issue for me. Basic facilities, but you get what you pay for!

Review 6:- Very friendly and helpful staff - Wifi connection was excellent - Good breakfast options - Very clean

Review 7:Nothing bad...

Review 8:Nice clean rooms, quiet yet convenient location, excellant friendly staff, good beds, very nice buffet breakfast..in all, a lovely place to stay.

Review 9:Nothing to speak of.

Review 10:Comfortable, friendly hotel in a town at the end of the tram line 23 from Heidelberg - stop is only a few metres away. Always made to feel welcome here.

Review 11:Surprised at no extra pillow (usually common).

Review 12:Restaurant and bier garden attached, were a plus. Clean and modern interior. Easy parking. Good size room and value for money.

Review 13:Breakfast not included

Review 14:Short drive into the city of Heidelberg. But if you don't mind staying a bit outside of the main town this is a great option. Really cute and comfy hotel and the surrounding town is cute.

Review 15:Room very warm,so opened windows at night . Lots of noise from courtyard behind until early hours. Wifi would not connect, even when stood next to router.

Review 16:Good sized room Helpful staff Good breakfast

Review 17:* Limited parking space* First floor Triple room facing main street which at night time can hear people talking on the street clearly

Review 18:* Beds comfortable and supportive* Newly renovated * Nice atmosphere to experience Germany * Historical neighborhood * Simple breakfast yet the quality is very good

Review 19:Not keen on memory foam mattresses generally. Prefer sprung mattresses.

Review 20:Excellent wifi that didn't crash when using Skype

Review 21:The hotel is situated in the city center. Free parking. Big and clean room.

Review 22:so hot in this days without AC. but thia 1666 building is worthy.

Review 23:very good place in this town.an old building

Review 24:The hotel is located close by the nice old town. The tram to Heidelberg stops just a few steps away.

Review 25:no WIFI in room

Review 26:Nothing

Review 27:Have visited previously, but the hotel is still excellent value with very helpful staff.

Review 28:We could not find a German restaurant in the area.

Review 29:The staff very friendly and helpful, tram stop across the street to Heidelberg, we enjoyed our stay.

Review 30:Neither refrigerator nor ice vendor in hotel room or around (it was hot summer).

Review 31:Atmosphere is quite nice. Price is reasonable. It is easy to go Heidelberg center (just by one tram, 20 minutes). I would recommend to take this hotel rather than use twice expensive one in center Heidelberg.

Review 32:My bed was on wheels and moved when I got into it. The decor is slightly dated.

Review 33:The hotel is very close to a tram stop. The room was a good size. Breakfast was also good.

Review 34:Very basic room, old but not charmingly so (though not run down or anything). No minibar/mini fridge.

Review 35:Fairly spacious room for German standards. Free Wi-fi for all (I did not test it). Key lockers so you can check-in at any time. Generally cheap for the areas standards.

Review 36:The internet connection was a bit weak in the room where we werestaying.

Review 37:We stayed two nights over the New Year period. We had wanted a place inHeidelberg, could not find anything that would be reasonably priced andended up at Hotel Bären in the neighbouring town of Leimen. This is anexcellent value for money option for anybody willing to visit Heidelbergand area. The location is great, both away from the main road and a fewseconds walk from a tramway stop that takes you to Heidelberg centre.Parking space is free of charge. Outstanding cleanliness. Good furnitureand bedding. The room we had was quite large. Reasonable breakfast giventhe price. The receptionist was very helpful. The adjacent restaurantwas closed but there are other options, including Hausbrau Leimener, nearby, which we were very pleased with too (good food, good atmosphere, pleasant staff). Very happy of our stay, excellent value for money, heartily recommended.

Review 38:Montag is ruhetag for the own restaurant. Leimeler Brauhaus is a good alternative. Just around the corner. Be sure your car is Umweltfreundlich! Biergarten in the rear so don't book a room at the back when it's summertime!

Review 39:This time of year Oct/Nov is handy for a city visit or countryside. Vineyards around the corner. Nice Breakfast. City to be reached by tramline (20 minute ride; 8€ return). Think of your car as an Umwelt-unfriendly vehicle before entering the Altstadt! Parking space at Hotel. Could be a problem in other seasons when busier. Other Parking space available at no cost between 7pm and 8am (otherwise 50cents€/hr). Funicular ride at the Castle is very nice. Shopping in the Hauptstrasse of Heidelberg is real fun.

Review 40:The restaurant, with 'open door' to the hotel's reception will close early in the evening. Nobody tell's that, door is locked and secured by a stick of a broom! Not friendly, it was raining and we'd to go outside to the night entry. In the restaurant: waitress asked if she may offer a coffee - it's finally on the bill! Offering is something different...

Review 41:Good room, no complaints about that.

Review 42:Hotel didn't provide a small toothpaste and lotion. But it was still ok because I happened to drop by to a grocery in Heidelberg and thought of buying toiletries in case the hotel doesn't provide any. It would be great though if these were also available. When I first entered the room, it was a little warm. But after a while it gets cool.

Review 43:It's few minutes away from Bismarckplatz, Heidelberg. It's also 3 mins walk to the nearest tramway station. The hotel is very basic but I've got everything that I need. The size of the room is good enough for someone who just wants to have a place to sleep after a long and tiring trip to Heidelberg. It is also clean. The breakfast was ok. Not a lot of choices though. Overall, would recommend it to my friends if they happen to go to Heidelberg.

Review 44:The hotel was comfortable and good value for money, convenient for Heidlberg - free parking and with the option of taking public transport into Heidelberg -6 km away

Review 45:Very comfortable hotel with excellent, friendly & helpful staff. Convenient location at the end of tram line 23 from Heidelberg, in the pleasant small town of Leimen.

Review 46:everything just perfect! Good location, don't need car to go to the city- tram line stop is just few metres from hotel street. Time to the city centre - approx. 20 min.

Review 47:Curtains in my bedroom didn't cover the whole window.

Review 48:Comfortable and spacious. Helpful and attentive reception staff. Convenient location being a few metres from the last stop on the number 23 Heidelberg tram.

Review 49:Quite hard to find as is on a very narrow lane.

Review 50:The hotel was a ideal base for visits to nearby places. Close to Heidelburg and much less expensive than hotels there. Off street parking.

Review 51:We arrived at 7:30 ( check in is listed as until 8 pm), to find the place deserted and locked up. I made 5 phone calls to the number on the door but got an answer phone each time. Despite leaving messages, no one rang back. If it had not seen for the very helpful owner of the restraunt next door, I don' t think we would have got in. Someone did turn up to let us into our rooms but there was no apology and no explanation. The hotel is okay for an overnight stay as long as you arrive before the staff leave!

Review 52:Rooms were spacious and clean if a little dated.Good food and friendly service at the adjoining restraunt.

Review 53:In our room the floor of the living room part was about 15 cm higher tnan that of the sleeping room. To prevent us from stumbling over that step when going to the toilet at night, we put a large suitcase on the step between sleeping room and living room as a warning sign.

Review 54:Good connection by tram with the old town of Heidelberg. Tram stops around the corner of the hotel. Hotel is in the center of the suburb Leimen of Heidelsberg. Restaurants in the hotel and within 100 meters.

Review 55:Most rooms are different and the nice ones are used as the photo's on this site....We did not get these rooms...But what we got was OK..:)

Review 56:This hotel was very easy to find and right in the town centre. Very clean and nice staff. It was a nice stop over on our way to Prague. Basic room but for the price very good. Was very happy with our stay

Review 73:Clean. Easy to locate. Not far from Heidelberg (approx 10 mins drive).

Review 74:Clean and comfortable, restaurant alongside with good food. Town centre location with parking. Market in square behind hotel.

Review 75:Nice hotel in a reasonably nice town. Great value for money - provided everything one would expect; comfortable and clean and a good breakfast.

Review 76:Good location with easy access to public transport. Very basic: not really value for money compared to other hotels stayed in on our trip.

Review 77:Poor breakfast.

Review 78:Located in a charming city, between Frankfurt and Stuttgard.

Review 79:Good price and close enough to the castle.
