Guesthouse Haus Sonnwend sells fast on our site. Located in the centre of Alpbach, Haus Sonnwend offers new and modern rooms and apartments with balcony and mountain views. Wi-Fi access and parking are available free of charge.
The rooms, apartments and studios are furnished in bright spruce wood. Each has a private bathroom. Guests of Haus Sonnwend can make use of a spacious lounge and a kitchen.
A rich breakfast buffet with fresh bread, fruit salad and various egg dishes is served in the morning. Half-board is available on request in the restaurant next door.
Guests at the Sonnwend can borrow for free equipment for hiking, as well as sledges, prams and snow shoes. The bus stop, ski schools, a ski rental, shops and restaurants are very close.
The ski bus takes you directly from Haus Sonnwend to the lifts, the cross-country ski runs and the ski school. Many hiking trails are nearby.
During summer, the Alpbachtal-Seeland Card is included in all rates. It offers free use of all cable cars, free access to museums and public swimming pools, as well as free guided hiking tours.
Children can use the cable cars and lifts free of charge in January, March and April.

Review 1：Gitti, our hostess, nothing too much trouble; the views from the balcony, the breakfasts and the fact that there was not a breathe of wind or a cloud in the sky for a whole week.....

Review 3：There are no words. We couldn't ask for more. The hostess Gitti is not just running a guest house but she also an amazing human being or rather say wonder women. The room is simply awesome. Clean, well decorated and comfortable beds. The balcony has very nice views. The breakfast includes lot of options. She gave us very useful tips as how to explore Alpbach. I must mention that Alpbach is very beautiful village surrounded by snow capped mountains and amazing views. We have been to many places earlier but our stay in Haus Sonnwend is the best till date.

Review 4：The apartment was fantastic and had a great view of the spectacular valley and was close to everything. However it was our host who was by far and away the biggest reason we will be back.

Review 5：our hostess could not have been more helpful, breakfast was the best of our trip, and the free cable car tickets gave us a delightful ride up the mountain and stunning views. Room and bathroom were excellent, and hooray, good lights for reading in bed.

Review 17：We had a fantastic stay at Sonnwend. Service is more than what you get from a 5 star with Gitty being the most gracious host. This place has a homely feel to it with great facilities and the breakfast is always something to look forward to. I celebrated my birthday during my stay and received a nice surprise from Gitty for Breakfast. We stayed at a studio which is really comfortable and didn’t give us the feel of a hotel room at all. We have been to a lot of hotels and resorts all over but I have to say this one is one of the best we’ve stayed in so far. Highly recommended

Review 18：It is hard to find somethind that I did not like. The apartment I stayed with my family was a dream. If I would change something, I would get a better matress for the bed. It was good to sleep but it could be better. Anyway, we want to come back. It was a dream come true vacation.

Review 19：The village is something special. Everyone is really kind and makes you feel really welcomed. My kids loved skiing and the quality and structure of the ski is awesome. Gicci was a great host at the Sonnwend. We Will miss her.

Review 21：The staff were great, and welcome you with a complimentary snaps. They house is in the centre of the village, with a decent view of the country side. I think this would be best enjoyed in Winter, but the town was still very charming in the Summer - definitely living up to it's title as Austria's most beautiful town. I'd also recommend dinner at the Hotel zur post - very good food.

Review 61：As the first time, every thing was amazing. Location of the hotel, very friendly the hotel owner Mrs. Bregitti "gitti" who made our stay in Alpbach unforgettable. The suprior room with Alpen style wooden furniture is wonderful with balcony and view to the vally. you will experience living as in your home. Mrs. Gitti will even coke for you a scrambled egg for example and will help you to plan day to day activities. Really we have enjoyed a lot our stay over there and we may come back again next time.

Review 62：Taxi service was quick from Brixlegg station. Dropped me off at the front door of accom.. Gitti made me feel totally comfortable as if I were at my own home. Supermarket was a 2 minute walk and as it was in between ski and hiking season this was my best bet for food. Breakfast at Haus Sonnwend was both plentiful and of a high standard to be expected throughout both Austria and Germany.

Review 66：Beautiful guest house in a beautiful little village in the mountains. Exceptionally clean & comfortable. Very quiet even though our room was in the front on the street. You can just park your car and walk the village from here. We did many side trips in the 5 days we were in the area. Brigitte welcomed us so warmly, like we were already friends. She gives you a guest card that gives you free admittance on the lifts & buses. Breakfast was excellent with many choices. Fresh fruit is left out all day. We will definitely return.

Bridgette was very friendly and made us feel like one of the family immediately... the room was very, very nice..mini kitchen, very neat, clean, efficient, beautiful view of the mountains...it was raining the next morning and we had inside access to the upstairs for breakfast, the breakfast was wonderful...will definitely go back and would not stay anywhere else...dinner at the hotel across the street was fabulous!

Review 68：Our room was quite small, especially the shower, and pillow was lacking filling. When we emptied the sink, water bubbled up in the shower. The guest next door smoked heavily on the balcony. People were sitting outside at a nearby restaurant talking loudly until midnight.
