Reviews for Gilleleje Badehotel

Review 1:Curtains in bedroom did not prevent the sun so the room was very bright early in the morning. Bathroom in some need of restauration, did not correspond to the rest of the hotel. No direct access to the beach, so had to walk for 5 minutes to steps down the hill (which is interesting for bathing-hotel). Breakfast ok, but simple. Hotel located a 20-25 minutes walk from the village.

Review 2:Wonderful view over the ocean from our room, excellent diner food in the restaurant, spa (included) good way to start the day, public areas in very good condition.

Review 3:The phone and one of the lights in my room didn't work. They were relatively apologetic about it.

Review 4:The location is beautiful. And the spa is lovely.

Review 5:Would have been nice to have a few more towels so you didn't have to re-use the spa one in the bedroom, and if children were not allowed in the spa area as there were a few noisy teenagers in there when we visited. Perfect apart from that.

Review 6:Beautiful interior, calm and relaxing, delicious breakfast, free coffee and cake on arrival, friendly staff, spotlessly clean, wonderful atmosphere and balance between the old and the modern

Review 7:Small bathrooms without simple shelf to put wash bag, linoleum floors in bathroom and toilet not nice and looks slightly dirty even when washed. Cleaning could have been better, sink in toilet not washed every day as would expect. TV in some rooms only, not stand for suitcase. Only very minor changes in menu in a week. Plastic sheets to cover mattress....

Review 8:Location great, beautiful view from some rooms, atmosphere, friendly staff, good food, very good mattress in side building.

Review 9:The best on the Danish Riviera!

Review 10:I was slightly disappoined the rooms didn't directly overlook the sea given the stunning location. Additional accommodation built in the grounds have spoilt what would have been a lovely outlook. Furniture in the rooms was being upgraded during our visit which may account for the fact there was no where to put any clothes; no drawers of wardrobe, quite odd for a hotel! The garden overlooking the sea had no tables or chairs so it was difficult to take advantage of the terrific views. The bathroom was clean but small and there was no TV in the rooms.

Review 11:This hotel has a lovely 'relaxed' vibe and the location is great. The staff were friendly and helpful and all facilities were clean and well kept. The breakfasts were nice and the evening meal was much better than anything you get in the below par restaurants in town. Hiring bikes makes getting around easy, these were provided by the hotel.

Review 12:I think the hotel is too expensive but, probably, because of location.

Review 13:Perfect location, close to the beach and 20 min. walking to Gillileje and harbour with many small fish restaurants.Food was excellent and fresh. Nice breakfast.Personal at the reception and restaurant - nice and helpfull.

Review 14:Slow or no response when trying to call the hotel about booking. Did not return phone calls. Breakfast service slow at cleaning and filling up on the buffet. Not possible to turn off the light in the room from the bed.

Review 15:Beautiful view of the sea from the small terrasse, lovely relaxation area around the fireplace and in the library. Wedding dinner excellent!

Review 16:Could be the best if the wifi was better and stronger.

Review 17:The hotel is super beautiful , the dinnig room is from legends, the lobby in the main room is somethingto remmeber for life. The room is designed luxury we loved it!!. The stuf is WONDERFUL!! The location is pastoral . Amazing hotel hopefully will visit it again .

Review 18:The facilities advertised included bike rental but, when I e-mailed in advance to reserve some bikes, I was simply referred to the local tourist office which had stopped hiring out bikes in mid August when the school holidays had ended. We booked this hotel because of this facility and were then let down with no apology whatsoever. We were also disappointed with the service we received but, as time went on, we realised this was the Danish way. Our first morning we were the last down for breakfast although it was some 45 minutes before breakfast was due to end. As we were munching our cereal, we saw the rest of the breakfast goodies being removed and the waitress seemed somewhat surprised when we asked for it to be brought back! While I don't mind the single duvets on the bed, I wish hotels wouldn't put 2 single beds together and, in this case, single sheets so, if you want a cuddle, you end up disappearing between the 2 beds! It was also a shame that our largish room came with a very small wet room.

Review 19:Glorious views across to Sweden from our room with a balcony. Hotel tastefully decorated and comfortable. The staff were friendly, even if not very efficient. Situated about a mile from Gilleleje itself but the nearby (tarmac) coastal path took you directly into the village past some spectacular houses. Dinner was well-executed although very little choice.

Review 20:- Should inform about TV. - Pay for RENTING bathrobes at a "Badehotel" - Our room actually had some cobwebs in it...... - Room 22 extremely hot during the night..

Review 21:- Liked the room, no TV - Nice balcony

Review 22:Climbing several flights of stairs with heavy luggage. The hotel doesn't have a lift.

Review 23:It's a beautiful place to stay, with exquisite sea views! It's very romantics, with excellent food, and ambience.

Review 24:Upon arriving and entering our room (18:00) we noticed that it wasn´t ready; they offered us an alternative room. Between moving our luggage from one room to another somebody from the staff had smoked in our room. Internet didn´t work. We waited 20 minutes for dessert (strawberries with one tiny scoop icecream). Complete waiting time between courses: 90 Minutes!! No discount or any other reimbursement for our inconvenience was offered.... Very disappointing!!!

Review 25:Ocean view

Review 26:On a beachhotel - youhave to rent a bathrobe for 75 dkk - thatdoesn't match we got a room facing the kitchenentrance with a 1,5person bed, still had to pay full price.....
