Hotel Kaufmann

Hotel Kaufmann descritpion
The Verwöhnhotel presents itself in new brilliance after extensive renovation and expansion work. It welcomes you in the midst of the unspoiled nature of the Allgäu region at Lake Forggensee.
In loving detail work, using traditional materials, the owners transformed the hotel into an architectural jewel. What has remained is the magnificent panoramic view of the surrounding alpine landscape.
Full-style country house rooms, a hearty service, excellent cuisine, a beautiful spa area, and last but not least, the picturesque landscape of the eastern Allgäu region contribute to an over-all perfect spa vacation.

Reviews for Hotel Kaufmann
Review 1:We had a room in the old building. It was okay - apart from the very small bathroom - but we had assumed that all rooms have the modern design as shown on the hotel website.
Review 2:The restaurant offers great food, local fare with a creative twist. Excellent wine selection, good range of wines by the glass for a fair price.
Review 3:La situation calme. La piscine spa. Le restaurant.
Review 4:Nothing.
Review 5:The food, the pool. Could not fault a thing.
Review 6:Good servants
Review 7:Right place to relax Excellence Spa
Review 8:Very good location. Very quiet location but not too far from the castles. Stunning views. The swimming pool and sauna were great
Review 9:Spa area The landscape
Review 10:Additional charge for kids in the room is high
Review 11:Very good location, with very nice views. Calm and very good hotel with modern facilities. Nice swimming pool. Good restaurant and breakfast.
Review 12:No ramp access for baggage on check in. A bit difficult with heavy bags. A problem with flies in the restaurant and all over the buffet. The staff could have been a little less cavalier in their attitude.
Review 13:Location is beautiful and very relaxing
Review 14:I prefer food (breakfast) to be covered from flies. But it does seem aGerman breakfast isnt a breakfast without everything being left outuncovered.
Review 15:The rooms were fantastic, very spacious. Excellent views. Food wasgreat, though a little expensive. Building is very nicely designed anddecorated.
Review 16:We actually liked everything about the hotel and staff so this box isn't really relevant for us.
Review 17:We liked the modern design, spacious room and spacious shower room with excellent fittings. Breakfasts were superb as was our evening meals. Surrounding countryside was peaceful and beautiful.
Review 18:The Hotel is located in a amazing quite area with great spa facilities. Great restaurant and amazing services from all the hotel crew. We loved the area specially if you are traveling with small children.
Review 19:There was no one in reception when I arrived at 10.15pm (slightly latedue to flight delays into Munich) even though the booking.com websitestated that it is open daily until midnight. My reservation (althoughconfirmed by booking.com) had not been registered by the hotel so therewas no key left out for me. Cue a very uncomfortable 2 hours trying toget in contact with anyone from the hotel both directly and throughbooking.com customer service (both of which failed miserably).Booking.com were also unable to find me any alternate hotelaccommodation at that time of night. Out of frustration and desperationI ended up 'commandeering' a room key that had been left out for anotherguest who had not turned up by 12.15am. This did not make for a restfulnight, not to mention the very early start that I had to make it to mybusiness course. Not a good start to my stay (or experience ofbooking.com). The following morning no reason was given for the cock up,although I was allowed to keep the room I had taken over. Nor was Iapproached during the rest of my stay by any member of the management tooffer an apology or explanation for this very unpleasant experience. Atthe very least I would have expected an offer of a room upgrade or evena free drink to make up for it. I am now into my second week at thehotel and still no approach from the owner/manager - not to mention thatwhilst I was home for the weekend I have returned to find I have beenmoved into a smaller room!!
Review 20:Relaxed atmosphere. Appears to have some very smart rooms available(though I didn't get to experience any of them). The spa area is verymodern and clean and the small gym and pool are excellent. Nicecountryside view from room balcony. Service staff are friendly andrelatively helpful, if a little inattentive.
Review 21:Be prepared for a surprise when you see the hotel for the first time - the huge extension in which many of the bedrooms are located dwarfs the original chalet-style building and is clad rather oddly in strips of timber, giving it a slightly 'industrial' appearance. But don't be put off by this - once inside you'll be delighted with your choice. The service in the restaurant in the evening was very slow at times though the food sufficiently delicious to be well worth the wait.
Review 22:This is an excellent hotel - beautifully situated amongst rolling hayfields with a view towards the lake and the striking Bavarian Alps beyond. It has smart, spacious rooms - ours on the third floor had a balcony and huge bathroom. The breakfasts are first-class with an amazing array of breads, cheeses, cold meats and fresh fruit. The restaurant is exceptionally good and the young male waiter who patiently translated the German-only menu could not have been more helpful. There are delightful walks from the door of the hotel and cyclists will love the route around Lake Forgensee. The hotel has an enormous spa with every facility you could want and an attractive indoor swimming pool for days on which the sun doesn't shine - it did throughout our stay. We'd recommend this place to anyone.
