Reviews for Hotel Ferienhaus Fux
Review 1:Went for a vacation and am not overly pleased with check out time at 10 am... breakfast facilities close very early... This means that one has to get up quite early and rush breakfast so as to be able to shower, pack up and get out of the hotel on time. Check in : mid afternoon, departure mid morning is a bit steep for customers who come to relax.. 5 hours to clean a room between customers ???
Review 2:Beautiful room, very comfortable and clean
Review 3:This was a perfect stop to rest and relax from a day filled with site seeing. This cozy hotel exceeded in providing the comfort and warmth needed after walking in the rain and snow for the majority of the day. The staff were friendly and personally showed us our room to ensure it met our every need. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone interested in stay in Oberammergau.
Review 4:This is a minor point, but our bed wasn't the most comfortable. Higher quality sheets would help.
Review 5:Very convenient, friendly and cozy. We were on a three week tour, and this hotel was one of our favorites. The staff were very helpful.
Review 6:Not a big problem - but the sign on the hotel is not very prominent, so we found it a little difficult to find.
Review 7:The helpfulness and friendliness of the staff. Everything works perfectly, and the location in the village is quiet but central.
Review 8:Great location in the center of town, easy walking distance to restaurants and shops. Nice room with sofa and bed. Excellent bakery across from the hotel which we used for a cheap breakfast.
Review 9:Bathrooms were small, but adequate. No AC, so we had to had to keep the windows open, thus hearing the church bells and birds in the early morning
Review 10:Centrally located, helpful staff, large rooms, free parking. Great value for the money.
Review 11:Austrian twin bed - much prefer a double mattress.
Review 12:Location of the hotel is great. Staff was friendly, helpful and accommodating. We stayed in room 4 which was very spacious and comfortable. Bathroom and shower was modern and clean. Breakfast was great. We loved our stay at Hotel Fux and would book there again.
Review 13:The outdoor sign on the hotel needs more emphasis on "Fux" and less on "Garnier." Was a bit hard to identify.
Review 14:We had a lovely room on the second floor with skylights and a balcony.
Review 15:The hotel was the perfect home base for our vacation to Germany & Austria. Great location for shopping and dining options. Apartment was very clean and spacious. Would highly recommend.
Review 16:Some of the reactions of the servers was quite off until AFTER they realized you were a guest and became familiar. They were busy but this is no excuse to be rude.
Review 17:Restaurant was good and staff was nice even though they were very busy. The location was perfect with a short walk to the lake and right within sight of the Nueschwantein castle.
Review 18:Nothing!
Review 19:A lovely, clean furnished apartment right in the Middle of town. Michael was very helpful with anything we asked. It was home from home for the week we stayed there. So nice to be able to come home from work to a home rather than a hotel room.
Review 20:Located in the heart of downtown Oberammergau. Close to shopping and lots of restaraunts. Hotel manager "Michael" was courteous, efficient and checking in and out was a breeze. Will definitely stay here again!
Review 21:Breakfast did not have much variety and didn't think it was worth the cost.
Review 22:Hotel/room were great - nice furnishings, comfortable bed, spacious room. Location is great - right in the middle of town, but with plenty of free parking. The town is beautiful - well maintained, lots of quaint shops, good restaurants.
Review 23:Nothing.
Review 24:Staff was helpful and accommodating making sure my wife and I were comfortable after relocating us from twin accommodations to double accommodations. Room was large with a king size bed, sitting area and double door to the balcony. Convenient location for city walks.
Review 25:Would like some assistance with luggage upon arrival and departure. ( Good strong local college student) Better internet access. Would like small fridge in room)
Review 26:location and view just perfect. room comfort and balcony exceptional. lots of free parking. local bakery and affordable restaurants in walking distance. local sites and attractions easily accessible by car.
Review 27:Sleep suffered very slightly as it was hot while we were in Oberammergau and slept with the window open - the church bells keep going all night :(
Review 28:Helpful, friendly staff - took pity on us during our road tour and turned our laundry around in less than two hours!!! Breakfast lovely. Location wonderful in central Oberammergau and with parking provided. Climbing the Laber and taking the Bergbahn down. Soothing aching muscles in the swimming complex at the base of the Laber. This is my favourite village in the world and was our favourite hotel out of 9 during the road trip. Wonderful - we'll be back :)
Review 29:First, the hotel is a PAIN to find. The name on the side of the property is different from the booking name and the streets are very twisty, so it took us a bit to find, even with our nag system. When we went to check in, they wanted to charge us to let our 6 year olds sleep on the couch. I find this insulting. When I told him I had made the reservation and noted the children when booking, he got belligerent with me, saying "so you blame Booking.com or me? Who do you blame?" We spent 260E for two nights stay. Reasonable would have been to say, hey, you are not requiring extra cots so don't worry about it, welcome! That was NOT the attitude of the staff here. They were there to milk money out of tourists, period. They wanted to charge me an additional 25E per kid. Plus breakfast was an add on charge, plus internet access. You get the drift.Kids Play Room: they have a nice photo of a play room on their website, that is only open from 10-6 PM weekdays... So unless you plan to just hang around the hotel playing foosball and goofing in the ball pool, forget about that aspect of the hotel. I want to have my kids play in the rec room in the evening when my wife and I are tired from the day, to have it close just when most parents would be wanting access was just plain stupid.Parking: they do not have ANY on-site parking. The parking they do have is PUBLIC parking controlled by the city. And you can not park there during the day, you know, the times when the play room is open. So, if you get sick on your trip, forget about staying here because the city will tow your car while you are resting in your room during the day. I suppose you could try to move your car every couple hours, but really...Facility: minimal. I felt like we were staying in a hostel. OK, that might be a bit of an exaggeration, but only a bit. Breakfast was a joke (there are good bakeries and restaurants all around, so skip their breakfast).
Review 30:Location was within walking distance to the town center and lots of shops and restaurants. My family are all skiers and coming back here for a ski holiday sounds great. I just would not stay in this hotel if we did...

Review 55:The size of the shower was small.
Review 56:Its location, helpful staff & cleaniness.
Review 57:Location, size of room, staff.
Review 58:Uneven floors Steps in middle of room Tripping hazard. Poor furniture Very little space
Review 59:Expensive breakfast not really good value (poor selection)
Review 60:Unique rooms, good location
Review 61:Nothing
Review 62:Everything is fine
Review 63:breakfast was a bit expensive but they graciously pointed us to a nearby bakery which amply met our needs.
Review 64:The hotel has large rooms (we were on the top floor in room 8). The room had a sitting area with a couch and a balcony with chairs we enjoyed. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom is modern with plenty of pressure and hot water
Review 65:Great location. Lovely deck. Easy parking outside hotel. Good breakfast. Receptionist very helpful. Time for walk after breakfast and before checking out. Clean bathroom. Comfortable bed. Good wifi service.
Review 66:Shower very small with shower curtain. Prefer larger shower with solid sliding door
Review 67:Large room, clean, central location, easy parking, easy access to variety of restaurants. Very nice breakfast facility, good staff.
Review 68:Hotel Fux was in the center of town and within walking distance of everything in Oberammergau. It was quiet and comfortable. The staff were very accommodating and friendly.
Review 69:The staff was very friendly and helpful. The location near the center of town was convenient, and everything we wanted to see was within walking distance. The room was clean and modern, and large by European standards. Breakfast was very good, and a fair value for the 8 euro price. We would gladly stay here again.
Review 70:nothing, it was all fantastic!
Review 71:It is a quiet little hotel that is central to the town of Oberammergau. Within walking distance to all the restaurants, shops, etc. Extremely friendly and helpful staff.
Review 72:No coffee/tea making facilities or at least a kettle with cups in room, but then in Europe this is seldomly found..
Review 73:Friendly staff, spacious and clean room, great breakfast, very well located...will stay again without a doubt
Review 74:Nobody available at checkout. No response to ringing the bell nor call on the telephone. Delayed checkout by 40 minutes (tried to check out at 7:30A). I had to go into kitchen area to find somebody to help.
Review 75:Parking. Good Internet. Location near shopping and downtown.
Review 76:The hotel / Inn is tricky to find - our iphone google map couldn't connect so get specific directions. Our finding of the Inn was hindered by the fact that the sign on the building was half hidden by shrubs and included in large print, the words Hotel Garni which was nowhere on our reservation information.
Review 77:The breakfast was excellent - lots of choice, friendly staff. The room was bright, cheerful and had a super balcony. The location right in the centre of the village made walking to everything easy. The pub across the parking lot was friendly and fun.
Review 78:The hotel was somewhat hard to find and there is a discrepancy betweenthe online info and the name at the establishment.
Review 79:We has a room with a separate back entrance which was private and quiet. The room were immaculate. This hotel was the most enjoyable segment ofour 2 week European adventure.
Review 80:We stayed one night travelling home from Austria. Excellent in every aspect. The breakfast, which is charged separately, was the best variety we had been offered on any of our overnight stays.
Review 81:When compared to the better qualities of the hotel, these are minor annoyances, but we wish the rooms had bath tubs and balconies. these two things will not stop us from staying here again.
Review 82:This hotel is centrally located to most of the places we like to visit, the shops we like to frequent, and the best restaurants in town. Add in the friendly staff, large rooms, and comfortable beds, and Hotel Ferienhaus Fux is one of the better places to stay in Oberammergau.
Review 83:Staff was very friendly and spoke English very well. Internet worked well. Breakfast was good, bacon & eggs, cereals, and a variety of bread. There is paid parking just in front of hotel, but we could stay in a special spot for free since it was few visitors.
Review 84:The WiFi coverage was a bit incomplete, I could get connected fine at the desk, but no where else in the room. The shower was also a bit small, it worked great and the water was nice and hot, just not a lot of room to move around.
Review 85:This was a quaint hotel. If you're expecting the amenities of a large chain you will be a bit disappointed. The room I got was fairly large with a queen size bed and flat screen TV. There was a nice sofa and a desk to get some work done. The WiFi also connected at a fairly good speed.
Review 86:Beautiful room with balcony (not mentioned in the description so a pleasant surprise) and lovely traditional design - lots of wood of very cosy and warm. Peaceful yet central location.
Review 87:Bar across the street was so loud. It played disco music very loud until 3am. I’m sure the bar was fun, but it was not fun to try and sleep through the noise.
Review 88:Very nice little hotel.
Review 89:Excellent. The room is fantastic like in a movie. The breakfast was wonderfull. The personnel was kind and helpfull. One of the best hotels I´ve ever been. Better tha many 4 stars hotels.
Review 90:The recep lady wasn't around when we reach but the owner is just aroundthe corner doing up his new hotel(?) and he is very approachable.Breakfast wasn't included in the room rate but we figured out that afteradding the amount for breakfast it was still quite value for money so werequest to ad in breakfast.
