Reviews for Inselklause
Review 1:The location was perfect, the staff and the Chef Joaquim were very profesional, gentle and warm. The room was big, very well decorated and extremely clean. A chilled bottle of champaign rosé was waiting for us.
Review 2:The hotel staff, the "family" style restaurant and the location are great. The food is very good and made with fresh local ingredients. If you like fish, try the local Trout. Fantastic. Also the best croissant I ever had, even better than France !
Review 3:Couldn't of been happier with this hotel! Beautiful location, gorgeous food, room was very spacious with a great view from the balcony and the staff were all very friendly - they even picked us up from the airport 2 hours away for only a small charge which we were incredibly grateful for! 10/10 definitely would stay again!
Review 4:slightly long time waiting for meal but worth it
Review 5:Everything.probably the nicest room I have stopped in while touring on a motorbike. Excellent staff and food. Breakfast was great
Review 6:they promised in their folders a spectacular view, but this is not true. Restaurant expensive and little choise. Too expensive for the quality offered.
Review 7:Nothing..
Review 8:The staffs, facilities (especially the shower head), location and especially the dinner from the restaurant. We had excellent five stars quality meals for the price of a cafe bar restaurant. There is nothing we could underrate anything there. Highly recommended to any travellers who wants to indulge and is willing to pay a little more than motel too get a great hotel quality.
Review 9:Hours for dinner and breakfast set during a two hour window - this is a small locally run hotel, clearly not a big staff, so understandable.
Review 10:The restaurant has nice food, for dinner and breakfast. The room overlooking the creek in the back is very nice and relaxing - maybe the rain also helped with that.
Review 11:Great welcome with wine and fresh fruit in the room. We had a room with a balcony overlooking the brook and fields, view was really good. Fresh trout from the adjacent stream was excellent.
Review 12:Our room facing a busy road was definitely a downside... Especially since we were expecting the little river view and sound...
Review 13:The room was nice and spacious. The bed was excellent I would like to have a bed like this at home :-) the breakfast was good especially the rolls were delicious.
Review 14:Nothing
Review 15:What a find!! The highlight of our trip. The rooms were so clean and the chocolates fruit basket and wine was a wonderful surprise in the room. The bathroom was just amazing. The evening meal was delightful as was the breakfast.
Review 16:Admittedly, I'm a picky hotel guest...a hotel snob, if you will. That said, there was nothing that I could pick apart at the Inselklause. The rooms are FLAWLESS...modern, well-equipped, and well-thought out. They boast modern showers, 2 sinks, HEATED floors, beautiful patios, comfortable and clean beds, and every bathroom amenity that you could think of. The staff is unbelievably welcoming and accommodating. The location is away from the chaos of Triberg, but located right along a beautiful hiking trail. The breakfast - don't even get me started...DELICIOUS! And to make it even better, they serve fresh coffee - nothing from a machine. Take advantage of this amazing hotel before it's discovered & rates climb to what they COULD be charging ;)
Review 17:It's a beautiful charming Black Forest hotel away from the touristy towns, next to a babbling creek with a section full of trout. A lovely cheerful young lady checked us in, and carried some bags into our room. As my husband was not well, they served my meal in our room, with some soup and calamine tea for my husband. My dinner of trout with potato flakes and lentils, and Black Forest cake, were delicious, and my husband enjoyed his soup. The view from the balcony was very restful. The bed was really comfortable, and the bathroom well set up. We would have liked to stay a few more nights.
Review 18:Everything is so perfect! We booked only one night, but wouldn't leave and in the end we prolonged one night. Location is amazing to explore the Black Forest. Waterfall and Triberg is just a stone's throw. Service is the fabulous, much better than many four five star hotels. Their restaurant is the best I've ever had in Germany. Especially the fresh caught trout! Will definitely return!
Review 19:I stayed for only one night, next time i'll stay longer
Review 20:The staff was among the best i've ever had the pleasure to meet, they would do their absolute best to make your stay a special one. The restaurent specializes in troute as they have diffrent options of serving it, it's as fresh as it could get, they collect the trout from a stream on the location and serve it directly into your plate, plus, the service is excuisite.
Review 21:Nothing.
Review 22:Best hotel I have ever stayed. We stayed there for business trip. Room was newly renovated. It has very nice forest view. Room was quite big. Shower was incredible. Wide very modern shower system installed. Stuff was very very kind and professional. Food was very fresh. Waitress who were in traditional dress asked us if everything was ok maybe ten times. The cook also visited our table to be sure if everything was ok. For the price that service of hotel and restaurant is unbelievable. Highly recommended.
Review 23:The staff were very nice, friendly and helpful. The room was lovely and comfortable and the shower was amazing! Food was excellent, didn't get round to trying the home made cakes but they looked amazing.
Review 24:Nothing at all!
Review 25:Everything! Staff was very friendly and helpful. Food is fantastic. Fresh trout that they catch right outside the back door of their kitchen cooked to perfection. Can't wait to stay there again.
Review 26:We had a lovely welcome from very friendly and helpful staff. The room was very well appointed with beautiful views. The chocolate, wine and fruit provided in the room on arrival was very special and the food at both dinner and breakfast was excellent.
Review 27:The price of the dinner was a little high but the fresh caught trout was amazing!!!
Review 28:We really liked the view! Great location to get to so many places. Breakfast was great! Typical German breakfast w/bacon and scrambled eggs that they offered to us! Yum!
Review 29:Lovely cosy hotel with wonderful staff. The hotel lies in a beautiful part of the Schwarzwald. Also wonderful food (I had the roast duck). We will certainly be back again.
Review 30:Dinner took a long time, but the "not rushing you" may have been intentional. After all, we Americans always seem to want things quickly! ;-). Europeans take things at a more leisurely pace, which we would do well to adopt!
Review 31:Location, price, just about everything.
Review 32:The room & hotel has a very sophisticated appeal to it. Every part of it's design is simply made to make you feel at home. We got so many things included in the room it was a pleasure - things like chocolate, free water bottle, small bottle of champange, the bathroom had almost every thing you may want. The shower is very high-tech, believe us - it's something you don't want to miss. The view from our room was incredible - there was a running stream outside and the view was of the pastorale green fields and black forest. Heating was great in the room, and the staff was very kind and polite. Breakfast was incredible too, and we really liked the fresh croissants. Very close to the center of Triberg. The hotel restaurant is great as well.
Review 33:Very pleasant stay at this lovely hotel. We took a short walk into the forest which is just by a little lake the next morning. There is a stream flowing behind the hotel too. The view is just stunning. The staff is very friendly and the food here is delicious. Everything is just perfect. We love this hotel and definitely will recommend it to friends.
Review 34:Everything about this hotel was excellent: the bedroom and bathroom were attractive and well equipped, there were the extra touches of prosecco and fruit in the room, and the food in the restaurant was wonderful. The staff were friendly and helpful.
Review 35:Picturesque setting. Staff brilliant, attentive and professional. Accommodation excellent and restaurant excellent also. Great value for money.
Review 36:Let me say at the outset this hotel is somewhat more expensive than other hotels in the vicinity, but it is money well spent. You receive there surroudings (furniture, quality of workmanship of doors and windows, bathroom amenities, etc.) that are usually found in hotels charging a much higher price. There is a restaurant on the premises, the food and the service are excellent. There is a good and ample breakfast and, yes, there are vegetables available. Thus no need for BYOT (bring your own tomato). Location - a creek flows under the bedroom windows and one is lulled to sleep by its soothing melody. Further down are meadows, groves and other greenery. Just ask for a room facing the creek. The hotel is a stand-alone house. Thus it is possible to admire the work of the architect who designed the additions to the original building.
Review 37:The room was very nice. Very modern shower, nice decor, and comfortable beds. A very quiet location, and we only heard the sound of a stream during the night. The restaurant served very good food, and the service was outstanding. The hotel is very close to the Triberg waterfalls.
Review 38:The land-view around the hotel is great. The room is very quiet although there is a river running outside.
Review 39:I have nothing to complain.
Review 40:I liked the comfort and the cleanliness of the room. Internet also worked perfect. Very kind staff.
Review 41:Very attentive owner and staff, great food, wonderful little trout stream with trout that they serve in the restaurent.
Review 42:Great restaurant with trout
Review 43:Bit far from the town ,, u need a car to move around
Review 44:Beautiful view from the balcony , delicious meal served at the restuarant
Review 45:Location, quite ess
Review 46:All
Review 47:The property is located on the main road so there is noise from the traffic in the morning
Review 48:Excellent restaurant. Loved the dinners
Review 49:Perfect location, friendly and helpful staff, fantastic meals. Beautiful setting by trout stream.
Review 50:Quality of accommodation Excellence of food Friendliness & helpfulness of staff
Review 51:The hotel is tucked away again a bubbling stream and a beautiful forest. It is so quiet and so relaxing, and the food is divine!
Review 52:Kind, lovely and profecional staff Butifull location with a streem just out of the room window.
Review 53:Everything was really great!
Review 54:Great hotel. Everything was perfect. We really enjoyed it.
Review 55:The staff was so friendly and very helpful. We were able to eat in the restaurant for New Years and it was superb!
Review 56:Restaurant really perfect. Employees are really kindly.
Review 57:This is a stunning place. Our room was spacious & the staff was friendly & efficient
Review 58:Would have liked to make a cup of tea in the room
Review 59:Excellent restaurant, the food was delicious. Our rain shower in the ensuite was wonderful.
Review 60:The stream at the back Excellent understanding staff
Review 61:This has been the nicest place we have stayed!! Everything was perfect!! It was peaceful and we loved the balcony off our room!
Review 62:Almost nothing - it was a great place to stay. Our only comment is that the room did not have even a small refrigerator (we were travelling by car so had a few drinks etc). However, we found that they chilled quite nicely outside on the balcony!
Review 63:This is a lovely modern hotel just outside the town of Schonwald. It was quiet and very comfortable, with a complimentary bowl of fruit, wine (bubbles!) and a bottle of water on arrival. Our room was a good size with a well-appointed, warm bathroom, although the push-button controls for the shower were interesting (the shower itself was fabulous!). It also had a small balcony that overlooked a stream, and although the weather didn't encourage sitting outside, this would be a great place to stay when it is warmer. The staff were all great - friendly and happy to chat - and they gave us a run-down on the place and some local attractions. Breakfast was excellent, with something for everyone, and we had a lovely dinner on our first night in the restaurant.
Review 64:Schonwald itself almost shuts down between 12:30 & 2:00
Review 65:Located just a little out of town, excellent staff, breakfast (eggs cooked to your requirements). Easy drive to Triberg, Gengenbach , which is a delightful place.
Review 66:Service in the restaurant was a little slow. There was a problem with the internet for 2 days of our stay. The card machine did not work on checking out meaning we had to go to a bank to get cash.
Review 67:The quality of the room and especially the bathroom was excellent. Staff were friendly. We ate in the restaurant twice and found the food to be very good.
Review 68:everything. the family that owns the place is really nice and kind, the room was clean and everything in it was new, shower was awsome! with an electrical remote control and a heating floor! a bascet of fruits and a bottle of water was waiting for us, free of charge. a tv with all the channels, very comfortable bed, great breakfest! bottom line - perfect. and not very expansive.
Review 69:Room is rather small for a supplementary bed; Thursday is a day off for the restaurant and the hotel is locked, guests should be warned and informed that the room key opens the entrance door of the building.
Review 70:Friendly staff, good breakfast, excellent restaurant, clean, free parking and wireless internet.
Review 71:An excellent hotel, friendly staff. Bedroom very comfortable, amazing bathroom. The restaurant was very good. Ideal location for walking in the Black Forest.
Review 72:It's not a dislike, more like a reality check. The hotel is oat aT-intersection, picture is a bit deceptive. I was never once disturbedbecause of the road, just thought it would be more off the road.
Review 73:The staff was awesome, the room comfortable, the food tasty andreasonably priced. We wanted to be away and that's what we got.
Review 74:Nothing, we want to go back for longer.
Review 75:Everything! Fantastic location, beautiful room, spotlessly clean, friendly service (Nicole is a gem), great food & drinks all at reasonable cost.
Review 76:There was no-one arround when we arrived - Thursday was their day off. Would have been good to know this before arrival. This was a little off-putting as a starting point. Not a major issue but some local maps and inside tips of things to do would have been useful.
Review 77:Location was good for touring surrounding areas and local walking. Room was nice and although facing the road, had good soundproofing. Storage was good and bathroom facilities plentiful - trendy shower! The breakfast room was nice and food choice and quality very good. Lady serving in the morning was very nice. Easy parking and free wi-fi. Nice little bottle of sekt for our arrival was a nice touch.
Review 78:Great countryside location in Black Forest. Very friendly and helpful receptionist and waitress. Spacious room and modern, clean facilities. Only 5 minute drive to Triberg Waterfall. We parked at the top of the falls (the first sign you come to when you leave the hotel) but it is a long walk back up the hill from the top of the falls - we would have been better to park at the bottom and walk up to the falls.
Review 79:They were so accommodating and just generally great people. I honestly have nothing bad to say about the place - food was amazing, as was the room and price.
Review 80:Friendly people, good food and that's the least that can be said. We loved the hotel & highly recommend it to all. We're coming back for sure.
Review 81:Very minor point - we had a very spacious balcony - but it wa to theside of the hotel so overlooked the road too, inside the room no noiseat all, but outside was noisy from the road. However we were only therefor one night so this really was not a problem. Just to be aware if youare there for longer.
Review 82:Greeted by the most delightful young lady - Nicole - who could not havebeen more helpful, friendly and charming during our 1 night stay. Myhusband was not feeling well and she was so thoughtful in many ways -unasked - thank you. Hotel is lovely and our room was very spacious, comfortable - immaculately clean. Fun shower - bit like a disco withever changing lights. Fruit, water and a little bottle ofprosecco/sekt in room on arrival. Dinner was excellent - but ashusband was unwell - no problem for the chef to prepare a plain omelettewhich was not on the menu. Neither of us could eat a sweet/pud thateveing so opted for only tea - which the very charming Nicole asked ifwe would like to take it to our room - she did the "taking".The chef makes his own "Black Forrest Gateau" - and the day weleft we took some portions with us. It was fabulous - highly recommendanyone try this. Breakfast was lovely too and in a little side room -super hotel - kind, thoughtful and great staff and highly recommend thisas a place to stay.
Review 83:The hotel is easy to find, the rooms are well designed, spacious and immaculately clean. The staff are very welcoming, helpful and accommodating. The breakfast in the morning is nice, there is also free WiFi available. I definitely recommend this hotel if you are visiting triberg / blackforest area.
Review 84:Beautifully remodeled, clean and comfortable rooms. The welcoming drinkand room amenities were above what you would expect from this pricepoint. The staff was courteous and friendly. The gourmet dinner was worththe experience and the breakfast was fantastic. I would highly recommendthis hotel. It is set along a small brook and the staff is in thetraditional German clothing - just what we wanted while exploring theBlack Forest area.
Review 85:The staff were incredibly helpful and friendly. The room was spacious and clean, and the shower is fantastic. The location is beautiful, and if it hadn't been snowing/raining, I would definitely have spent a lot of time on the lovely balcony. The restaurant was amazing for dinner, and the breakfast spread is generous and filling. Everything was so easy and pleasant, we are definitely trying to plan a return trip, just to relax.
Review 86:An excellent place to stay. Very modern. The restaurant and the staff are excellent too.
Review 87:The black forest cake in the restaurant is very delicious.
Review 88:Wonderful hotel located in a magical spot. Great staff amazing rooms everything was perfect!
Review 89:Beautifull hotel!! We loved our stay, the Food of Joachim the chef was excellent. The view, the surroundings, everything was just perfect!!
Review 90:The hotel was just what we were looking for. Quiet and away from the city. Having the little street and farm in the back was very calming.
