Reviews for Gl. Skovridergaard

Review 1:Not having enough time to spend another night!

Review 2:The hotel and its setting is wonderful. The gardens create a sense of peace and tranquillity. The welcome at Reception could not have been warmer, and although there were a good number of conference guest we were still felt we had that special personal treatment. The food is outstanding - bothe e tasting menu at dinner and the exceptional breakfast.

Review 3:The only negatives I would have are that the sauna was overheated--beyond the red line on the dial--and the English version of the website is somewhat incomplete and thus awkward to navigate for booking purposes.

Review 4:The hotel is in an excellent location on spacious grounds and near parkland on the southern edge of the city. The staff is friendly and very helpful, and the breakfast buffet is bountiful and delicious.

Review 5:Things you need to know - is 2km from city centre so need a car or happy to ride free hotel bikes to get to restaurants or attractions. Hotel restaurant only open Monday-Friday. An ideal conference or wedding venue.

Review 6:Situated in large landscaped garden well off road, an ideal setting. Most rooms will have a garden view, ours also had a small balcony. Very peaceful environment with well designed public areas to sit inside or outdoors. Rooms are not large but we were very comfortable for one night stay.

Review 7:Lovely setting. I enjoyed being able to use a bike for a day to explore the town and lakes nearby. Extremely helpful staff. I had a wonderful stay and would definitely go back.

Review 8:Property felt dated, stuck in the 90's, rooms small, bathrooms uninspired, one container of soap for hair, hands (same soap) - no lotions etc, more a convention/conference hotel than a private party hotel, restaurant wants to be gourmet and certainly tries, but the chefs need to further develop their pallets.

Review 9:Friendly helpful staff, nice common areas, park-like grounds, you can borrow bikes, nice attached restaurant, quiet

Review 10:Someone coughed all one night below my room and it seemed as though I was in a convalescent home. I have to say I too sneezed all night with a summer cold and so maybe I was in the right place!

Review 11:The staff were friendly and helpful, the breakfast was excellent with a wonderful array of food and drink on offer including a beautifully presented energy drink!

Review 12:A good half an hour walk from town. Photo is very misleading this is actually a large business hotel.

Review 13:Quiet, seemed like an interesting area. Large garden. Tea and coffee facilities. Great breakfast in nice dining room.

Review 14:That our booking almost seven month ago, despite confirmation won't available. We booked a junior suite, but was given a room with with very narrow beds.

Review 15:That another room was established for us, since our Booking.com ref, indicated "no show"

Review 16:Staff very efficient but not that welcoming.

Review 17:Beautifully appointed hotel in perfect situation, close to town and yet very peaceful. Superb breakfast with enough choice for vegetarians.

Review 18:Restaurant was nearly empty so lacked any atmosphere. We paid 1700dkkfor the double room and breakfast and another 830dkk for the meal.

Review 19:Large hotel in lovely grounds with nearby woodland walks and lakes. Ashort bike ride away from Silkeborg town centre. Attractive room andhotel beautifully furnished. Restaurant served us a wonderful gourmetmeal. Also wonderful breakfast. Free secure parking. Friendly staff.

Review 20:Nothing!

Review 21:Everything!

Review 22:Friendly staff, gorgeous grounds, good breakfast. Easy to walk to town. Building has an interesting history.

Review 23:First class food and service

Review 24:None

Review 25:Delicious breakfast

Review 26:While the town isn't exciting, the lakes and rivers running through it are lovely. We enjoyed renting row boats for the day

Review 27:Staff were very helpful, facilities excellent, food excellent. The grounds are well maintained and great for a quiet walk.

Review 28:the best breakfast one could have

Review 29:Leaving....

Review 30:Everything! It was a wonderfully relaxing stay. We loved the garden with its activities and different seating areas. The remote control lawn mower was so cute! Attention to details in providing excellent help for local attractions and providing towels for a swim in the lake, and bicycles to explore. The proximity to the water and the town was excellent. We ate in the Orangery which was lovely. Thank you to all the lovely staff for making our stay so relaxing.

Review 31:1) no intercom system with reception, no wake up call system. 2) There was no bottled drinking water facility.Later on came to know basin water is safe to drink . 3) no introduction of the room facility to the guest.

Review 32:environment of the hotel

Review 33:Being told that it was better to wait until after 8 in the evening to use the restaurant ...than entering the restaurant at 8.20 to be told there was at least 30 minutes waiting time. I went in town and had a nice meal instead.

Review 34:Speedy check in/out....nice breakfast...helpful staff in reception...

Review 35:Can be loud if there's a function going on (eg wedding). Small bed.

Review 36:Excellent breakfast. Beautiful Danish design style furniture. Situated in large, quiet beautiful grounds. Room had balcony for sitting outdoors. Cycles provided.

Review 37:The tv-signal was a bit rusty, despite the very nice B&O set.

Review 38:Beautiful surroundings, very peaceful. I borrowed a free bicycle from the concierge to drive the city - a great way to explore the area. You could open the windows fully - what a relief, compared to most other business hotels. I was surprised that breakfast during weekdays stops at 0900, but the front desk quickly created a great morning tray that saved the day for me.

Review 39:The restaurant and food is very good but the evening menu could be more varied, giving more choice and variety for people staying longer than 2 - 3 nights.

Review 40:Very helpful and friendly staff. Excellent location within walking distance from the city centre but on the outskirts of the town. It is close to the river and lakes. Excellent bedroom. Breakfasts are a morning feast.

Review 41:2 single beds is just no fun for a romantic weekend!

Review 58:Nice location, almost in the middle of forest. Wifi connection available. Hotel can borrow bycicles because to center it is more than 2 km.

Review 59:Hotel situated in the park. Comfortable room, nice breakfast, tee&coffee facilities in the room.

Review 60:It felt very Danish: Clean, open, airy, and very friendly.
