Review 1：Lovely rooms and breakfast was just right. They had decorated the property for Christmas and it looked lovely. Good location,5 min walk from the centre of Meissen.

Review 2：It was a pity the restaurant was closed the 2 nights we were there but this did encourage us to explore the wonderful town .

Review 6：Nice room in hotel, existing of different old houses. Excellent breakfast. Free Parking in the street is about 70 m away from the rooms, no elevator, many steps on the staircase. Pillow bar to try out which is the best pillow for you.

Review 11：The staff especially Frau Gunther who provided us with additional motorcycling routes for our 2 day stay. We really enjoyed the vintage motor cycle exhibition located at the nearby Schloss Augustusburg sugggested by her before heading off as we had already planned to visit Colditz Castle. The hotel location was perfect as it provided secure motorcycle parking minutes away from town centre. Frau Gunther even allowed hubby to clean down his bike. Breakfast room was located at entrance of hotel ,well presented with a varied selection of items to choose from. The hotel spends time on the little, attention to detail items that make the difference to their clients' stay and that was really appreciated by us.

Review 12：We were made welcome by all the people at the hotel. We had a spacious room, very comfortable, rented their bikes and everyone was keen to make our stay happy. A memorable 4 nights.

Review 13：No English translation so no as easy for non German speaking tourist. That said staff did speak English and helped with the menu.

Review 16：The hotel looked like a worn out old "Gasthaus" from the outside; but when we entered it was like an enchanted fairy had passed thru. The cook was very good with much imagination.

Review 17：It is on top of the hill overlooking town. It isn't far to get to local restaurants and such but be prepared to climb when you return. The parking was small and tight. We had no problem finding a spot but we were there off season.

As the title says, I was pleasantly surprised by the facilities.Breakfast was inclusive and was very good.The overall facilities are spread over several buildings and it gives this hotel a unique atmosphere.The staff's English skills were limited but adequate and they went out of their way to help with translations and finsing local sights.

Review 35：The one bedroom apartment we booked was well equiped, comfortable andvery clean. Continental breakfast was ample. The restaurant was closed(Wednesday and Sunday evening) so we couldn't sample the full menubut a reduced one was available for guests which was fine. Set in aquiet street, just 5 minutes from the centre.

Review 36：Its restaurant was very good!! I ate pork and vegetables, and they were so delicious. It is located 10 minutes far from center of Meissen. it is silent and room is so comfortable. I'd like to visit again.

One can order thewine by the glass, with a very reasonable price. The food served in therestaurant was also very good. The hotel room was spacious andcomfortable. It offers a wide range of pillows for the guests to chooseif one is not happy with what is provided in the guest room. Lastly, itsbreakfast buffet was also excellent.

Review 40：Our apartment was excellent - it had everything we needed, and was very spacious. We had an absolutely superb dinner at the restaurant downstairs. The bathroom was large, warm and well-stocked. We wished we could have stayed for longer!

Review 48：It's an excellent Hotel, very good services and friendly helpful staff. The Hotel Room is big, bright and clean. You are able to choose your pillow from the pillowbar (the waterpillow is absolutely wonderful). There's also a DVD player in the room. We weren't able to have breakfast in the morning because of a course that started a seven. But they offer the oppurtunity of ordering a lunch package, which was filled with drinks, bread/sandwich, fruit and a small snack. So it was absolutely perfect. We can also recommend the restaurant with very tasteful dishes. I think it's the best hotel we have ever been to.

Review 54：Very charming and quiet, and an easy walk from the hotel across the river to the Old Town. The staff was extremely nice and helpful. Excellent breakfast included in the price of the room. There is a gourmet restaurant in the hotel, too. Our room was large, well appointed, and had the most comfortable bed we have experienced to date on our trip (which has included Vienna and Prague, too). Meissen itself is a gem of a place, well worth a visit. We would definitely stay in the Goldenes Fass Meissen were we to return for another visit to this beautiful little town.

Review 57：The restaurant attached to the hotel served very good food, but theadvertised price of 22 euro for dinner was not available. Also, thechildren of one of the owners or employees were allowed to run about thedining room making quite a bit of noise, interrupting as the serverstook orders, and even at one point crawling beneath my table as I ate.The children were not disciplined at all and served to make a lovelymeal unpleasant. The presence of the children (approx ages 3 and 5)would not have been troublesome had their carers taken the trouble toensure they behaved. I like children, but the behaviour allowed was veryunreasonable, especially given the price I paid for the meal on my firstnight. I did not return for another dinner.
