Reviews for Hotel Rural Real de Poqueira
Review 1:Beautifully modelled hotel. Decor great. Location ideal. Handy bars and restaurants just in the courtyard. Lots of free tapas with every drink. Stunning views of the mountains. In a quaint old village.
Review 2:Nothing.
Review 3:A very nice hotel in a wonderful little mountain town. Very helpful front desk, cosy and clean rooms and delicious spanish continental breakfast. A lot if nice hikingtrails in the area. I would visit this hotel again, any time.
Review 4:We were very annoyed to be asked for €2 for a boiled egg each for our breakfast. The cost of b & b should have covered it.
Review 5:Lovely hotel in great location
Review 6:We did have a problem finding the hotel but local residents were very helpful in guiding us.
Review 7:A very comfortable, bright and nicely presented hotel in a gorgeous village. Our room was perfectly clean and very comfortable, equipped with all necessities. We were able to park our car only a short walk from the hotel which is located right in the square near the church. Breakfast was simple but nicely done and adequate. We were very happy with our booking and would recommend this hotel.
Review 8:The hotel has a modern, pleasing design. It is centrally located in this small village a few interesting shops and access to trails in the Sierra Nevada. It is fun to walk down to the other 2 nearby villages - Bubion and Pampileira.
Review 9:Breakfast was a little sparse.
Review 10:Great location in the beautiful Alpujarra village of Capileira. Staff very friendly and helpful. Room was very comfortable, with nicely appointed en suite bathroom. Surprise was the pleasant swimming pool area, great to relax around after a long day mountain walking. Capileira is a great location for mountain walking/hiking/climbing and the hotel is conveniently located near the minibus stop to the high Sierra Nevada.
Review 11:Mold in my bathroom plumbing. Inadequate ventilation.
Review 12:I am hypersensitive to mold... Staff was wonderful, great room and view. But There was as strong smell as nd presence of mold in my room (202). I minimized my time in there s nd kept the door closed, Did not shower or take a bath, too much mold exposure. They need to do mold remediation in this room, and possibly improve venti k action throughout the building. I liked The staff, but could not tolerate room 202 again. Would stay elsewhere next time, because I am hyper-sensitive to mold.
Review 13:Breakfast was not served until 9 a.m. so if you are walkers like us, this is not the place for you (although breakfast could be left out for you the night before, but there are limitations to this ). Also half-board was an extra 17.5 Euros per person, but the meal given was exactly the same as the 10 Euro menu of the day displayed on the board, so B&B the way to go.
Review 14:Breakfast was excellent. Enjoyed the gardens and swimming pool too.
Review 15:Is just a small complaint .In our room we couldn't store our clothes on the shelf in the wardrobe because it was very dusty /dirty,which really surprised us considering the overall cleanliness of the Hotel was fantastic.
Review 16:The location is fantastic in the centre of the small town. The staff excellent, very efficient and friendly. The style and comfort brilliant. We stayed 3 days over a long weekend and we had a fantastic time visiting the surrounding villages of La Alpujarres.
Review 17:Nothing really, although the bed was very firm, and the towels didn't dry very well.
Review 18:Great location in village high up in Sierra Nevada. Friendly, helpful staff.
Review 19:Shower water wasn't very hot. Shower head drooped and had to be propped up by hand. Bed was very hard. Breakfast was good but very limited. Hotel is hard to find initially and needs better signposting.
Review 20:Friendly staff. Nice modern room.
Review 21:The swimming pool was empty and out of action and the gardens as yet un kept.
Review 22:The rooms, the staff, breakfast. flexibility of the hotel (we had to leave a day early because of unforseen circumstances) no penalty.
Review 23:There was nowhere tosit outside we picked this hotel because it had a pool and gardens they were disgusting very overgrown and dirty and the pool was green and extremely dirt!! Was surprised they actueally direct people to this area!!
Review 24:Staff very friendly beautiful rooms
Review 25:Restaurant should of had a log fire.and some carpets in the rooms as floors were cold. It was winter though
Review 26:staff very helpful and friendly could not do enough to help .
Review 27:Would have preferred an electric kettle for making tea in the room.
Review 28:Staff were very polite and friendly. We met 3 ladies during our stay and they were all really helpful. Helping us fill our bottles with hot water and answering any questions we may have. Highly reccommend! Wifi was not very good though but may due to us being in the mountains. We woke up to views of the mountains. Beautiful!
Review 29:The pool was a let down, so don't rely on it but I was there late September, so I didn't need to use it. The only other point I hated was leaving and coming home.
Review 30:Great staff welcomed us to this super hotel in the best location. The rooms were really clean and the hotel was well appointed. The views were fantastic, locals very friendly and the food - heck I need to go on a major diet. Don't hesitate to book, its great
Review 31:If I'm being really picky the shower head in room 110 needs securing better.
Review 32:Location superb. Very comfortable and clean. Excellent wifi. Friendly, cheerful and very caring staff who do a wonderful job -particularly at breakfast. Very good value. Close to an excellent choice of restaurants.
Review 33:the hotel was not was I was expecting but in such a good way. Capiliera is a small typical village in the mountains in Spain and the hotel was so lovely and unexpected. We checked in in the late afternoon and went to relax by the pool for a few hours in the afternoon - the setting is beautiful and the quiet. We wandered around the village that night and I had breakfast in the hotel the next morning it was delicious and plenty of choice. The staff were all so friendly and helpful - I would defo stay here again and recommend this hotel!
Review 34:It was a bit inconvenient to have to request a new wifi code every day - to have one for the whole duration would be helpful - especially if coming back late and no-one's in reception to give you another code. Also reception lacked information about local events/things to do in English.
Review 35:Very comfy bed, room cleaned very day, lovely pool surrounded by cherry and chestnut trees.
Review 36:The car parking, not only is there no Hotel car park, due to the popularity of the village with hikers, day trippers etc it is exceedingly difficult to park near the Hotel. Whilst there is a small square outside the main entrance, five of the cars we saw there when we arrived had not moved by the time we left (3 days). The Dinning area for dinner is a restaurant/bar almost attached to the hotel located on the corner of the street you arrive in. It is basic, do not expect anything resembling sophistication/al la carte but then do not expect it anywhere else in Capiliera either.......
Review 37:The reception, room, lift and general areas were all clean, tidy and modern in appearance. The wifi was good but you have to have a new password each day. The staff were the most friendliest in the whole village and I personally believe thought full as whilst our room did not have a view, it was the furthest from the public car park where the village was holding its fiesta.... The main part finishing at just after 8am Sunday morning, we were eternally grateful upon waking refreshed and seeing several slightly jaded looking persons at breakfast...... Breakfast itself is no big deal but then we only ever use it as a convenience, the staff again were friendly and accommodating, supplying just hot water and milk for the morning cuppa, we supplied the t bags. Breakfast is held in a different area to Dinner.
Review 38:The staff were super helpful and polite. The room was immaculate and the wifi was excellent. The breakfast is also top notch and the coffee was really good. Overall this is a super hotel. We did not have a view but it was excellent value for money. I would definitely return.
Review 39:The main problem was the extremely poor internet connection throughoutthe hotel (not just dependent on the room apparently). Since we neededinternet to plan the rest of our trip, this was extremely annoying. Ahotel that tries hard to be smart should sort out their internetconnection. Or at least not advertise it as coming with the room.We also found that the first room we were offered had a strong smell of sewage. We changed to a different room (only other available) that had tiny windows so we could hardly get any day light in the room. Despite these issues, the hotel offered no apology or discount. That said, the price we paid per night was not high (60 euros).
Review 40:Overall clean and modern hotel
Review 41:Rubbish wifi policy (one connection only; requires re-registration every 24 hours with new ticket from reception - not good if reception closed; slow speed). Beds too short and so-so quality. Breakfast starts only at 9 (but goes onto 11.30!) Choice of double bed or good view, not both... Could be a noisy location in high season.
Review 42:Beautiful town Friendly staff High quality refurbishment Good pool Nice cakes at breakfast!
Review 43:Fantastic area for short or long walks. Good variety of restaurants within walking distance. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Although description says only four parkiing spaces there was ample parking very nearby.
Review 44:No negatives
Review 45:Very nice accommodations for an out-of-the-way place. Both the town of Capileira and the Rural Poqueira Hotel were good finds.
Review 46:STAFF ATTITUDE, COMFORT. VERY SPACEOUS ROOM
Review 47:Breakfast was not great but ok. Too little food.
Review 48:Great staff, nice room, nice location.
Review 49:Inside room. Would have preferred a view.
Review 50:The reception staff were excellent. Location wonderful.
Review 51:Exceptionally helpful staff on reception and a simple and spacious room with a lovely view.
Review 52:The hotel charge an extra for a baby crib. this is the only hotel in our trip that charge for it
Review 53:Stubbed toe on corner of bed.
Review 54:hotel in centre of beautiful village with pool.
Review 55:Lovely hotel, well decorated, friendly and helpful staff. Pool clean but rather cold.
Review 56:Having the use of the pool and shady garden was a real advantage in the hot Summer. Staff were very friendly and helpful at all times.
Review 57:Horrible beds - way too hard. Too thick and hard pillows
Review 58:Good quality on everything else. Friendly staff.
Review 59:Showers could have been a bit warmer.
Review 60:It was excallent. No complaints at all.
Review 61:Helpful and friendly staff, clean and comfortable room with air conditioning and pool. Nice breakfast.
Review 62:Everything.
Review 63:Nothing
Review 64:Very friendly
Review 65:Outside areas scruffy
Review 66:location, service quality of the bed.
Review 67:Breakfast not included - pool was not open(read other comments : recurrent problem(or tourist trap?)
Review 68:Location; clean rooms
Review 69:Very slow internet, swimming pool not open.
Review 70:Lovely staff, great location, nice room.
Review 71:Friendly and helpful staff, modern decor in traditional building. Amazing location for walking, great restaurants on your doorstep.
Review 72:comfortable room very nicely decorated, super friendly and helpful staff, great breakfast
Review 73:Clean, smart room and a warm welcome. Good breakfast.
Review 74:bad wifi connection
Review 75:clean, nice terrace
Review 76:Surprised by how good hotel was for the money.
Review 77:Hard madras in the bed.
Review 78:Staff, svimmingpool, breakfast.
Review 79:Errr?
Review 80:Friendly, helpful staff Fantastic value for money
Review 81:Whilst the room was nice and modern, there was not enough surface space to put things down. Also, the double bed was hard and uncomfortable.
Review 82:Modern finishings in hotel and rooms. Friendly staff. Well located. Breakfasts OK. Good view from our room.
Review 83:Lovely hotel in great location, we used it as the stepping stone to walk in the Sierra Nevada, but Capileira itself is worth a visit, a pueblo with great views and wonderful flowers adorning the houses. This hotel, in the center of the village, is the place to stay.
Review 84:Nothing! All really good.
Review 85:helpful, friendly staff ready at the check- in with map of The village to orient me immediately..and tourist walking guides Of the area available on the check-in desk to consult if of interest. Dorothy, Arnprior, Canada Incomparable view from bedroom Window .
Review 86:the TV was super small for the room size - we never switched it on but decided to mention it in case there's a traveler wondering about it. There was not much going on in the village - maybe because it was off season. We found only one working restaurant and that was at the very same plaza the hotel is located at.
Review 87:We simply loved this hotel! It was new, comfortable, very lean, the lady at the reception was very nice and friendly... We even managed to find a parking spot at the hotel (beware in season though - it's a small plaza in front of the hotel and the church and there is room for exactly 4 cars). Since we were travelin back the next ay (we stayed only 1 night) - we took also breakfast. Didn;t expect much - but it was wonderful. It was not buffet but we got a very big breakfast - bread, jamon, cheese, juice, butter and jam, fruits, coffee (they had espresso!) - nothing too special but absolutely enough and tasty for a quick breakfast before you hit the road.
Review 88:Everything is great except what to us is the most important thing: the beds and pillows. Impossible to sleep for more than three or four hours. Small, uncomfortable beds and awful pillows.
Review 89:The location is great; the hotel facilities and service are excellent.
Review 90:Very narrow streets in the village due to the location on a steep mountain slope. You should be aware of the driving conditions in the mountainous region!
Review 91:New tidy hotel. Spacious modern room. Good TV and WiFi. Great view. Friendly English speaking staff.
Review 92:Internet was VERY slow
Review 93:Great new hotel. Very clean and comfortable. Great view. Great location - close to restaurants and walking trails. Capileira is a fantastic village
Review 94:We were a bit tall for the bed! Our feet went off the end. We seemed a bit tall for Andulucia in general...
Review 95:The staff were so friendly and helpful. We arrived on 1st. November which turned out to the annual Chestnut Festival. We had no idea but were soon informed of where to be and when. They were booked full because of the festival and apologised for putting us in a room with 2 singles when we had requested a double. When I explained it was our honeymoon we were promptly given a double. The breakfasts were generous and delicious. On our last morning we had to leave very early to get the bus into Granada and our breakfast was laid out ready for us with coffee and hot milk in Thermos flasks and the toasted bread securely wrapped in foil. Quite above and beyond! They were very helpful about finding places to eat in Capileira. The hotel is fitted in a very modern fashion and was a pleasant and welcoming place, well set in the middle of the village. The garden area was also very pleasant and there is an outdoor swimming pool.
Review 96:Staff helpful, area amazing, fantastic restaurants/cafés nearby, brilliant views from room, village is welcoming. Room was a good size, very clean and comfortable. good range of walks from Capileira.
Review 97:I would appreciate some extra equipment in the room, the kettle and cupswould be nice, the trash bin is ridiculously small and the wifi was notreally reliable. But otherwise its really nice place to stay.
Review 98:Hotel is located in the very centre of the village, the staff is veryfriendly and hotel is clean and quiet. The garden and pool are verynice. And you can park your car for free in the parking lot located veryclose to the hotel.
Review 99:the blanket was not warm enough for the cool nights, there was no foot-cloth in the bathroom
Review 100:perfect location in perfect area, very clean and comfortable, good breakfast, helpfull staff
Review 101:The staff were very friendly and helpful. They set aside a breakfast for us early on our morning of departure. Hotel is in immaculate condition.
Review 102:Late breakfast, 9. o'clock.
Review 103:New and fresh looking hotel (inside), loved the service of the staff, loved the room (Relaxing and Nice), loved the breakfas I was served, (all delicate and even homebaked sweetcake).
Review 104:Nada
Review 105:Staff really helpful, room spacious with 2 balconies, great mountain views. Capileira is stunning with good bars and restaurants. Great walking and sightseeing area.
Review 106:No mini fridge to keep my wine cold :)
Review 107:Great hotel located in a beautiful mountain village. It has lovely views and an excellent breakfast. Parking easy to find and is free (there is a day lot about a 5 minute walk from the hotel).
Review 108:Got a little bored with same breakfast each day. Bells from nearby church were a bit annoying when I laid with fever :) But these are really minor issues!
Review 109:Great place to try hiking mulhacen & veleta, although a car is very handy. Hotel looked quite modern inside, everything was super clean on arrival. Stuff at reception speaks enough English that you can communicate comfortably. Big free parking very near. Ask stuff if you missed it when entering the village. Good food in the neighbourhood. The young lady at the reception seemed exceptionally caring.
Review 110:Wasn't prepared for the cool evenings in the middle of summer. Take a coat!
Review 111:A superb location right in the centre, next to the church. A beautiful old building renovated sympathetically with a modern twist. Staff very friendly and helpful. Free wi fi a bonus. Bedroom and bathroom both ver comfortable and well equipped. Gardens and pool a real bonus. Good breakfast.
Review 112:Very good location in the middle of the village. The room was very nice and quite large. Moreover I think Capileira was the top choice of the Alpujarran villages.
Review 113:The Hotel has recently been renovated. Everything is brand new. The Hotel has ist own style which is simple, rural, modern and elegant. It is a very nice atmosphere to stay there. It is very calm. The Hotel is adjacent to a Little square with a Restaurant and a small church, very cute! I had dinner in the Hotel's Restaurant almost every evening. The Food is very good and the Prices are reasonable, Portion size is ok). Breakfast is also good, you'll get a Baguette with a Special tomato Sauce, local cheese und ham, orange Juice, tee/coffee, cake and fruit. The village of Capileira is the perfect place to start you trip to Mulhacen or Alcazaba or Pico del Veleta (better from Prado Llano). Granada ist about 90 Minutes away by car. You should visit Granada on 2-3 days because there is much to see.
Review 114:Everything had been perfect until 11:30pm of my last night when I waslying in bed happily dozing off, when I was rudely awakened by loudnoises from people talking in the hallway outside my door, and slammingdoors. Two couples had just checked in at that late hour and were makingthe most racket they could!!! After five minutes of this, I heard themleave. Quiet resumed...But then at 12:30am, these rude ignorant peoplereturned once more (guess they had gone out to eat/drink) and therewas more very loud talking and door slamming, etc...and at 12:45pm,there was a very loud knocking at one of their doors (staff on duty!)who had come up to give them something/tell them something...whichtotally pushed me over the edge. Could not believe the ignorance andrudeness and inconsideration. Totally spoiled my peaceful two days. Thehotel was empty except for me prior to arrival of this rude lot; thereare 19 rooms in this place...WHY Would staff put late comers...at11:30pm...right across the hallway from another guest when there isanother floor they could have been placed on...and a whole other wing tothe place, far away from my room!!!! I could not get to sleep untilafter 2am, I was so distressed. Very disappointed with the ending of mystay. Hope management sees this review and trains staff differently. These latecomers should have been told to be quiet and not disturb otherguests, as a minimum!!!!
Review 115:This new (Oct. 2012 it opened) hotel built into an old original hugefamily home is totally beautiful and amazing. Lovely open main floorwith reception, sitting lounge, retaurant area, bar. My room wasamazing, with a view to snow-capped mountains and narrow laneways. Hadthe two most amazing meals of my two weeks in Spain here. I was notexpecting such quality, taste, presentation, and so cheap...only 11Euros for 2 courses and salad. Very impressed...would have stayed justfor the meals!!! And this wee town...last on the road in themountainside is wonderful to roam around. There were lots of'community' cats also roaming around which I fed the two days Iwas there. Please buy a bag of cat food and spread it in hidden placesfor the cats if you go! AND...this quaint hotel also have a huge opengarden area with tables/chairs to relax; and a swimming pool!!!Totally amazing place.
Review 116:The restaurant part of the hotel was a bit cold in temperature and atmosphere. I will certainly recommend the hotel for the good qualities. Staffs ambitions compensate for some lack of skill in english.
Review 117:A new, modern style and comfortable hotel in a renovated old house.Very friendly and helpful staff, the only but is, that they do not speak english so well. On the other hand, if you know just a little spanish, that will do, since they do all efforts to understand, with the internet f.ex. The hotel is ultra clean with exelent beds. They have a restaurant with high quality breakfast. A menu with a lot of interesting choices. I made trips around the village, so I only tried breakfast. The hotel is in the center of the village at a very calm square. The whole village is a treasure. So beautiful and romantic. It is so wellkept in the old original style of a white village with berberian influence. The view from my window was great. I highly rekommend the hotel.
Review 118:Access road inaccessible in snow - it gets blocked/closed.
Review 119:Amazing location in mountain village. Hotel was warm and comfortablewith everything new, clean and functioning. The best hotel of the weekby a long way.
Review 120:Excellent location, plenty of restaurants nearby staff very friendly and helpful, the room was excellent, large, all facilities, very modern and with spectacular views. Faultless.
Review 121:loved this place
Review 122:a class hotel in a lovely village breakfast was superb and very reasonable price
Review 123:Staff was very helpful in recommending places to eat.
Review 124:Small room, no table, no fridge.
Review 125:Nice and friendly staff.
