Reviews for Hotel Antonia

Review 1:Only thing we didn't like was the smell of smoke in the reception area; luckily it didn't carry through to our room.

Review 2:Pretty much everything. Great location, friendly, helpful staff, excellent breakfast, clean and comfortable.

Review 3:Our room was up two flights of stairs so not gòod if one has lots of luggage. Bathroom had a frosted glass door. Privacy was an issue.

Review 4:Two minutes walk to centre of town. Pleasant staff. Great breakfast.

Review 5:The breakfast is a chit to go around the corner for a coffee and roll. So don't select this hotel as a true B&B. Rather, select it for location, location.

Review 6:If you want to be close to the Vatican and its museum, this is ideal. Finding a close-by parking garage for a normal Italian car is possible.

Review 7:Our stay felt more like staying with a relative than that of a hotel. The female owner was very personable, engaged us with genuine conversation every time we saw her. The accommodations were very clean and absolutely comfortable. The location was perfect, just a minute or so for walking to the center of town.

Review 8:It was so close to the city. Just about 5 minutes away. Our room #15 was so bright and convenient and very clean. Erika, the owner was very informative.

Review 9:Liked and enjoyed everything since the very first steps in. Lovely surroundings and people. Good and rather spacious parking, WiFi, nice breakfast! Cosy room, comfortable bed, complimentary bottle of water (and candies), very quiet and calm place to sleep, and the town center is just a block round the corner, with lots of things to see (as well as to dine and drink of course)! And the hostess is great!

Review 10:The "free" WiFi was unpredictable. We didn't have much connectivity. Although, this town offers so much charm that WiFi isn't necessary but if you plan to purchase tickets for tours and such, you might not be able to.

Review 11:The location was perfect just 2 blocks from the town center. Easy to find & adequate parking. The garden view with private entrance was fantastic. The bed was very comfortable. The breakfast was the prefect variety. The price was lower than all our other bookings but the place offered more charm and benefits than many others. We wish we would've have booked for a longer stay.

Review 12:Everything was perfect

Review 13:The location was only a short walk from the bus station, and easy to find . Very clean room , spacious bathroom, located on a quiet side street. Incredible breakfast! Would stay here again in a heartbeat!

Review 14:The toilet/bathroom door is made from glass, which is a bit weird. Especially if you're not with your partner.

Review 15:We were really late, but still able to check in after we called. Even if was 11pm, and she obviously wasn't that happy about it, she didn't make a problem about it.

Review 16:Quiet location, but very close to the shops and restaurants, beautiful views from the room upstairs, friendly staff, superb cleanliness of the room, good WiFi and breakfast, complementary bottle of water, toiletries. We stayed just for 1 night, but the room has all the facilities for a longer stay (kitchenette with a kettle, coffee machine, small fridge, cooker, dishes). Approximately 15 min drive to Linderhof castle with it's gorgeous park and 50 min - 1 hour to Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau castles.

Review 17:The bed is a bit small but quite ok for me since I am not tall

Review 18:Great location , Wonderful views all around , Very friendly and helpful staff ( Mrs Erika Kuehl the owner ) and great value for money .Most of the places you want to visit are all within short driving distances

Review 19:It was very hot in August but the window of the room could be opened only slightly. Breakfast was good except for coffee.

Review 20:The room was quiet and comfortable.

Review 21:We had a wonderful visit, Breakfast was delicious, the rooms are cozy and comfortable, location is very good, and there was an open bar not too far where we went to have a late drink

Review 22:Nothing

Review 23:Everything was good, had a nice size bedroom for the 3 of us, with terrace. Good breakfast. Free parking. Easy to walk around town, convenient to drive to many locations in Bavaria.

Review 24:Other than being a couple of Americans in a European sized room, the opaque bathroom door kind of threw us for a loop. Kind of leaves nothing to the imagination when someone is showering or otherwise occupied in their. While a negative, it was kind of humorous as well.

Review 25:Owner was great and super friendly, gave my son and I many helpful tips. Location was very close to all the shops/restaurants, easy walking distance, but quiet because it was a bit off the main business area. Room was clean, could have been a bit bigger but still worked great.

Review 26:Limited options for breakfast. Some fruit and pastries would be good

Review 27:Very friendly and helpful staff. Great location. Great room. Free bus ride to Linderhof!!!

Review 36:Wifi is not good throughout the town, including Hotel Antonia.

Review 37:Nice location, easy to find, walking distance to shops, historic sites and restaurants in Oberammergau. Convenient via car to Ludwig castles, Garmish and other sights. Good furnishings, balcony and plenty of windows.

Review 38:Lack of effective WiFi which is very frustrating when travelling so far from home.

Review 39:Everything apart from the WiFi which refused to connect. Seems management aware but couldn't do anything to help.

Review 40:Having to leave so soon!!

Review 41:Very cute place!! Location, cleanliness, and staff couldn't have been any better. Wonderful breakfast and breakfast area! We'll stay here again for sure when in Oberammergau!

Review 42:The location of this hotel is perfect. We walked everywhere, but it was still quiet and peaceful at night. Room was spacious and very clean. Staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was delicious. It wasn't hot while we were there, but it was nice to have doors that opened for some fresh air.

Review 86:Really friendly and helpful staff. Thanks Erika :-)

Review 87:good sauna facilities and nice breakfast!

Review 88:Location is great, hotel is clean, staff is helpful. Overall good value for money

Review 89:Lacking a lift, the winding staircase was a challenge with large luggage bags.

Review 90:Hotel Antonia Garni is conveniently located to Oberammergau, within a 5 minute walking distance to the town’s plethora of restaurants and shops. This family owned hotel lacks a “lift” and air conditioning, but makes up for it with spacious rooms, comfortable beds, and a great breakfast in a quaint setting. We found the owner working the desk upon our arrival and she was very friendly and helpful. Tucked away of the main road in a side street, parking in the hotel’s lot is super convenient and free.

Review 91:Erika was great, I was stuck in traffic and waited an extra hour for me to show up. Breakfast was perfect too! There was a nice local pub/doner kebab place right around the corner too!

Review 92:The sloping ceilings.

Review 93:A very nice apartment with a great balcony to eat dinner on. It is a lovely cycle up the valley to Oberammergau. I enjoyed shopping for dinner at the local fruit and veg shop and the cheese shop near the church.

Review 94:Convenient location to rail and bus service. Erica is friendly and well versed in local food and attractions. Beautiful room and good breakfast selection. Balcony was an added plus with our room.

Review 95:Parking might be a concern during the busy season. But just be back earlier in the evening to grab one of the parking spots. Dining then strolling through downtown Oberammergau is a great experience with plenty of choices.

Review 96:Just as all the other reviews say: Erika is a fabulous hostess. She is lively, friendly, helpful and in command. She runs an impeccably efficient hotel with beautifully maintained rooms. Her breakfast is superb and the location is excellent for walking around in the touristy shopping area. Just a block from Kathe Wohlfahrt. The rooms are a nice size and very comfortable. Lots of hot water and a very quiet location.

Review 97:A kettle in the room would have been nice.

Review 98:The staff could not have been more welcoming, helpful and charming. Hotel Antonia is in an excellent position and a very short walk from the centre of town and its restaurants + shopping.

Review 99:The weather :)

Review 100:Erika is a wonderfully helpful and friendly hostess. Liked having patio chairs - even if weather didn't help much. Basement lounge was a wonderful surprise. Breakfasts were very good and varied.

Review 101:does not have reception 24 h so be careful at the time of check-in; ask the lady to give the city card (gives an amount of discounts and you can go to Linderhof by bus for free - the lady did not informed me of the existence of the card)

Review 102:Basic room; little details all over the hotel - ladybugs, flowers, etc -; magnificent decor of the breakfast room; the breakfast is marvellous; chocolate offer at check-out;

Review 103:Double Room on the ground floor was on the smallish side. Wi fi wasn't working too well.

Review 104:Very clean and comfortable. very central location...can walk to restaurants, shops. Friendly service.

Review 105:Internet connection was hard to use -- they need additional lines to accommodate today's travelers who wish to be "connected."

Review 106:Loved the balcony off our room. The location was great -- easy to walk to town. Great breakfast.

Review 107:The owner (an older woman) was rather unfriendly and made no efforts towelcome us or inquire of our comfort. The wi-fi did not work. Beds werea bit hard and the pillows were flat and understaffed.

Review 108:Great location - 5 minute walk to everything. Quiet neighborhood, freeparking, good value.

Review 109:We loved everything about the hotel. It was very comfortable and met our needs perfectly. We even had a balcony where we could sit and look out on the mountains! Awesome! Breakfast was great too.

Review 110:No kettle in the room (to make tea you have to go downstairs to the kitchen in the basement). No heating in the evening (at the time of our staying it was about +6-8 C). Awful pillows (huge and shapeless) and small (though warm) blankets.

Review 111:Great location, in a quiet beautiful town at the foothill of the Alps. Erica, the hostess, was very helpful to advise better time and places to go to. An expanded continental breakfast.

Review 112:Wifi was a bit slow

Review 113:Immaculately clean, the lady who owns it takes great pride in her hotel. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom was small but adequate, a good shower but no bath. Breakfast was lovely fresh bread and meats with cereal and toast. The hotel is in a quiet residential area but a very close walk to town. perfect for an overnight stay.

Review 114:Breakfast while sufficient was very basic with not too fresh fruit.

Review 115:Very helpful staff. The facilities are exceptionally clean and comfortable. Rooms were very warm and the bathroom modern. We loved the location close to the centre of Oberammagau.

Review 116:Everything was very good, I couldn't find anything negative.

Review 117:The lady-housekeeper was very friendly en helpfull by giving tourist-information. The breakfast was perfect an made with love. My bed wasperfect and I had a nice balkon, and this all for a very good price.Next time I'll take the same hotel again.
