Review 1：The staff were generally very passive - we had to ask for the towels which were missing from our room three times before they arrived hours later, breakfast is entirely do it yourself, and we were initially given a cheaper room than the one we paid for. Everything was eventually fixed and comfortable but with zero sense of urgency.

Review 3：The pool is really nice, but it was not always clean and ready. When we got back from our excursion, I really wanted to take a dip but the jets were off and a few insects got it before I did. They met their end and were floating around. I saw the pool staff cleaning it in the morning, but I guess a mid afternoon sweep at the very least would be good too. The room we got was white all over. It was very clean but a bit of color and textured fabrics(like in the pictures) would have been more appealing.

Review 4：I really liked the garden! The ambience in the restaurant is really nice. The birds chirping and hanging around the vines...I loved this! It was really serene and 30 minutes from Punta Cana. Amazing location!

Review 5：The towels in the bathroom did not look clean/fresh. They were obviously old and even had some visible stains. The air conditioning device was old and malfunctioning: it did not cool the room well and also made an annoying mechanical sound so that I had to turn it off.

Review 6：Good location close to the airport which was what I needed. There is a beautiful yard surrounding the pool inside the hotel. Friendly staff.

Review 7：Hotel Vecchia is an oasis between LaRomana and Bayahibe. The staff made our stay very pleasant. The wait staff in the restaurant had a great sense of humor that bridged the language gap between my minimal Spanish and their rudimentary English. They made us feel welcome and at home. Plus the food was great

Review 10：Restaurant staff were not so friendly. Being a veggie/pescatarian, I ordered a cheese toastie. It came with ham too. Instead of recooking the order, it was given back to me with all the ham hand picked from the toastie. I then explained this wasn't good enough and it was begrudgingly made again. At this point I had already ordered a seafood ravioli to follow. After witnessing this lack of basic food hygiene I was fearful of what might happen and rightfully so. The next morning (the day we were due to fly home) I felt decidedly "dodgy" meaning I couldn't face breakfast or anything else the entire day. Overall the restaurant gives off a very high class image and therefore I was disappointed that such basic errors were made where food hygiene is concerned. At the time of our stay 19th-20th March, there was noisy building work going on next door. Only other issue was aircon was not included in the room. We had a fan, but it was too noisy to have on at night and part way through the 2nd day stopped working completely.

Review 11：The rooms are very clean, slightly rustic inside. Pool and pool area were a real delight and deserted during our stay. Reception staff were very helpful and spoke English (which always helps) Easy to find and car parking available. Very luxury feel as you first walk though reception area to the open gardens and pool. Very remote location if you wish to be away from everything. You will need a car if you wish to go anywhere though.

Review 21：The staff was wonderful and personable, even though we didn't speak the language. This is a small hotel in a country that has capitalized on the all inclusive mega hotel. It is quaint and private and quiet! They were remodeling the pool and garden area and so upgraded our room and got permission for us to go to a private beach. The bed was more comfortable than my bed at home. Everyone went out of their way to help us.

Review 22：The conceirge is only there until 11:PM. There was no soap. The floor was filthy; I had black socks on and there were hairs all over my socks. The manager was extremely rude, and the food was horrible. I checked out.

Review 31：The hotel is located just outside the town of La Romana off the highway. Look out for the signs on the highway to find it. Staff were friendly and helpful but the restaurant is expensive. Recommended for accommodation but not food.

Review 32：The hotel is hard to find, especially at night, they should put a few signs on the highway and on the old highway at crossings. We called them to see how to get there and we had to call about 20 times as they line was busy all the time. They should improve their system and know when there is a second call coming in! The room was freezing and we only found out the next day that there was an AC on the loft area and it was set at 16 degrees. I got a cold just staying there. Breakfast was simple.

Review 34：The price of an off-menu plate at the restaurant changed AFTER we consumed it from 300 pesos to 1000 pesos. Bathroom is big but very dark, and hotwater may be difficult or impossible to get. A car is necessary to go anywhere.
