Reviews for Spa Hotel Laine

Review 1:Nothing really, spa was trash and boring, hotel room was small and beds were trash aswell. Bathroom had somekind of worms and overall the hotel looked like somekind of old people hospital

Review 2:In august, the city is full of spiders. I had no problems with them but my girlfriend wasn't too pleased. Obviously, this was not the hotel's fault and the staff did what they could.

Review 3:OK hotel, nice location, OK breakfast..

Review 4:It presents as a bit like a hospital but we have no previous experience with spa hotels so it may be the usual.

Review 5:The pool was excellent as were the changing rooms; a short walk to the promenade; a great little restaurant & into town. There is a shared refrigerator on each floor.

Review 6:This is a SPA hotel, but no products at all was in the room. I finally found soap in the cupboard in the bathroom, but that was it. I would have expected at least some small samples of shower cream etc. The staff did not do more than they had to. You could get a hello once in a while :) The y did not make your bed or change towels during the stay. The jacuzzi closed at 22 so we did not have time to use it, and the breakfast was quite poor to. Rock hard bread, but at least they had toast. So in my opinion, this hotel is quite over prized. My room was facing the back, so I did not have the beautiful view like the front rooms, so ask for one of those if you go there!

Review 7:This hotel is OK but not more. You get a feeling of being in a Russian old asylum. The room was quite adequate but really nothing fancy.

Review 8:- No fridge in the room (the fridge is in the hall as in hospitals) - Small parking - Smell of chlorine due to the spa centre

Review 9:- Location - Tidiness - Great choice of food in breakfast

Review 10:The room is old and too simple. No wifi. No fridge in the room. 99% of guests are pensioners.

Review 11:Good location at the seashaw but just 10 min walking to the city centre. Small but nice spa. Generous breakfeast.

Review 12:Little details like when you open the door to you room and can't find the switch to turn on the ligths, because it is hidden behind the bathroom door that is wide open for no apparent reason. Or that there is no electric outlet near the table to charge the laptop or near the bed to charge your phone (so I had to leave my laptop and phone on a small chair near the window). Or such elementary hospitality issues like the booklet about hotel serviced being hidden on the lowest shelf under the bible and songbook. Or that there is no wireless in your room, because you room happens to be "around the corner". Omg, wifi isn't magic, just install another router!

Review 13:The view from the window is superb. Quiet, relaxed place.

Review 14:Very strong smell of mould in our room (and also in the room we were given instead). Rooms were not clean. Very expensive in relation to standard. Not worth the high price. We decided to change to another hotel.

Review 15:The hotel staff was very helpful and friendly and without discussions agreed to give our money back when we decided to leave the hotel. Spa facility in the hotel.

Review 16:Breakfast was'nt good: e.g. cold fish dishes and jogurt was served warm. Only one person working in the reception - a long queue...

Review 17:Excellent locatian very close to town centre and sea. Lovely view to the sea from our room. Spa and sauna area recently repaired with nice materials.

Review 18:No wifi in most rooms, rather unusual for a hotel of this standard.

Review 19:Breakfast was good with a broad healthy variety. A lot of massage treatments available.

Review 20:Stuff wasn't polite. Room was smelling really bad. Wanted to change a room, but other room was smelling even worse. Had to wait for a hot water to come really long. No double bed. TV wasn't working fine. Picture was always moving and was not clear. Not the best place to be if You are young travelers.

Review 21:Breakfast was good. Pool and Sauna was ok. Turkish bath was out of order.

Review 22:Spa could be better.

Review 23:Location, nice views.

Review 24:One of the workers was rather rude to me whilst I was looking for the sauna.

Review 25:I liked the view on to the sea.

Review 26:spokój, blisko do centrum,

Review 27:When I arrived there where a lot of spiders in my room.

Review 28:Staff was great! And the food in the restaurant and morning buffet was exxellent!

Review 29:Good location, great view from room, excellent pool.

Review 30:Extremely polite and accommodating personnel.

Review 31:Breakfast was a disappointment! Spoiled food and poor quality drinks. Value for money is really low.

Review 32:The location is really nice!

Review 33:Hieno sijainti meren äärellä.Hinta laatusuhde kohdallaan.

Review 34:Tuba oli väga ilus, korras, puhas.

Review 35:The room was in bad condition - generally

Review 36:Location

Review 37:Old heating element kind of sizzled all throughout the night.

Review 38:Amazing view and location kind of compensates for some of the deprecated interior.

Review 39:Nice view from the window.

Review 40:Would be nicer if greeted with smile in the reception!

Review 41:Good for bird-watching! Nice spa.

Review 42:Väga sõbralikud ja rõõmsameelsed teenindajad!

Review 43:spa area, rich healthy choice of breakfast

Review 44:Not hotel's fault exactly, but very hot in south facing room as it was a very hot, sunny week.

Review 45:Quiet, sympathetic place, nice for whole family. Very flexible service.

Review 46:Hotel could use some refreshing. Missed the hairdrier.

Review 47:Breakfast, small, but clean room, seawiew.

Review 48:Everything poor this hotel

Review 49:Wery bad hotel!

Review 50:Breakfast wasn't very good. Though a choice was pretty large.

Review 51:The clean pool, sauna and the view.

Review 52:Breakfast - choice of fruit poor.

Review 53:Location - near to centre and sea. Breakfast - rich choice.

Review 54:Booked a standard room. Was a mistake. The room was gloomy, smelly, hospital-like and untidy. Breakfast was the worst I've had for a long time: very simple and hardly any genuinely healthy options available. Would not recommend to any individual travelers who would like a nice and private stay in Haapsalu.

Review 55:Superior room was decent enough to stay in and resembled a hotel room with its facilities and furbishment. Location is close to town center.

Review 56:Extremely soft bed, no aircon, cheap plastic shower in so bad condition that you can't wash normally, very small room, no electric sockets near the bed and near the table (only on the opposite side of the room).

Review 57:Perfect location close to the Haapsalu centre, view on the water. Spa is fine. There is one small hammam, one small sauna and a swimming pool there. Though the swimming pool is pretty small (you can't really swim there, no separate lanes).

Review 58:-Building need to be refreshed a little bit. -Air conditioning only available in superior room. -No "net" in the windows (which would particularly be of interest for the room with no AC (had to kill 4 spiders hanging in the window) -When window is open, the opening at the bottom are to big, a baby could potentially go trough. -the bed sheets, for the mattress one, please use the one with elastic for the contour, if we move just a little bit we end-up on the mattress that is not so clean.. -Pool and Sauna unavailable in morning / early afternoon.

Review 59:Quiet place Nice sunset Room view (on the lake side)

Review 60:The breakfast was bland and did not include much for a vegetarian. The decor was a bit old fashioned , cold like a hospital, except the room. Sometimes I felt I was in a hospital...The key system could be updated. I forgot to lock the room all the time because I am used to self locking hotel doors with a card key.

Review 61:I liked the location, the room was very good. Friendly reception, spoke English, Finnish, the massage and mud treatment were good and reasonable priced. Very quiet and peaceful. Nice to walk around and one felt very safe. Good parking. Good view.Nice to use music while massaging. I would use the hotel again.

Review 62:We had chosen a quite expensive room with air condition - it was very warm outside and we didn't want to take any chances. But the air conditioner was making such noise that it was impossible to sleep! One more thing that bothered us was number of spiders in the room - sign of poor cleaning.

Review 63:Location was very good with seaview. Breakfast was quite ok.

Review 64:Reception, corridors and shower/ toilet facilities were poor compared to price. Reminds us some kind of institute(Hostel) accommodation, not a relatively expensive hotel. Room was out of air condition.

Review 65:Spa was nice and the place is basicly very good for relaxation. Breakfast was very good and the bartender in the bar was nice. Also the cleaning ladies were polite.

Review 66:Ala carte food was quite bad. If you have working legs or car go to town or anywhere else. Breakfast was ok. We did not use spa treatments.

Review 67:Nature around hotel.

Review 68:Everything. The room was spartan and shouted eastern european when youwalked in it. No closet or anything for that matter. Thank heavens itwas only one night.

Review 69:Ummm, nothing really. The soup at dinner time was outstanding.

Review 70:Not what i expected. Room "mini suite" was ridiculously tiny and with a weird layout concerning toilet and bathroom. Bed was a bit tired and lopsided, but generally ok. Didn't try the breakfast. But by far the most absurd thing about the place was that "SPA hotel Laine" had no spa, sauna or even a pool! Just small cramped rooms.

Review 71:In front of the house is very peaceful seaside area, with benches and other sitting areas. Haapsalu promenade is very close by and central city also nearby.

Review 72:The pool wasn't open and we were unable to book a last minute mud spa. These need to be booked in advance. We arrived by bus and the hotel is quite a distance from the bus stop and requires a taxi.

Review 73:The location was outstanding - our room had views over the lake and with the sun glistening on the water it was really beautiful. The restaurant provided a wonder dinner at a lowish cost and the breakfast was outstanding with every variety of fish, meat, cheese, cereal and juices. Hire bikes were available and the environment was perfect for a leisurely ride.

Review 74:Many things, unfortunately. First, policy to pay for the room up frontis a shock for a hotel that advertises itself as an upscale spa resorthotel. Second, that the hotel management decided to renovate theswimming pool and sauna at the height of the tourist season instead ofdoing it in low season. Third, that there was no forewarning of thisfact on their website. Fourth, that the breakfast was the worst I havehad in Estonia since the dark days of the Soviet occupation.

Review 75:Helpful reception staff, panoramic view from dining room to waterfront.

Review 76:We were not expecting entertainment in the restaurant area, but twoevenings out of three, there were musical performances going on. Wewould have preferred just a quiet dinner without the distraction, butif you like a bit of entertainment while eating, then it could beyour thing.

Review 77:Great location near the centre of Haapsalu and overlooking the sea. Wehad a superior twin room, which was worth the extra, as it is in thepart of the building away from the rest of the rooms, so quieter andmore like a proper hotel in feel. (The corridors in the other part ofthe building feel rather institutional.) The facilities in the hotel aregood but will be better once the pool area has been renovated in Summer2012. Nothing wrong with it now, just a bit tired. The fact that thepool and sauna were very underused by most of the residents was greatfor us, so we had these to ourselves for most of the time. Wide choicefor breakfast and good, affordable a la carte meals in the restaurant.Free wifi everywhere and free internet in the bar area. Conveniencestore in the reception area was very useful and cheap too.

Review 78:Good Spa part and breakfast.

Review 79:Great breakfast with 7 or more Estonian juice options. Cozy heated room. Elevator.

Review 80:Mini-suite was excellent Breakfast was rich in variety Hotel was quiet Restaurant bar staff was helpful and friendly

Review 81:bad (no) service, bad experience, horrible atmosphere, don't go unless you're demented 70+ yo that feels home at retirement home

Review 82:no orange juice for breakfast

Review 83:air conditioning, private parking, restaurant with a nice view

Review 84:Nice view over lake and sea from hotel room. Nice meal in hotel restaurant. Good selection at buffet breakfast.
