Reviews for Argentino Hotel

Review 1:The hotel is across the road from Plaza Independencia, which is a beautiful park with market stalls on weekends and lots of atmosphere. The staff were very helpful and friendly and the hotel is close to shops and restaurants. The room I stayed in was small, but very comfortable and clean and I had a lovely view overlooking the park. I would definitely stay there again.

Review 2:Air conditioning was loud and a little weak. Noise from the road may bother some. Some rooms were much larger and nicer than others.

Review 3:Location, friendly, helpful staff, free parking.

Review 4:Small room. Steps in hallway make it difficult with a suitcase. I can't stand a shower curtain that clings while you shower! Really ordinary breakfast, the worse one of my whole trip, not even a normal size slice of bread.

Review 5:The location was great. The staff very helpful.

Review 6:Receptionist was not really willing to provide a useful map and some more detailed information about the city. Besides that everyone was really friendly and helpful. Breakfast is not very special.

Review 7:The pool is nice, although really noisy because of 20 window airconditioners hanging in that area.

Review 8:I cannot blame the hotel for the overall dirtiness of this city and lack of funds to keep its parks mowed and clean. It was sad to see the streets and public places in such condition. The presence of so many police was also a bit disconcerting during our dinner sitting outside near the center but we were told they were needed to ensure that tourists are not bothered by thieves. Again, the hotel cannot be blamed for any of this. One night in Mendoza is enough on any trip to the vineyards. Go further south to the Uco Valley and see vineyards that are up and coming and set in much more rural pretty areas than the ones in Lujan de Cuyo.

Review 9:Easy to find in the center next to Independence Park.

Review 10:I booked 2 rooms one executive double or twin for my husband and myself and one standard for my son Cameron Leslie. My husband and I were put into room 149 a tiny ground floor twin room with a window at eye level onto the sitting area around the pool. This would have meant we would have had to have our curtains closed the whole time. As this didn't look like it was an executive room and after seeing my friends rooms which were far superior I went back to reception to query this and indeed it wasn't an executive room. My son was then put in this room. If I hadn't complained about it this is the room we would have had. We were given room 346 which wasn't nearly to the same standard as our two other friends rooms who also were in executive suits. I was quoted NZ$428.40 for our room and US$238.02 (NZ$303.25) for my sons room I was charged NZ$456.91 plus x3 NZ$11.42 and US$353.56 (NZ$450.55) for my sons room.

Review 11:My friends had comfortable rooms. Good location and friendly staff.

Review 12:Beds on the small side and no outdoor furniture on terrace off superior rooms.

Review 13:Excellent location for cafés, restaurants, pedestrian mall, shopping and directly overlooking and across street from Plaza de Independencia with beautiful fountains, outdoor entertainment, night markets and grass lawns to sit and walk on. Hotel Menu of the day very good value.

Review 14:We arrived NY eve in the early evening. We inquired about places to eat and the staff was unhelpful and even dismissive despite the fact that they knew everything would be closed. Then on top of that they closed the restaurant so that the majority of thier guests who were foreigners had nowhere to eat. We spent 3.5 hours looksing for food before finding an overpriced cafe with limited options. Then the next morning they said it was not worth calling a taxi so they refused to do so. If you know the city will have no options for food, and the majority of your guests do not, you have a responsibility to help them if you can. They could have, just chose not too. Will not be recommending them at all.

Review 15:The location right on the square was great, and it was easy to find. Additionally the facilities (other than a very dirty pool) were good.

Review 16:Size of room was very small

Review 17:Location was excellent in the city center. It was within walking distance to restaurants, bars and shopping. The staff was helpful. It was over 100 degrees F. and the air conditioner in my room worked fine.

Review 18:The room had that "basic" feel - very thin carpet, strong smell of cleaning chemicals. It was clean though. Facing the square, the street below is noisy, but, that was true of almost every other urban hotel we stayed at in South america.

Review 19:The front desk staff was helpful and spoke good english. We ate a light meal in the hotel's restaurant and the food was good. The location is the very definition of "central" - it is on Mendoza's main square. The price was right to use up our pesos on the last night before leaving Argentina.

Review 20:Our room was located to the front of the hotel and we found the main road was busy and noisy during the night

Review 21:Excellent hotel with very friendly staff.. Situated next to independente plaza and walking distance from all main bars and restaurants.

Review 22:I asked for a quiet room and was put next to a very busy street. I complained the next day and they told me I'd be changed to an interior courtyard room. Returned later and they had us in another street side room one floor up. It was terrible for me. For a heavy sleeper it would be a great location.

Review 23:Room quite small V warm at night - no air-con

Review 24:Central, easy to walk around the City, change money etc Helpful staff Nice pool area Relaxed and friendly Lots of nice plazas and wine shops/bars within a short walk

Review 25:Noisy room facing the street. Aside from traffic, there's a squeaky merry-go-round across the street in plaza, which drove me crazy. (I switched rooms.) Not the hotel's fault, of course. Rooms seemed very hot (2nd floor), so I had to keep the window open (in late August, which is early spring there). Bathrooms in both rooms had very little clearance to open the door and enter (it would be hard for a large person). Bedding could be better: no mattress pad? Sheets slipped off every night. For the price, I expected more.

Review 26:Wonderful staff, very helpful and friendly. They booked a wine tour for me on very short notice. Convenient location makes it easy to walk anywhere. Excellent breakfast, included. Nice atmosphere, comfortable to hang out on patio or in meeting area. Easy to meet and connect with other guests (on tours, in restaurant, lobby, etc.).

Review 27:Wifi never worked in our room. We had to go to the lobby every time we wanted to access internet. In addition to that, the double bed in our room was not very comfortable. It was actually two single beds put together. We could feel the edge of each bed when we were sleeping.

Review 28:The hotel is located in walking distance to the most attractive spots of the city, including parks, shops, casinos, restaurants, bars and the major Theater. The staff was very nice.

Review 29:The pool is more like a water tank...

Review 30:Quiet and clean room. The food from the restaurant was very good.

Review 31:- Poor breakfast - the building is quiet old, therefore it needs a renovation

Review 32:Rooms are small

Review 33:Location

Review 34:Noisy air conditioner in room.

Review 35:Located directly across the road from Plaza Independencia and great restaurants and cafés. Close to shopping precinct.

Review 36:We got a tiny room in the basement facing a wall and a back alley.

Review 37:Staff was Extremely accommodating Location right on the Park Near restaurants and cafes

Review 38:Nice and helpful staff. Some speaking good english... Clean pool. Wi-Fi.

Review 39:Rooftop deck and lovely sitting/reading/computer area, very helpful staff, good breakfast.

Review 40:No problems.

Review 41:Great location and great staff. Would stay there again if I return to Mendoza.

Review 42:Nothing!

Review 43:Location friendly staff quiet and safe room

Review 44:The staff was fantastic. Before we even checked in they had us booked on a great wine tour. Francisco took care of everything for us and we would stay there again in a heartbeat. It was our favorite hotel in Argentina.

Review 45:The room was on the front of the hotel and there was considerable street noise.

Review 46:The staff was very competent and friendly. The bed was very comfortable and the AC worked very well.

Review 47:Small rooms, but hey, it's a boutique hotel. Price goes up every time I stay there, but inflation is bad in Argentina and not reflected in the "official" exchange rate.

Review 48:Close to main square, restaurants, car rental agency, shops, etc. Staff is super nice. Small hotel so everything is 30 seconds from your room. Quiet despite central location.

Review 49:Hotel Argentino was in a prime location. A close walk to the city's transportation and major restaurants/bars. The hotel was very clean, quiet and the reception people were very helpful. They organized taxi's, excursions, reservations at restaurants for us. The rooms are a bit small with not much closet space ( we were two girls) but had the essentials you needed.

Review 50:There needs to be a buffer zone between the outside smokers and the inside of the hotel. Smoke permeates through the doors and windows. The hotel rooms need to be better maintained. Broken beds, broken faucets, and barely working air conditioners need replacement.

Review 51:Location was perfect, across the street from Plaza Indepencia. The staff was knowledgeable and helpful. The breakfast was decent and was offered for a good time span.

Review 52:The only access is via 4 or 5 steps from the street Very difficult for couple with heavy bags

Review 53:Everything at the hotel was superb. Staff, rooms, service!!

Review 54:some airconditioning noise?

Review 55:The staff is professionnal, fluent english, kind and helpful. The situation is excellent, my room was simple, but it was very clean. The restaurant is good. The person consulting me in red wine on menue was perfect, as the wine:) I recommend this hotel for a stay in Mendoza, and I 'd like to return there again!

Review 56:The shower drain was completely plugged when we got into the room, and even after it was fixed the shower had a bad habit of leaking water all over the floor. Everything else was pretty good, so no other complaints!

Review 57:The hotel has a very swanky look with updated everything, and decor was very nice. The staff was extremely helpful, and they always had someone at the front desk that speaks English. It's right outside the main plaza in Mendoza, so this is a perfect place to stay if you enjoy the city scenery and nice restaurants/shows/etc. It was a very comfortable hotel, and I would stay here again.

Review 58:Hotel needs an interior makeover. Carpets were grubby and the rooms were musty and small and look out onto a car park wall. When we first checked in, the room smelled of sewage (coming from the bathroom drains) and the aircon was on. The aircon box was an old box that sounded like a tractor engine so we asked to be moved. The second room was much the same but had about 20 mosquitos waiting for us! We moved again to a similar bad smelling room and spent 3 very sleepless nights due to the noisy aircon box that sounded like a tractor in the room! I have never asked to move rooms in a hotel before but after 3 rooms, I realised that all the rooms were much of the same issues!

Review 59:Great location

Review 60:Just a normal standard 3* hotel. Rooms are small, with stains in carpet and poor furniture, room 154. Breakfast @ 10am was not enough for all the guests.

Review 61:Staff is very friendly

Review 62:Air conditioning was so loud. And the rooms are tight. But the location makes up for most of it

Review 63:Excellent location and reasonable value for money. Pool was good. Overall, it's a great place if you don't plan to stay indoor.

Review 64:Breakfast consisting of staff full of sugar! Most rooms have horrendous views: two parking lots and internal light openings. Building inadequate to be a hotel of any class! I didn’t have any problem with the staff that was eager and polite! It is the low “professionalism” of the hotel itself…

Review 65:Not much!

Review 66:A very very minor inconvenience was the Wifi did not work in the room during the weekend.

Review 67:Large quiet room. Very good restaurant on site. Central location. Day staff were helpful with tours and information.

Review 68:Not enough Protein on breakfast Buffet, i am a diabetic and can't do with so much sugary stuff, BUT they did bring me some yoghurt when asked for it

Review 69:Great Location immaculately kept, Great staff, Overall a lovely Hotel.

Review 70:The Staff and facilities were excellent. They made recommendations and reservations for us and were very helpful when we left and discovered our rental car had a flat tire. All in all it's a wonderful place to stay.

Review 71:The room was very small, also the were carrying out works in the hotel lobby which made it noisy.

Review 72:Location was central, the staff efficient in booking a restaurant and arranging an early morning taxi.u

Review 73:Staff didn't go out of their way to be friendly or helpful, and it was stiflingly hot in the hotel during our entire stay.

Review 74:Breakfast buffet was great, and the location was right on the main plaza in Mendoza.

Review 75:Breakfast was a bit basic but then it was typical of other Argentine hotels - just some breads, jams, and average selection of fruit. Yougurts, eggs etc. weren't on offer.

Review 76:Great location, room was clean as was the rest of the hotel. Staff were helpful and professional.

Review 77:Mis-communication at front desk regarding taxi. Taxi was not ordered as requested and took nearly 20 min of waiting and asking again to have one called. Barely caught my bus with only 2 minutes to spare.

Review 78:Central location

Review 79:The first room we had was hot and the plumbing system too noisy. Wemoved to another room which was okay but smaller. However, the staffwere very good.

Review 80:The hotel is centrally located opposite the main square in Mendoza. Aquick walk takes you to many restaurants and shopping areas. Greatbreakfast in a room overlooking the square.

Review 81:Nothing

Review 82:Very nice hotel with excellent and very helpful staff situated in the center of Mendoza. Rooms are cosy and clean. Breakfast is very good and the food in the resto delicious.

Review 83:Nothing of consequence.

Review 84:The staff were as helpful as any staff at any hotel on our trip. Service and general manners were impeccable.Top rating deserved,

Review 85:Huge rooms with double wardrobe desk and chair, two armchairs and TV cabinet as well as twin beds. Well stocked mini bar and cable TV make this hotel a very good option. Has a lively bar next to reception where reasonably priced food is available as well as a more upmarket restaurant. Service is efficient and situation is not far from main square. Overall a very good choice if you are staying in Cordoba

Review 86:The bathroom was tiny and when you opened the door, it hit the toilet. Both the drain in the sink and shower drained very slowly. The door to the balcony was difficult to lock and since we shared the balcony with the room next door, that was not good.

Review 87:Location was perfect, the lobby of hotel was open, airy and inviting and the breakfasts were very good. We also opted for a executive double and had a lovely balcony overlooking the park.

Review 88:Breakfast area was small and very crowded but it was a holidayweekend, don't go to Mendoza or anywhere else in Chile or Argentinaaround Easter-nothing is open except for a few restaurants and thesupermarket

Review 89:Good central location, free parking down the street, good restaurantswithin easy walking distance

Review 90:Room size not conducive to a longer stay but perfect for our last nights in Mendoza

Review 91:Great location to restaurants, convenient to the downtown area, close to Park Independensia, very friendly employees.

Review 92:I've stayed at Hotel Argentino multiple times and am very familiar with Mendoza. The location is perfect, close walking distance to everything. The hotel is clean, the restaurant is nice and the rooms are simple!

Review 93:The rooms are tiny the swimming pool is really small and water notinviting...

Review 94:A great little hotel, rooms at 3 stars European level, excellent (large)bed, breakfast more than enough with fresh fruits, rolls, etc. We werestaying in Mendoza 3x 1 night, using the city as a "haven"between our excursions to the North and the South

Review 95:The room was quite small with a tiny window looking onto a wall. All guests on the second floor have to use stairs (there are three down from the lift level). We think we got sick from the dinner food, but breakfast was fresh and very good.

Review 96:The pool was nice but small.

Review 97:Staff at reception v helpful.good location

Review 98:Very nice hotel with a friendly and helpful staff. Good location by town square and it was very easy to walk to restaurants.

Review 99:Good breakfast but could be improved.

Review 100:Excellent location. Simple & clean. Nice atmosphere. Professional staff.

Review 101:Noisy air conditioning!

Review 102:Good hotel albeit noisy air conditioning !

Review 103:Not too much charachter, average breakfast.

Review 104:Good city hotel, free parking. Quiet room.

Review 105:Very friendly staff (Karin) who had great reccomandations for wine tours and restaurents !!

Review 106:Everything is a little bit small, including the breakfast room, therefore crowded in the morning. But this comes probably with the central location.

Review 107:Great value for money!

Review 108:The staff. Francisco was very helpful. The location is great.

Review 109:Location , very friendly staff Francisco made our stay great and speaks English.

Review 110:Only 1 plug in the whole room and that was the one in the bathroom Small breakfast buffet

Review 111:Hotel is located very centrally at Plaza Independencia.

Review 112:Welcoming great location quality feel

Review 113:room is tiny

Review 122:Splendid for atmosphere. Staff very helpful

Review 123:tired rooms, worn out carpet, worn/tired furniture, small room

Review 124:location and staff

Review 125:We were in room 145 which has no privacy as the window is right on the pool terrace.

Review 126:Great location in centre of city on main square. Helpful staff.

Review 127:Poor internet connection in rooms Breakfast was just lots of pastries Our room was a run down and in a very poor location.

Review 128:Location Staff
